It's been 3 months since that magical tonight together after Andrew and Mellie's wedding. They haven't seen each other since then, except the occasional facetiming moment. Olivia has been trying to distance herself from Fitz. She doesn't want to believe in the possibilities of them finally having a chance. Especially not when she made a pact that she feels like she can't break. Each time she talks to Fitz, it's short, by her own choosing and he leaves more frustrated than the last time they talked.

Olivia is deep in thought. She has been obsessing over Fitz's last text. He's going to be in town for the Democratic Governors Council in New York. He wants to see her and she wants to see him but she can't. She can't do it to herself. She is shaken from her thoughts by Edison's voice, "Good Morning!"

She shakes her head looking in his direction. "Good Morning," she responds.

"Breakfast and fresh coffee. Can we marry James?" Edison comments.

"I can't marry James, but I see him eyeing you more than he should," Liv laughs.

"He knows he is not my type. Although, for a live in Chef, I am willing to make that exception."

"He is perfect for you. Besides being an amazing chef, he's attractive. He's funny. He's very smart. And most of all, he's loyal."

Edison contemplates her words, "He's definitely loyal." He takes a sip of his coffee, noticing Olivia's expression. He knows she has been different since coming back from her friend's wedding. He's been wanting to ask but they've agreed to never get into each other's business. "What is all this? You trying to marry me off. I thought I was already married."

She gives him a playful eyeroll, "There's room for improvement. Don't you think?"

"I have been thinking about it. We have some decisions to make about the future," Edison says.

"What kind of decisions?" She gives him serious glare.

"The public is starting to wonder why we don't have any children yet," Edison says.

Liv gets up with her coffee cup, topping off her cup. "You know why we don't have any children yet. We do not have a marriage."

Edison looks sullen, "I am sorry Olivia. I truly am. But we need to figure something out."

"Edison, I love you as a friend. I always will. I did this for you and mostly my parents. I did it more for my parents then anything. And it benefitted both of us very well. But I looked at the now and did not think about down the road."

"We make a good pair Olivia," Edison says.

Liv sighs, "Yes we do but how long can we sustain this?"

Edison smiles, "As long as we have to." He studies her. They've been together a long time. They may not know each other in the intimate sense but they know each other in every other way. "What is going on with you Ollie?"

She tries to not give anything away but she know show well Edison knows her. "Nothing is going on."

"Ollie, I know you too well. You are asking these contemplating questions. We agreed to see whoever we wanted. That is why this house is so big. You have a wing and I have wing."

"I just don't know if I can do that and not…be worried all the time it will get out. We worked a long time to make this work and.."

He thinks he knows where she is going, "You want out."

"I just…"

"You saw him at the wedding," Edison says.

Olivia could never hide her thoughts from Edison. He knows her too well. "Of course, I saw him at the wedding."

"And you two got overly reacquainted. I cannot say I blame you. He is a very good-looking man," Edison laughs.

"Can we not talk about the fact that this is the 20th time you've expressed interest in the love of my life?"

"He is a very good-looking man, Olivia. If he were into men, I would have fought for him. You wouldn't just plunge and do it. I told you that you didn't have to marry me. I knew what you were giving up," Edison says compassionately.

"I should have fought for myself," Liv says sadly. "But you know my dad. His connections. You know how he is. I did not have the strength to fight him. His plan agreed with the goals I had for myself and he knew that. He played on that and I let him."

Edison sits next to her and holds her hand, "You don't need him anymore Olivia and you know that. You are the Attorney General of New York. You can now do whatever the fuck you want. I'm a big boy, I'll figure something out if I have to."

"Or maybe you will just live your life as you should," Liv says, squeezing his hand.

"I know I'm a coward," Edison admits.

"I am a coward too," Liv laughs.

"I am not holding you hostage. If you want out. I will let you go," Edison announces.

"You know, Fitz told me that everyone knows about you in Washington."

"Who told him?" Edison says nervously.

"He didn't say. He just said that it is one of Washington's worst kept secrets. It is Vegas in Washington. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Same rule applies for Washington, "Liv reveals.

