Hello people, sorry for the wait here's the fourth chapter of this story, it's a little bit shorter but the majority of the episode was spent on the ark so there wasn't much source material
So, one person asked me to keep Well's alive, and I'm sorry but I won't, I think Wells dying was a good plot twist that carry all the way from season 1 to season 3 so he needed to die
I won't change much of the important events that happened in the series, depends on the situation and the character

Chapter 4: The murderer child
"I'm sorry you had to do that Clarke," Ethan said
He and the blond young doctor were sitting in the shuttle as Clarke kept cleaning his wound and started wrapping some improvised bandages around the right side of his face
"It's fine, you don't have to worry about it," Clarke said and Ethan shook his head
"Of course, I have to, trust me, Clarke, even if you ease his pain, killing someone changes you, believe me, I should know," Ethan said and Clarke sighed, then Ethan grabbed her hands and force her to look at him "Clarke, if you start having nightmares of Atom, please come to me, I won't promise to make it better but I'll listen to you," Ethan said and Clarke smiled
"Thanks, Ethan, I appreciate it," Clarke said the male teen smiled and then noticed something when he was holding Clarke's hands
"What happened to your wristband?" Ethan asked in curiosity and Clarke sighed
"I found out that Wells didn't tell his father about my father's plans," Clarke said and then noticed the face Ethan and realized he wasn't surprised "A thing you apparently knew," Clarke said and Ethan laughed nervously
"Ah yeah, I kind of figured it out," Ethan said chuckling "I mean, the prodigal son obviously loved you, so I thought there was no way he could have betrayed you, but I didn't want to dig in more, that was between you and him," Ethan said and Clarke smiled
"Thanks, it was my mother," Clarke said and Ethan's eyes winded in shock
"What?" Ethan asked in shock "You mother?" He asked and Clarke nodded her head "Oh, Clarke I'm so sorry," Ethan said and Clarke smiled holding her tears
"I just didn't want to believe it, I mean, how could my mother have done such a thing," Clarke said and Ethan put a hand on her shoulder
"Sometimes we believe we're doing the correct thing when we aren't, and besides," Ethan said and then smirked a little "The council is full of idiots, guess your mother was one of them," Ethan said and Clarke couldn't help but chuckle
"So, I'm guessing you took the wristband to spite your mother?" Ethan asked and Clarke nodded
"Yeah, I just wanted to make her feel like I did," Clarke said and then looked down "You know, you haven't taken your hand from mine," Clarke said smirking and Ethan quickly let go of her hand
"Ah, sorry about that, I kind of got lost in the moment," Ethan said and Clarke smiled
"It's fine," Clarke said and an awkward silence surrounded both of them until they heard Octavia shout
"Ethan, Clarke!" Octavia shouted and both teens stood up but Clarke put a hand on his chest
"Where do you think you're going?" Clarke asked and Ethan scoffed
"I have a scratch on my face, doesn't mean I'm useless, don't worry Clarke, will not do any strenuous activity," Ethan said picking up his swords and strapping them to his back
"Fine," Clarke sighed as she climb down into the first floor followed closely by Ethan
They arrived at the entrance of the shuttle and saw a frantic Octavia pacing in front of the shuttle
"Vi, what's wrong?" Ethan asked in concern and Octavia turned around and looked at both of them
"Follow me," Octavia said as she led them into Bellamy's tent
The group of teens enter the ten and Ethan immediately saw two cut fingers on the table and looked at Bellamy in confusion "What is that?" Ethan asked in confusion as he walked forward to get a better look
"Those are Wells's fingers," Bellamy said and Ethan grew confused
"Wells fingers?" Ethan asked out loud in confusion and looked at Clarke "Wait, is Wells dead?" Ethan asked and Clarke sighed
"Right, I didn't tell you," Clarke said "We found him outside the walls with his neck sliced open," Clarke said and Ethan crossed his arms
"Grounders?" Ethan asked in curiosity
"We thought that, but I'm not sure now," Bellamy said as he nodded at the knife on the table
"This knife was made of metal from the dropship," Clarke said and Ethan pinched his nose in annoyance
"Great, not even a month here and we already have a murderer on our mist," Ethan mumbled
"Wait what does that mean?" Jasper asked in confusion
"Who else knows about this?" Clarke asked Octavia who shook her head
"No one, we brought straight here," Octavia said and Ethan nodded
"Good thinking, we need to keep this quiet in the meantime," Ethan said and Bellamy nodded
"I agree, we don't want people to panic," Bellamy said as Clarke looked at the knife and walked forward to exit the tent but Bellamy and Ethan blocked her way
