Hello all Storm here with a new story! And here we'll be trying something new as Naruto will be involved in the world of Digimon, specifically Digimon Tamers. Though Naruto won't be a Tamer himself, but he's also not going to be a Digimon, at least not a regular one, for what he is you'll need to read to find out. So, without further ado.

"Ugh…wh-what…what happened?" Muttered Naruto Uzumaki, groaning as he rubbed his head to try and get rid of the pounding he felt in it, along with feeling how sore his entire body felt.
"Feels like I just had Chief Toad land on top of me." Naruto said as he tried sitting up, wincing at a sudden jolt of pain through his chest.
Only for the whiskered blonde to forget the pain and soreness when he opened his eyes, only to look around in shock at his surroundings.
"Wh-what?! Where am I?!" Said Naruto, finding himself in what looked like an endless black void with nothing in sight or anything he could see.
Naruto looked around rapidly to try and find something, but couldn't see anything at all, much to his growing concern and panic.
"Hello?! Is anyone here?! Can anyone help me?!" Naruto called out, hoping that maybe there's someone else here that could help him.
Though after a few moments of nothing happening, Naruto started walking forward, not wanting to just stand in the same spot, expecting something to happen or for someone to appear. But as Naruto continued walking, he couldn't help but feel like he wasn't going anywhere. Leading him to start running, only to still feel like he wasn't moving.
It only made Naruto's worry and panic grow, wondering if he's caught in some kind of Genjutsu before he soon stopped running.
"O-okay…j-ju-just…I should just try and think this over. I…I'm in some creepy…empty place, but where was I before?" Said Naruto, trying to remember what happened before he ended up in this place.
'I was…on a mission, a mission to…find someone. Yeah! I went on a mission with Pervy-Sage, to find someone to become the new Hokage! Granny Tsunade, that's who we were looking for! And…and we found her, we made I bet that I could master the Rasengan in a week and she'd become Hokage. But then…something happened, someone attacked us…Orochimaru! And Kabuto was there too!' Thought Naruto as he began remembering what happened.
How he, Jiraiya and Shizune arrived to find Tsunade fighting Orochimaru and Kabuto, only for her to freeze up at the sight of blood. Naruto remembered how he jumped in and fought Kabuto, beating him with his completed Rasengan, having learned to stabilize it with a Shadow Clone.
'And then…then what happened?' Naruto thought trying to remember what happened after he took Kabuto out, only to wince and grab his chest at another surge of pain.
Before Naruto froze as he remembered that just when he hit Kabuto with his Rasengan, the spy had hit him in the chest too. The feeling of pain as he fell to the ground, before everything started going numb and then…
"I…I…died…" Naruto muttered as he fell to his hands and knees, realizing that whatever Kabuto did…it killed him.
"I…I'm actually…dead…" Said Naruto as he felt shock, horror and devastation at the realization that he died, before he looked around at his surroundings.
"Then this is…the afterlife?" Naruto said, wondering what kind of afterlife this was that there's nothing and no one in it.
"Not quite. This is more of a middle ground, where those that die pass through before going to the Pure Land or to Hell." Someone said, making Naruto tense and look around.
"Wh-who's there?!" Questioned Naruto, still not seeing anything or where the voice is coming from.
"I'm right in front of you." Said the voice, with the whiskered blonde quickly looking forward, but still didn't see anything.
Only for his eyes to widen when something seemed to rise up out of the void in front of him, revealing…Naruto wasn't really sure what it was supposed to be.
With the figure looking to be made out of pure darkness or if a shadow came to life, though it didn't have any defining features beyond being humanoid in shape. While its voice didn't sound male or female, not even a mix, and instead was just…there.
Naruto couldn't help but shiver at how the being looked at him, or at least he guessed it was looking at him with the way its head was tilted down towards him. Feeling as if it was instead looking through him, being able to see every little thing there is about him.
"Wh-what…what are you?" Naruto said nervous at what this thing was.
"Me? Nothing special, just your friendly neighborhood cosmic entity, created to watch over Purgatory or Limbo if you prefer. Making sure all the souls that pass through go to their rightful place." Said the entity, which only made Naruto more nervous.
"Th-th-th-the-then…a-ar-ar-are y-yo-you h-he-he-here…to…to take me…to one of those places?" Naruto asked, only for the entity to seemingly release a breath.
"Unfortunately, you won't be going to the afterlife, due to your…circumstances." The entity replied, with Naruto's nervousness turning into annoyance for a moment.
"Circumstances? What circumstances?! I died! I was killed and now I'm stuck here! And you just said you guide souls to the afterlife! So why won't you do it for me?!" Said Naruto, only to gulp and pale at remembering what he's talking to and that the entity could easily just send him to Hell.