Immediately Edison is now focused on himself, "This can't get out Olivia. I want to be Senate Majority Leader, the establishment is not going to let me do that if they knew."

"Edison, times have changed and…"

"I am black and I'm gay Olivia. You and I both know it's not the greatest pre-cursor in this climate."

"But it's your truth Edison, just like it is my truth that I will forever be hopelessly in love with a man I've hid from myself."

"That you slept with as soon as you were back in his orbit. He doesn't sound like he's that hidden," Edison reminds her.

"He's the Governor of California," Liv reminds him.

"Who's clearly not faithful to his wife?" Edison says with his signature eyebrow lift.

Liv is lost in her thoughts of Edison nudges her, "What?" She thinks on what he said. "They have an arrangement too. Their marriage was over a long time ago."

Edison raises her hand and kisses the back of it. "What do you want?"

"I honestly don't know," she answers quickly.

"You know what you want," Edison says.

"I am Black and he is white. I'm a Democrat and he's a Republican," Liv answers.

"What did you tell me? Times have changed. You two would just have a very mixed marriage. Mixed babies, mixed ideas, mixed ideologies, and mixed political views. This sounds like the perfect marriage to me," Edison says.

"You are an undercover drama queen," Liv rolls her eyes playfully.

"That may be true but I do want you to be happy. You deserve that."

"You deserve that too," Liv says. She looks at Edison's sweet and friendly face. "Would you really do that for me?"

"Would I do what for you?"

"If I want out…" She says slowly.

"Of course, I would Liv. After all you did for me, of course I would."

Liv kisses his cheek, "We did a lot for each other." Just as Liv says this, her phone beeps again. It's Fitz, trying for the 100th time to reach her.

"You have been avoiding him haven't you. Answer him," Edison says.

"He's going to be here in two days.." Liv reveals.

"Be careful," Edison says.

"I am not going to see him. I can't see him," Liv says as she gets up and starts pacing back and forth.

"Olivia stops pacing," Edison says. They know each other very well. Not in the intimate sense but in every other way.

"He's going to come to me I know. Even if I ignore him."

"He loves you."

"He's the Governor of California," Liv says again.

"I know that, but you can figure it out."

"I could get caught. He could get caught. This could ruin our careers. I am not ready for that. My career can't take that right now."

Edison walks over, fixing his tie in the short mirror that's in the small hallway by the kitchen. "Says the woman who is telling me that it is okay for me to come out to the world. That everything is going to be fine."

"Because everything is going to be fine Edison. They won't brand you with a letter across your forehead because you are gay."

"No, they'll just find ways to demean me and diminish the position I fought so hard to achieve in this town and in Washington."

"Mutual place," Liv says randomly as she still paces.

"What?"

"I should meet him in a mutual and very public place," she shakes her head.

"I can see the headline now," Edison chuckles as he picks up his briefcase ready to leave.

"You are right. A public place is a very bad idea," she plops on the stool at the large breakfast island. James come in, clearing his throat.

"James breakfast was delicious, thank you," Edison says, almost sweetly. James starts to blush.

"Thank you Senator Davis," he smiles.

Edison thinks about it. He walks over to Liv and kisses her on the forehead, "Everything will be fine."

Olivia smiles, "Thank you."

"I'll call you later," he says as he leaves.

James is twirling his words around in his head. Trying to figure out how to say what he wants to say. Olivia is looking Fitz's 20th text. She knows she need to answer him. "Mrs. Davis, can I be candid?"

Liv looks up from her phone. "You have always been candid James. If it is a raise you want. I amore than think you have earned it. What are you proposing?"

James looks confused, "No, it is not about a raise. You pay me very well."

Olivia's interest is now on high alert. "Okay, it's not a raise. What is it?"

"I could be wrong and I don't want you to think I am prying or…," James stops himself and things the better of doing it. "Never mind, are you going in to work today?"

"James, you can be frank. You've signed an NDA, with the exception of the other staff, you know everything."

"And I love working for you both and you are good people," James says.

