"Hair and eyes the color of blood," the bartender sneered at Gojyo. "Get out."
Sanzo snatched his gold card back, and as one, the four headed out, Goku talking loudly to Sanzo. But Hakkai barely noticed. Instead, he focused on Gojyo's hunched shoulders, bowed head, and the hair obscuring his face.
"I read an interesting hypothesis in a western medical text," Hakkai said. "Apparently, blood is blue, hence our blue veins. Blood only turns red when filled with life-giving oxygen."
Gojyo turned to look at Hakkai strangely, but he stood a bit straighter as they walked back to the inn.
