A/N: Thank you all for reading and reviewing the last chapter. This chapter has been written for awhile, but editing took some time and I kept changing several of the scenes. So, instead of taking a few more weeks, I'm just throwing it out there in hopes that you all enjoy. My goal now is to at least get a chapter out once every 3-4 weeks. I don't want it to be close to two months like this time. Again, thank you for reading and sticking with me on this crazy angsty ride.
The blood flowing down her throat was like the sweetest nectar against her tongue. It was so delicious; subduing a craving she felt like had overpowered her for a month, even though it had been nowhere near that long. As she was close to being done, she started to become aware of hands encircling her waist, gradually caressing her as if these hands had known every intricate detail of her body. His hands were now on her ass, giving it a tight squeeze, making her unconsciously grind even further into him. The soft moans were low in his throat, and she could feel it vibrating off of her tongue with every pull she took from him.
When she finished, she licked around the bite wounds, removing the excess blood from his neck, not even aware of his hands in her hair. That's when Bonnie became fully aware that she was in fact straddling Klaus Miikaelson on her living room sofa. And although they were both clothed, she could feel him against her core. She was just thankful that she opted for pants today instead of a skirt.
When she moved to get off of him, he gripped her waist, causing herself to sit back down on him, and it took some clear concentration to not react at the sensation that flowed through her. Klaus may have been a very lethal powerful hybrid, but he was also all male and if she could feel what she felt through their clothes, she couldn't help but wonder how it would feel if they were both naked.
Get a grip Bonnie, she thought to herself. But how could she when he was staring at her like he wanted to eat her. He was staring at her like she had all the power, and in the position they were in, she technically did.
But, how did it get to this point? Well, one week ago after her very vivid dream of Damon, she made the decision to move back to her Grams' house. It would be better for her if she put a good amount of space between them. It was no secret that he wasn't too happy about it, but it surprised her that he didn't try to change her decision like last time.
So, for the last week she spent most of her time here, avoiding Damon and the boarding house altogether. It was probably the cowards' approach, especially because it was only a dream, but Bonnie was able to admit to herself that she was scared she would start confusing that dream with their reality everytime he walked into a room, and she would never be ready for that.
Which led her to the day before yesterday when her intense craving for blood came back. She honestly thought she finally had a handle on it, but after going through an immense amount of blood bags, and tapping into Caroline's wrist, she knew there was only one person who could help her.
And after Bonnie made the decision to unblock Klaus's number, he ended up standing on her porch today, with the infamous, "Hello, love." That would never make her swoon on any given day, but today…. today, it made her want to get lost in him.
"I'm surprised you came all this way."
"Luckily for you, I was headed to Mystic Falls to take care of a family matter, so it must have been kismet that you contacted me."
Bonnie smirked, "And here I thought you came just for me."
Flirting. She was flirting with Klaus Mikaelson. She was definitely blaming it on her blood cravings.
"And will you…?" His lips were were so close to her ear.
She looked at him confused. "Will I what?"
"Come for me…"
Bonnie remembered practically jumping on him a mere second later, sinking her fangs into his jugular. That was the only way she could think of to get him to stop talking. She couldn't handle anything else coming out of his mouth, and that accent did not help one bit.
And now, they were back to staring at each other with her legs one either side of his waist. When she saw his eyes glance at her lips, she knew what would come next if she allowed it.
But she wouldn't.
She struggled to move again, and ultimately ended up off of his lap.
"We can't do this again," Bonnie may have felt rejuvenated, but she couldn't call on Klaus just because she was a broken vampire. She had to figure out how to subdue her cravings on her own. "You shouldn't have come."
"I didn't." He gave that shit eating grin. "But I'm sure I could have with your help."
Bonnie rolled her eyes, and turned to walk to the front door. She was about to open it, but his hand prevented that, causing her to turn around. For him to be any closer, she would be wearing him like a second skin. His eyes kept glancing at her lips, and she couldn't help but follow his movements.
Klaus then bit into his finger causing a small pool of blood to appear, and rubbed it gently against her lips. Bonnie let him dip his finger inside of her mouth, and that shocked the hell out of her.
"Dear Bonnie, the things I would do to you if you'd let me in…just once." His nose was touching hers now and it felt like they were about to enter a game of who would take each other's lips first.
Bonnie's eyes closed as she felt his breath against her lips. For a split second she considered it; considered letting Klaus kiss her. She was even sure that it would lead to more than just kissing. She knew that he had the means to devour her whole.
Her phone going off, let her know she had a text message, and she was grateful that it brought her back to reality.
"Saved by the bell." His voice filled her ears as he took a step back.
Bonnie looked at the text message from Caroline, letting her know she was running late to the calendar photoshoot. Damnit, she completely lost track of time.
"Look, thank you for doing this again for me, but I have to go, so that means you have to go, and let's just pretend this never happened." She began straightening up and grabbing her belongings to head out.
He smirked, "Next time you call on me, love, which you will, I'm positive it will be for more than just my blood."
"I'm not having sex with you."
"Never say never, love. But, that was not what I was referring to."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
When she finally looked up from what she was doing, he was gone, and her door was wide open.
Bonnie took a breath. She had to admit, she was incredibly horny, and she knew if she gave Klaus the greenlight he would destroy her. He would probably be able to tame every part of her urges, and as much as she wanted to erase the thought from her mind, there was a part of her that was not going to let it go that easily.
It didn't take long for Bonnie to arrive at the boarding house, but when she did, she was a little surprised to see Stefan and Elena outside talking, with the latter looking very upset.
"Is everything okay?"
Elena crossed her arms, "Caroline has gone completely crazy. I'm just trying to help and she keeps snapping at me."
"I'm sure she doesn't mean it."
A little white lie never hurt anyone right? Bonnie knew how Caroline could get when she was over an event, so she was one hundred percent sure that if Caroline was showing some hostility towards Elena, then she definitely meant it. Plus, both of them still being at odds over the dinner party from hell last week was just icing on the cake.
"She keeps looking at me in disgust, she talks over me, and any idea I try to give her she shoots down." Elena explained. "Bonnie, I don't know what I've done to her."
Bonnie had to concentrate on not rolling her eyes at the doppelganger. That statement alone proved that Elena was whining for attention, because there was no way she was that clueless on the shitshow she caused last week. She was just surprised that she was receiving said attention from her ex and not her soon to be fiance'.
"I guess I should go inside and see what I can do."
"You should just stay out here with us, instead of dealing with the wrath of Caroline." Elena rolled her eyes.
Stefan spoke up before Bonnie could, "The photographer had an emergency and had to leave."
Bonnie's eyes widened and then she hurriedly made her way inside. Of course Caroline would be lashing out. The auction was the day after tomorrow and they were down a photographer.
"I am so glad you're here!" Caroline all but tackled Bonnie in a hug as soon as she walked through the door.
