Frodo awoke and found himself back in Imladris. The sound of the birds singing merrily through the wood caught his ears when the door opened. Turning to see who was entering the room, he saw his two kinsmen enter. Merry and Pippin both alight with smiles raced to him and they laughed joyfully after having not seen each other since the Falls of Rauros. Another figure entered and Frodo looked in astonishment to see Gandalf enter with a wide grin set upon his face.

"Gandalf!" the hobbit exclaimed, relief settling in his heart that the wizard had not died after the encounter in Moria.

Behind the wizard came Gimli, Legolas dressed in a pale blue robe and Aragorn with raiment of burgundy. Last but by no means least came Sam, who wore a white gown identical to his. Eight members out of the nine in the Fellowship had survived the battle for Middle-Earth. As happy as the moment was with the Fellowship now united once more save for Boromir of course, Aragorn's thoughts were elsewhere. As happy as he was to see the two hobbits ok, his thoughts were of Linwelos. The face of happiness he wore was nothing more than a mask covering his true feelings. After leaving the room where the four hobbits were reunited he dropped the façade and headed to where she lay not to far away.

Legolas watched him leave and followed, knowing where he was going. Slowly opening the door as the sunlight reflected on her pale face. She lay unmoving, her golden hair fanned out about her head as he neared her side. He hadn't had a chance to speak with Elrond about her condition but just from her appearance he knew that she wasn't in good shape. As he approached her bedside it was obvious that from her wounds she'd lost a lot of blood. The usual color in her cheeks was gone, replaced by an ashen color. He'd never seen the wound inflicted to her side and carefully moved the bandage out of the way as his eyes got their first view of the damage the sword had done. Starting at about the level of the bottom of her ribcage and extending downward in a diagonal slash ending abruptly above the external oblique muscle in her abdomen. Leaving in its wake a gaping wound with jagged edges like a hideous smile gone awry. The edges of the deep gash were starting to heal, but so much of the toxins the orcs use was in her bloodstream, the question was could she overcome it to survive, but her outlook looked bleak.

Sitting upon the side of her bed he said softly, "I owe you my life, Linwelos. I could have never asked this of you. In some ways I believe Éomer was right, that you shouldn't have even been there. But if you hadn't been there then chances are I wouldn't be here as a result. " After a brief pause, he continued on as he spike the feeling he felt within his heart. "Even after our paths separated so long ago, I never forgot the time we shared together. Those moments have been in my memory as we rode and even more so when our paths crossed once more in Drudan forest. To see you leave, to fade away would not only hurt me deeply, but also to the others who care about you. I can't see what the future would hold for the others if you were to leave now…"

As the door to the room opened slowly he said softly, gently resting his hand upon her face "Ta ú-boe na si wande." It shouldn't be this way.

After several minutes, Galuwen appeared and prepared to enter her friends room when Legolas grasped her arm gently and said, "Anta hon luuame er o lîn." Give him some time alone with her.

Nodding her head, Galuwen stood alongside Legolas as a soft breeze blew through the valley and the birds continued to sing happily.

"Linwelos was always brave during these trying times. I always looked to her for advice, and now…" Galuwen said, finally letting her emotions come to light as a tear fell from her eyes.

"If she dies this day, she will die a warrior's death with honor," Legolas replied as he brushed the tear from her face with the back of his hand.

Silence filled the air as the two stood without another word until he broke the silence once more.

"Im haran o i Mirkwood sii. 'Erin an heru mi i lumbe o nîn adar huru. Lumna im erir anta er." I am king of Mirkwood now. I have to rule in the shadow of my father's death. A task I can not face alone.

Galuwen looked up at him just as he continued and said, "Tulya na nîn turinqui. Tulu nîn kanuva lye nosse minna si sanga ari o seere." Come be my queen. Help me lead our people into this new day of peace.

"Im aniron na late." I would be honored. Galuwen replied.

His fingers brushed across the mark on her neck as he said softly, "Ve anda ve im haran, lau numa cron oio tulya an lle au'." As long as I am King, no harm shall ever come to you again.

Legolas lifted his hand to hold one of her braids as the couple looked deep into each other's blue eyes. Moving closer, he kissed her gently upon her lips. A kiss that seemed to last forever. When the two finally pulled apart, Galuwen said "I still scored more than you at Pelennor Fields."

"Only in your mind," Legolas replied as the two began to laugh. It was the first time they both had laughed in a very long time.
