Leena's POV
Brooks came over the commlink and told us her location. Garrus and I headed in her direction and eventually met back up with her and Shepard.
"Okay right just like we thought there's an alarm on the grate" Brooks explained nodding to the grate which led to the ventilation shaft behind her.
"We'll have to bypass it" Shepard stated.
Brooks nodded before giving the Commander a resonance emitter lens. With it, Shepard would be able to see security grids and wiring.
"Okay I'll follow the wiring to a junction box, splice it, and disable the alarm"
The Commander then notified Liara the lens was working and Cypher's mate instructed Shepard to follow the blue wiring. Garrus and I stayed behind Shepard as he followed blue wiring to the first junction box but there was a camera watching it. Liara' then sent a hack and Shepard went to work on the junction box.
He successfully spliced the junction box and Brooks said she got the grate open. Now it was back to the mingling and Garrus suggested dancing but I shot that down.
"Perhaps we should go somewhere more private to mingle" Garrus suggested seductively.
"As tempting as that sounds babe we can't"
My Archangel gave me the turian version of a pout. I chuckled before pressing my lips against his mouth plates.
"Later we can mingle to our heart's content that involves us without our clothes"
Garrus smirked at that before giving my rear a playful squeeze. Brooks whispered through the commlink that a guard was below her and he needed distracting. Since I was the closest to said guard I chose to do the distracting.
"Hi sorry to bother you but I spotted some shady behavior in the lady's room"
"No bother ma'am, what shady behavior did you see?"
"Drugs I think it looked like Red Sand"
When I washed my hands earlier I actually did see what looked like drug use. The guard thanked me before using his Omni-Tool to have someone bust the culprits. Brooks was in the clear once more and of course, it was back to shooting the shit.
I spotted a few games that interested me and soon I was betting along with Garrus. I lost some creds before scoring. I collected my winnings and Garrus muttered he needed to work on his betting skills. Brooks had a situation involving a pressure pad and an obstruction detector and she couldn't disable them.
Garrus and I regrouped with Shepard in case he needed some help. We found a junction box by the roulette wheels but two guards were close by.
"We'll distract them," Garrus said.
I smirked because distracting the guards was entertaining. Garrus then went to the first guard while I went to speak with the second.
"Hey, quick question are you familiar with the Science Fiction Tomb Raider?"
"I'll be damned I almost didn't recognize you, Mrs. Leena, my daughter is actually a fan mind if I get an autograph for her?"
I hadn't expected the guard to say that but I happily gave the autograph. Brooks came through the link again after dealing with the junction box. She seemed to successfully get past the obstruction detector and the next task was to disable the pressure pad.
We found the next junction box and like before there was a guard and a camera near it. Garrus took off to distract said guard while I pretended to mingle. But Shepard managed to splice it successfully and Brooks came over the link.
"I'm at the storage room grate, time to hit the lock"
Through the link Brooks could be heard moving around and then she suddenly swore. The Analyst managed to become the target of an infrared laser hooked to a silent alarm. Now one of the guards was bound to go investigate.
I gestured for my husband to follow and we trailed behind the Commander. EDI explained she would call the responding guard to say it was a false alarm. Shepard then suddenly yelled.
"Hey!"
The guard was irritated since he was stopped suddenly and multitasking. He then activated his Omni-Tool and EDI managed to convince the guard everything was fine in storage. Hell her voice turned into a guy's when making the call.
"Sorry, you looked like someone I might know" Shepard apologized to the guard.
"I don't get paid enough for this" I heard the guard mumble under his breath.
Shepard told Brooks she was in the clear and all we had to do now was wait. We didn't have to wait long and Brooks said we should head to the security gate. A short walk later we arrived at the gate in question but as expected there were some obstacles.
While Shepard sneakily worked I decided to chat with one of the guards.
"This place looks perfect for a date night, would you recommend it?"
"Oh absolutely Miss, I come here with my wife once a month whenever we're not busy, you have a good night now"
I then saw the gate was open and after the guard looked away I hauled ass through the gate and so did Garrus. Behind a desk was no doubt Khan.
"Khan I'm not here to threaten you" Shepard addressed. "We need to talk"
Within my mind, my inner panther swished her tail in annoyance.
"Something isn't right" I notified Brooks and Shepard. Garrus went to Khan's chair and turned it around.
"What the hell?" Brooks swore as we realized Khan was dead.
"And here I had this bad cop routine all planned" my husband added folding his arms across his chest. Brooks and Shepard went to Khan's console in hopes to find more information.
"Hmmm, you would make a bad cop indeed" I teased my spouse.
The terminal had a deletion order and Shepard growled.
"Damn it"
"See if there is anything worth finding before giving up Shepard" I suggested.
Shepard agreed with me and browsed through the terminal. He found the terminal indeed had been wiped but not the comm.
"Elijah come crawling back?"
We all whirled around to see a figure on the screen above us. Due to the inference of technology, we couldn't see who was speaking to us.
"Guess again" Shepard responded to the mysterious person on the screen.
"You, I see you and the Science Fiction Tomb Raider recovered from flopping on the floor like fish"
"Oh, f**k you buddy" I spat before giving the person on the screen double the bird.
The mysterious figure mumbled more bullshit before ending the call and Brooks wasn't able to trace it. Before leaving the data drives were pulled out along with the comm. A short sky car ride later we returned to Shepard's apartment.
"Hell of a party well unless you were the host and it didn't end well for him"
I smacked Garrus on the arm for that.
"Damn it every time we have a chance to relax someone pulls some kind of bullshit" I hissed.
Garrus chuckled before drawing me into him. At his touch, I relaxed and blushed.
"Our night wasn't a total loss we found a good place for a date night"
"True but I suck at gambling babe"
"Me too my Nightshade but hitting the casinos every once in a while won't do any harm"
The doors to the apartment opened and in came Saren and Rue.
"What in the spirits is going on? I heard Shepard and you two were at the Silver Coast Casino"
"We're still figuring out what's going on" I explained to the Spectre. I then told the married pair about what was going on.
"Oh hell, you and Shepard fell through a fish tank?" Rue inquired in shock.
"Unfortunately yes"
"That explains why the sushi place is temporarily shut down" Saren added. The older turian then saw the glare I was giving him and he held his hands up. "Relax Leena I'm not blaming you for the restaurant shutting down"
"So does this mean you're joining the party now?" Garrus asked.
The silver-colored turian proceeded to smirk.
"Oh absolutely"
