Hello all Storm here with a new chapter! And here we'll be seeing Naruto and Rika getting some new cards, and Naruto getting his Tamer to open up. Along with them encountering Kushina and Renamon, and a few surprises. So, without further ado.

It wasn't long before Naruto and Rika arrived at a card shop with the Uzumaki noticing it was different from the one he'd gone to.
"Card Capital?" Naruto asked, looking at Rika as they went inside, finding only a few people inside buying packs of Digimon cards along with a few tables in the back where you could battle.
"It's where I get all my Digimon cards. Now start picking some booster packs out." Said Rika, wanting to see what cards he'll be able to pull this time.
Nodding in response, Naruto began grabbing a couple booster packs that looked interesting with Rika also picking out ones she normally wouldn't get. Seeing how her partner seemed to be picking packs at random, the redhead figured she could get lucky with the packs she chooses as well.
Once they'd picked out a good amount of booster packs, they went over to the counter and paid for them with Rika eagerly opening them up to see what they pulled. Unable to help but smile in excitement, pleased at seeing the cards they were able to pull. Though felt some annoyance that most of the cards she pulled, while good, still weren't as powerful as the ones Naruto pulled.
"Good job, these are going to be really useful in future battles." Rika stated as they left Card Capital to return home, pleased at the new additions to her collection and the cards she'll be able to Digi-Modify Naruto with.
"That's good, since there's no telling what other Digimon will end up appearing or how strong they'll be." Said Naruto before looking at Rika curiously.
"Though how did you get interested in Digimon in the first place? Since…" Naruto said before trailing off, making Rika look at him in annoyance.
"Since what? Because I'm girl, you wouldn't expect me to be interested or skilled in Digimon? Is that it?" Rika retorted, only for the whiskered blonde to quickly shake his head.
"No, it's not that I swear! You just don't seem like you'd care about a game like that, beyond just winning at it. So, I was wondering what made you get interested in the first place." Said Naruto, with the Tamer letting out a huff and continued looking over her new cards.
"It was just something different from other games with it having video games, collectible trading cards and the anime series, it wasn't like anything I've seen before and it got me interested. I focused more in the cards rather than the video game since it's a better challenge to go against other players in person, rather than against a machine. At least it used to be a challenge, but I eventually got better and better until I didn't even need to try. Even when I entered a tournament hoping for a challenge, I still didn't have to try, I didn't even need to prepare. The show is also fun, seeing real Digimon in it fighting alongside their Tamers, it made me wish to become a Tamer myself." Said Rika, with Naruto nodding at this before looking at her.
"So, you've never lost in the card game, not even once? That would get pretty boring, always winning and never being able to improve." Naruto said, only for the redhead to scowl in annoyance.
"I've only lost once and my opponent was more annoying than skilled. If we ended up battling again, I'd crush him this time." Said Rika in annoyance at remembering losing in the Digimon Card Tournament before entering the D-1 Grand Prix.
Having hoped Ryo would actually take part in it just so she'd have the chance to completely crush him and prove she's the best.
"Well losing isn't so bad, it gives you the chance to get back up and try again until you win." Stated Naruto, knowing he's failed plenty of times but didn't let that stop him.
"Or it just proves you don't have what it takes to win the first time." Rika said, refusing to lose ever again, especially now that she's a real Tamer and can prove she's the strongest against real Digimon.
"Is that why you had such a big collection? You want to prove you love anime and manga more than anyone else?" Naruto asked with a teasing smirk, causing Rika to blush in embarrassment and glare at him.
"I told you not to speak of it!" Hissed Rika, making the Uzumaki chuckle and hold his hands up.
"Hey, it's fine, I'm not judging. It is a cool collection and I guess it makes sense you'd be interested in it, after getting into Digimon." Said Naruto, only to see Rika's blush intensify making him grin.
"Wait…did you already like it before Digimon?" Said Naruto, with the redhead only giving him a warning glare in response.
"Don't forget which of us activates Digi-Modify Cards!" Rika growled, only for the Hybrid to still grin at her.
"…Do you perhaps have costumes-" Naruto said only to stop and laugh when Rika tried punching him, which he quickly avoided as her entire face turning red.
"Not another word!" Said Rika giving him a warning glare with Naruto only being further amused but stayed silent, knowing he'll have plenty of time to mess with her.
*Later*
Rika was relieved when Naruto didn't tease her any further on the way home, before the whiskered blonde vanished into the shadows once they arrived.