"Can you believe that the photographer had to go because his wife is in labor! Like are you kidding me right now?"
Before Bonnie could say absolutely anything, Caroline began talking to someone through her earpiece. Whoever was on the other line was clearly not telling her what she wanted to hear because she walked away with a few very unhinged expletives coming from her mouth.
Bonnie just shook her head and walked towards the living room. The majority of the guys for the calendar were standing around, some talking to each other, and some fiddling around on their phones trying to not be bored. A few had their shirts off and the rest were dressed in their attire for the photoshoot. The only person she didn't see standing in the crowd was Damon, and well, of course Stefan because he was still outside.
Instead of mingling with the crowd, she chose to walk into the kitchen, and pick at some of the snacks she left before moving out.
"Looking for me?"
Bonnie jumped and turned around to see Damon standing in the doorway. He was wearing the hell out of a black on black suit. She definitely had to pull herself together and stop certain thoughts from entering her mind.
"I was actually about to go say hi to Matt and Ty," she lied, and a smirk graced his lips because he knew as much.
"Hmm," He walked closer, "So, are you here to stop Blondie from going on a warpath with this stupid photoshoot crap."
"It's not stupid. It's for a good cause." Bonnie had to literally think about not stuttering and acting weird in front of him. Ever since that night, the dream kept popping into her mind, and now that she was in front of him again all she could do was feel his lips on her skin.
She definitely had to get a grip on herself. Damon was her best friend, and she couldn't imagine ruining it over a silly dream.
"Sure. We all know this is just Caroline trying to do something in this town to make her summer not so boring."
"And even if it is, it's still a good event that she's putting on for the community. To which I hope you'll be on your best behavior." She knew all too well how Damon could be.
He walked closer and now they were standing just a few inches away from each other. "I haven't murdered anyone from being in my home too long and making a mess in my living room. I feel like I've come a long way."
She laughed, because she knew he was serious. But, then she had to look away a bit, because he was staring at her a little too intently.
"So," he cleared his throat. "Should I lose the tie?"
Bonnie took a second to regain her composure. She was not going to make every interaction with Damon awkward. So, she did what she would have done before she had a sex dream about him, and began adjusting his collar and removing his tie.
"Yeah, I think it's better without." When she was about to move her hands, he grabbed one and placed a light kiss on it.
Bonnie's ovaries exploded.
"Thanks, Bon Bon."
She looked at her hand still in his and then back at him.
"Are you going to move back in yet?" His voice was soft against her skin. "We miss you…. I miss you."
"You could visit, you know?" Bonnie removed her hand from his grasp, hoping that tingling sensation that flowed through it would disappear.
"Oh, that's an option, now?"
"It was never not an option."
"Really, because you made the decision to leave pretty quickly and you won't take any of my phone calls or text me back. I thought we got over our issues."
"We have, it's just…" Of course the image of him between her legs would pop up causing her to back away just a bit. "I just needed some space."
"From me?" He asked, "Why?"
Her eyes briefly glanced at his lips, imagining him on top of her about to position himself inside of her.
"Because I think I have an idea, and maybe we should talk about it."
It was Caroline who rushed in, cutting their conversation short. "Okay, so I have the best idea!" She paused and looked between them, "Am I interrupting something?"
Bonnie gave Caroline the we'll talk later look, while it took Damon a little longer to look away from Bonnie.
"When is this going to be over? If there's no photographer, can everyone leave now?"
"We actually do have a photographer." she beamed. " I don't know why I didn't think of it before."
"Who?" Bonnie asked, stepping a little further from Damon.
"You."
Her eyes shifted back to Caroline. "Me?"
"Yes, you took a photography class at Whitmore, and it's been like a hobby of yours since forever."
"It's just an elective and it was a hobby I never pursued."
"Okay, but you're really good."
"Thanks, but I don't even have a camera."
"That's okay, the equipment is already set up. Since Mr. new daddy had to rush out, he left everything here."
Bonnie reluctantly agreed. But only because she needed to keep her mind off of Damon. Had he really kissed her hand? Not that he hadn't kissed her hand or her cheek before. The raven haired vampire was a huge flirt, but something seemed way different this time.
And it was entirely too much for her to process right now.
Damon would have given himself a pat on the back if he could. He honestly felt like he was displaying an immense amount of growth and he deserved a gold star. No one could tell him differently. The old Damon would have had a fit, upset that Bonnie chose to move out after she decided she wouldn't. He would have gone to her house every day and demanded her to come back, but he held it together and did none of those things. Granted, he wouldn't be Damon if he didn't ask her when she was coming back to stay.
It did, however, take every ounce of him not to question the smell of Klaus on her again, but he succeeded in keeping his mouth shut. To keep the friendship they had, he knew he couldn't bring that up again. And if she decided to lose her mind and run off with Klaus, then he would have to be okay with it… after killing them all.
But, that was neither here nor there.
Honestly, Damon just needed to keep his concentration on Elena, who was somewhere around here, instead of the infectious laughter that was infiltrating his ears. Bonnie was taking pictures of the guys like she had been doing photography her whole life. It was as if she was made for this, telling them what to do and getting them angled just right. The smile plastered to her lips pulled something in his chest.
When it was Stefan's turn, he walked back inside, with Elena beside him. Damon noticed the way she gave his brother a soft smile, before she came over to stand next to him. Once upon a time, them being so close would have bothered him, especially after their history, but now he really didn't feel much of anything.
And that should actually bother him.
"I thought you were going to keep the tie."
He shrugged, "Realized I looked better without it." Or, moreso he listened to Bonnie about how he should look versus his girlfriend who told him earlier today he should ditch it.
"I'm glad you finally listened to me." She smiled, and intertwined her fingers with his and leaned her head on his shoulder. "I can't wait until we take that road trip… just the two of us."
Yeah, about that…
"Caroline's been such a bitch to me lately and I don't know what's going on."
Now, that was one thing Damon could agree on. He had no idea why Caroline was constantly snapping at Elena lately, but he had a feeling Elena wasn't as innocent as she always claimed to be. He had a feeling his girlfriend was playing the victim role, and if he was a great boyfriend he probably would have picked up on it already, but he was too busy concentrating on his little witch… well vampire. Little vamp? He needed to think of a new nickname.
Instead, he squeezed his Elena's hand gently and brought it up to his lips for a kiss. That was the best thing to do right now, the only thing to do to prove to himself that his priority needed to be with his girlfriend.
Bonnie had to admit, taking photos of the guys for the calendar was pretty fun. She hadn't laughed this much in awhile, and it got her mind off a certain blue eyed raven haired vampire.
Everyone took direction pretty well and were all pretty easy to work with. Stefan and Tyler had been the easiest, Jeremy made it a tad bit awkward, subliminally asking her out on a date, but she just did the whole fake laugh thing and kept it moving. Matt was nervous but he did incredible. Five of the guys were a blur but nice and made her laugh, even though they decided to flirt, hoping she would notice. Then that just left Damon and a guy named Clarke. Also, Enzo had yet to show up, and Caroline had already called him at least ten times.
