Emma was barely awake when she felt the pull of their sheets against her abdomen, followed by the sounds of a hushed giggle. It was shortly after midnight, and Emma had fallen into a half-sleep state while she waited on Regina to wrap up the work she had brought home. Emma always tried her best to wait up, unwilling to fall asleep alone, but she always seemed to doze off just after ten. Regina was a night-owl, who poured her passion into working to improve her company and her job as Mayor. She was a visionary, who wanted to see so much change in the world that it was nothing short of respectable. Emma admired that intricate piece of Regina. Her dedication, ambition, and will to succeed were some of her most attractive attributes. They made Regina who she was, and Emma never wanted to change that. She'd wait up for the rest of her life if she had to, because that was Regina's passion and she'd always help her embrace that. Anything that Regina was, she'd truthfully embrace. Emma knew, however, that there would never be a side of Regina that she wouldn't love.

Emma shivered at the loss of warmth from the now gone sheets, but before her body could react further to the coldness that surrounded her, the softness of her beautiful love laid against her, warming her. Feeling Regina's body blanketing her own brought back the familiarity of what it was like to make love, something they had long abstained from doing. No matter how strong the magnetic pull was between them, they pulled themselves away with promises that they'd wait until Emma had fully healed.

In that time, their love never wavered, not even once. Instead, the bond between them grew stronger with each and every day. Every morning and every night, they whispered their I love yous, which never became empty or meaningless, but instead grew heavier with meaning. They didn't even feel like words anymore; they were much more than something as simple as that.

Hazily, Emma blinked a few times before her eyes focused on the woman inches above her. Being woken like this never grew old. She loved this side of her gorgeous Regina, who was teasingly naked before her. Emma pulled her groggy mind awake to fully absorb what was happening.

All those months of waiting had surpassed them and finally, they could indulge in their cravings for one another again. Gently Emma cupped Regina's cheek, and stared into eyes that harbored so much compassion and adoration. The sensitivity alone was nearly painful.

The beauty of it all just made every space in Emma's heart clench with a love so deep that it ran lower than the canyons of the earth, and deeper than any ocean. She was unable to tear her eyes away from those deep pools of love that spoke volumes louder than even the Big Bang itself.

Silently they sat, studying one another, and soaking in the gravity of the moment. With each passing second, the air grew thicker around them, and Emma could swear it was harder to breathe. Every breath she took became quicker in succession and the beat of her heart was stronger than the one before pounding forcefully in her chest. There was so much love in the air that it forced Emma's body to quiver with anticipation for what came next. She knew, deep down, that what was about to happen between them was more powerful than anything she had ever known. Bigger than when Hydrogen met Helium. They were more powerful than even the elements themselves as they collided together, spiraling into an infinity known as time and space. And when Emma and Regina first made love all those months ago, Emma was sure they were comparable. But now, she knew she had it all wrong.

The truth was, their love knew no time because it was timeless. Their love was more like the tension before Hydrogen and Helium met, and what many scientists would spend lifetimes trying to coin. Emma knew it as, 'forever.' Because that's what Regina was: forever, in life and in death. When they turned to dust someday, Emma knew, with every particle of her existence, that she'd always be connected to Regina. Even when their bodies were no longer in physical form, their particles would coexist alongside each other. And maybe that's how everything started? It was a love so strong that it existed solely because their particles fused together intimately to create something bigger, just as Hydrogen and Helium did. So yeah, Emma was pretty damn sure she had it wrong all those months ago. They were more powerful than elements because they were what created the elements to exist in the first place.

Feeling the depth of the moment, Emma brought her wandering hand down and ran a solitary finger along the valley of Regina's bare chest. Emma watched as her eyes closed shut in response to her exploratory touch.

Regina's head tilted to the side as a soft hum escaped from between lips Emma swore she would kiss until her dying day. The passion was tangible between them. Heat radiated from their bodies as waves of desire swelled larger than the sea at high tide. And God, Regina's body was the most extraordinary thing Emma ever laid her eyes on.

The first time Emma ever had the pleasure of setting her sights on Regina's naked form, she could have sworn the woman was a gift from Venus, Goddess of Beauty, with how radiant she was. But now, Emma knew she had it all wrong again. Not even Venus was this breathtaking, so how could Regina be as simple as a gift? The fact was, she was greater than that.