"But…," Olivia pokes him.

"Is Senator Davis gay?"

Olivia takes a breath, "How much our conversation did you hear? We should have been more discreet."

"Well, it all makes sense now," James finishes.

"What makes sense now?"

"Well we thought you had an arrangement. And I sometimes I think he's flirting, well harmless flirting with me but.."

"Have you talked about this with anyone?"

"It's a regular episode of the Young and the Restless around here but we respect our jobs."

"James, please keep this between us," Liv says worriedly.

"Your secret is safe with me," James answers.

Thank you," Liv says, patting the top of his hand. Liv lets out a deep breath. She gets up from the island, looking at her phone. She starts walking out of the kitchen.

"I think you should call him," James says.

Liv stops, turning around, "Call who?"

"The esteemed Governor of California," James says.

Liv shakes her head, "We are going to have to keep an eye on you."

"If he swung on my side of the fence, I would definitely call him. Headlines be damned," James finishes.

Liv laughs, "You are a too much. I will see you tonight."

"Goodbye, have a great day!"

Liv goes into her office. She stopped and let her secretary know that she's ready for the car to be brought for her and guards. She sits down on her chair, mulling over all of Fitz's text. As she is scrolling them, he sends another. This time it is a photo, and it takes her completely by surprised. Under the photo he says, This is a trip I'll never forget. It was the first time we made love and the moment I knew no one would ever be good enough for me.

It's a photo of them, in their snow suits. They stole away to a cabin in Vermont and went sledding. It was that night that they unwrapped their layers of clothes and then wrapped each other in love. Liv initiated it. She was ready and he was more than ready, but it was the best night of their lives.

She decides to text him….as she can't control the emotions that this phone has stirred up for her.

Liv: You still have this photo.

She sat, stalking the phone. Now she needed to talk to him. She needs him to talk to her.

Fitz: Of course, I did. That is a weekend I'll never forget.

Liv: You stole my heart that weekend.

Fitz: That is not all I stole.

Liv: OMG! You are the worst.

Fitz: You told me I was the best.

She closes her eyes. It's as if she can feel his breath on her skin. The feel of his fingertips stroking her skin ever so gently. He waits for her to respond. She finally does.

Liv: Don't' make this hard on my Fitz.

Fitz: Don't be afraid of me, of us. The wedding brought us back together but I never stopped loving you.

Liv: We have to much to lose…I need to go I'm late.

Fitz: In 48 hours we will be in the same space, breathing the same air and the only thing that will stop us from tasting each other is you. I won't push you. I would never make you do something you didn't want.

She watches every word he types and she cuts him off.

Liv: I do want you….I'm just….

Fitz: I am going to send you an address and instructions. Friday, I hope you'll meet me there.

Liv: That is risky.

Fitz: Do you trust me?

Liv: Of course, I do.

Fitz: Until then.

And just like that, he is gone. What is she going to do? Of course, she knows what to do. She just must do it. She grabs her purse and tote. It's time to go and take care of the state of New York.

Fitz is looking at the photo of him and Olivia. He remembers that weekend and specifically that night. She had explored with sex when she was sixteen. It was her first and last time up until then. He was a little more experienced but it was something about being with Olivia Pope that made him want to ruin her. He wanted to ruin her in the best way and make crave no one but him.

He and Olivia were sitting in front of the crackling fire. They are playing a spirited game of Go Fish, Olivia's choice.

"I can't believe you are making me play Go Fish," Fitz says and Liv is relishing in her win.

"It's a great game…," Liv laughs.

"It's…" Fitz starts.

She slaps his shoulder, "It is not a kid's game. You better not say that."

He pulls her to him, between his legs, "I don't think of you as a kid. Believe me," Fitz says as he kisses the bridge of her nose.

"I don't want you to treat me like a kid," she smiles, as she kisses his lips lightly.

He looks at her intently, "Do you feel like I treat you like a kid?"

"No, it's just, you treat me like I'll break.."

"I treat you like the gem that you are. I don't want to hurt one hair on your body. I only want to do right by you and I treat you like precious jewel you are to me."