At least.
Clarke was up next and Bonnie had to admit, he was extremely cute.
"Alright, where do you want me?" His voice was warm and flirtatious. Bonnie liked the sound of it and it piqued her interest as she directed him how to stand.
"You don't remember me do you?"
She couldn't say that she had. But then it dawned on her a couple minutes later. "Mrs. Stephens class, junior year of high school."
"Ah, you do remember me? And to think the beautiful Bonnie Bennett actually noticed me."
Bonnie couldn't help but blush. Clarke had definitely grown up since their junior year in a very good way. "I make it a point to notice everyone in my classes."
"Ah, so it wasn't that you thought I was hot or anything."
"I plead the fifth." She giggled. Which was a shock to her ears. Bonnie had been out of the game so long, she almost forgot how to flirt back to someone she barely knew.
After she finished up his pictures, he walked up to her.
"So, you have to tell me, has my flirting earned me your phone number?"
"Not at all, but I'm sure if you practiced a tad bit more, I could be inclined to give it to you." Was that a double innuendo coming from her lips?
Lust slammed into her body instantly, surprising the hell out of her. Yes, Clarke was good looking, there was no doubting that, but he wasn't drop your panties at the sight of him, fine. So, why had she envisioned doing so and sitting on his face just now?
Her skin began to flush. "Okay, I think that's it."
"Can I see?"
No. She wanted to say, because if he got too close she may not know how to act, but of course she couldn't just outright act cold at the drop of a dime.
"Sure."
Right as he was about to walk over, he bumped into one of Damon's expensive vases and it shattered to the ground. She knew that Damon would probably lose his mind, but that thought vanished as soon as Clarke tried picking up the pieces, cutting his hand in the process.
She barely heard him say ouch, as the blood oozing out of his hand caught her attention. She tried to control the veins that threatened to form around her eyes, but the strong smell of his blood was making her lose what little ounce of control she had. The craving to drink from him was so strong and it was shocking because she had just got her fill from Klaus this morning. Not only that, but human blood normally didn't satisfy her.
However, she wanted his blood.
Bonnie could feel her incisors lengthen and before she realized it, she was standing in front of Clarke by using her vampire speed. It caught everyone in the room off guard except for one person.
One person who had been watching the sudden change in her.
Right before Bonnie ripped into Clarke's neck, Damon used his vampire speed to grab her and run into his study, slamming the door shut.
Damon heard Caroline, Stefan, and Elena compelling the humans who weren't privy to their supernatural scooby gang to forget what happened, go home, and meet at the venue the day after tomorrow for the auction. He even heard Enzo come in asking what he'd miss, and blondie going ape shit on him.
But, he had more important things to worry about, and he currently held her against the wall, as she rustled in his arms.
"Let me go, Damon. Just a little taste, I'm not going to hurt him."
"Normally I would be okay with you ripping apart some douchebag with horrible game, but I figured you don't really know what you're doing right now and would be upset about it later."
"I know exactly what I'm doing." She got away from Damon's grasp and sped to the door, but didn't get a chance to open it before he had her back against the wall.
Damon was actually amazed when she switched places with him so quickly and had him against the wall instead. Her fangs came back out and she practically growled at him, and he was never going to admit that it turned him on.
The moment her eyes widened, was the moment he knew she was coming down from the high she was on. She removed her hands from his shoulders, and Damon didn't like the loss of contact.
He even witnessed her glance at his throat for a moment and everything in him screamed to tell her to feed from him. Just once. But then again where would that ultimately leave them.
She found his eyes again, "I'm sorry…I…I don't know what came over me."
He could see that she immediately felt guilty. As the tears began to form in her eyes, he gently cupped her face in his hands.
"Hey hey, don't do that." He tried to calm her down so she wouldn't continue to think the worst. "You did nothing wrong. That guy out there, you practically saved him because I was going to kill him anyways."
It was very true. When that imbecile tried to flirt with his Bon Bon, he wanted to rip out his tongue and shove it up his…
Bonnie provided a small chuckle, but it was really only to save face. She was ultimately confused and upset that she didn't have any control in the situation.
She could have really hurt Clarke.
"Don't go back to that place in your head where you're trying to understand your fight with control. It happens to the best of us."
If one thing Bonnie could say about Damon is that he knew her. He knew exactly where her head was at and she really appreciated him being there for her.
However, as much as she wanted to thank him, she couldn't get those exact words out. Instead she grabbed onto his hands that were still cupping her face. If anyone were to walk in right now they would assume that something intimate was taking place.
"Damon," She paused for a moment, and as the veins made their way back around her eyes. "I'm really hungry."
He could have said something vulgar at that moment, but instead, he looked around for a second, and grabbed the letter opener off of his desk. When he slit it along the side of his neck, Bonnie watched as the blood pooled out, and literally just stared for a moment, not believing he really just did that.
"You may want to hurry Bon, you know we heal fast."
Damon's blood called to Bonnie and made her stomach growl to the point of pain. She was one millisecond from running to him to take what he was offering, but Elena walking through the door stopped her before she lurched forward.
Caroline and Stefan were next.
Great fucking timing. Damon groaned inwardly and walked over to his desk, grateful that his wound closed up so no one would ask questions, but pissed beyond words that he was this close to feeling her lips on his skin. He wanted to kill all three of them for interrupting.
Caroline walked over to Bonnie, sitting her down as she ripped through a blood bag. "Do you need my wrist?"
Bonnie glanced at Damon briefly and then nodded to Caroline.
She instantly bit into her wrist, and Bonnie's mouth covered the wound, drinking enough to curb her craving, but not nearly enough to make Caroline woozy.
"Damon, are you okay?" He didn't register what Elena said until her hand softly touched his shoulder.
He didn't realize he had been throwing daggers at Caroline with his eyes. There was no way he could be upset that Bonnie was feeding from her second best friend. He could understand if he was witnessing her feeding from Stefan then he would have stabbed his brother with a vervain stake in every area but his heart, just so he would suffer.
"Yeah," he said, pulling her into a hug. He caught Stefan's eyes, and he knew exactly what his brother was thinking, even though he would never say it out loud.
"I'm sorry about the calendar." Bonnie's voice pulled the brothers out of their thoughts.
"Screw the calendar. Are you okay?" Caroline pulled her friend into a hug. "I thought you got your fix this morning." she whispered the last part, even though she was in a room full of vampires.
It didn't surprise Damon to hear Caroline say that to Bonnie, because he figured that's why he smelled the hybrid on her this morning. No matter how much he wanted to show exactly how upset he was and how territorial he was, he knew he couldn't do that.