A knee dropped between Emma's now parted legs and gently Regina pressed against Emma's center. The newly felt pressure shot tingles of desire through every vein of Emma's body. It wasn't anything Emma ever knew before and it made every hair on her body stand erect with ease. Trying to ground herself as she relaxed, she fixated her eyes on Regina's, locked with her own, as they tenderly started to rock together to create a new kind of friction. And all Emma could do was submit herself to the new feeling. Regina's hands dove into a mess of tangles and threads of Emma's hair to bring their mouths heatedly together into a searing kiss that could solve the world's most crippling issues; end world hunger, wars, and even bring prosperity to nations whose futures were bleaker than the dark side of the Moon. The passion exchanged between them flowed freely like a waterfall. Emotions Emma had never even felt yet, erupted from her in the form of a trembled cry, "Re..egina?"

Her lover's body continued to move against her own, lips teasing at Emma's skin below her jaw causing her back to arch from the bed that she had just before been sunken deep into, dreaming of wondrous unknown worlds. She always thought it was romantic being woken in the early morning by Regina, but just after dawn… well, that was better.

Emma felt tantalizing hands reach beneath her shirt and slip it up and over hear head. Her body throbbed and pulsed with a curiosity about how it was going to feel, to let herself be loved again. Months of healing led up to this moment, and all Emma could do was let go and allow Regina to make her feel sensations, new and old.

"Let me see you, beautiful," Regina whispered, into Emma's ear as she gently eased her back to the bed, nuzzling her nose against the softness of Emma's blushing cheek. Their lips met in a kiss that grew deeper with sloppy kisses, their tongues tasting and loving. Regina's nimble fingers caressed the skin that was just centimeters above the edges of Emma's shorts. Regina's fingers felt like fire igniting Emma's soul, warming the blood that flowed through her veins, giving her life.

While Emma knew Regina would always love her, no matter what form she was in, she never allowed her eyes to see her progress through her healing process. Emma didn't want her to see that side of herself. She wanted Regina to only remember how she is now, the woman that she is, and has always been, but fully healed. Even if she was born into this world differently, Emma was finally who she was destined to be. And she wanted nothing more than to share this new physical side of herself with her person, her forever.

Confidently, Emma nodded her head yes. Regina smiled lovingly down to her for a few passing moments. That look alone reassured every worry Emma possessed. Regina loved her. She would always love her and not just that, there was a trust between them. And goddamn, did Emma trust her with every fiber of her being, because Regina had never steered her wrong. Had Regina ever possessed a shadow of doubt over this entire process, she would have been long gone. Instead, she made sure it happened and she stood by her side through a process that Emma had been sure no one would ever stand by her side for. She figured that the process would have to be endured all alone, and that afterwards someone might love her. She was wrong. By god, was she wrong.

Regina was quite literally in the palm of her hand, and proving to Emma that she was worthy of love. She was there by her side for every doctor's appointment, every ache in the middle of the night, and every good day in a series of bad days. She was her constant when nothing in her world could stay still, or calm.

The time that lapsed between her nod and when Regina's fingers finally slid the fabric down her legs felt like lifetimes upon lifetimes. In fact, Emma could have sworn she had died and gone to heaven several times in that time frame. The coldness of the air, yet again, threatened to send chills across the expanse of her now naked body. Though, there her love was, laying on top of her again, warming her and holding her close connecting their lips together. Heated, damp breaths slipped from their lips, in their between kisses. She felt intoxicated with their love, and goddamn was she ready for this moment with Regina, who felt so close.

But that closeness wasn't enough. Emma desired to feel more. To feel more intimate places she never could. Her heart beat grew faster, pounding in her ears like a drum, as Emma reached to pull Regina into another lust-filled kiss. Their tongues danced a familiar dance that only lovers knew, forcing her body to throb in a way that was foreign to Emma, but felt so similar to the feelings of her heart.

Breaking their heated kiss, Emma pulled Regina's face away from her lips and into the palms of her hands. She looked into those eyes, god those eyes.

