Chapter Two: And so the Story Begins

"What do you mean Dudley's a squib? In order to be a squib you have to have magical parents!" Harry said.

"Don't interrupt me! I am about to tell the story!" Aunt Petunia said harshly. "Now be quiet and don't fidget. Now, something that you didn't know is that I am adopted." Petunia took a deep breath. "My parents were purebloods and were devastated when they found out I was a squib. They put me up for adoption at once and went to live with the Evans Family. When Lily found out she was a witch, I was completely jealous that she could do magic and I couldn't do it as well as her. From then on, I gave up hope on doing magic at all. Instead, I forgot about it and her, until you came along." She glared at Harry. "When Dudley was three, I noticed he was able to do magical things, like lifting an apple in the air. We went to go see a wizard, but a the man just told us that Dudley was a squib, like me. Of course, when we found out you were a wizard and was accepted to Hogwarts, I was furious. We then signed up Dudley for Smelting's Squib School so that he too would be able to learn magic. That wooden staff is Dudley's wand, but has more power than your wand so he will be able to do magic properly. Are you satisfied now?"

"Yes…but I have one question."

"What is it now?" Vernon asked impatiently.

"How come you didn't tell me this a long time ago?"

"Well… I don't know. We thought you would pick on Dudley and hurt him. I mean look at the ickle Duddykinz!" Petunia cooed and Dudley, who looked like a perfect angel. Yeah, right! Thought Harry to himself. Still, something was wrong with the picture…something mysterious.