Bonnie nodded, "I did, so I'm not sure what happened out there. But thank you all for stepping in when you did. I owe you one." She looked around at everyone. She was grateful but still very confused over what happened. The last time she fed from Klaus, she hadn't felt the craving for blood for a few weeks. What the hell was going on now? Because she not only wanted to drink from Clarke, she wanted to fuck him.
And let's not mention what she wanted to do to Damon when he practically offered himself to her. And then what happened with Klaus this morning.
Something just wasn't right.
"I'm just glad you're okay, Bon." Elena spoke up and sat down on the other side of her. "And since you're here today and it's getting late, you should just stay the night and we all watch a movie. Damon, Stefan, can you give Bonnie, Care, and I a minute please? We need to have some girl talk."
Bonnie wasn't expecting those words to come out of Elena's mouth.
"If that's okay with you both?"
She and Caroline nodded.
"As long as we get to pick the movie." Damon interjected.
Elena agreed, "But nothing scary please."
Her back was to him when she said it, so she didn't see him look over to Bonnie with his next words, "I was thinking about The Bodyguard. Haven't seen it in awhile. Brings back memories."
Bonnie glanced at him for a split second but then looked back at the girls. After all of this time, no one knew that was their movie together.
Well Damon assumed no one knew, but he noticed Stefan and Caroline both look at him at separate times.
Needless to say, Damon grabbed his bourbon and followed Stefan out of the study. He would definitely be eavesdropping.
Bonnie wasn't sure why she expected their conversation to go different than what it did. Elena started off with apologies but then ran right into playing the victim card as was expected. Bonnie and Caroline really didn't get a word in or express how they had been feeling ever since she was brought back from that eternal sleep. So, the fact of the matter was nothing really got resolved, Bonnie and Caroline couldn't get a word in, and Elena felt happier than ever that she got to speak her mind.
"You both are my best friends. I want things to go back to the way they were. And when Damon does propose, I want you both to still be my bridesmaids. The way we always planned."
Bonnie and Caroline gave a weak smile but did partake in a group hug. After that, they spent a few hours helping Caroline with the auction planning. Elena was the first to leave, explaining how exhausted she was, even though all she did was look through the pictures of the calendar. Caroline and Bonnie spent another hour trying to finish up, before Caroline fell asleep on the floor and Bonnie fell asleep on the couch with her laptop parched on her stomach.
As Damon made his way downstairs, he was hoping if he stayed longer than expected, Elena would fall asleep. He just wasn't in the mood to do what she wanted to do tonight. Right as he was about to head towards the kitchen, he noticed Bonnie and blondie asleep in his living room.
Damon chose that moment to place one of the throw blankets over her, but that little action caused her to shift and open her eyes.
Bonnie yawned yet gave him a light smile as she set up further and stretched. Damon couldn't help but watch every movement, noticing the way her shirt rolled up giving him a sneak peak of her smooth stomach.
"What time is it?," she whispered, bringing his eyes back to hers.
"Close to midnight. You don't have to sleep down here. You still have your room, you know?"
She sat up a little more to make room for him to sit down. "I'll probably wake Care up and get to bed in a few. Sorry we couldn't have movie night by the way. With the auction being the day after tomorrow, we really needed to focus."
"I'm sure we'll have plenty more movie nights, now that you're not mad at me anymore." He decided what better time than to talk about the elephant in the room.
"I was never mad at you." She shifted a bit, trying to get comfortable. "We talked and everything is good between us."
Damon noticed she wasn't looking him in the eyes, which meant she was lying.
"Yeah, we talked Bon Bon and we kissed and made up, minus the kissing." he winked, earning a well expected shove from her. "But then all of a sudden you're moving out, with not much of an explanation. What was I supposed to think?"
Before she could adjust herself again, Damon grabbed her feet and laid them on top of his legs.
"Damon…" She tried removing her feet, but he held them in place.
"Not until you tell me what's going on. I mean I have an idea…"
"Well if you have an idea, why do I have to say anything?"
"Because I want to hear it from you."
Damon would win this staring contest they were now having with each other. And he was right, because he watched as Bonnie's eyes briefly glanced to his lips and then back up to his eyes.
"I'll tell you, but not now. I just need some time, can you give me that?"
He hesitated for a moment, but she was his best friend and he would give her what she asked for, because what they needed to talk about might change the course of their friendship.
"So, in other news, who are you bidding on in this little auction? Tell me it's your favorite blue eye stud of a best friend."
Bonnie laughed, but then held her composure so she wouldn't wake up Caroline. "I'm going to be working the event, I'm not bidding on anyone."
"Oh come on, don't you want to spend the night with me?"
She gave him a look.
Yeah, he probably could have rephrased that better. "Get your head out of the gutter, my little vampire. I'm just saying that you'll get the luxury of hanging out with yours truly."
"I already get to hang out with you. Might as well give another girl in Mystic Falls a chance. Well, that is if your fiance doesn't bid on you."
He rolled his eyes, really wishing she would let that last part go. "First of all you shatter me, passing me off to another girl, second, Elena isn't bidding on me because she gets me everyday, and third, she is not my fiance'."
Damon hadn't even realized he was massaging Bonnie's feet, and neither did she.
"Excuse me, my bad, future fiance' then. I heard you went back to the jewelry store."
Damnit, Stefan. Of course he couldn't hold water when it came to Caroline, and she would immediately run to Bonnie to tell her any and everything.
"Well, if you weren't leaving me on read every day, you would have heard it from me and not the two musketeers."
"Touche'."She shrugged.
This would have been the perfect time to bring up Klaus to get information on exactly what happened this morning, but he chose to keep his mouth shut and continue massaging her feet.
Bonnie finally noticed and to his surprise she didn't move.
"How are you from earlier?"
She leaned over to put the laptop on the floor and then replaced it with a pillow to rest her hands. "Embarrassed to be honest. If you guys weren't there…"
"It happens to the best of us. Plus, his flirting was embarrassing so you have nothing to worry about."
Damon could tell by the way she tried to smile was really just a front, because her mind was going a mile a minute.
"Do you think this is going to happen all the time? I'm in month two of being a vampire, and I may be better than how I was in the beginning, but this time…this time something was different. Human blood hasn't really satisfied any of my blood cravings but I wanted to drain him dry." And sit on his face. But, she chose to leave that part out. "And it's crazy because I already fed this morning so I really don't know what happened."
Damon unconsciously moved up to massage her legs. "Don't rush yourself, you're still a newbie and we all handle things in different ways. Plus you were a witch before this, so trust me when I say, getting used to vampirism can take time."
"Okay who are you and what have you done with my Damon?"
He tried to push down the feeling that consumed him when she said my Damon. Would it be too much for him to elaborate on that and say that he would be hers forever. Probably so, so he chose to situate himself between her legs and lay his head on her stomach.
"Damon, what are you doing?"