"Get out of my way," Clarke said and Bellamy glared at her
"Think about this Clarke, look at what we achieve, it's bad, but people thinking that the grounders kill Wells is good for us," Bellamy said
"Okay, I don't agree with that, but we need to find who did it first before confronting them, if you confront them out in the open chaos will follow," Ethan said and Clarke scoffed
"Good for you, you mean," Clarke said glaring at Bellamy and then glared at Ethan "Besides we know who did it, J.M, John Murphy, the people have a right to know," Clarke said trying to walk out but Ethan put a hand in front of her stopping her again
"No, they don't, you're not thinking straight, I know he was your friend but if you go and do this, you're no better than the people that threw your father into space," Ethan said forcefully making the others grow quiet and Clarke glared at him "Just because that's Murphy's knife, that doesn't mean he did it, someone could have stolen it and kill Wells with it, we need to investigate this quietly, but I'll leave this decision to you, chaos or peace, whatever you decide, I won't interfere, you'll have to deal with your own consequences," Ethan said as he dropped his hand and stood aside in case Clarke wanted to leave
He wanted to believe she would make the right decision, he really did, but also if she chose wrong, then she would fall apart and he could take control of her, so, either way, he ended up winning, that was the thought running on his head
So when Clarke walked out of the tent with a purpose he had to fight the urge to smirk as he walked with a calm pace behind Clarke
"You son of a bitch!" Clarke said pushing Murphy making the teen glare at her
"What the hell is your problem?" Murphy asked annoyed and Clarke put the knife in front of his face
"That's my knife, where did you find it?" Murphy asked glaring at her
"You lost your knife?" Ethan asked in curiosity looking at Clarke with a raised eyebrow
"Yeah, throw it last night and I haven't seen it since," Murphy said Ethan nodded and then glared at Clarke
"Interesting," Ethan said glaring hard at Clarke
"Where you dropped it after killing Wells," Clarke said ignoring Ethan
"What are you even talking about? The Grounders killed Wells," Murphy said in confusion
"I know what you did, and you're going to pay for it," Clarke said and Ethan sighed knowing it was a lost cause, he walked away and leaned his back on a three as he saw the scene with his good eye glaring at the scene
"Really? Bellamy, do you believe this crap?" Murphy asked seeking backup from his leader but Bellamy remained quiet making Ethan scoff
"I put too much trust in them," Ethan mumbled crossing his arms "Heh, what a shame," Ethan whispered to himself as he continue looking at the scene in front of him
"You threaten to kill him, we all heard you, you hated Wells," Clarke said clearly not thinking straight
"Please, plenty of people hated him, his father was the Chancellor that threw our family away and lock us up," Murphy said
"Yeah, but you're the only one that got into a knife fight with him," Clarke said and Murphy scoffed
"Yeah so what, he won and I promise to leave him alone, I don't break a promise, I didn't kill him," Murphy said and Clarke glared at him but lost her words
But the argument continue thanks to Octavia speaking out "You tried to kill Jasper too," She said and Ethan sighed and shake his head
"This is ridiculous, I don't have to answer to you, I don't answer to anyone," Murphy said and Bellamy glared
"Come again?" Bellamy asked glaring at Murphy
"Bellamy man I'm telling you, I didn't do this," Murphy pleaded and Bellamy looked at where Ethan was, the teen just raised an eyebrow at Bellamy and tilted his head
"They found your knife with Wells's fingers, how can you explain this Murph?" Bellamy asked and Murphy sighed in annoyance
"Is this the kind of society that you want?" Clarke asked the crowd "You say there should be no rules, does that mean we can kill each other without," Clarke said, and before she finished her eyes met Ethan's and he glared at her with a raging fury that made her lose her confidence "Without punishment?" Clarke finished weakly and the crowd roared in agreement right there Clarke realized her mistake
"I say we float him," A random guy said all of a sudden making Clarke turn around so quickly and her eyes winded
"That's not what I'm saying," Clarke said but it was too late, she had lost control of the crowd and Ethan knew that
"Why not he deserves to float, it's justice," The same kid said looking at Clarke
"Revenge isn't justice," Clarke said trying to intervene but the crowd didn't care
"It's justice, float him!" The same criminal said as the crowd started chanting and grabbed a hold of Murphy
Murphy tried to fight back but the group of criminals started punching him and pushing him around, someone tied Murphy's hands on his back and threw him off a cliff as they started kicking him on his stomach