Thankfully the entity didn't get angry at his attitude, having gotten used to it whenever something like this happens.
"Yes, that is my purpose, but you also aren't a normal dead person. You were a Jinchūriki, and more than that you were the most recent Transmigrant of Asura Ōtsutsuki." Revealed the entity, only for this to confuse the Uzumaki.
"Who's Asura Ōtsutsuki? And what do you mean I'm his Transmigrant?" Questioned Naruto.
"Asura was the younger son of the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, and the younger brother of Indra Ōtsutsuki. To keep it short, Asura was chosen to become Hagoromo's successor in teaching humanity Ninshu, a position Indra believed was rightfully his as the eldest son and being considered a genius in Ninshu. It eventually lead the brothers to fighting each other for the rest of their lives, and even after they died their powerful Chakra remained, entering into a cycle of reincarnation where their Chakra would pass down through their descendants who would fight just like the brothers until they died as well and then then cycle repeats itself, all the way up to Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha. And now you are Asura's most recent Transmigrant, along with your teammate Satsuki Uchiha being Indra's." The entity explained, much to Naruto's shock.
Learning that not just the Sage of Six Paths is real, but that he's basically the reincarnation of one of his sons.
"O-okay, but…what does this have to do with me not being able to go to the afterlife?" Naruto said, still not seeing why couldn't go to the afterlife.
"That is due to you being the Jinchūriki of Kurama, or the Kyūbi as you know it, and being Asura's Transmigrant. It's because of the sins they committed, along with the sins committed by the rest of Asura's Transmigrants, you can't pass on to the afterlife. Instead you'll have to be reincarnated as a means of cleansing your soul." Said the entity, making Naruto look at it in disbelief and anger.
"Why?! I didn't do anything, why do I have to cleanse my soul for their sins?!" Demanded Naruto, angry at how he's being denied the chance at going to the afterlife because of sins that weren't even his.
"And you think you're the first that's been put through this trial? There have been other Jinchūriki before you, other Transmigrants, all of them were put through it to cleanse their souls. Satsuki will also be put through it when she dies as well. Not only that, but you're both a Transmigrant and a Jinchūriki, making it even harder." The entity said, with Naruto clenching his fists before forcing himself to try and calm down.
"Can…can you just explain it all? Why I have to go through this." Said Naruto, wanting to try and understand all of this.
"Asura's and Indra's souls are already in Hell, paying for their own sins, but because their Chakra still exists and reincarnates those new Transmigrants don't just inherit their Chakra, but the sins they committed as well due to how Chakra is tied to Spiritual Energy and the soul. Making it so even the moment the new Transmigrants are born their souls are already tainted and when they die they're put through trials to cleanse themselves, while the Chakra immediately jumps to new hosts once both Transmigrants are dead. The same is for Jinchūriki, as the moment a Bijū is sealed inside a person they become connected to the point if one dies, so does the other. But like with Asura's and Indra's Chakra, a Bijū can't truly die as when they do their Chakra disperses and eventually reforms, while their Jinchūriki's soul is still tainted from having the Bijū inside them, tainted with that Bijū's sins. So, when a Jinchūriki dies, they also need to go through trials to cleanse their soul of their Bijū's sins. It's why this system was set up in the first place, because if it wasn't all Transmigrants and Jinchūriki would automatically be sent to Hell for sins they didn't commit, but this way they have a chance to cleanse themselves." Explained the entity with the Uzumaki listened along, still not liking how he has to go through this.
"And this has happened before? With other Jinchūriki? Did the Kyūbi have Jinchūriki before me?" Naruto asked, with the entity nodding in response.
"Yes, you're Kurama's third Jinchūriki, with the previous two having gone through the trial as well, with the second still going through it at the moment in another world. But keep in mind while these trials are meant to cleanse your soul, you can just as easily end up adding sins rather than purifying them, which all depend on your actions. And when the time comes, if your soul still isn't purified enough, then we have to go through this whole process again until you've cleansed your soul to an appropriate level." The entity warned, making Naruto nod shakily at the idea of having to constantly reincarnate.
"O-okay. It…it should be easy, right. I just have to be nice and help people, and not do anything bad." Said Naruto, figuring it wouldn't be so bad to get a second chance at life.
"It sounds rather easy when you put it like that, except as I said, for you it's much more difficult as you not only have the sins of Asura, his past Transmigrants and Kurama to deal with all together. You have to deal with the full brunt of Kurama's sins rather than just their taint due to the fact that the Yondaime Hokage only sealed half of Kurama in you, taking the other half with him into the Shinigami's stomach. So, when you died, Kurama truly died as well and unfortunately the Shinigami already has a claim to Kurama, so it can't be sent on a trial, meaning you need to take the trial in Kurama's place as well for all of its sins." Said the entity, much to the whiskered blondes disbelief.