Lovingly, Regina brought her left hand up to cover Emma's. She held it there, rubbing her thumb in circles over the back of Emma's hand. To some, that simple action could be meaningless, but to Emma it meant everything.

"I love you," Regina told Emma an affirmation of her love as she slowly pulled back one of Emma's hands, kissing it before leaning forward to kiss Emma's lips. And then she moved from her lips to her jaw, down her neck sucking in sensitive places along the way. Each nip of her teeth caused Emma's hips to lift into her own, crashing their bare center's together, as more waves of pleasure they had both held at bay for too long coursed through them.

Emma wasn't nervous or afraid of Regina seeing her for who she was now, scars and all. She felt beautiful, and she was sure Regina would see her just as she saw herself. They had gone through so much together in their still very young relationship, and that only confirmed how deeply they felt for one another. They could withstand anything, even when time and human life ceased to exist. Their love would still always be there because they were, by definition, eternal.

"I love you, and I will always love you." Regina continued to whisper those words, that were too simple now to convey how they really felt. They were just words and sometimes words weren't enough to express the depth of how they felt. And maybe it wasn't words they needed to share, but rather, to allow their bodies to speak a different language that only they knew.

Together, they were moving at a pace that was slow, because it was like their first time again, but with a new meaning. Plump lips trailed down to the mounds of Emma's chest. Regina's kisses caused every pore of Emma's body to tickle in the seconds leading up to a hardened nipple being captured. A soft moan reverberated through the thick, passionate air of their room.

Emma's hands latched onto Regina's back, clenching tight to ground herself. The way Regina's mouth wrapped around her caused her toes to curl. And God, Regina's teeth gently teasing her only made Emma whimper for more. Regina used not only her mouth but also her fingers to tease her other breast, and it was building Emma up higher than Mount Everest.

Unlike their first time, when Emma's senses felt heightened she didn't taste the same metallic taste. This time, she tasted only Regina on her lips. And when her ears used to burn to hear something even if it were her damned leaky faucet from her bathroom, she latched on to the steady rhythm of Regina's breathing. Regina was everything and all that Emma ever wanted to taste, hear, and feel.

Emma wrapped one of her legs over Regina's back. The motion alone caused Regina to fall deeper between Emma's open legs, granting her more access. A wandering hand slowly started to meander down Emma's body like a river, teasing her contours along the way. Her body was on edge with a need to feel more. When Regina's fingers grew increasingly closer to where Emma desperately wanted her, she could feel her skin ripple with a heat that only they caused.

Beads of sweat glistened on Emma's body as she leaned her body deeper into their bed anticipating what was next. What she expected, paled in comparison to her wildest dreams. Regina's fingers caused her to quiver from the sensitive sensations that shook her body and forced a moan to escape her desert, dry lips.

Her head dipped back deeper into the pillows, and she gasped her air as Regina turned circles over her bundle of nerves with the pads of her fingers. Having Regina finally feel her like this was what made this moment monumental for Emma. This was the side of herself that she wanted Regina to know and love. It felt good, emotionally and physically, to share this newness of herself. Emma clutched Regina closer, digging her nails into her back, because she tingled from tickling sensations that caused her skin to prickle.

Like that Thanksgiving day a year ago, Regina asked, "Open your eyes, Emma."

Marbled green eyes opened and sought out for the familiar brown eyes she loved. Together they looked into each other's eyes as Regina's fingers explored lower through new folds.

"You feel beautiful," Regina told Emma, whose heart pumped faster than any moment before in her life. It seemed impossible, but it was certainly breathtaking. And when Regina started to slide down her body, kissing every intimate place, Emma moaned. If only she could be woken like this every night for the rest of her life.

When Regina's lips kissed down below her navel, she slowed, her heated breaths forming moisture against Emma's skin. Curious brown eyes locked with Emma's one last time, and what they found was readiness. Emma may not have wanted Regina to see her before, but now she was healed. There was no longer pain, the swelling had gone down immensely, and she looked natural in every regard. This is how she had always wanted Regina to see her and now she could.