"No, let him go!" Clarke said trying to break the conflict but people grabbed her and pull her back then she saw how they were tying a rope around his neck and put tied the rope on a three "You can stop this, they listen to you!" Clarke said as she saw Murphy standing on a boulder with the rope tight around his neck as the crowd prepare to choke him out and kill him
Connor, the kid who had demanded they float Murphy looked at Bellamy "Bellamy you should do it, Bel-la-my!" He started chanting as the crowd chanted the teen's name
"I saw you in the woods with Atom, you're not a killer, Bellamy don't do this," Clarke said and Bellamy looked around trying to find Ethan, he found him still leaning on the three and the teen again tilted his head and smirked at Bellamy, with that Bellamy knew he wouldn't receive any help from Ethan
Ethan sighed knowing that Bellamy will fall to social pressure and started walking calmly to where Murphy was, some idiot tried to stop him but he just put his sword on his neck and lifted an eyebrow silently asking him if he really want to mess with Ethan
The teen let him pass as they heard Clarke screaming and Ethan saw Bellamy pushing the boulder from Murphy's feet making him choke
Ethan sighed and waited for the real killer to come forward, he knew Murphy didn't do it, he may be an idiot but if he had killed Wells, he would've gloated about it, or Wells would have put more of a fight, and Ethan believed that whoever had killed Wells, made the Chancellor's son put his guard down
So when a little girl about twelve or thirteen years old stepped forward, Ethan knew that his theories were right, so before the girl could confess he walked to where the rope was and pointed his sword at it
"Stop! Okay!? Murphy didn't kill Wells, I did!" Charlotte the little blond girl shouted making the crowd grow quiet and that silence was broken by the sound of Ethan cutting Murphy's rope and the hanging teen falling to the ground
"This is a fucking shitshow," Ethan said looking at the crowd in anger
Bellamy's tent sometime later
Ethan, Bellamy, Clarke, and Finn were inside Bellamy's tent hiding Charlotte from the crowd and a raging Murphy who was shouting at them to give them the girl
Ethan was standing to the side looking at Charlotte with a thoughtful look as the other three older teens talked with one another
"Why Charlotte?" Bellamy asked looking at the young girl
"I was just trying to slay my demons liked you told me," Charlotte said fear dripping from her voice as Ethan pinched his nose
"What the hell is she talking about?" Clarke asked glaring at Bellamy
"She misunderstood me, Charlotte that's not what I meant," Bellamy said looking down at the girl
"Bring the girl out now!" They heard Murphy shout from outside and Ethan grumbled
"If you have any bright ideas speak up," Bellamy said looking at Clarke and Finn who remained quiet and out of ideas "Huh now you stay quiet," Bellamy said mocking the duo
"Those are your boys out there," Finn said frowning at Bellamy
"This is not my fault, if she had listened to me and Ethan this shit wouldn't have happened, those idiots would still be building the wall," Bellamy said and Ethan decided that enough was enough, and took charge of the situation
"Okay everyone shut up, I'm in charge now, no questions ask, since you people decided to be idiots and not think clearly," Ethan said crouching in front of Charlotte "You had nightmares right? Can I ask what were they about?" Ethan asked and Charlotte looked at him with a pained expression
"My parents, I see them get floated, over and over again," Charlotte said and Ethan nodded putting a hand on her shoulder
"When you wake up, do you feel like you can't breath or your vision going blurry?" Ethan asked and Charlotte nodded "And when you saw Wells, do those symptoms come back?" Ethan asked
"Yes, I'm sorry I killed Wells, but I couldn't take it anymore," Charlotte said on the verge of crying
"Hey, look at me," Ethan said running his thumb along her cheek and trying to get rid of her tears "I know how you felt, I was in your exact same position Charlotte, you made a mistake, and that doesn't mean we're turning you to Murphy," Ethan said and looked at Clarke and the rest of the teens
"She has PTSD, that's why she had so many nightmares," Ethan said rubbing Charlotte's hair in comfort "Bellamy, go out there and try to calm them down and distract them, I have a plan, you'll have to trust me," Ethan said and Bellamy nodded walking out of the tent
"Okay, Charlotte I will not let them harm you, okay?" Ethan said and Charlotte nodded fear still on her body "But you'll have to do everything I say, no questions asked okay?" Ethan said and Charlotte nodded "Good, Finn, you're leading us to the place you always go," Ethan said as he took out a small knife and started cutting the back of the tent