"I won't break," she smiles.

He pulls her even closer, "No, you won't break but I want forever with you and I am sure of it. I want to protect you and take care of you. I want you to know that you belong to me."

"I want you too that's why I know I am ready. I know you don't think I am but I am."

"I want everything to be perfect. This is important to me."

"Everything is perfect. You got this cabin for us. We are alone and this is our bubble. You made the everything perfect."

He traces her face, "Once we do this there's no turning back….you are mine forever."

She traces his face, "You can't promise me forever."

"Watch me try," he crookedly smiles. He stands up and reaches his hand for her to lift her up with him. "Come with me," he says.

"Where are we going?" She says blushingly.

He puts his fingers on her lips, "Do you trust me?"

"Of course I do," Liv smiles.

"Then follow me," he says as he leads her up the stairs. Instead of stopping in the bedroom, he leads her up to the attic. What is in the attic she thought?

Fitz is brought out of his memory by a buzzer on his phone by his secretary. "Yes, Lauren!"

"Governor Grant, your wife is here for you.

"Thank you Lauren," he answers as he swipes another look at he and Olivia and gets up from his chair. Abby walks in. She's a red-headed beauty, slender in figure but big in presence. He walks over and gives her a kiss on the cheek. "Mrs. Grant."

"Oh cut the crap. You know you aren't that happy to see me," she chuckles.

"Actually I am. I needed to talk to you about something," Fitz starts.

"I need to talk to you too. I need to come with you to New York," Abby says.

Fitz is momentarily without words, "Why do you need to come to New York?"

"Because I am tired of the headlines that I never accompany you anywhere. We don't do enough together which I call bullshit on because I fulfill my commitment and we kiss when we should and play the role."

"But what does New York have to do with that? It is a Governor's conference. It's not a romantic trip," Fitz says.

"You didn't take me to Mellie and Andrew's wedding. Tongues were wagging that you went to something like that without me," she reminds him.

"Of come on, I stayed one night. It was hardly a trip," Fitz reminds her.

"We all know why you went to that wedding Fitz. You went to see Olivia and I am sure you made the most of it," she rolls her eyes and walks over to his bar, pouring herself a drink. "Can't say I blame her. You are a lousy husband but excellent lover."

"Thank you, I think," Fitz says.

"Look, we need to make a weekend of it. That should shut everyone up for a few months. We will go out to dinner, look good for the cameras," she pulls a dress out of the bag she came in with. "I'll look fucking hot," she as she grins at the Badgley Mischka dress. "Don't worry I got something for you too."

"Abby, I don't think this is a good idea," Fitz says.

"I think it's a perfect idea. I have already made the arrangements," she says as she gathers her things. She walks over and pats his chest, "Don't worry, this will at least bump you up 3 points in the poll for a few weeks.

"Abby," he sighs.

"I'll see you at home," Abby says as she leaves before, he can get a word in.

In a matter of minutes, his plans were just thrown out of the window. He has to figure it out. He has to figure out how to make this work. He's not leaving New York until he and Olivia are on the same page, Abby be damned.

Liv is sitting in her office, it's after lunch. She hasn't been able to focus all day. All she could think about was Fitz and seeing him and ultimately knowing what's going to happen if they are alone together. It's not that she doesn't want it to happen. She doesn't trust herself with Fitz. She loses all sense of reality and logic when she's with him because he makes her feel so free. She can't get that trip and that night out of her mind. She travels back to that moment.

"Fitz, why are we going to the attic?" She asks.

He does not say a word, he just opens the door to the attic, and she is blinded the beauty and the wonder of the room. There are string lights draped around the room. He has champagne chilling in a bucket with chocolate covered strawberries. He made an amazingly comfortable looking cot on the floor with pillows. Fitz closes the door. The smell of vanilla and coconut envelops the room.

"How did you do this?" Liv asks.

"Well, I let you sleep this morning. I hung the light. I didn't need that many. I did the bed ..and then I waited until you took your soak in the tub this evening to finish the rest," he says looking around the room, proud of himself.