"Rika! There you are!" Someone said as Rika entered her home and began taking off her shoes, frowning in annoyance when she saw her mother Rumiko.
"Where were you? I got back and was hoping to tell you about my latest photoshoot." Said Rumiko, annoying Rika further.
"I went to go get more Digimon cards." Said Rika tersely, making Rumiko blink before sighing.
"That odd game you've been obsessed with? Didn't you just enter a tournament or something like that a few months ago." Rumiko said, not understanding her daughters interest in a card game.
"Surprised you even remember that." Rika muttered, not expecting her mother to remember she even entered a tournament.
"What was that?" Rumiko asked looking at Rika.
"I said I just wanted to get some new cards after entering the Grand Prix, so I could change my deck." Said Rika, with Rumiko blinking in confusion.
"Grand Prix? Isn't that a supposed to be a racing tournament?" Said Rumiko, making Rika sigh in annoyance.
"It was the other tournament I just entered and won, by the way." Rika said, looking at her mother with narrowed eyes.
"Oh, well congrats then sweetheart! I'm sure you did your best!" Rumiko said, smiling happily, even if she didn't fully understand the card game.
"But anyway I wanted to tell you about my latest photoshoot. I was talking with my agent and seeing if we'd be able to do a special photoshoot with the two us! Wouldn't that be exciting, both of us dressing up and-" Said Rumiko, only for the redhead to brush past her.
"Yeah, real exciting, I'll think about it. I'm actually tired and want to get some asleep." Said Rika, having no interest in hearing about her photoshoot and definitely not being part of one.
"Okay, let me know if you're interested! As I have been seeing the most beautiful outfits and dresses that you would look amazing in!" Rumiko called out with Rika quickly walking towards her room, closing the door behind her.
"Ugh! I swear she never even hears anything beyond what she wants to." Said Rika in annoyance, while Naruto emerged from the shadows once the door was closed.
Looking at his Tamer curiously and with a slight frown, having seen the interaction between her and her mother. Especially how Rika didn't seem to like Rumiko very much, probably even seemed to resent her.
"You don't seem to like your mom much, do you." Naruto stated, making Rika look at him with her own frown, contemplating whether to say anything before sitting down at her table.
"No, I don't. She's hardly ever home, barely attends any events at my school and when she does she usually ends up being called away for more photoshoots. And then when she is home, she's always pushing me to act more like some prissy little girl that's eager to wear dresses and have my picture taken. She didn't even notice when I first started playing Digimon. When she actually saw me organizing my cards, she thought they were tarot cards and that I decided to become a fortuneteller for some reason." Said Rika with her annoyance growing.
"The only times she actually talks to me it's trying to convince me to follow in her footsteps, to just be another airhead that stands in front of a camera wearing stupid outfits. Not caring about what I would want." Rika said, with Naruto's frown growing and sat across from her.
"I'll admit, I know that not every family is perfect, I even had some friends whose families were…very dysfunctional." Said Naruto, thinking of Haku, Gaara, Satsuki, and Neji, how all of them had rather dysfunctional families.
Though that was putting it mildly.
"But some of them were able to work things out and get better. And from what I saw it does seem like your mom does care about you, even if she isn't always around to show it, and does want to try spending time with you, in her own way." Naruto said, before he stopped when Rika gave him a warning look.
"If she cared about spending time with me, then she would actually try rather than constantly going off. And she always wants things done her way, no one else gets say in it. It's either her way or no way. I simply refuse to do things her way, she can either accept it or not, I don't really care." Retorted Rika, making the Uzumaki's frown deepen.
"Well, have you ever tried getting her to see things your way. To show her what you like and accept what you would want to do, rather than just ignoring her when she is around." Said Naruto, only for Rika to now glare at him.
"How about you just worry about battling Digimon rather than my family! Now, drop it!" Rika said, with it coming out as an order, making Naruto sigh before he stood up.
"Alright, I won't say anything else. But, just so you know, I was an orphan in my world. I never got the chance to even meet my parents or know who they were and was treated as an outcast by my village for my entire life, just for something out of my control." Revealed Naruto, causing the Tamers eyes to widen in shock while any anger she felt faded away.
"I won't push you to talk to your mother or anything like that, but I think that you should at least try talking to her at some point. As do you really want your relationship with your mother to stay the way it is, or at least try to make it better?" Naruto asked, with Rika still looking at him with wide eyes before she frowned.
