Meanwhile, in Northuldra:

It had been six years since Elsa left Northuldra for more than just a visit to Arendalle's castle.

Originally, she had been on King Adam's council, but the Beast now only wanted the leaders and a select few on it. Anna and Kristoff had tried to fight, as had Rapunzel and Aurora, but Beast wouldn't listen.

After he made her send Erica to live with her sister, Elsa retreated to the forest, afraid of what she would do if pushed anymore. It took time for her to be able to really interact with the royals from other kingdoms, and for a while everything was okay, until those with magic began to be treated like they were less.

Auradon didn't technically "arrest" people. You either got a slap on a wrist, were let go, or were sent to the island. The last one could cause a scandal if people weren't careful.

As it was, more of those who had magic had been sent for simple things. Things that the Beast insisted were evil. Down to just regular health spells if it was seen as too "dark" or if the fairy or witch wasn't seen in the best light.

Fairy's had it better off than witch's, of course.

This meant that more and more magical beings were fleeing to the safe spots. The Moors, Neverland, and now Northuldra. Elsa had just gotten her first visitor, seeking help.

Surprisingly, it was Genie. He had fled Agrabah as more rules came to be, while sending his wife and children out on their boat. As far as Aladdin and Beast were aware, Genie was with his family and they were catching fish to sell at the markets. While the catching fish part was true, the rest wasn't. Instead, Genie broke laws by bringing himself here using magic. He was risking everything, and Elsa was determined to help him.

Elsa shifted her sling, moving the fabric a little so she could check on Eira, before walking over to the man. He was standing at the cliffs, watching the ocean.

"Genie?" She said softly, "I'm not sure if you can feel the cold or not..."

"It's okay, Snowflake." Genie chuckled, "I'm not cold. I just," He sighed, running a hand through his hair as he stared out at the sea. "I miss my family."

Elsa was quiet, walking to stand beside him. If she stayed still for long enough, she could almost feel Ahtohallan calling her, the magic running through her veins.

Magic.

"Genie, how do your powers work?"

"Huh?" He looked down at her in confusion. "I'm not sure what you mean. I'm a genie."

"I know, I mean... is it just illusions now? Since you're a free genie? Or does everything you make stay?"

Genie still looked confused, but answered. "It stays. I don't do it often, of course. Now that I'm free it can be draining. And I can't defy laws or anything, do anything really big, or make people princes or grant riches like I used to. But it still stays until I make it go away. Why?"

Elsa looked away, focusing on her daughter instead. She had worked hard to make sure that no one outside of her family knew of her existence, to make sure that what had happened to Erica wouldn't happen to her. But now she had a chance to help someone else from going through something even worse than what she had experienced. "Your family. You can make them a house here, right on the edge of the forest."

"What? Elsa," Genie reached out and lightly touched her shoulder, making her look at him. She had been a queen, in a way she was still one, she shouldn't be nervous. But somehow, taking care of those who had no magic was different than offering sanctuary to those who did. This was different, because Genie was like her, and she could have been the one in his position. "Are you sure? You guys, you don't build permanent things here. And, this is your home."

He looked apprehensive, but she could see the hope in his eyes. But she had planned for this, this wasn't a spur of the moment thing. She had been to Ahtohallan the day before, she had talked to the other spirits, to the tribe. "I'm sure," she said. "The other spirits agree. As long as it isn't big, isn't destructive, and is on the outskirts of the forest. There, you'll still be safe if we ever need to bring the mist back."

"And, you're sure?" Genie asked again, causing her to laugh.

"Yes Genie, I'm positive. What Beast is doing is wrong. We can't hide our magic. It's a part of us. No one should be punished for that. No one should be kept from their family for that."

Her eyes were teary, and so were his, but neither acknowledge it. Instead, he smiled and bowed some. "Thank you, Elsa."

"Go find your family, Genie, and bring them home."