"I can't believe I fell asleep," Liv says, burying her face in his chest.

"I wanted you to relax, so I am glad you did plus it helped me do all this," he waves his hand at the setting.

Liv walks around , looking at their surroundings, "This is beautiful. I can't believe you did this for me."

He steps behind her, and brings his arms gently around her waist, "You deserve it."

She rests her head on his chest, looking at the stars in the sky. "Is this what it is like dating a rich guy? Surprises and secret trips."

"If that is what you want. I'll give you that every day of the week," Fitz smiles as he kisses her neck.

Liv turns in his arms, facing him. The light in her eyes are twinkling like the stars. "You are going to spoil me."

Fitz runs his hands up and down her back, "The plan is for you to become as obsessed with me as I am with you. And you will never leave."

"I'll never leave…just promise me that you won't," Liv answers.

"You are mine, always."

She snuggles into his chest as she looks through the mosaic glass that highlights the night sky with colors, "I never want to forget this night."

"It hasn't even started yet," Fitz says as he watches her. He is mesmerized by the candle lights that starts to illuminate her skin as continues lighting all the candles. He has a strobe that shows starts in the ceiling since it's too cold for them to be outside.

"Remember, I trust you," she says.

He smiles, turns on a song on his phone, "I know it's a little corny but may I have this dance."

She laughs, "Yes you can."

He reaches for her hand as he takes her in his arms. As You and I by John Legend starts to play. How did he know she loves this song. She settles into his arms as the move to the music. He whispers in her ear, "Just you and I…Livvie."

Out of all the girls

You're my one and only girl

Ain't nobody in the world tonight

All of the stars

You make them shine like they were ours

Ain't nobody in the world but you and I

You and I

Ain't nobody in the world but you…

The continue to sway to the music, looking into each other's eyes. She looks at him with intensity that almost takes his breath away. If only he could hear her thoughts. Why does this beautiful man want me? How am I, his type? How did I get so lucky?

She finally speaks, "Why me?"

As the music serenades perfectly in the moment, he responds. "Why not you?"

You keep wondering if you're what I'm wanting.

You don't even have to try.

Oh, you don't have to try

Don't try, don't try.

You don't have to try.

Out of all of the girls.

You're my one and only girl…

She swipes her finger across his lips and slowly utters his name, "Fitz…"

He does not answer her with words. He answers her with all consuming kisses. They hold each other tight as they explore each other's lips with hunger. Fitz slowly brings them down on both their needs as they never break the kiss. He then gently lays her down on the floor bed he has made. Their tongues duel for domination with Fitz winning as he pins her arms over her head and begins to kiss from her lips to her chest. He realizes he has one obstacle, her clothes. It's as if she is reading his mind, she frees her arms and starts to pull at her shirt.

"No," Fitz says huskily as he starts to remove her shirt. He begins to undress her, relishing the moment as she's unabashed. His gaze is searing as realizes she's not wearing a bra and then he quickly pushes her pajama bottoms off, revealing no panties. "I want you so much."

"Then prove it," she says sultrily.

He starts to worship her nipples in his lips. He licks and sucks each nipple. She is in heaven in this moment as she pushes his head with force as her nipples beg for more attention. He moans as he dips his hands between her legs. She moans at the feel of his fingers slipping between her wet lips.

"Oh my god," she moans. "Fitz…" He body trembles from overload of touches. With her free hand she drops her hand on top of his as he finger fucks her deliciously. She lifts her body as he gently pushes her back down. "Yes….ugh..yes…" she chants.

Fitz begins to travel down her body, kissing a delicious single line down her stomach, traveling to her golden pond of nectar. He dips his tongue in her navel and looks up at her, "No turning back," he whispers. She opens her legs wider in response. Fitz travels to her pond and gently traces her lips with his tongue.

"Shit," she squeals.

He kisses her center with a few gentle kisses as the scent of her essence envelopes his nostrils. He begins to lick and suck her clit, moving his fingers in and out of her. The taste of her juice is enough for Fitz to lose all control right there. She thrashes her head from side to side as her pleasures her greedily. She grips the sheet as if she needs control. "Don't stop," she says out of breath and he doesn't.

