"Would you just look at that?" Hermione said.
"I'm sorry, look at what?" Harry asked.
"Exactly. Why did we have to be the short ones? And why did we have to be in the back?"
Harry shook his head. "Because we're at a press conference for your boyfriend. And you didn't want to tell anyone. Of course we can't see anything."
Hermione huffed and crossed her arms. She and Harry were there as fans. And since they didn't have the same status in Bulgaria as they did in the UK, there wasn't really a good reason for them to be in the front.
Most of the time she was glad of that. She wasn't a person who craved the spotlight. But she would like to be able to see Viktor. Instead she was stuck looking at shoulders and backs. Harry, who was two inches taller, got necks occasionally and the back of some heads.
When the conference was over they hung back as everyone headed out. Slowly the room emptied and Hermione made eye contact with Viktor.
"You spot us?" Harry asked, a smile on his face.
"Easy," Viktor said. "Find the small space where heads should be, but aren't."
Hermione rolled her eyes. "Just because you're a giant."
