Ray tossed and turned on the carpeted floor on the air bed he was supposed to be sleeping on. The airbed he was sleeping on wasn't all that comfortable as the damn thing somehow deflated in the middle of the night and had to inflate it again. Allie was in her bed. Snuggled up to her creature, Squeaky, a Scaradorable of Gloom Hollow. The cuddly thing was curled around Allie. Almost acting like a warm, fluffy pillow. He can hear Squeaky make these snoring sounds along with a prolonged mewl. Sometimes Squeaky would twitch her nose and kick her feet. Ray wondered if she was dreaming. What would Scareadorables dream about? He shifted onto his back to stare up at the ceiling. Maybe even watch the ceiling fan to lull him to sleep. "NO! Get away!" The scream echoed in the large house. Ray shot up as well as Squeaky who was now alert to the sudden disturbance. Allie woke up as well. She looked over to Ray, who had the same expression as her. They didn't move as they heard crashing from outside the door. "What's going on?" Allie jumped from her bed and followed after Ray as he pressed his ear against the door and tried to listen as more screaming and crashing commenced. "Stay back! Don't touch her!" Ray was now freaked out and ran out the bedroom door. "Ray, hold up!" Allie yelled out to him as Squeaky followed in suit. They ran down to the staircase, but they hid at the top as he could see Ken, Ray's father, struggling out of the grip of his mother and Allie's father. Screaming and hollering at whatever decided to plague him as he slept. "Ken, listen to me! It's a dream! Just a bad dream!" The trio heard a rush of footsteps come into the living room as his uncle Isao and his grandfather came to see what was wrong. "Get the hell away!"

He swung out his left arm to smack away his imaginary demons. In reality he ended up hitting Allie's dad in the face. Ray's grandfather ushered him away and tried to tend to him as his nose was bleeding. "What's happening to him?" He asked as he was given a towel to cover up the bleeding. "Ken, wake up!" Uncle Isao tried to hold one of his arms to prevent him from swinging again. "Damn you! Damn you all! LEAVE US ALONE!" "Ken!" His mother shouted, tearing strolled down her face as she held the man's face pleading for him to come back to her. "Janet, don't get too close! He'd probably smack you." His mother didn't listen and kept trying to console her husband. "Ken, we are ok. We are safe. No one is going to hurt us. Not anymore. They are gone. They are all gone. You defended us." She stroked her husband's face and kept up her consoling words and had some effect, but it did fairly little. "Should we call an ambulance or something? This isn't doing so well." Allie's dad has his head tilted back to ease his bleeding nose. "Is he ok?" Ray whispers. "I don't know." Allie whispers back. She was too stunned as to what occurred. Squeaky hugged the duo from behind. Maybe as a way to comfort them, or they too were scared of what was occurring. The struggle continued with the adults. "Do you think they'll be ok?" Allie asked him. Ray just shrugged his shoulders. He couldn't believe what had happened before them. Ray knew that his father, previously known as Suguru, had a lot of experience in self-defense against creatures much larger than himself. And knew the man was capable of a lot. Just seeing him nearly smack Allie's father away like that scared him.

He knew his father was dealing with nightmares for the last few weeks to a month. Yet he never knew this was going on. His father practically screaming and hollering like a devil was trying to steal his life. Whilst swinging his fists to fight off these nightmares and his hellish demons. "And that's it." Ray's voice was practically shaking. Tears sprung in his eyes. Threatening to fall down. "Your father is suffering from night terrors." Tatsurion said. In all honesty, he didn't even know what to say. He just pointed out an opinion he conjured up from the story the boy told. Raising a claw to his face to rub the base of his muzzle. He's heard stories of soldiers screaming and would attack at seemingly nothing. Using any kind of defense, they had to defend themselves. Sometimes they would even attack the attendants that came to investigate the sudden disturbances. Understandably, they were not pleasant sights. "What else happened?" "Dad managed to wake up. He was shocked as to why everyone was staring at him until mom told him what happened. Uncle Isao saw us and told us to go back to the room. After a little bit, mom came in to comfort us. Allie's dad still has a bloody nose. He went to the hospital that morning to fix it as it turned out it was broken." Tatsurion ruffed in acknowledgement. "Nobody else got hurt?" Ray nodded. "Other than some broken vases and a broken nose, everybody was alright. I guess. Dad felt guilty and opted to make up for it. But her dad said not to worry too much about it. It wasn't his fault." Still holding the boy's chin, he can feel the tear droplets fall onto his claw. "I've never seen dad like that. I don't think I ever saw someone act like that. I was scared that he might actually hit mom when that was going down. I knew dad had nightmares as I can hear him talking in his sleep, but I didn't think this was going on. I-I I don't..." He teared up even more. Tatsurion knew the experience scared him. Even if he wasn't a part of it, he was still a witness. Even if his father was no longer a mutation of man and mechanical spider, the aftereffects were still in his father was still alive, taken advantage of by the Choten, and was forced to lose him before he even knew who the damn flesh bag of a one-eyed human was. Or before he became Suguru.

