Lady Nagant 1

Lady Nagant slammed the thief's head against the alley wall, waiting for the cops to arrive. It had been three days since her talk with Izuku's quir~Oscar. She felt ashamed that someone could read her emotions so easily, despite the training she was put through to mask them. Then again, she got a good laugh a day later, when she saw that even Oscar could lose his cool. Oscar and Izuku's mother Inko were arguing over something. It was likely food related, as they quickly went to the kitchen, and prepared the same dish for Izuku and his friends. Based on Oscar's slumped shoulders, it was clear that Inko won the debate. It's frightening to think that, despite evidence to the contrary, Izuku's summons are truly their own individuals.

The sudden siren alerted her to the cops' presence.

"Alright," Nagant grunted, yanking the thief with her, "Time to go."

The thief mumbled obscenities as the officers took him.

"Thanks, Lady Nagant."

"Just doing my job."

"Yeah, well, it's a bit away from your stomping grounds. Any reason why you're all the way here?"

Nagant kept her composure. "Personal business."

The officer shrugged his shoulders. "Well, I can hazard a guess. It's that Midoriya boy, isn't it?"

"Ho~" Nagant shut her mouth, but it was too late.

"I was the one who filed the report on him. Then we have an agent of the Commission here in Musutafu. Not hard to put the pieces together if you can see them. Frankly, I'm surprised that U.A. High hasn't approached him yet."

Despite her concern with the Commission, Nagant was stumped.

'U.A. hasn't done anything, despite how powerful his quirk is? Why?'

"Well, anyway, thanks for the help, Lady Nagant."

With that, the cop cruiser drove off, leaving Nagant alone. She saw the quad towers of U.A. High in the distance. Looking at her watch, she saw she still had three hours before Izuku's school day would end, and she'd have to continue surveying him.

'I might not get a better chance.'

Walking down the streets, she gave slight nods to any passersby that praised her. Reaching the main gate, she pressed the intercom at the front gate.

"Who am I speaking to?" A gruff voice answered.

"Tsutsumi Kaina, Hero Name Lady Nagant. I wish to speak to the principal."

"Hmmmm, do you have an appointment?"

"No. This is an impromptu."

"Visiting hourrrs arrre currrrrently~"

"Look, I know what U.A.s school schedule is. However, by the time I could visit, my job would take priority. I have less than three hours, so I would appreciate it if I could speak to him."

'What am I doing?' Kaina thought solemnly, 'Of course they aren't going to~'

"The prrrincipal is willing to see you."

Kaina jolted her head. 'What?!'

"Go thrrrough the frrront gate, and he'll meet you at the entrrrance. Don't take too long."

"Thank you."

Kaina walked through the gate. She could see several students in the distance, milling about or heading to other classes. As she neared the entrance, she saw…a mouse? It was barely three feet tall, with white fur and black eyes.

The mouse waved a hand. "Now, this is a surprise. Is it a mouse, a bear, or could it be a dog? What's more important than that is that I'm the principal of U.A., Nezu!"

Kaina blinked her eyes, stupefied. She heard the rumors that U.A.s principal was eccentric, but this was still out of left field. Nezu's mouth was curled upward, but there was something…unnerving about it.

"I must say, Lady Nagant, I'm surprised the Commission would send one of their people unannounced."

Kaina shook her head. "They didn't send me. This is more personal business."

The smile dipped a little, and the unnerving feeling seemed to match it as well.

"Oh? Interesting. You didn't attend our school, so this isn't a case of, what is it you humans say, 'catching up'?"

"Let's just say it concerns a boy."

Nezu's ears twitched. "I see. In that case, please follow me to my office."

The two walked through the hallways, going up several floors. Several students would give a shocked look to Nagant, and even some of the girls seem to be in awe of her looks. It nearly brought a smile to her face.

"Lady Nagant!" A young boy called out. Turning, Nagant saw three students approach her, one of them having a stylized notebook.

"It's soo cool to meet you! I know this is sudden, but could you sign my notebook."

"Uruska," one of the boy's friends jokingly complained, slapping the back of his head, "You're embarrassing yourself."

"Hey," the third boy retorted, "He's a fan of guns. Can't blame him for wanting her quirk."

The two boys continued teasing their friend, unaware of Nagant's quickly panicking eyes.

'Not again!' she mentally screamed, 'Please, stop praising me, children!'

"Students." Nezu calmly stated, which snapped Nagant out of her stupor. All four turned, and there was a gleam in his eyes that made the boys nervous. "Miss Tsutsumi is here on business. I would appreciate it if we don't take away any more time than needed. Besides, don't you have classes to attend, specifically in thirty seconds?"