"How do you know about that?" Finn asked in confusion and shock as Ethan made a hole in the tent for them to leave
"You go out exploring and come back with some resources and you're not hungry at all, so there's somewhere where you're feeding yourself and resting," Ethan said as he grabbed Charlotte's hand and lead her outside
"This way," Finn said leading the group into the woods
Middle of the woods sometime later
"Are we close?" Ethan asked standing next to Finn as Charlotte had fallen behind with Clarke standing in front of the young girl
"Almost there, just a little bit further," Finn said as they kept walking but turn around when Clarke spoke out
"What the hell are you doing!?" Clarke said as Charlotte tried to grab her hand "Just because we saved you doesn't mean you're forgiven, got it?" Clarke said in anger and Finn looked at her
"Clarke," Finn pleaded but Clarke glared at him
"What?" Clarke exclaimed
"She's just a kid," Finn said and Clarke glared back at him
"She's a killer," Clarke said in anger and looked back at Charlotte fully prepared to berate her
"So I am," Ethan said glaring at Clarke who looked at him losing her words "We children thought that whatever crime we do would get us killed, that's no way to live, and she is a girl who lost all her world and got send to prison as a reward, she doesn't know any better, and that's their fault," Ethan said pointing up and then put his hand forward for Charlotte to grab
"Also, if she hadn't come forward, Murphy would've died," Ethan said as Charlotte grabbed his hand "And that would've been on you," Ethan said flaring at her before turning to face Finn
"How far?" Ethan asked and Finn looked around
"We're almost there," Finn said and then they heard shouting from the distance
"Charlotte, they can't save you!" Murphy shouted from afar and Ethan look at Finn
"Now or never space boy," Ethan said and Finn nodded and ran forward
"This way," Finn said as they arrived at a secret underground entrance Finn quickly crouch down and opened the door
Charlotte enter first followed by Ethan then Clarke entered and finally Finn entered closing the door behind him
"An underground bunker huh?" Ethan said looking around "Let's get you someplace to rest kiddo," Ethan said putting a hand on Charlotte's back and grabbing a lantern and walking forward till he found a bed
He placed Charlotte on the bed and took a seat next to her, she placed her head on his lap trying to feel safer as he ran his fingers over her hair trying to comfort the little girl
"Am I a bad person?" Charlotte asked as Ethan saw Finn and Clarke lighting up some candles
"No, you are not a bad person, you're broken, just like me," Ethan said smiling at the little girl "Do you want to know why I got arrested?" Ethan said as Charlotte nodded and looked at him
"A guard, a bad person he hurt my mother and blame it on her," Ethan said running his fingers over her hair "She got floated because of it, and I got rageful and bitter, and I killed that guard," Ethan said and Charlotte's eyes winded "So I know how you're feeling kiddo, hollow, you feel like everything is your fault and that you're a monster," Ethan said "You are not, you were just scared and couldn't take it anymore, everything is going to be fine," Ethan said and Charlotte looked at him
"You promise?" Charlotte asked and Ethan nodded
"As long as you do as I say, I promise I'll keep you safe," Ethan said and leaned his head on the wall behind him starting to think of ideas of how to keep the young girl safe and quickly fell asleep
Flashback scene
"You'll get floated for this John, please reconsider," Maria, Ethan's mother was speaking to Ethan's father
Ethan was five years old and pretending to be asleep as he listen to the discussion
"We have no choice but to do it, Maria, our kid is dying, and they won't give us the resources to keep him alive, you heard what the chancellor said," John said looking at his son in concern
"There has to be another way John, you can't turn our son into that, we promise we would run from it," Maria said and John sighed
"I know what we promised, but is either doing that or letting him die, and I will always choose him," John said
"Okay, I will let you do this, when will it activate?" Maria asked as John rubbed his face
"His body will change and adapt to his new physiology as he grows, but the chip, his memories, they will activate once he's close to turning eighteen," John said and Maria nodded "He will be found Mary, I promise you that, he will be great, and he will become a leader to our people," John said and Maria sighed
"I know, that's what I was afraid of, I just wanted him to be free," Maria said and John put a hand on her shoulder
"And he will, we just need to give him a chance," John said as the scene started to fade from Ethan's mind
He woke up groggily when he felt Charlotte's weight fade from his lap making him perk up, he looked around and saw that Charlotte was gone