Emma watched as Regina moved lower between her legs. Finally, Emma's body, in it's new form was revealed to Regina. Emma could feel her lover's eyes soak in every crevice and fold of what was between her legs. The long pause gave rise to some nerves, but when Emma looked down, she was greeted with tear-filled eyes, full of emotion. Not knowing what to say, Emma waited for Regina to collect her words. There was so much love in Regina's words when she said, "I'm so happy for you, my gorgeous girl."

Her entire life, Emma wanted to have this body, to feel a wholeness. The surgery provided that for her and each and every day she felt happier in her skin. But seeing Regina's unadulterated happiness for her made her smile because this was what it was like to live and to be loved, wholeheartedly, by another person.

Kisses sucked up her inner thighs and teeth nipped at that sensitive flesh. Emma's body anticipated so much, but when Regina's tongue ran up her center, she whimpered from a feeling she knew she'd quickly become addicted to. She always thought Regina's mouth was that of an artist's, with the way her tongue painted strokes in places that caused Emma's mind to soar higher than clouds. It was unreal, and while it felt new, the same thrill of ecstasy made Emma ache with a need to experience more.

As if Regina was telepathic, her tongue explored deeper into her new folds, into her tight center. The pleasure was all Emma felt as her head rolled back. Her fingers latched onto the strands of Regina's hair, feeling her love. God, did she feel good. Passion was flowing through her and when that tongue was replaced with a well lubed finger, Emma could have sworn she was among the stars. Her body felt higher than anything known to man on earth and slowly the friction Regina created as she moved in and out of her was the warmest feeling.

Months of waiting, months of preparing, and here Emma was feeling Regina inside her. Her mind couldn't believe her body was even capable of feeling or doing this, but it truly was one of the most magical sensations. She always wondered what it would feel like, even long before she met Regina, but now here she was, in the now, floating in a cloud of ecstasy.

"Is this okay?" Regina asked as she moved slowly, tentative of causing any pain. Emma loved that about her. Regina was patient, mindful, and conscientious of how this was affecting Emma. These were things about a person she never even knew she desired. Lucky didn't even begin to cover how Emma felt. In reality, it was kind of indescribable. Maybe if you can combine every good adjective together, then maybe that's what she'd be.

Emma's tightly shut eyes shot open and found solace in her lovers. Breathlessly Emma promised her, "It's more than okay, it's perfect."

Gulping back the thickness in her mouth, Emma continued to feel the orgasmic pleasure that was threatening to break like a dam. Slowly, Regina's mouth moved again against her sensitive bundle of nerves and she pushed her finger in deeper. Emma's body trembled and she felt everything more powerfully than she thought possible.

The intimacies of how Regina felt inside her differed significantly from how they made love before. It was a sensation unknown to her. All her life she knew something different, but this was better. Feeling her love inside herself like this, well it was worth every damn painful day and every curse she swore. Making love like this, well, there was no other soul-baring moment better.

And to think, the first time she ever made love with Regina, Emma was damn sure nothing could ever top that moment. She was wrong, so wrong. The way her body ached from the touches and sensations erupting from her caused sparks in the air. Love surrounded them, and Emma finally let herself give in to the orgasm of a lifetime.

Long moans and soft whimpers filled the space of their bedroom, and all Emma could do was hold on to Regina, the one constant in her life she could always count on. It was the best goddamn sexual experience she ever had. And coming down from that high with Regina, holding her tight saying how much she loved her was priceless. It was breathtaking and when Regina's body slid up her own, crashing sensitive centers together, Emma couldn't think of any better time.

She brushed the sweat soaked hair that was tangled away from Regina's face and smiled. Emma could nearly cry as she stared back into those eyes that were the window into Regina's soul.

Emma's voice nearly cracked when she confessed, "My only regret in life is that I didn't find you sooner," her chest heaving as she gasped for air in her post-orgasmic state. "I regret that because I wish I can say that I loved you longer."

It was true. She wished with all her soul that she could have found Regina sooner in life. It was selfish really, sometimes great loves don't find each other until later in life. Some only loving each other for brief periods of time. But here Emma was, wishing for more, wishing for longer because forever wasn't enough from this point forward.

Regina, her love, her life, her forever smiled down at Emma as if it were their last seconds on Earth. Emma couldn't go a day or second even without making sure Regina knew how deeply she loved her. Her chest was still heaving as she tried to come down from her high.

