I've been trying to get my brain to work on this chapter for a while so we will see how this goes. If you have any requests or ideas please let me know.

James Howlett (Logan) part 2

——

He was leading her up the stairs to his, their, room the first time they got stopped. Rogue and Bobby had been coming down the stairs and met them on the landing.

"I knew we should have taken the elevator." Logan growled to himself as they took the last step up, Kagome just looks at him with a smile.

"Hey Logan, is this the new professor that everyone's taking about?", she reaches her gloved hand forward, "I'm Rogue and this is my boyfriend."

Bobby also extends his hand after she shakes Rogue's, "I'm Bobby, it's nice to meet you."

Kagome smiles at both, "My names Kagome, Kagome Howlett. You can call me Kagome or Professor K, whichever works best for you."

"So who all is everyone that's talking about the new professor? We weren't letting students know till dinner."

Rogue and Bobby share a look. "Okay, so Kitty saw Professor Jean and Professor Scott talking outside your door so she may have phased through to see what they were talking about. Then she and Kurt came and found us and told us that we were getting a new professor."

He crosses his arms while still holding her bag, "Then what did she say?"

"That they said that you knew the new professor, but didn't actually know the new professor so they were trying to figure out how to talk to you about her without her knowing because they felt like you may need some help around her because you apparently already hurt her feelings and they wanted everything to be able to start over before she's introduced to everyone else."

"And."

Rogue looks down at her hands and Bobby takes over, "And that she was apparently your wife but you didn't know and she didn't know that you were here and they didn't know if they should help you or not."

"We all know how they both are with you so apparently they were arguing about weather to help y'all or let you fail."

Logan scoffs, "So Scott wants to "help" us."

Nodding Rogue continues, "And Professor Jean wants you to fail but without actually saying that she wants you to fail."

"Okay, so I understand that I'm new so I don't really know the dynamics of everything but I don't understand why they care so much." She looks between the teens and Logan, "What am I missing here? It's not like they didn't introduce themselves to me as a couple. Why would they care so much about you unless you were a third party in the relationship," she gets a look of understanding, "And she still wants you around but he wants her all to himself." She looks at the teens, both look down confirming her theory, before looking back at Logan. "They may be in for a shock because I honestly meant when I told you that I wasn't expecting us to pick up where we left off. I have no say in your new life, I understand that."

All three look at her and blink as they process what she just said before Rogue and Bobby politely excuse themselves to leave the adults by themselves. They both look at each other before Kagome continues up the stairs. She got two stairs up before he grabbed her hand to stop her, turning around she lets him lead her back down to the landing where he pulls her closer to the window and away from anyone that could be walking by.

He looks down at their hands before looking back up at her, "I was planning on waiting until we were in the room to talk about this but now we know we're going into an ambush so here we are. I don't know what you've been through and you don't have any idea of what I've done for these last few decades but I can't deny that my instincts tell me that this is what I need." He looks out the window, "I can't remember a time where I haven't been on edge and ready to run. But I don't feel that now. Everything I have ever listened to is telling me that I'm home now." He turns to face her again bringing one hand up to cup her face, "You are my home."

She covers his hand with her own as her eyes begin to water, "I've missed you for so long but I don't want you to feel trapped. I understand the feeling between captivity and freedom and I don't ever want you to have to go through that again."

"I've been on the run and fighting for as long as I can remember, this is the first time that I feel truly free and at peace. I never actually understood what wheels was talking about any time he's brought it up. I've fought on his side for years because that's all I've know, I couldn't even fathom this feeling. To be honest now that I know about you you'll never be able to get away from me again; I will track you down forever . I may not be the man you knew but I would love to be the man you know now."

Tears start rolling down her cheeks as she wraps her arms around his waist. Logan's eyes go wide for a second before he wraps his arms around her and makes a soft rumbling noise to calm her down. After a few minutes she leans back to wipe her eyes and look into his.

"I'm sorry, I didn't expect this all to hit me like this after so long but then you threaten to be with me forever the same way that you did in the beginning and I know that you mean it now just as much as you did then. I know that so much has changed but my heart says that we haven't changed.

He smirks and wipes her eyes, "Wheels is gonna regret inviting you to come here. I don't care what happens from now on as long as I have you and that is going to ruffle some feathers." grabbing her forgotten bag he takes her hand again and begins leading her up the stairs. "Speaking of feathers let's go ruffle a few."

"James. Logan, I honestly don't want to ruffle any feathers, I just want things to be peaceful and to get to know you again."

Walking down the hallway they both see two clearly agitated people waiting for them at a door.

"I've learned that calm only really settles after the bombs go off." They step up to the door in front of the other couple. "I don't care why you're here you're in our way."

Without missing a beat Kagome pipes up from beside him, "What he means to say is excuse us."

Logan just growls, "No, what I mean to say is move."

Neither move but both open their mouths at the same time.

"Why would she need to go into your room?"

"Have you been crying?"

Logan growls again, "She is going into my room because it is now her room too and yes she has been crying but that's not for you to worry about."

Scott puts his hand up on the door frame and looks at Kagome, "Are you sure that you're okay? We all know that Logan can be a lot but he can't force you to do anything that you don't want to do. If you're ever not comfortable just say the word."

Before Logan can say anything Kagome puts her hand not holding his on his arm to stop him. "Thank you for checking up on me and your concern but I know full well that I can handle anything that he can throw at me. While also knowing that he has very few ways of forcing me to do anything and of those ways none are your concern. I was crying but I was crying out of happiness for the fact that I have an opportunity to reget to know my husband and with all honesty I would much rather be doing that right now instead of this. Now if you would please excuse us, you and your wife can go relax somewhere while I take my husband into our room and continue to get reacquainted with him."

Smirking Logan opens the door and lets Kagome go through while he looks back at the other two, "Or you can stay outside the door and listen to me get to know my wife again but just know that that may get awkward for you."

With that he walks into the room and shuts the door on both of the figures now standing speechless in the hall.

Not super long but not too short either. I hope you all enjoyed and don't forget to review and request what or who you would like to see next.

I decided that I'm fighting my depression with creativity weather y'all like it or not. Either way you feel, you're welcome.