"That's all I'll say." Said Naruto before he exited her room and jumped up onto the roof.
Watching him leave, Rika didn't move for a few moments before she got up and started changing into her pajamas, now really feeling tired and wanting to get some sleep.
Though unknown to the Tamer and Hybrid, Naruto was seen on his way out of Rika's room and onto the roof by her grandmother, Seiko Hata. Having come to check on her granddaughter after she got home, after suddenly leaving when she got back from school. Wanting to see how she was after likely running into her mother.
Only to be surprised when she spotted a boy coming out of Rika's room before he suddenly vanished, stopping Seiko from going to Rika's room.
'Who was that? And why was he in Rika's room?' Seiko thought, looking to her granddaughters room curiously, having not heard anything that sounded like Rika was in danger or needed help.
Only making her more curious at who the boy was and what his connection to her granddaughter is.
*With Kushina*
Meanwhile, Kushina was tossing and turning in her sleep, her face scrunching up as she kept seeing different things flashing through her mind. First seeing an elderly woman with long maroon hair with two buns. Along with finding herself resting her head on the woman's lap while she seemed to be comforting about something.
"We came here to be the vessels of the Kyūbi…but before that, we must find love and fill the vessel with it."
'Granny…Mito…' Kushina thought, moving around as everything suddenly changed.
Now finding herself being pulled through a forest by three strangely dressed men before all of them were suddenly knocked out. Before seeing a boy her age in front of her, only for him to lift her up and jump through the air on top of a tree. Kushina also noticed how he was holding strands of her own red hair in his hand.
"Because I know that you're strong, in body and in spirit. But this is a fight between two villages. It's different from other fights, so…I didn't want to lose you."
'Minato…' Thought Kushina, unable to help but see how similar he and Naruto really looked, when she bumped into the latter.
Before it all changed again, seeing Minato as an adult sitting at a table with an older man with long white hair and reading a book. The redhead also felt like she was older as well and was rubbing her stomach, shocking her when she saw she was pregnant.
"Each chapter really seems like a page out of your own life, sensei. It almost reads like an autobiography."
"Yeah…but it didn't sell at all. For my next one, I think I'll add some spicy elements to pep it up."
"The way the protagonist refused to give up, even at the end…that was really cool. He's just like you, sensei."
"Yeah, you think so?"
"We want to raise our child to be a shinobi like the one in your book! That's why we've decided to name him after the main character in your book."
"What?! Are you sure about that?! I mean I randomly came up with it while eating ramen."
"Naruto…It's a beautiful name."
'Naruto…he's my…' Kushina thought feeling shock as she began realizing just who Naruto actually was to her.
Only for everything to change again, as Kushina found herself suspended in the air with a massive claws stabbing through her body, with Minato behind her. While resting on an altar was a baby with bright blonde hair and three whisker marks on his cheeks.
Naruto…don't be a picky eater, eat a lot and grow big and strong! Take your bath everyday…go to bed early and sleep well. Study hard on your Ninjutsu…I was never very good at it…maybe you will…everyone is good at some things and not so good at others…and if things don't go so well…don't get so depressed. At the academy, listen to your teachers. Make friends! It doesn't matter how many…just make sure that they're people you can really trust…and a few is enough! Regarding the Three Prohibitions of the shinobi, be careful when you loan and borrow money, make sure to save your missions pay carefully, and no drinking alcohol until your 20…too much sake is harmful for your body. As for girls…well…I'm a girl so I don't really know what to say…but sooner or later, you'll want a girlfriend and that's normal…just…don't fall for a strange one…try to find someone…like me. Oh…one more thing…watch out for Jiraiya-sensei…you know! Naruto…there's going to be hard and painful times ahead…take good care of yourself…! Find a goal…a dream…and don't stop trying until it comes true! There's…there's…there's so much more I want to tell you…to teach you…I want to stay with you longer…I love you."
"I don't care about going to any afterlife! If I can't go there, then let me go back, please! Please…please let me go back to my son…"
"I'm afraid I can't do that. All I can do is send you off to be cleansed for carrying the Kyūbi. But know this, you will have the chance to see him again, one day. Perhaps in a new life, you will meet, but unfortunately not on this one. Farewell, Kushina Uzumaki."
"NO!" Kushina screamed shooting up in her bed, panting heavily while looking wildly before looking at Renamon when she quickly appeared.