He quickly stood up and saw Finn and Clarke sleeping next to each other making him scoff, he didn't have time to deal with them so he quickly exited the bunker not having the need to open the door as Charlotte had left it open
He walked through the woods for a while until he heard someone running near his position and took his chances and ran toward the noise
He found Charlotte walking through the woods and quickly went forward and grabbed her by the waist hiding behind a tree
"What the hell did I tell you Charlotte?" Ethan said looking around then he heard some footsteps and put the girl behind him but sighed in relief when he saw that it was only Bellamy "Charlotte what were you thinking?" Ethan asked forcefully grabbing her by her shoulders
"Let me go! They want me not you, I can't let them hurt you!" Charlotte said and Ethan flick her forehead trying to calm her down
"Who gave you that stupid idea?" Ethan said as Bellamy looked around in fear
"Ethan we can't stay here," Bellamy warned and Ethan nodded
"I know, just let me figure this out, Charlotte where did you get that I would get hurt?" Ethan said and the little girl looked at him with tears in her eyes
"Finn said that you needed to do something before Murphy hurt you," Charlotte said and Ethan sighed in annoyance
"Charlotte look at me, do you think I'm weak?" Ethan asked glaring at Charlotte who shook her head "Then it doesn't matter what Finn says, those two are idiots, only what I say matters okay?" Ethan asked rhetorically and Charlotte nodded "I promised you I would keep you safe, trust me okay?" Ethan said with a kind smile on his face
Ethan heard Murphy shout in the distance and grumbled in annoyance as he grabbed Charlotte and carry her on his shoulder
"Come on Bellamy let's go," Ethan said running away from the area, they ran until they arrived at a big cliff and Ethan cursed mentally as he saw Murphy and his gang arrive at where they were
Ethan drew his sword as he glared at the teens in front of him "It's over, give us the girl Gray," Murphy said as Ethan glared at him
"Over my dead body," Ethan said as he stood in front of Charlotte but the teen cursed mentally when he saw Clarke and Finn entering the scene next to Murphy
"Stop!" Clarke said, "This has gotten too out of hand!" Clarke said as Ethan glared at Murphy
"Murphy, you're not a killer, step aside and we can forget about this, and the kids who tied you will be punished," Ethan said standing protectively in front of Charlotte
"That bitch let me hang knowing what would happen, so I'm just supposed to accept that? Fuck you," Murphy said as he grabbed Clarke and put a knife in her throat
"Listen to me you little shit, you come with me now, and nothing happens to her," Murphy said glaring at Charlotte
The little blond girl tried to go where Murphy was but Ethan put a hand in front of her "Please, let me go! I don't want anyone to get hurt," Charlotte said looking at Ethan with pleading eyes
"No one will get hurt Charlotte, trust me," Ethan said but noticed something off in her eyes as her eyes kept glancing back to the cliff
"I can't let him hurt anyone, not after what I did," Charlotte said as she ran to the edge of the cliff and jump into the ground intending to kill herself
Everyone looked on in surprise and Clarke got out of Murphy's hold and ran to the edge of the cliff but she wasn't quick enough to save her
But Ethan was, he reacted quickly already heaving a feeling of what she was intending on doing, so he took a big step and fall to the ground managing to catch Charlotte's right hand
"What the fuck did I tell you!?" Ethan said in anger as Charlotte looked at him in surprise "I know you blame yourself for what happened, but killing yourself or running away isn't the answer, understood!?" Ethan said as Charlotte nodded as Ethan started to lift her up with the help of Bellamy and Clarke
Ethan looked at Charlotte and flicked her forehead as he sighed and pinched his nose "This is the last time I'm going to tell you this," Ethan said in full irritation as Charlotte looked at the ground in shame "Listen to everything I say," Ethan said as Charlotte quietly nodded
Ethan crouched in front of Charlotte with his back turned to her "Come on get up," Ethan said as Charlotte climbed on his back "You idiots take care of this, I don't want to see him back at camp," Ethan said glaring at Murphy as he walks to the side of the forest and no one stopped him as he was sending up a murderous aura
Ethan walked through the forest with a purpose as Charlotte was hanging on his back while sobbing a little "Are you mad at me?" Charlotte asked with tears in her eyes
"No, I'm not mad at you little kiddo, I'm mad at Clarke, Finn, and Murphy," Ethan said as he kept walking till he found a lake separating to shores "This situation could have been resolved easily, but their own stupidity and ego escalated the situation even more," Ethan said as he crouched down and put Charlotte down