"Yikes. He's right. Come on, guys!"

"But~"

"Trust me, we don't want to get on teacher's bad side again."

The three boys ran off, allowing Nagant to take a breath of relief. She honestly didn't know if they were talking about Nezu, or their homeroom teacher.

"Now, my office is right over here." Nezu continued without missing a beat. Nagant quickly followed.

Completely unaware of Nezu softly putting a small device in under his suit.

The two entered Nezu's office, with the principal bidding Nagant to sit down. However, she simply stood there. She tilted her head in dejection.

"This was a mistake. I'm~I'm sorry for taking your time~"

"Come now, Miss Tsutsumi. Don't tell me that Mr. Midoriya has you that nervous."

Nagant flinched. "How did you…?"

"Despite now public observations, I'm not completely unaware of the boy's quirk. After all, when the Hero Public Safety Commission sends one of their best to town, I tend to want to know why. I quickly discovered the young boy. Such an interesting quirk. Summoning a knight in shining armor." Nezu gave a giggle. Nagant couldn't decide if she found it cute or, again, unnerving. She took a seat, while Nezu got into his, then raised it to the desk height.

"It's not just a knight, now."

"OH? The boy can summon more than one knight?"

"No. His second summon is a butler, who Midoriya uses to help his mother work the apartment room."

"Fascinating."

"Yes. And the butler is very observant. Despite only being summoned for a day, he was able to find out that I saw…observing the Midoriyas, and confronted me."

"I take it he wasn't very pleased with your espionage. I know I wouldn't."

"He…wasn't. But, that wasn't what bothered me. It was the fact that, not only did the fight last only a second, but he beat me."

"Ah, I see. You feel embarrassed that, technically, a child was able to defeat you, a veteran Hero."

'You're only half right.'

Before she could reply, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" Nezu exclaimed. The door opened, and Nagant turned. The person she saw resembled more of a blond hair werewolf, wearing a muzzle over his mouth.

"You called me, principal?" He questioned with the same rough voice as the one who spoke to Nagant on the intercom.

"Yes, Mr. Inui, I did. Miss Tsutsumi, this is Inui Ryo, also known as Hound Dog. He's our school's guidance counselor. He also manages the front desk from time to time."

Nagant turned back to Nezu, asking, "Is something wrong?"

Nezu leaned forward, "That's what I should be asking you."

Nagant stiffened, and Nezu continued. Pressing a button on his desk, a metal shutter pulled over the door and window, trapping the three in. Nagant got up, prepared for a fight, when Ryo held a hand up.

"Don't worrry. He does this when he wants complete silence. No one can hearrr us."

Nezu brought up his computer, and turned the screen around. It revealed the encounter that she had with the three boys from an upper camera, though there was no audio.

"Miss Tsutsumi," he said, "When those boys approached you, asking for an autograph, you completely froze up. I feared that, had I not stepped in, you might've had a panic attack. I've brought our guidance counselor here because, despite my less than human nature, I care for good people, even if they never came to my school."

"It's trrrrue. Nezu has sometimes gone outside school, perrrsonally inviting someone to seek help. If therre's something wrrong, Lady Nagant, then," Ryo pulled up a chair, sitting down, "We'rrre the best people to hearrr."

Nagant sat down, and looked at her hands. For a brief second, she saw them covered in blood, and she scrunched her face in pain.

'I shouldn't tell them. They can't do anything to help me.'

"I…can't."

"Hmm, interesting word choice."

"Why?" Ryo questioned him.

"Because it implies that someone has something over Miss Tsutsumi."

Nagant whipped her head up, fear on her face. Ryo's face turned much more soft.

"Is it a villain?" Ryo questioned, "Do they have someone close to you?"

Nagant shook her head. These were questions she didn't want to answer. "No. I haven't seen my parents in years." 'Honestly, I don't even know where they are. It's been so long that…'

Nezu hummed as Ryo continued, "It's also unlikely that they have a friend of yours. You're a solitary hero. Do they have blackmail on you?"

'In a way, yes. If I try to defy them, they'll expose the heroes I've killed. I can't do anything.'

"Has your HPSC's file been compromised?" Ryo questioned. Nagant, on reflex, shook her head.

Nezu's eyes took a glint. "So…It's not a villain, but the HPSC itself."

Both Nagant and Ryo turned to him in shock, though Nagant's was borderlining on horror.

"What could possibly make you come to that conclusion?!" Ryo exclaimed.

"Simple process and elimination. Since Miss Tsutsumi hasn't had contact with her parents in years, and that her family records are being held by the HPSC, this means that it's unlikely a villain has any knowledge of them. Combined with her solitary lifestyle, and that their records haven't been compromised, it would seem only logical that her employer is the one that's holding her hostage, is it not?"