"Are you alright, Kushina?!" Renamon asked while looking for what could've made her scream, only to not see anything out of the ordinary.
"I…I'm…I'm f-fine…Renamon. It…it was just…more dreams." Replied Kushina as she began calming down, while the vixen looked at her in concern.
"Was it those dreams you told me about?" Said Renamon, with the redhead having told her partner about her dreams and that she had been reincarnated from another world.
Something that had truly shocked Renamon, even more so when Kushina demonstrated her abilities to her. Not expecting to come across a human, let alone that her Tamer, would have such power. But it didn't change anything for Renamon, instead only feeling admiration for Kushina after hearing about some of the dreams/memories she lived through.
"Yes…I need to see Naruto again, quickly." Kushina said, needing to have confirmation if her suspicions were right and Naruto was like her.
"Why?" Questioned Renamon with a frown, wondering why she needed to see him again.
"Because I think he's my son from my past-life." Revealed Kushina, much to the Animal Digimon's shock.
*Timeskip-One Day*
*With Rika*
Rika was pleased that she didn't have school today, allowing her the chance to simply wander around Shinjuku to try and clear her head. Having woken up, still thinking over everything Naruto said last night, making her decide to simply go exploring to take her mind off of it.
With her now wearing a white T-shirt with short turquoise sleeves, a yellow turtleneck, and a dark blue broken heart on the front, short button-fly blue jeans, red wrist bands, white socks, red steel-toed sneakers, and buckles around her waist and left leg, along with her D-Power and a card case on her belt.
'What I wouldn't give for a Digimon to show up again.' Rika thought, wishing a Digimon would Bio-Emerge to fight and help distract her.
Only to be pulled from her thoughts when her D-Power began beeping and flashing red, making Rika smirk as she grabbed it and saw the compass appear on the screen.
'Maybe this thing really does grant wishes.' Thought Rika before she began running towards where it said the Digimon was located.
Following the compass to the park, Rika moved the D-Power around before it began zeroing in on the Digimon's locations.
"I don't see any sign of a Digimon Bio-Emerging or a Digital Field around here." Naruto stated as he appeared beside the redhead, not seeing anything that'd show there was a Digimon.
"It'll probably show up here any moment now, so be ready." Rika said, figuring they were able to arrive just before the Digimon Bio-Emerged.
"You'll probably be here for a while if you're expecting a Digimon to Bio-Emerge." Stated Kushina stepping out from behind a tree, with Renamon soon joining her as she emerged from the shadows, much to Naruto's and Rika's surprise.
"Renamon?!" Said Rika in surprise at seeing the Digimon she originally wanted to be partnered with.
"You're a Tamer too?!" Naruto said, not expecting Kushina to also be a Tamer, making Rika's head snap towards him with narrowed eyes.
"You met her?!" Rika said, not liking that he encountered another Tamer and didn't tell her.
"Yeah, yesterday on my way back to your house. But I didn't know she was a Tamer!" Replied Naruto, with the two looking at Kushina and Renamon warily, thinking that they were here to fight.
While Renamon got ready in case this ended up turning violent, ready to attack the whiskered blonde if it came to that. Kushina also looked between Naruto, her most likely son from her past life, and Rika, a rather cute redhead that seemed to have a temper, making her grin.
"It looks like you might actually have some competition in getting Naruto's affection, Renamon." Kushina stated, causing the vixen to stumble and give her Tamer a dry look.
"Must you do that now of all times?" Renamon asked in chagrin, with Kushina's grin merely growing bigger.
"I'm just helping my loyal partner be prepared to expect a love rival. And from what I see she does look rather cute, but also has a temper, which can be another plus in her favor." Said Kushina, and if her suspicions were correct, she also couldn't object to her sons taste in women either.
While Naruto and Rika were shocked at her sudden words before blushing brightly at the implication that they were together.
"It's not like that!" Rika yelled, embarrassed that she'd assume they were together or that she liked her annoying partner.
"We just met!" Said Naruto, while feeling further embarrassment that Kushina also implied Renamon liked him as well.
"You two shouldn't underestimate how love works, you never know who you could end up accepting into your heart and when it could happen." Kushina said, smiling at them, already being able to tell they would be good together.
'But that doesn't mean I won't be helping Renamon get her fox.' Thought Kushina, wanting to help her partner win Naruto's affection as well.
"Enough! Just tell us why you lured me and Naruto here?!" Rika demanded while glaring at Kushina in annoyance, which was ruined by her still blushing face.