"Now, I need you to listen to me, you can't go back to the camp, you murder someone, so people won't feel safe around you, so I have a plan, and you won't like it, but I promise you, that nothing bad will happened to you," Ethan said as Charlotte looked at him in fear and confusion
"Are you going to kill me?" She asked but sighed in relief when Ethan shook his head no
Ethan started to take the bandages off his face as Charlotte looked at his scar in fear, Ethan opened the eye that was on the scar as it was bloodshot red "I didn't kill the bear alone, I got some help from a grounder, he's not from the same people that threw the spear to Jasper," Ethan said as he took out the horn Finnan had gave him and blew on it signaling his presence "His part of a great clan, who takes outcasts on it, you're going with him," Ethan said as Charlotte started hyperventilating in fear
"No, please, they're going to kill me," Charlotte said in fear as Ethan crouched down and put a hand on her shoulder
"Hey, hey, calm down, they're not going to hurt you," Ethan said as both of them heard a rustling and Finnan appeared on the scene making Charlotte winded in fear "Hey Charlotte look at me, I know he's scary and ugly," Ethan said as Finnan scoffed
"I'm masculine, not ugly," Finnan said as Ethan chuckled
"But I promise you, he won't do anything to you, he will listen to any command I give him," Ethan said as he side glare at Finnan silently telling him to follow with the ruse "Here watch, Finnan, kneel," Ethan ordered as Finnan took a knee to the ground
"See, if I tell him to protect you, he will," Ethan said as Charlotte looked at him in fear but still nodded "Rise up Finnan, I have a job for you," Ethan said as the male in front of him stood up and Ethan placed a hand on Charlotte's shoulder "This kid made a mistake, and if I bring her back to our camp they will shun her, I need you to take her to our people and make sure she's safe," Ethan said as Finnan "Treat her like she's me, understood?" Ethan said seriously
"Got it, lord," Finnan said as he crouched down in front of Charlotte "Little miss, I promise you nothing will happen to you, you'll love our little settlement," Finnan said as he put his hand forward
Charlotte hesitated for a moment and looked up at Ethan who reassure her with a nod, the little girl took Finnan's hand and the older male smiled as he stood up
"Until we meet again Charlotte," Ethan said as Finnan started leading Charlotte away as the little girl looked back at him with uncertainty but let herself be drag way
Ethan sighed as he took a seat on the end of the lake and watch how Finnan and Charlotte disappeared from the scene
He looked down and saw his reflection on the lake as he saw his red eyes shining bright red "Only the strongest of persons, are willing to do the most difficult decisions," Ethan whispered as his reflection started to change and he saw himself smiling widely like a mad man
"Time to get to work," Ethan mumbled as he stood up and walk back to the criminal's camp with a purpose, his bandages soon forgotten
Criminal camp
Ethan arrived as he saw Clarke and Bellamy talking to the rest of the criminals, he couldn't be bothered so he shrugged his shoulders and walked to his tent
He leaned on the side of his forge as he took a cigarette out and lit it up, he heard the chatter of the crowd hit his ears as he took a drag out of his cigarette
He stared into oblivion as he thought about everything that happened here, and a decision was made, he knew that once the people from the ark came down, he will leave everything behind, "No loyalty, only survival, may the stronger man win," Ethan whispered and then curse mentally as the scene in front of him changed as he found himself into a mindscape again
But this one was different from his previous one, instead of an empty dark area with mist surrounding the area, he found himself in a comfortable large bed, he lift himself as he sat on the bed and saw that he was in a luxurious suite as he rubbed his face and stood up from the bed and walked out of the room as the door automatically open up
He saw the penthouse in all its glory as he saw a beautiful state on the wall in front of him, everything about the apartment screamed rich
He heard something coming from the balcony as he walked down and saw a woman standing on the balcony smoking a cigarette and looking at the city
Ethan walked out to the balcony and stood behind the woman "Are you going to stand there like a gonk? Or are you going to join me here?" The woman asked rhetorically as Ethan walked to stand next to her
"Beautiful isn't it?" The woman said as Ethan looked at the futuristic city in amazement "Don't let it deceive you, Night City is beautiful at a simple glance, but is filled with pure filth," The woman said as Ethan took her features in