She licked her dry lips, "You've always seen me for who I am. No matter what form, you have loved me endlessly. You're the most extraordinary person I have ever known, and I love you. I will love you forever, Regina." Emma said with shaky, erratic breaths.

What came next, well that was the most important question she could ask in her entire life, "Regina, will you please be my wife? Be with me forever, and let me love you always. I promise you, I will love you each and every day until our last," Emma vowed, her eyes never wavered as she asked the words that meant more to her than anything.

And Emma assumed it was somewhere between the tears of joy and nod of Regina's head that the answer was yes. Their lips crashed into another searing kiss, so passionate, so full love. Just like that, that was the first time Emma kissed her fiance. It would go down in the books as one of the most spectacular private moments of her entire existence.

They broke away from the kiss, laughing and smiling at one another. The tears of joy that stained Regina's face shined under the dim lights of the room.

"Would you like to see your ring?" Emma asked, finally beaming with the excitement over a ring she purchased many months ago.

"You have a ring?" Regina asked, her eyes melting again with tears of happiness. It was a sight that Emma would never forget. It was one of their most beautiful moments together, as a couple.

"Of course, I was just waiting for the right time to ask," Emma said, sheepishly. She leaned over and pulled open her side table drawer where she recently moved the ring box.

She popped it open and tossed the box off to the side and looked at the twinkling teardrop stone. All those months ago, she never knew it'd be as fitting as it is now with all the tears being exchanged. Grinning like a love-drunk fool, Emma took Regina's shaking left hand into her own and slid the engagement ring in place. She knew it'd stay there forever because that's where it had always belonged. And when Emma thought Regina's eyes shined before, now with the twinkling ring on her finger, her eyes sparkled far greater. It was impossible to stop the fresh tears that stream down her love's face. She was beyond moved by the moment and all of its beauty.

Emma pulled her fiance into her arms and cupped her soft, wet cheeks. "I love you and I can't wait to call you my wife, Regina."

When Regina's left hand cupped Emma's own, she could see the engagement ring. She knew this was the best goddamn day of her life. The best part was that she knew there would be so many better days now that she had Regina in her life.

"We're getting married!" Regina said with a smile more radiant than the sun. She laughed, and god that laugh could cure cancer it was so magical.

When Emma shut her eyes for the briefest of seconds, a kaleidoscope of dreams passed before her eyes as she felt happiness permeate the air. She saw so much love in their future that it was awe inspiring, and knew they were now a family - one that would grow indefinitely.

That feeling caused Emma's body to become electric with an energy she didn't know she had, lifting Regina up and positioning the woman onto her back. Emma smiled down into her fiance's eyes, and her heart swelled with an excitement she felt deep in her bones. There would come a day when she'd say her wedding vows and it couldn't come fast enough.

She leaned forward and nipped at Regina's earlobe, whispering sweet nothings in her ear. And while wedding vows were in their near future, there would also come a day when they'd become mothers together. Then, maybe, they'd live long enough to be grandmothers, too.

And Emma laughed just at the thought that a year ago, her best friend had to shove her into her in-home office desk chair to force her to look at some lousy dating website. Never in a million years did she think she could find the woman of her dreams, but here she was kissing down her neck and across to her collarbone, sucking at her skin. Emma knew she was the luckiest woman alive and she owed so much of what she was afforded to her friend August.

He loved her, and wanted her to have the life she always wanted. All those dreams she had were finally coming true and she couldn't wait to wear a big, stupid, white wedding dress and, in front of their loved ones, to make the most important promise, one that was in sickness and in health. She'd always be there for Regina, no matter what. Hell, they had already been through so much and survived it.

Emma gently kissed down the swell of Regina's breast and allowed her tongue to tease at expecting flesh. She blew out a heated breath and watched as Regina's sensitive bud grew harder. Greedily, her eyes soaked in the perfection before her eyes. Because Regina was that, perfection.

Her tongue circled around and she sucked before pulling away and kissing horizontally across Regina's chest, to her neglected other side. Emma loved this, she loved making love to Regina. She'd never grow tired, not even when she was old and feeble. She would promise to make her better-half feel as glorious as she has made her feel in just the short amount of time they've been together.