"Are you kidding me?!" Naruto yelled, not even caring anymore about angering the entity, feeling tempted to just take the chance of going to Hell rather than deal with all of that.
At least then he'd get the chance to try and find that bastard Asura for putting him in this damn mess in the first place!
"Afraid not. But you still have a good portion of Kurama's Chakra in you, which you'll be able to keep in your new life along with your own Chakra. However, I'd advise you against using it since Kurama's no longer there to regulate it, you'll want to wait until you've trained your self-control and mental fortitude to handle it." Said the entity, Naruto still looked annoyed at what he has to do before shaking his head.
"Fine…just…send me wherever it is you're going to send me." Naruto said, knowing he didn't have a choice and could only hope he didn't have to do this more than once.
Nodding in response, the entity waved its hand causing Naruto to disperse into particles of light as he was sent to the new world he'd be reborn in.
'I believe I just sent him to the same world I sent his mother to.' Thought the entity, realizing the world it sent Naruto to, is the same world he sent Kushina Uzumaki too as well.
Waving its hand again, the entity opened a window into the world and seeing what Kushina was doing.
With her looking exactly the same she did in her first life with long bright red hair, pale skin, and violet eyes. While her attire consisted of a short-sleeved, tan kimono-like blouse with a dark embroidered border, held closed with a black obi, a dark short skirt and stockings that stopped at her thighs, along with red sandals.
Though the most noticeable change was that she was a child again, being thirteen-years-old just like Naruto.
The entity would've had a deadpan expression, if it had a face, as it watched Kushina ruthlessly beat up four boys before throwing them into a dumpster.
"Any of you fuckers call me Tomato again and next time I'll be throwing you into the hospital!"
'It's honestly, not surprising she's ended up a delinquent in her new life.' Thought the entity before it paused at realizing the chance of Naruto and Kushina encountering each other in this new world.
And the fact that both Naruto and Kushina would still have the memories of their past lives, so the redhead would likely recognize her son if they meet.
"…I'm starting to wonder if that was a good idea." The entity muttered, wondering if it was good to put Naruto and Kushina in the same world, already realizing it likely wasn't its best move.
Before the entity shrugged, figuring that aside from some awkwardness after realizing their relation to each other from their past-lives, there isn't anything really bad to worry about.
'I'm sure it'll be fine.' The entity thought, sinking back into the ground to wait for the next person that'll arrive to be reincarnated.
*With Rika*
Meanwhile, Rika Nonaka sighed as she entered her room, closing the door behind her.
Rika is a thirteen-year-old girl with fair, pale skin, purple eyes, and shoulder-length ginger-colored hair held up in a ponytail. With her attire consisting of a dark green shirt with a broken skull and crossbones design in the front, a black jacket with a pocket on each side, short button-fly blue jeans, black socks, blueish gray and white steel-toed sneakers, and buckles around her waist and leg.
'That was a waste of time. I was hoping for a challenge, but I didn't even need to try at all.' Rika thought, tossing the medal she won at the D-1 Grand Prix.
Having entered and won the tournament, which also earned her the title of Digimon Queen, but had been hoping to find some worthy opponents. Only to be disappointed with each competitor she crushed, with not even the other finalist giving her a decent challenge.
"Huh, I am so bored." Rika sighed, throwing herself onto the ground with her hands behind her head, wishing that for once she would get a challenge to test herself and grow stronger.
Before the redhead suddenly shot up into a sitting position, looking around in shock at seeing how her entire room suddenly grew darker.
"Woah! What's happening?!" Said Rika, only to notice her Card Reader letting out a bright glow before a blinding flash was released from it.
Rika gasped in shock when what looked like three glowing windows appeared in front of her, making her lean back at what they were.
"What's going on?" Rika said, wondering if she fell asleep and this is some crazy dream she's having.
Only to soon see different creatures appearing in the windows, unable to make out anything but their outlines. Though Rika looked at them in shock, being able to tell that these were Digimon, real Digimon and not just on cards.
'…Okay, definitely dreaming.' Rika thought, refusing to believe that this was actually happening.
"There she is."
"The Digimon Queen."
"She is the child."
"Yes! You are the one!"
"Make me Digivolve!"
"Make me stronger!"
Rika began backing away as all the Digimon began talking at once, all of them wanting her to pick them, to make them stronger and Digivolve. With the girl starting to feel a little afraid as the Digimon began emerging from the portals, worried that they'd start fighting to decide who would be her partner.
"I can't tame all of you! I just want one strong Digimon!" Rika yelled, only desiring to have one strong Digimon that can defeat all others.
With one of her cards suddenly glowing brightly as it changed, the sight causing the Digimon to begin retreating back into the portals as they felt something happening. Rika then gasped when the portals suddenly closed around, but her room stayed dark.