He faked a yawn. "I'm getting tired, and I remember how comfortable it was to lay on you in the prison world."
"Yeah, but that was literally only one time, because you wanted me to read to you and you were getting all needy."
"Yeah, every other time it was you laying on me."
"That was just one time too."
"I recall more than that." He smirked. "I'll get up in a few. Is it a crime that I want to lay on my best friend for a few minutes? Only time I get to have just an ounce of her time."
When she didn't say anything, and the silence between them lasted a little longer than expected, he raised his head and looked up at her.
She was staring at him. "You miss me that much?"
"Is that so bad?" He laid his head back down, surprised that she began to run her fingers through his hair.
Damon hadn't felt this comfortable in awhile, and because of that he must have nodded off. It felt like it was just for a split second, but when he woke up she was gone.
Bonnie stood in her room upstairs, leaning against the door as she took a few deep breaths. Laying on that couch with Damon was too much and for all intensive purposes it was inappropriate. And yet she felt like she could have stayed there forever.
The boy toy auction was packed.
Bonnie was actually surprised because Mystic Falls wasn't a huge town and with it being summer, many of the locals vacationed elsewhere. But tonight it looked like the biggest city on the east coast.
And she was proud of her best friend for putting this on and giving everyone something to do. When she made her way backstage, all the guys were standing in a straight line and Caroline was making sure the MC was ready for tonight. At first Bonnie assumed Caroline would be the host, but she explained how she was planning on bidding for Stefan. And that was definitely understandable.
"Bonnie! I'm glad you came back here," Caroline practically pushed the MC out of the way to get to her. "How are the calendar sales going?"
"So good that we're almost sold out."
"That's perfect! Can you walk the line and make sure the guys are ready to go?"
Bonnie glanced at the twelve men standing not too far from her. She wasn't blind. They were all good looking and with the way she's been feeling lately, she had to do her best to keep down the rush of excitement that pulsed down below.
As she checked on each guy, they were ready as they would ever be. But she did give words of encouragement to Matt, laughed with Stefan, rolled her eyes when Enzo said something inappropriate, and ignored Jeremy when he tried to get her to budge on bidding on him tonight.
That left Clarke and Damon.
If she were bidding tonight, she'd probably choose Clarke. After the other day, she still wanted to feel his blood on her tongue while letting him put his face between her legs.
Okay, intrusive thoughts just took all the way over.
And then there was Damon. She stayed away from him yesterday after their little moment the night before. When he fell asleep laying on her, it was the safest she had felt in a long time. It was a level of normalcy she still craved at times.
"So, you sure you're not going to bid on me tonight?"
Bonnie smiled, adjusting his collar. "If I did choose to bid, who said it would be on you?"
He smirked and she eyed him up and down.
Down, girl. She had to tell herself.
"Cause none of these other losers can…"
"Damon!" Caroline interrupted, appearing out of nowhere. "Bonnie has more important things to do right now instead of talking about whatever it is you're talking about."
If Bonnie would have looked back at him, she would have seen the way his eyes were following her.
The auction began a few minutes later with Caroline up on stage thanking everyone for coming and to get ready for a great night. Before it was the MC's turn to take the mic, Caroline hit them all with a curve ball that not even Bonnie had any idea about.
After the date you take your guy on, you have to end the evening with a kiss.
It was a good thing she decided not to pick anyone. With the way her mindset was right now, kissing could lead to other things and Bonnie wasn't sure if she had that set of control right now.
"I feel like I haven't seen you all day." Elena came to stand beside Bonnie.
"Decoration duty. I thought you were coming to help." Bonnie glanced at her but remained focused on the first guy up.
The ladies were already screaming ready to bid all their money.
"I was on my way, but got caught up with Damon. You know how it is." Elena blushed.
Bonnie would have given anything to be able not to have heard Elena right now. But of course with being a vampire, no matter how noisy the crowd was, she heard her as clear as day.
About forty five minutes later, there were three guys left to bid on. Bonnie was so close to bidding on Matt because he came out to a really sweet song and was giving off teddy bear cuddling material vibes. He would have been a safer bet. But she held strong.
Surprisingly, standing next to Elena didn't seem awkward and almost felt like old times. And when Caroline appeared and stood beside them it felt like their little trifecta was complete. This is what Bonnie wanted this summer even after everything. All of them getting along and going back to the way things used to be.
"Okay, Stefan is up next, I'm ready."
As soon as Stefan walked out, he dropped down to the ground and did a few push ups with one hand behind his back, making the women in the audience go wild. Women began shouting out numbers left and right. "Fifty, sixty, seventy." It was Caroline who yelled out "eighty" which led to more women screaming. "Ninety, ninety-five."
Caroline yelling out one hundred and fifty dollars, made the MC give the famous line: "one hundred fifty going once, one hundred fifty going twice…"
Bonnie and Caroline did not expect Elena to yell out "Two hundred dollars." They both looked at her in shock that they missed the fact that a bidding war could have still taken place.
But because they were so shocked, Elena ended up winning the bid.
Her smile was extremely big, as she jumped with excitement.
"What the hell Elena?"
The anger in Caroline's eyes was not missed, luckily the rest of the crowd was too busy concentrating on Enzo, as he strolled out next.
"Don't be upset, Care." Elena pleaded, trying to give her best doe eye routine. "It's not what you think. Stefan and I haven't really spent any time together since I've been back, and I miss my friend. I already discussed this with Damon, and he's cool about it."
Before Caroline could say anything, Elena spoke again. "I'll make sure to talk you up to him." Then she walked away.
Bonnie turned to Caroline. "Count to ten."
"I'm already on twenty." she fumed. "I knew her apology yesterday was a load of…." She tried to take a deep breath. "I don't need anyone to talk me up to Stefan, least of all her."
Regardless of how upset Caroline was, she still wanted to participate in her own event. So, she ended up bidding on Enzo. It was surprising to Bonnie to say the least, but it was either him or Damon so that made the choice pretty easy for her.
The last person to walk out was Damon. He had his shirt open, with some sexy song playing, making all the women in attendance lose their minds. The bid that won him was five hundred dollars.
The highest bid of the night.
Bonnie could only shake her head and laugh. She didn't really get a good look at who bid on him, but hopefully Damon would be on his best behavior.
After Caroline and Bonnie went on stage to thank everyone for coming, Bonnie was planning to hang around for a little while and then head home to get a blood bag or two.
"Bonnie?"
The voice was unfamiliar, and she didn't recognize the lady when she turned around at the sound of her name.
"Yes?"
The lady handed her a card. "I was told to give this to you."
"What?"
As the lady walked away as if she had been in a trance, Bonnie knew she had been compelled.
Bonnie opened the card.
Can't wait for our date tonight.- DS
She looked around immediately and caught Damon's eyes as he was still on stage, staring at her.
