It's been a few weeks since the decision they all decided to take. Each one of them was assigned a patrol zone. Jason had jumped at calling Crime Alley as his own and that no one else could even think about taking over. None of them argued on the matter and let Jason have the place

Criminals seemed to take advantage of the fact that Batman was now dead. In the past weeks, every 2 days a new crime was being committed and not by the Arkham villains, but by regular crooks and gangs. Seems that Batman had been a symbol of fear among those to scared enough to do anything that with him gone, they felt they no longer had anything to fear and were free to do as they pleased

It hasn't been easy for the four protégés, dealing with the many criminals running around. Both Tim and Jason having the most to deal with due to their assigned areas. Still, that didn't mean neither Dick nor Barbara had their own days of it looking as if it were the lunch rush for crime

"That's the fifth one this week! It's like they're growing on trees!" Tim grumbled as he entered his report into the computer "I get that Bruce was a symbol, but all of us were his partners too. You'd think that would give them some kind of message and not keep causing crime"

"Maybe a more lethal method is needed" Jason suggested with a toy gun in his hands before getting it snatched away by Dick

"No killing or even sending lethal messages. We all agreed to honor Bruce and stick to his rules. We agreed you could use rubber bullets and that should be enough good enough for you" Dick told him as Jason rolled his eyes but didn't argue against him

"We should just count ourselves lucky that none of the guys at Arkham have escaped. Heck Joker has been awfully quiet and not like himself lately. Some calling him 'a model prisoner' or something. Guess Bruce's death affected him enough to not care anymore" Barbara commented as on the screen it showed Joker lying on his bed with a skulking expression

"Well, that's one less crazy to worry about" Jason agreed with a glare at the screen. He still believed Joker deserved death for all the lives he's ruined, but Jason wasn't going to break his promise he'd made in order to honor Bruce for all he's done

"It's like these people don't have anything better to do than to steal, commit a crime or just get into fights" Dick sighs at hearing that, his eyes trailing towards the group photo they took a long time ago. Those were the days, how they've changed with Bruce dead

"Come on, if we sit here any longer I'm sure those crazies will think they've bested us and start a revolution. Wouldn't want my favourite place in Gotham to become a bon fire show" Jason joked, trying to lighten the mood

"So not the right choice of words" Tim mumbled but did have a small smile forming on his face, while was what Jason wanted from the baby bird

"I guess this is the aftermath of what Gotham is like without a Batman. Still, I want to believe with us still protecting the city, it will soon become how it once was when Bruce was still with us" Dick says with a sad, yet happy expression

I know this story was set on complete, but I wanted to add another chapter for some reason. Maybe I'll make this have more chapters, who knows. I have yet to play the game so if I do continue, this was now be considered an AU.
P.S. I watched the Gotham Knights show and well what do you all think about it?