Emma smiled as the faintest of moans escaped from her soon-to-be wife's parted lips. Regina's hand was buried in her mess of tangled hair and Emma took that as a sign to move lower and when she did she could smell Regina's scent.

She already knew that Regina was dripping wet with desire, that's what a long six months does to someone. It was worth it though, because this was epic beyond proportions.

Emma moved lower, leaving kisses here and there, but just as she approached her destination she told Regina, "I love you." If only there was a phrase that meaned more than that, because 'I love you' felt as insignificant as human life is in comparison to the universe.

Two legs parted and Emma slid easily between them. When they made a pact to wait together for when Emma was healed, Emma had no idea she'd choose this day to propose. They both agreed and knew that waiting would make the moment more intimate. And it was, with all the emotions floating in the air from their proposal and Emma being healed. It was magical.

Emma smiled as her tongue darted out from between her lips and teasingly rolled against Regina's bundle of nerves. Her clit tasted so sweet against her tongue and Emma couldn't help but start to pulsate with need all over again. It was well after one in the morning now and she didn't care. She could go all night long until the sun rose and peeked through their curtains highlighting the dust that floated in the air. They'd waited so long for this moment that Emma wanted to bask in it for as long as possible.

"Emma." Regina's voice echoed in her ears and that was her verbal confirmation to slip her fingers deep inside her love. She loved feeling Regina coat her fingers as she pushed deeply into her. And, madly, her body shook as Emma passionately made love to her in the best way possible. Feeling Regina's center clench to her fingers was enough of an indication that she would be unraveling around her shortly. Emma pushed harder, deeper, and forcefully her tongue worked in sweet rhythms around Regina's bundle of nerves.

Seconds later, Emma could feel Regina's tight center loosen from around her finger and a breathless whisper beg for her to come closer. When Emma's body topped Regina's their centers collided and both of them moaned from the sensations, neither could deny they both felt, and were, ready to share together again.

"Was it worth the wait?" Emma asked as she laid a few inches away from Regina's face. She knew it was hard on Regina. There were quite a few times they nearly went too far as she tried to work off some built up tension from work, but holding off, while it felt like torture, had made this experience better.

Regina tilted her head back a little and regarded Emma very seriously, "I would have waited forever if I had to."

Emma couldn't help but smile and she captured Regina's lips into a kiss she would never forget, because this mid-night, making love session was unforgettable.

Regina pulled back a little and hastily whispered, "I love you with everything that I am. I never want anyone to touch me like the way you do." She crashed their lips together again, rolling their tongues against one another.

When they separated again, Emma blurted back her response just as hastily, but no less full of love. "I'm crazy about you." She brought up a finger and traced the curve of Regina's jaw. "I don't know if I can wait too long to marry you."

If she were honest with herself, she'd marry Regina the very next day in front of a judge. Screw wedding dresses and how upset her mother would be. All that mattered was Regina and her.

"Let's get married on New Year's!" Regina said, happily. "We could go back to Ski Esta and have the ceremony there." And that was the best idea yet.

Emma always felt a happiness deep in her chest from last Christmas. Ski Esta was symbolic of their love, in a way. Emma could barely believe it was nearly a year ago that she flew up to spend her first holiday with Regina. So much had changed since then. They lost Henry shortly after the turn of the year and, well, now Emma had had her surgery and lived in Maine. Going back together to say their first I love yous as a married couple, where they first said them, well, that was synchronicity.

"That sounds perfect. Gives us just enough time to go crazy with wedding planning." Emma smiled. One month of that madness was really all she could stand.

"I'm so happy I'm going to marry you." Regina told Emma. "You mean everything to me, Emma." Regina said closing the distance between them. Their lips moved in a tentative kiss that was slow and full of meaning. Their bodies started to move again, to only a language they knew, causing their centers to slick past one another building a fiction that felt orgasmic.

They spent the remainder of their early morning exploring and learning new things as they made love. To think this was just the start, made Emma moan out into euphoria and caused her toes to curl. Loving Regina and having her forever, well that was it for Emma. This is why people lived… so they could find forever.