The woman had long brown hair with pink highlights, with the left side of her head clean shaved, with lines running on the bald spot on her head, she had a slim figure that screamed athleticism and power, and she was wearing a pair of dark jeans and dark boots, a black tight sleeveless tank top, and a jacket that had a red samurai mask on its back
"You should meet the other one, before we tell you everything you need to know," The woman said as someone glitched into existence next to Ethan
There was a man with long hair, some sunglasses on his face a nice clean shaved beard, a pair of military dog tags, some leather brown pants a pair of black boots, and a black tank top with the same samurai face plaster in the middle of it but his main feature was his silver metallic arm that was in place instead of his regular left arm
"So, this is the gonk who's housing our memories now?" The man said smirking at Ethan
"I'm sorry you'll have to deal with him, in my time he agreed to become one with the net, but somehow my chip had a part of him that was activated when you hit the ground," The woman said as the man glitched off and appeared next to the woman "My name's V, this idiot here is Johnny Silverhand, you know because of his silver hand," The woman said pointing at the metallic arm of Johnny
"Wait, hold up, chip? What do you mean about a chip?" Ethan said as V chuckled
"Is this what I looked like at the start of our journey?" V asked Johnny as the rocker boy laughed
"Nah, you were a bigger gonk than he is," Johnny said as V turned to Ethan
"You'll know what we're talking about in a moment after all the merger is about to begin, but before that happens, I think I should offer some advice, first, being at the top is great, but it doesn't matter if you don't have someone to share it with," V said as she directed her eyes to the city in front of her
"Secondly, that idiot is going to appear to you, like a companion that only you will be able to see, so every time you want to talk to him just think of what to say," V said as Ethan looked at her in confusion
"And you may be wondering, how are you going to see him, which brings me to my final advice, when you wake up, with all of our experiences, check your neck, you'll find a surprise in there," V said with a smile as she took out a gun from her back "Burn your name into history," V said as he shoots a bullet into Ethan's head as the teen fall back in shock
Ethan blinked with a gasp as he awoke right where he was previously as he started coughing a lot "She should've warned you, our deaths were excruciatingly painful," Johnny said as he appeared into existence Ethan fell to the ground with shallow breaths and incredible pain grew on his skin
Like with Uthred, he experienced it all, Johnny's life, his time at the Mexican war, his time at the samurai band, his past love with Alt Cunningham, how he had lost her, and how he decided to nuke the ones who killed her
Then he experienced V's life, how she grew up on the streets of Night City, how she became a street rat, how she met Jackie, how they got the job from Dexter Deshawn, who it all when to shit whit Jackie dying and her following him into death
How she came back to life and how she learned that she had a terrorist on her mind that was slowly eating her away and taking over her body
And how she became a legend by trying to survive and how she fell in love with a lovely mechanic but because of her own greed and search for power she lost her, and how her own sickness ended up killing her
Ethan grabbed his head in pain as he leaned on the forge as managed to control his breath
"Painful wasn't it?" Johnny said with a smirk on his face "You should do what V told you and check your neck," Johnny said as Ethan looked up at him
Ethan raised an eyebrow in confusion as he touched the left side of his neck and frowned when he felt something off
He felt like there was a patch of skin there hiding something, so Ethan scratched it and pull it off as he ripped the patch off
He stared at the patch in confusion as he saw that that part of his skin was fake, he drew his sword and used it as a reflector to see what was there
He saw two thin black lines that looked like compartments, the kind you used to insert chips and USB devices
"What the fuck?" Ethan asked out loud dropping the sword in shock and then grabbing his head in pain "Wait, back then, people modify themselves, they become something else," Ethan whispered as he lift his head up when he heard Johnny chuckling
"The term is Cyberpunk, and you my friend are one," Johnny said as he looked at Ethan's tent "Get some rest samurai, we got a world to burn," Johnny said as he disappeared
Ethan leaned his head back as he looked to the sky sorting all his memories for further use, he looked at the sky and his eyes winded when he saw a shooting star crossing the dark sky