"I'm definitely dreaming." Muttered Rika as she crawled back over to the table.
Her attention going to the card she knew wasn't there before, seeing it was a completely blue card with a grey edge. Feeling confused as she moved it, causing a yellow D to appear with a Digimon coming out of it.
"Huh, this is different." Rika said before grabbing her Card Reader and swiped it.
"Alright. Let's see what you got." Stated Rika, only to be shocked when her Card Reader began glowing brightly and transforming.
Turning into a smaller device that fit in the palm of her hand, with it being primarily white with a blue strap, blue buttons, and a blue circle around the screen.
"…Yeah, I'm dreaming, definitely dreaming." Stated Rika hoping that she'll wake up from this "dream" soon before it gets even crazier.
Only for the device to start glowing again, much to her shock at what kind of dream this even is.
'Forget it, if I'm dreaming then nothing bad can really happen, right. Besides, maybe this means I get a wish. And there's only one thing I really want.' Thought Rika deciding to just play along, before closing her eyes.
'I wish that Renamon was mine and I knew how to make her Digivolve. I wish I was a real Digimon Tamer.' Rika thought holding the device close and trying to channel her wish and desire into it, that it could help her become a real Digimon Tamer.
Before her room returned the normal, making the redhead wonder if she'll be waking up from her "dream" soon. Only to gasp when she saw someone floating right in front of her.
Seeing it was a boy her age with fair skin, bright blue eyes, and spiky blonde hair, along with three unique whisker-like marks on his cheeks. While his attire consisted of orange and grey shoes with black soles and laces, black pants held up by a dark grey belt with a red swirl buckle, a black shirt with a white line going down the center and a black strap going across hic chest with a silver buckle, black fingerless gloves with red swirls on the back of them, and a burnt orange jacket with two long coattails.
"What?! You're not Renamon?! Who are you?! And how did you get in my room?!" Rika demanded, while Naruto blinked in confusion at where he now was before looking at Rika.
"Uh…I'm Naruto Uzumaki. And I'm pretty sure you brought me here, with that." Said Naruto pointing at the device, making Rika look at it before looking at Naruto with a frown.
*With Kushina*
After she returned home from dealing with the boys that thought they could mess with her. Kushina had noticed her own strange Blue Card among her collection, before putting it through her Card Reader to see what it was. Only to be shocked when her Card Reader changed into similar device as Rika's, only rather than blue, the strap, buttons, and circle were crimson red.
With Kushina being further shocked when an actual Digimon appeared right in front of her.
With it being a bipedal fox-like Digimon that had a feminine build, making Kushina assume they're a girl. Most of her body is covered in yellow fur, save for the tips of her tail and ears, underbelly, hands and legs from the knees down, and the purple futatsudomoe symbols on her thighs. She also has wing-like tufts of yellow fur on her shoulders and a large, mane-like tuft of white fur on her chest. She was wearing purple sleeves that cover her forearms with yin-yang symbols on the back of the hands. She has three clawed fingers on her hands and three clawed toes on her feet. While she had purple eyes with black sclera.
"Renamon?!" Kushina said in shock and disbelief at the sight of a real Digimon.
"I've been searching for a strong Tamer and you…are the one. It's no accident that we're a team." Said Renamon, while Kushina still looked at her in shock.
So, what did you think, good. Yep we see that Naruto has died, having been killed by Kabuto during the search for Tsunade, with Tsunade having been unable to heal Naruto leading to his death and his soul ending up in Limbo. With him then meeting an entity that explains due to being Kurama's Jinchūriki and Asura's newest Transmigrant, Naruto needs to go through a reincarnation trial in order to cleanse his soul of their sins, along with the sins of Asura's other Transmigrants.
Giving an explanation for why and that others have gone through the trial, with Naruto also having it even worse due to Kurama having truly died and the Shinigami already having a claim to it, leaving Naruto to suffer the full weight of Kurama's sins and need to cleanse himself even more. But will at least still have his Chakra and some of Kurama's in his new life. Before he's sent to the new world, which is also revealed to be the same world Kushina was sent to for her own trials.
Then we see Rika arriving home from the D-1 Grand Prix, disappointed at not finding a worthy opponent to challenge. Before suddenly several portals open into the Digital World as several Digimon appear, each wanting to be her partner, with Rika wishing for one strong Digimon to become a Tamer, desiring Renamon, only for Naruto to appear much to her shock and confusion.
Finally we see Kushina finding her own Blue Card and gains Renamon as her own Digimon Partner. So, for those that like the story, thanks for your support. For those that don't or at least don't like the direction taken, you're more than welcomed to drop the story. But thanks for giving the story a chance anyway.