Saying she couldn't believe what he had done would be like not having any idea of who her best friend was and the lengths he would go through to get his way.
"You know that's called cheating." Bonnie crossed her arms and stared at him.
"I call it determination." He appeared in front of her so fast that it would have knocked any non supernatural being over.
"Damon, please tell me you did not compel that girl."
"I won't tell you that, but I will tell you that it was my own money, so it's not like she's out of five hundred dollars."
Bonnie laughed, "So technically, you bid on yourself?"
"More or less." He shrugged. "So, what do you say?"
Bonnie hesitated for a moment, but even though she felt like she should say no, she could see the sincerity in his eyes. Regardless of the dream she had and the weird feelings that plagued her, Damon Salvatore was still her best friend, so she couldn't spend the rest of her life avoiding and running from her issues.
"I didn't plan anything because I wasn't planning on bidding on anyone."
He gave that million dollar smile, "I'm already way ahead of you."
"Okay, fine, but you have to let me drive the Camaro."
Bonnie didn't expect Damon to let her drive his car. She was somewhat joking when she asked, but when he agreed, she didn't need to question his response. She also didn't expect for him to give her directions to her own house.
"Let me guess, you want me to pack some clothes and stay the night at the boarding house?" She asked as they walked to the front door.
"Would it be so bad? You only have a little over a month until you're back in Whitmore. You might as well finish the summer staying with me…. and the others."
As they entered, Bonnie walked towards the kitchen in need of a blood bag. "I'm sure you all don't even notice I'm not th-"
The items on the kitchen counter stopped her in her tracks. All the brunch foods you could imagine were spread out along with the champagne and orange juice to make mimosas, and a cute little gift bag. Damon knew that breakfast and brunch were her absolute favorite, no matter what time of the day it was.
"How did you? When did you?"
"I hired a chef, who was working on all of this while we were at the auction. But I did tell them to leave the ingredients for vamp cakes cause I figure we can make that together."
Bonnie's smile brought one to Damon's. He just loved the way her eyes lit up and was glad that he was the one to do it.
"So, you just knew that I would accept this bidding trickery?"
"I was hoping for it."
"Well, thank you Damon, this is really… nice. And honestly, nice is putting it mildly."
They stared at each other for a moment, but it was Damon who broke the awkwardness.
"Ready to make these vampcakes?"
"Yes." She popped a cut up pineapple in her mouth. She already knew that she was going to attack all of the fruit first.
Once they finished the pancakes, Bonnie was starting on her third mimosa, grateful that Damon poured a pinch of blood in them.
"You look nice tonight by the way."
Any other time Bonnie could handle a compliment, but the champagne and blood mixed together was making her feel all over the place, and the way Damon was looking in his black suit, made her question if she really should have accepted this 'date'.
"Thanks, I figured I've been in sweat pants all week, it was time to put on a dress and some make up."
It took Damon everything in him not to complement how sexy she looked in anything she had on, but he held it in. No need to make it anymore awkward for her, especially because the night wasn't over.
As they ate for a moment in silence, Bonnie broke it, "Damon, I still can't believe you did this. I really do appreciate it."
"I missed this." He admitted. "Just you and me like old times."
"Me too."
"Then you have to finally let me know what's been going on. Why did you move out? And why did you avoid me all day yesterday? We haven't been as close as we used to be and I have to admit, Bon Bon, I don't like it."
Bonnie tried to look everywhere but Damon's eyes but it was no use. Those cerulean blues held her captive.
"I've just been trying to take a back seat, you know? Now that Elena's back and after you spent so much time trying to help me through this vampire transition, I figured it's time you put your focus on her more. I mean you two are getting married."
He tried to hold his composure because he was so tired of Elena being brought up, even though he knew he shouldn't be. "Let's get one thing straight. You're a horrible liar, and Elena and I aren't getting married anytime soon, so be real with me Bon."
"Fine, but when we talk about this you can't hold it over my head, let it ruin our friendship, or joke about it in any way."
"Have you met me? It wouldn't be me if I didn't provide a joke or two."
"I'm serious, Damon."
"Fine. I'm all ears."
"Okay, so I had a dream about us… the night of the dinner party, the day before I left. It was a very vivid dream that I thought was really happening until I woke up and I just… I just couldn't face you afterwards, and I know it was just a dream so I shouldn't have let it bother me, but it did and…"
"So, in this dream you and I were…."
Bonnie put her head in her hands, "Intimate."
"So, you're having sex dreams about me?" He wiggled his eyebrows, causing Bonnie to throw a piece of fruit at him to which he caught and put it in his mouth. "Was dream me any good?"
"You gave me your word, no jokes."
"I'm sorry I'm sorry, but that's why you've been avoiding me, over a dream?"
"Well now that you say it like that it does sound silly."
"Trust me, sex with me could never be silly."
"Damon!"
"Bon Bon, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. And you don't need to avoid me. If I told you I had one about you that same night would it make you feel better?"
Bonnie's eyes widened as it dawned on her. "Wait… we didn't…?"
Bonnie knew that vampires could get into each other's minds and dreams to manipulate things. If Bonnie and Damon had been in each other's dream and had sex, she would never be able to forgive herself or face him ever again.
"No, we didn't. I would have known. It felt real though, but sorry to disappoint you, dream us wasn't having real sex."
Bonnie released the breath she had been holding. "Good, that's very good."
As she got up to put the dishes in the sink, Damon's voice entered her ears.
"But at least now I know something."
She turned around to him standing entirely too close to her.
"And what's that?" Bonnie tried not to let her voice betray her, but boy was she getting hot all of a sudden.
"That you want to know what it's like to…"
She put her hands to his chest, pushing him a little. "Do not finish that sentence. I barely even remember the dream."
"Yeah, because dream me has nothing on real me, I could show you.."
"Do you ever stop flirting? You know when you propose and get married, all that flirting has to stop."
"But it just comes natural with you, little vamp."
She walked around him. "Anyways, let's talk about anything else. I'm surprised you were okay with Elena bidding on Stefan."
Yeah, he definitely almost forgot about that. "I'm confident enough in our relationship to know that it's fine. Even though I told her it may not be the best idea because of Blondie."
"You would be correct. It's weird you know, I thought all three of us would have this sister bond for life, but everything's just so different now. Anytime Caroline is in the room with Elena she wants to claw her eyes out."
"What brought this on in the first place?"
Shoot, Bonnie almost forgot the reason what started them being at each other's throats. And technically, it would be wrong to tell Damon about what Elena said at girl's night. Especially because she was high and had consumed way too much alcohol. Plus, she didn't want to start anything or seem like she was trying to split them up. However, Damon was her friend too and he deserved to know.
Before she could say anything, her phone pinged, letting her know she had a text message from Caroline.
I'm not in a good place right now, I really need you.- C.
I'll be right there, let me know where you are.- B.