Nagant was both concerned and impressed by how much she was getting perplexed these past couple of months. She knew that the principal was smart, the amount of wealth under him was evidence enough, but this was something else. Worse, as principal of U.A., Nezu was involved with the Commission. And, well, when you're hired by the Commission, you don't quit…not alive, that is.

"Lady Naga~No," Ryo began, but stopped, "Miss Tsutsumi Kaina. Nothing spoken here will leave this room. Is everything alright?"

Nagant's eyes shifted between the two, almost looking for a way to escape.

'No. I can't tell them. The Commission WILL find out, somehow. Then they'll 'move' me, and have someone else watch Midoriya. And if I can't falsify reports, they'll know his true power. And then…'

Nezu climbed onto his desk, and walked to Nagant. "Miss Kaina. We can't help you if you don't want help."

Nagant's spiral was briefly stopped as she listened to Nezu.

"I've seen it time and time again. Particularly with people who've either committed suicide, or attempted it. They think that nothing can help them, that they're alone in their struggles. However, almost every time, if they had just asked anyone for help, they could've been saved. If you don't ask for help, then we won't know if you need it. So, Tsutsumi Kaina…do you need help?"

Nagant turned to the two, unsure of her options. She had no idea if they'd actually keep it quiet. Worse, the paranoid part of her mind is telling her this is some kind of test from the Commission. If Kaina was clenching her fists any tighter, they'd be bleeding. Ryo seemed to notice this.

"Prrrincipal, can you head out forr a second? Kaina might need some waterrr."

"Of course. Just let me~"

"That…" Nagant interrupted.

Nagant thought of Midoriya, 'That boy. I can't keep the Commission off him forever. If I don't take the chance that they're genuine, then I'm only delaying the inevitable.' Nagant's hands folded open.

"That won't be needed. I'll tell you everything."

By the end of her explanation, Ryo was growling in unrestrained fury, while Nezu had a very dark look on his face.

"Of all the fucking…" Ryo growled.

"I suspected as much." Nezu added.

"WHAT?!" Ryo nearly howled.

"I long concluded that the Commission likely had a special team of 'heroes', trained to eliminate villains too dangerous for the courts. This only makes sense. I even suspected that they might be tasked to kill other heroes. Society does have some terrible examples. However, to think that they'd recruit children into this program."

Despite no tears flowing, Nagant's eyes were red, almost like she wanted to cry.

"And you don't want the same to happen to Midoriya Izuku." It wasn't a question, but a statement. Nezu could easily see the signs.

"With how powerful his quirk is, the Commission would be idiots not to get him. I've done my best to hold them back, but…" She was surprised when Nezu dropped on Nagant's lap, stood up, and placed a paw on her shoulder.

"Don't worry. The Commission won't be getting him."

"What do you~"

"Please take this serrriously." Ryo deadpanned.

"Hahaha, me, a simple school principal, going up against the hero commission of a country? How could I not take this challenge?!"

Nezu pressed the button on his desk, lifting the door shutter.

"Now, if you don't mind, I have things to do!"

Nezu quickly left the room, giving Ryo a soft nod. When Nezu left, Ryo reached over the desk, and closed the door shutter again. Nagant, meanwhile, was COMPLETELY floored. She fully expected to plead with the two of them to help Izuku, only for them to reject them. They were part of the system, one that trained her to kill other heroes. Why would~

Nagant was interrupted when she felt something furry wrap around her. She saw that Ryo was hugging her.

"What…what are you doing?"

"As much as I need to vent my own angerrr, you arrrre more important rright now. So…let it out."

"What?"

"Let. It. Out."

Nagant was confused, but then her eyes widened in realization. She was a child, with hopes of becoming a hero. Then she was taken, and turned into a killer. She had her dreams twisted beyond recognition. And Ryo was telling her to let that sorrow out.

As if a dam broke open after decades, Kaina cried into Ryo's arms. She finally found someone who could help Izuku. She was able to truly save someone.

And possibly herself in the process.

Author's Notes: Welcome to the first BONUS CHAPTER. Unlike normal chapters, their titles don't have a statement said in the chapter. Rather, these ones don't focus on the main story itself, which will mainly circle around Izuku, but focus on other characters. They aren't necessary to read, but they do provide additional context for future stuff.

Frankly, I feel like if Kaina had ONE person she could talk to that could actually do something, she wouldn't have snapped. And this obviously will have a ripple effect, trust me. The next official chapter will already have some effects from it.

As always, leave a review, fav/follow, and I'll see you all next time.
