"Take cover!" Aragorn yelled, pulling out his sword while Gimli grabbed his ax and held it with both hands. Legolas had an arrow pointed at one of the riders and the Sunnydale group stood there, too surprised to move.

"Move!" Aragorn yelled again, and the group quickly dived out the way of an oncoming warg. Legolas shot an arrow straight at one of the warg, the creature gave out a loud scream and dashed away.

"Oh God, what was that?" Anya asked, gripping Xander so hard that he yelled out in pain. "Take it easy with the merchandise, An."

More wargs came swiftly, and Willow threw a fireball at one of them, hitting the rider as well as the warg. Both creatures hollered in pain. Another one was circling the group, and Legolas fired off three arrows in close succession. Gimli hit one square in its middle and Aragorn stabbed his sword at another. More screams were heard before the hill was finally cleared of all wargs.

Buffy pushed her hair back, wishing that she had put it up in a ponytail or something. "What were those things?"

"Those were the black riders," Aragon answered. "They were once men, kings even. Now they work for Sauron."

"They were men?" Willow questioned, "and who is Sauron?"

"Sauron is the dark lord of Mordor, the evil that is threatening Middle Earth, my lady." Gimli smiled, "Forgive us for our lack of manners, let me introduce you. I am Gimli, son of Gloin. This is Aragorn, son of Arathon, the heir of Gondor. The Elf is Legolas, son of Thranduil of Mirkwood."

Willow looked at her friends and cleared her throat, "Eh, I'm Willow, daughter of Ira and Sheila Rosenberg of Sunnydale."

Buffy followed her lead, "I'm Buffy, daughter of Hank and Joyce Summers of...oh forgodsake, I'm Buffy, that's Anya, Xander and Spike, we are all from Sunnydale."

Aragorn frowned, "May I inquire what brought the five of you to Rohan?"

"The witch screwed up. Again." Anya said, pointing to Willow.

"Witch?" Gimli frowned.

Willow shrugged, "Eh...a spell-caster?"

Legolas nodded, "A wizard, just like Gandalf. That's why you were able to create fireballs."

"Gandalf?" Buffy asked, perked up quickly. If there were as wizard, maybe he can help fix the spell and get them home.

"Yes, Gandalf the Grey was our companion, part of our fellowship. Unfortunately he fell into the mines of Moria and is no more." Legolas said sadly.

The five from Sunnydale looked at each other before Spike said, "So the only guy, a real wizard who might have been able to help us, kicked the bucket. Is there another wanker who can wave a wand and chant at the same time?" The three from Middle Earth frowned at him, not able to understand such strange language. Spike sighed loudly, "Listen here, mate, obviously we traveled to another time and perhaps even another dimension. Fact is, I don't bloody well care, I just want to find the bloke who can get us back home."

Willow elucidated, "What he is trying to say is that we are not from around here, and by your weapons and clothes, I think we are from the future. Way, way, way into the future."

"I'm sorry, Lady Willow, but we do not have the time to assist you. Two of our companions had been taken by the Orcs, we were tracking them when our paths crossed." Aragorn said.

"And I'm sure these Orcs are not the good guys?" Xander asked.

"No, the Orcs were sent by the white wizard, Saruman. They killed one of our companions and kidnapped the two hobbits." Aragon clarified.

"Okay, I know we are like so different, but what are hobbits and why would this Sardine guy want to kidnap them?" Buffy asked.

"Hobbits are halflings, Lady Buffy. There were four of them, set out from the Shire," Aragorn explained. "Frodo Baggins, Sam Gamgee, Pippin Took and Merry Brandybuck. Frodo is the ring bearer, the one chosen to take the ring to Mount Doom, the only place where it can be destroyed. Although we had all sworn to protect him, the ring is evil and all those who come within close proximity of the ring is affected by its evilness. There were nine of us when we set out from Rivendell; we already lost two along the way. Frodo had decided to go alone to save us from temptation. Sam had gone with his master. Pippin and Merry were taken by the Orcs, on their way to Isengard. That is where we were heading."

"Hey, Frodo is a chosen, just like Buffy." Xander said excitingly.

Buffy glared at Xander before explaining, "In every generation, some lucky girl gets to be the chosen. We fight evil. We kill demons. We are gifted with super powers. I'm this generation's lucky winner, the Slayer."

"So, that is why you were able to fight so well, and I thought you must have been a descendant of dwarves," Gimli said.

Buffy rolled her eyes, "I don't think so. Listen, since we are here and well, can't go anywhere, let's go find your friends, I'll slay these Orcs for you, and you help us get home."

Legolas turned to Aragorn and said something to him in Elvish. The two conversed briefly before the Elf turned around to address the slayer, "Although I do not believe your assistance is necessary for us to locate the hobbits, it is not safe for you and your companions to wander on your own. Our journey is perilous and we cannot guarantee your safe arrival, but you are welcome to travel with us."

"What if...what if I didn't mess up and...we were meant to be here?" Willow asked suddenly.

Spike snickered and Willow glared at him, "Listen, we are also trying to vanquish a very powerful and very evil demon, The First." Willow stammered, "Supposing...just suppose the first is somehow connected to this Sauron. I mean...he's evil, right? And we know The First is just plain evil. Maybe, I mean what if we were send here to help get rid of him before he ever reaches Sunnydale... in the future."