"I'm sorry, Damon, I hate to cut this short, but I have to go. Caroline needs me."
Damon felt like he could compete in an eye rolling contest with as many times as he's rolled his eyes in the last few days. Of course they couldn't just have one night where it was just them two without interruptions.
"Two things before you go. I got you something." He grabbed the small bag off the counter, and handed it to her.
"Damon, you didn't have to get me anything. All of this was more than enough."
"I wouldn't be Damon if I didn't show my own self up right?
Bonnie opened the bag to reveal a small box. It looked a little too much like a ring box, but she knew that definitely couldn't be it.
And she was definitely wrong.
It was a ring. An antique ring with an emerald in the middle. It was absolutely beautiful.
"Damon…" she breathed, and looked into his eyes.
She was actually shocked at how much closer he got to her without her even noticing.
"I… what…. what is this Damon?"
"I thought it was obvious."
"You can't…"
"I can."
"No, you can't give this to me. What…" Bonnie inspected it closer, because it looked really familiar. And then it dawned on her. "This looks a lot like your grandmother's ring. I mean your grandmother's ring didn't have the emerald, but this… I remember you showing it to me once before. I…"
She caught his eyes again, and they told her point blank that she was right.
"It's a friendship ring." He shrugged, but Bonnie wasn't stupid. He was trying to play it off, because a ring that only she, Stefan, and of course Dmaon knew about was not meant to be a 'friendship' ring.
"It was collecting dust, so I thought why not."
"You're giving me your grandmother's ring? The most important person to you back when you were human. You don't give that type of ring to your friend, Damon. You give this when you're proposing. You give this to your soulmate. This ring is meant for…"
"Please don't say her name right now. Bonnie, you are one of the most important people in my life, and I know this may not be the most characteristic thing, and I know what a ring like this is meant for, but I want you to have it because…"
"Because what…"She said softly when he paused.
"Because you are my best friend and I know things with us have been… not the same as it was and I just want you to know that you'll always be important to me. That no matter what happens, no matter who I'm with or you're with, that you'll always have a place in here." He brought her hand to his chest over his heart. "You know what I learned?"
Bonnie wiped her eyes as a few tears began to form. "What's that?"
"You can be someone's soulmate without actually being with them, and if you really think about it, that term is practically meant for us."
Bonnie's chest tightened, and the amount of emotions that were coursing through her right now was too much for even as a vampire to control.
"I um…. I really don't know what to say, I… we can't…I…"
"You don't have to say anything." Because as ridiculous as it sounds, he didn't want to hear Bonnie rejecting him or the ring. Even though he sounded absurd right now, because they were not together.
"I have to go." She walked towards the front door.
He was right behind her again. "You still owe me an end of the night kiss."
"I don't think that would be a good idea." If she were to kiss Damon right now, she honestly didn't know if she'd be able to stop. And they were already betraying Elena with this whole night.
"Why? Because we've had a sex dream about each other and I made it awkward about giving you a family heirloom?"
Bonnie chuckled, at his way of trying to make light of the situation. But he had to have known he couldn't just drop a bomb like that on her and everything would go back to normal.
"Well, when you put it like that, how could I not?"
As he bent down to capture her lips with his, she stopped him, "Just a peck."
Damon groaned in frustration, but did what she asked. He wanted more… he needed more, but it wasn't up to him.
They both stood there staring at each other, and the moment Damon's eyes glanced towards hers lips, Bonnie folded and damn near jumped in his arms, capturing his lips with hers. He held onto her as he kissed her so deeply, he never wanted to pull away.
Bonnie was the one who stopped it, remembering that she did have to leave. And also remembering that this wasn't right.
She touched her swollen lips as she turned to leave.
"I could stay." His voice stopped her, as she opened the door. "I could be here when you get back."
She knew exactly what he was asking without really asking.
"You slept with Enzo!" Bonnie's voice was louder than expected, but that could be because she was on her fourth shot, and Caroline's news just shocked the hell out of her.
Luckily the Grille wasn't crowded, so it's not like anyone would be in their business.
"I know I know," Caroline took her fifth shot. "It's just after the auction thing, we took a walk and I may have talked his ear off about Stefan and Elena, and then we went back to the boarding house, and I saw them both kissing, and it wasn't the end of the night kiss I expected from everyone. It was full on tongue in your mouth kiss. After I ran off, Enzo followed me saying all the right things, and next thing I knew I was sitting on top of him in my car."
"Car sex? Was it good?"
"Bonnie!"
"Sorry, sorry, I mean…" Bonnie paused for a moment. "Was it good?"
Caroline huffed, "It was great actually. Exactly what I needed, but I shouldn't have done it."
Bonnie touched her hand gently, right before Caroline took another shot, as the bartender kept refilling them.
"If our stupid girls' night didn't prove that she still had a thing for Stefan, tonight totally did. She has Damon already, regardless of how toxic that mess is, but now she wants Stefan back, and clearly he's not over her after all this time."
"Look, Stefan adores you, Caroline, and I know you both haven't taken that step to commitment because you're both afraid, but trust me when I say, he looks at you when you're not looking and I notice the way you look at him." Caroline provided her first smile of the night to Bonnie's words. "It's okay to take that leap. And if somehow it doesn't work out, then he doesn't deserve the awesomeness and beautiful person that you are."
Caroline pulled her into a hug. "Thank you for being my bestest friend ever. I don't know what I'd do without you."
They were both tittering on the edge of drunkenness with the way they were speaking, even though their tolerance was super high.
"I can't compete with the doppelbitch though."
They both erupted in a fit of laughter.
"Okay, but for real, if somehow I decide to let the kiss go and there's really nothing going on there from Stefan's part, will he still want me after I've slept with Enzo?
"Well, you two aren't together yet, and honestly that's your private business. Plus, Enzo was a one time thing right?"
"Right, and it'll never happen again. Ever."
"Okay then. So you'll talk to Stefan, clear this whole thing up, and maybe it's time to have a real talk with Elena."
Caroline gave her a look. "I'd rather chew glass. Anyways, enough about me, are you going to tell me how your auction date went with Damon. I would say I'm surprised he did what he did, but it's Damon. He'd go through crazy lengths in order to have his alone time with you."
Bonnie knew better to think that Damon's stunt at the auction wouldn't get brought up tonight.
"I have a feeling I interrupted something when I text you."
"He gave me a ring, Care." No need to sugarcoat anything.
Caroline's drink came flying out of her nose and mouth. "What! He proposed?"
"No! Definitely not. But, he said it was a friendship ring."
"A promise ring?"
"Feels like it. But, why would he do that? We're just friends. You don't give friends rings."
"I mean technically you can, but Damon is a different kind of friend for you. Are you going to admit you have feelings for him now?"
Bonnie sighed, "What would that solve? What would saying those words do for me?"
"It'll probably make you feel better to say it out loud and get it off your chest."