For what seems like hours he eats her until he just can't take it anymore. He needs to be inside her. He needs to make love to her. He needs her. He thrusts his tongue in and out of her as she begins to tremble. He can feel it, he knows she's close. He keeps pumping her with his fingers as he sucks hard and as if a dam had broken she climaxes with a loud scream, as she throws her forearm over her face. Fitz drinks her juices in as she licks her through her orgasm.

"Oh my…what just…." She is out of breath.

He starts moving up her body, he kisses as much of her body as he can, making his way to his lips. His chin glistening from her juice. "Do you know how good you taste?" She nods her head. "You should know how good you taste," he says as he slams his lips into hers. Liv moans at the taste of herself.

He dips his fingers back into her wet pussy. "I need to be inside you."

"I want you inside me," she says kissing his ear and biting it. "Do we have…"

Before she could finish the sentence, Fitz jumps up, hurriedly pulling his shirt over his head. He reaches inside the champagne bucket pulling out the box on condoms. She looks at him and begins to laugh. He looks at her incredulously, "What are you laughing at?"

"You put them on ice," Liv laughs, realizing she's laying there but naked. Her body is so warm from Fitz's ministrations she's never felt more clothed.

"What's wrong with that," he says as he drops his pajama bottoms. Liv's eyes grow wide. She's seen him shirtless, they've fooled around. But she had never seen him in his birthday suit. He gives a new meaning to the phrase, "hung." He smirks looking at her reacting him. He opens the box, pulling out the condom and tearing off the top with his teeth. He lightly strokes himself to sheath his very excited wood.

"Let me," she says as she bites her finger. She didn't know why but she wanted to do so much with that blessed anatomy that was in front of her. Things she had never done but was willing to for him.

He walks over to her, dick swinging and glistening with his pre-cum. She sits her, she doesn't want to admit how nervous she is. He passes her the condom as he stands in front of her. She pulls it out of the pack. She nervously reaches out her hand and is about to stroke him. He catches her hand, "We can take this slow we don't have to go any further."

She looks up at him, she lifts on her knees and strokes him softly. She kisses his tip, getting a small taste of his saltiness. She then licks his tip softly. She thinks to herself, what in the hell are you doing Olivia? What if you aren't doing it right? But then, he moans.

She then kiss his length from the tip to his sack as she light strokes him, "Livvie," he moans. She looks up at him thinking he doesn't like it, "Not yet," he says. He takes the condom from her, rolling it on his painfully hard dick. He gets on his knees as they meet eyes, "I want to make love to you first."

She lays back down, legs open. She wants him as much as he wants her. He slowly travels up her body. "Promise me something," she says.

"Anything," he says.

"That you'll bring me back here someday," she says.

"I most definitely will," he says as he kisses her. He then gently slides inside of her warm heat. They both whimper at the introduction of her their bodies. He begins to slow move inside of her as they make love well into the night. This will truly be a night that they'll never forget.

The phone rings, bringing Olivia out of the memory of their first night together. "Ms. Pope, we have a situation. The Chief of Police is here."

"Chief of Police, I am sure that is not good. Please let him in." Liv checks her clothes and appearance. She hadn't realize that memory had her in a sweat. "Pull yourself AG Pope. You have a job to do." She quickly sends Fitz a text, "You are worth the risk." She can't believe she sent it but she did. She starts her meeting.

Fitz just finished a meeting. He has to go to the capital. He gets Olivia's text. There's an instant pain in his heart. What in the hell is he going to do now? He had everything planned for he and Olivia, down to making sure they would be as discreet as they needed to be. And now Abby is sending all his plans straight to hell. How is he going to make this work? If this falls through, this is just going to validate Olivia's apprehension. He has to prove them wrong. They can work. They can be together and he's going to prove it.

He decides to respond, "You are still my one and only girl. Don't ever forget it."

What is Fitz going to do now?