Now he was getting to see him, but not in the way his family ever intended it. A man being driven by nightmares and unrequited fears. He hoped he didn't have to go through the hell he went through with his own father. Even if he wasn't present. Using his other claw, he wiped the child's tears. Being mindful of how much force to use. Not once has he seen this kid cry, even if he was faced with death, he never saw him cry. "Ray, you'll... you will be alright." Tatsurion mentally cursed himself. How is that helpful? Somehow it worked. Ray gave off a little chuckle. "Thanks Bob," Tatsurion let out a sigh. "You're alright too." He said even giving him a smile. Yet he knew the kid was still sad. He thought back to that dreaded bath Ray made him take. How he got his payback for both the bath and the petting by nuzzling his stomach. Maybe that can work again.

Janet sat on the couch reading a book as he heard her husband pace back and forth. He didn't have to say it, she knew what he was worrying about. "I'm sure he's fine. Probably with Tatsurion scouting again." Ken gave her a glance as he continued his pace. "I know Janet. But he shouldn't be out this late. He should've been home by now. Or at least back at the temple." "Now, now. He will be fine. If he needs any assistance, he'll just call us." She placed the bookmark to hold her place and went over to her husband and began to rub his tense shoulders. "You need to relax. She traced her fingers across his back. "Why don't we go change your bandages." Ken nodded as she led him to the bathroom and took off his shirt to take a look at the bandages. She grabbed the peroxide and bandages from below the sink. Dripping some of the peroxide onto a towel she placed it gently onto his back. He winced as he felt the tingling sting. He tried to ignore it as best as he could under his breath. His knuckles turned white as he gripped the countertop. "Sorry," She laments. Trying to be more mindful of his pain. "I-It's alright. The pain is tolerable. I can handle it." "You know you don't have to handle it on your own. You have us now. We may not be able to make it go away entirely but we can help manage it. Starting off with-" Ken cut her off with the raise of his left hand. "Janet, it's not possible. We already discussed it before. We can't afford it. And what can I even tell the psychiatrist without coming off as delusional or schizophrenic. What I encountered, what I have experienced in the last 15 years cannot be brushed away with the simple scribbling of a pen." He argued as he once again winced from the soreness of his lower back. Janet knew that he was right. Doctors were expensive, and even if they had the money, what can they really say without coming off crazy as creatures from a parallel world, was very unlikely and a trope for a Syfy movie.

"I know we had discussed it before. I know it's expensive but Ken," She reached around to grab his chin and turn his head towards her. "These nightmares and night terrors are not helping you. You can't sleep. You won't even sleep most nights to avoid them entirely. It's not healthy. It's not helping you, Ken. We need to find a solution. Find a way to heal you of all the pain that fucking bastard did to you. I want to help you, Ken. We all do, no matter what it takes." He was shocked as he never heard her cuss once. Not even during the time they spent together. Janet's green eyes looked into his deep brown ones. He can practically see the flaming power in them. Determination. He thought. She was determined to help her husband. "Let me, let us help you." From the years he knew Janet, she was a calm, caring woman. What drove him to her was how strong she was. She wasn't one to give up and had determination that would put one's own pride to shame. If she was set on it, she would do it. Being alone with a child for about 14 years after a harrowing experience in the nature realm proved that. Not once did that fire in her dissipate or blow out. It was burning strong. Still is. He couldn't help but be hypnotized by them. His expression softened and took a deep breath. "I want to. Believe me, I do. I just...I don't want it to repeat itself." Janet leaned in closer and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. Being mindful of his back and holding him close. He leaned his head down and laid it on her shoulder. Hiding his face in her neck and blouse. Not a word spoken between them. They both held each other tightly. Ken's breathing was hitched as he was suffering from minor aches and pains. Yet he did not move as he wished to hang on a little longer and stay close to Janet as possible. He can smell a faint perfume on her clothes. Coconut and vanilla. Her favorite flavor. He felt like he was about to break down and cry. He hasn't smelled that perfume in so long. The last time he did was on their first date he even remembered how she wore a simple red dress with black lace and a black waistline belt. Her hair done up into curls. Her green eyes glancing up at him with excitement but also nervousness.

Now she was here. She wore a dark hot pink blouse with a waistline belt and a pair of long jeans. Her hair was up to her shoulders and bobbed. She was there. She was standing in front of him. Holding him and lightly traced his back to help soothe his fears and pain. It almost seemed like an eternity when they stood in silence in the bathroom. Not moving. Not a word spoken. "Uh, Janet? Have you seen the kids? They seem to be gone for a whi-oh! Sorry!" The moment was broken was they turned to see Allie's father standing outside the bathroom with his hands awkwardly in front of him. The adults stared at each other with an awkward silence. Ken was the first to pull away and clear his throat. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt your um...moment." Ken raised his hand. "No, no its nothing." Janet cut in with, "We were talking and figured to cool things down." Allie's father merely nodded and was asked about what he needed. "Oh, I was just asking about the kids. Do you know where they are? Well, I know where Allie is, as she called me. But haven't heard a word from Ray." The parents looked at each other. Pondering the question to where their son was. What can they say? They haven't heard from him for a while now. They definitely needed to call him. "I'll call him and see what's up." Janet said as she walked out of the bathroom as Ken followed suit with some assistance. She picked up her phone and saw there was a message from her son.

Ray: Sorry mom, I am with Bob. Might come late for dinner. Don't wait up.

Janet sighed and relayed the message to her husband. He had an uneasy look on his face and nodded.