Bonnie then looked around the Grille. She hadn't even realized that it was just them in there now, with the bartender cleaning up. For some reason, a really weird feeling plagued her.
"Well, if I say it right now, I probably won't mean it because I think I'm a little more than tipsy."
"We stopped drinking a little while ago, so I know for a fact you're barely feeling the alcohol anymore."
Damnit. She was right.
Bonnie was grateful that her phone ringing interrupted them. However, it was Damon that called so she was pretty much stuck between a rock and a hard place.
"Wait, Bonnie Bennett, did you two kiss?"
Yeah, she'd take the hard place.
"I have to take this."
Bonnie walked to the back, even though if Caroline zeroed in, she'd be able to hear their conversation.
"You shouldn't be calling." Bonnie answered the phone. There was no response on the other end, but she knew he was still there. "I'm hanging up now."
"Wait…I… I wanted to apologize. I shouldn't have given you that ring…"
"No, you shouldn't have." Bonnie took a breath. "It's not fair to me, Damon. I don't know anything right now and this confuses the hell out of me. And I don't want to be confused… not with you."
There was silence on the other end.
"Damon?"
"Can you just tell me one thing? The kiss. Did you feel anything? I won't bring it up again, I just need to know that I'm not alone in what I felt from it."
It took a moment for Bonnie to answer that Damon thought she may have hung up. "I felt something." She admitted softly. "I felt something from that kiss and it feels like betrayal."
Because in all reality, Damon and Elena were together. Elena was still her friend even if things were strained between them, and she couldn't do that to her or to herself.
But before she could tell Damon that, she felt a tight pinch and her whole body stiffened, causing her to drop the phone.
"Bonnie?" She barely heard Damon say her name through the phone as it hit the ground.
She was able to turn around slowly to come face to face with Clarke from the auction. He had a smug smile on his face.
Bonnie was confused, and as she tried to bend down to grab her device, Clarke stepped on it.
"What…." she swayed, but he pulled her close to steady her.
"You know I'm surprised that didn't knock you out like your friend over there. I emptied the whole syringe in you."
When Bonnie saw Caroline unconscious and being dragged by some large guy, it was as if something snapped in her, fueling her rage. She moved so fast that Clarke didn't see her movement coming. She had him turned around with her fangs in his neck in no time. The blood flowed quickly, bringing life back into her veins from the effects of the vervain.
Bonnie was going to kill her first human and right now, she really did not care.
Right when she was about to finish him off and drain him dry, her head felt like it got slammed into a brick wall repeatedly, causing her to drop to her knees and cry out.
Her eyes connected with a woman she had never seen before in her life, right before her boot slammed into her face and it was lights out for Bonnie.
"She's a strong one isn't she." The female accented voice commented. "Especially for a newly turned vampire."
"Brock!" The lady yelled, and a bigger guy came running back in. "Heal Clarke will you. It's the least you could do for not being here when the little bitch almost drained him dry."
"I was putting the other one in the truck."
"Yeah, well when you're done, throw her in there too."
"You got it boss."
She looked down at Bonnie, ready to see what made her tick.
Bonnie's eyes opened abruptly to notice she was in her old home that she used to share with her dad. Even though her memory was a little groggy, she didn't remember coming here. The last thing she remembered was being at The Grille.
"It feels like a lifetime since we've been here."
Bonnie looked towards the door, as Caroline walked in and sat down in front of her.
"Why are we here? What happened?"
"I think we've been kidnapped. I remember us drinking and you stepping out for a minute to go take a call. Then some guy walked up to me and I could feel the burning sensation of vervain."
That's when it all came back to Bonnie. Clarke… his blood. The aneurysm.
"If we were kidnapped, why are we here?"
"I guess this is like a safe space for you. I barged into your mind so we could take this on together. I know this is a first for you and I didn't want you to be scared." She moved to sit beside her and laid her head on her shoulder.
To have someone care for her the way Caroline did made her heart swell.
Bonnie laid her head on Caroline's, as she held her hand. "I actually can't wait to learn this little trick."
Caroline chuckled. "It definitely has its perks."
"So, when we wake up, what happens then?"
"I honestly don't know."
When Bonnie's eyes shot open in real time, she felt completely disoriented. She could hear people talking, but it took her a minute to decipher what they were saying.
"You put a whole syringe full of vervain in her and it didn't knock her out. She has to be a hybrid." She recognized Clarke's voice.
"No, because my aneurysm wouldn't have worked on her if she were still a witch." The other voice said.
"Okay, but how do you explain her almost killing me even while on a high dose of vervain."
"Does it really matter? She was a witch who was directly sired by Klaus. And once we get her over to Lucien, he's going to use her to get rid of the Mikaelson's forever. Starting with Niklaus. Remember, the hybrid who killed your family right in front of you. And once that happens Brock over here will turn you. And then Lucien will make us all unstoppable."
Bonnie finally got the strength to move, only to realize she was in chains along with Caroline, who hadn't woken up yet.
"Oh look you're up." The witch noticed her movement and knelt down in front of her. "It sucks that you're no longer a witch, we could have done a lot of great things together. And even though I thought you'd be a hybrid, Lucien's ritual will no doubt still work." She then grabbed Bonnie by the throat. "Klaus and his family will never know what hit him."
Before she could get another word out, Brock and Luke's hearts were ripped out of their chest, showing that Damon and Stefan had arrived.
The witch turned around as menace filled her eyes.
"I really hate when people touch what's mine." Damon said.
He and Stefan were immediately hit with aneurysms that almost knocked them on their ass, but in the blink of an eye, Damon was in front of the witch punching a hole in her chest cavity and pulling out her heart.
He immediately began helping Bonnie out of the chains while Stefan helped Caroline.
"I can't leave you alone for a second."
Bonnie gave him an exhausted smile, as he helped her up. She looked over to Caroline who still hadn't woken up yet.
"Thank you both for coming. How did you find us?"
"Isn't that a crazy question. I followed your scent."
She leaned against him as Stefan held an unconscious Caroline in his arms, and they all began to walk out.
"You know I could give you the same treatment right now." Damon said to Bonnie, who could barely stand up.
"I think I can make it, I just need some blood." And then her legs were buckling from beneath her and Damon had her in his arms in no time.
"You're loving this aren't you."
"Can't say I'd ever complain. Any idea why this group of rejects wanted you and Blondie?"
"I have an idea, but first I need blood." Bonnie laid her head on him. "Just take me home please."
And as they all exited what appeared to be some basement cellar, no one noticed the candle in the corner ignite with a tiny flame.
A/N: Thanks for reading! Just a spoiler, next chapter you'll get more Klaus and Klonnie, plus the reason why Bonnie has been more consumed by blood lust. And of course more Bamon as they figure out this friendship that is clearly way more than a friendship. Hope you all enjoy and please review if you can.