With the reincarnated redhead thankfully losing her smile and gaining a serious expression as she looked at Naruto.
"Are you from the Elemental Nations?" Questioned Kushina, getting straight to the point and seeing if he was like her or remembered anything.
Making Naruto look at her in surprise that she knew about the Elemental Nations, before realizing that she was like him.
'Does that mean she was a Jinchūriki too or a Transmigrant?' Naruto thought, knowing she either had to be a Jinchūriki or a Transmigrant to end up reincarnated.
"Yeah, I am. But how did you know that? We only bumped into each other yesterday. How could you know or suspect I was from the Elemental Nations?" Naruto asked, wanting to know how she could tell he's from the Elemental Nations.
"Because my name is Kushina Uzumaki, I was the second Jinchūriki of the Kyūbi no Yōko. And…I was your mother in my past-life." Kushina revealed, much to Naruto's and Rika's shock.
*Later*
"So…you're my Kaa-san and my Tou-san is…Minato Namikaze, the Yondaime Hokage. The same guy that sealed the Kyūbi into me." Naruto said slowly as he began processing all the information Kushina had just told him.
Explaining how she and his father met, the reason why she had been brought to Konoha in the first place to become the next Jinchūriki of the Kyūbi after Mito Uzumaki, the Shodai's wife. How she was kidnapped by Kumo Ninja, only for Minato to save her.
Along with what happened the night he was born, how a Masked Man with the Sharingan attacked, killing the Anbu guards and midwives, and would've killed him if his father hadn't gotten him away in time. Only for it to be a trap as it allowed the Masked Man to extract the Kyūbi from Kushina and put it under his control before having it attack Konoha.
Leading to Minato sealing half into himself and the other half into Naruto to Kushina's objections, only for them to die protecting him from the Kyūbi's claw.
"Yes. I was able to live a little longer, long enough for the Sandaime to arrive and tell him your name while also asking him to protect you. Then I died and met that entity, learning what happens to Jinchūriki when they die, how they need to reincarnate to cleanse themselves. I honestly didn't care and would've preferred just being sent back to you, but it wouldn't do that and sent me to be reborn here. Though I guess it seems our reincarnations weren't the same." Kushina said while looking at her son, who was now a Digimon.
"I guess not. Since I was sent here exactly the same, the only difference was my clothes and that I was turned into a Human/Digimon Hybrid." Said Naruto, with Renamon feeling even more intrigued to learn he's a hybrid and possessed the same abilities as Kushina.
"I was actually reborn here, having to grow up again and everything while having parents that are constantly overseas for work, so I'm usually on my own. With my memories only recently starting to return as dreams, along with my Chakra activating as well." Said Kushina before looking at Naruto in concern and worry.
"How…how exactly did you die?" Kushina asked, saddened that he ended up dying, possibly at a young age if he came here as he is.
"I was on a mission with Pervy-Sage, or Jiraiya if you knew him, to bring back Tsunade so she could become Hokage after the Sandaime died. But Orochimaru and one of his spies, Kabuto, attacked us and Kabuto killed me. Having managed to strike me in the heart with a Chakra Scalpel when I hit him with a Rasengan." Naruto revealed, much to Kushina's horror and anger.
Though she also couldn't help but snort in amusement at the nickname he gave Jiraiya, knowing it's rather fitting.
"At least Jiraiya looked after you and taught you." Said Kushina, only for the Hybrid to look at her in confusion.
"What're you talking about?" Naruto asked, making Kushina pause and look at him.
"Didn't…didn't Jiraiya raise you after we died? Or at least check in on you?" Questioned Kushina, with Naruto still not understanding what she meant.
"I only met Pervy-Sage during the month break for the Chūnin Exams a few weeks before I died, where he treated me like a nuisance before I managed to convince him to train me. As for teaching me, he threw me off a cliff just to make to use the Kyūbi's Chakra for the Summoning Jutsu and he only showed me the steps for the Rasengan before leaving me to figure out how to actually do it." Said Naruto, much to Kushina's shock and anger.
"Are you kidding me?! We trusted that perverted asshole to take care of you if something happened and he never even checked in on you! And when you actually meet him, he tries killing you!" Kushina yelled, swearing if Jiraiya was ever sent here, she'd tear him apart.
"You still haven't told me why he would take care of me." Naruto said, still not knowing why his parents would trust Jiraiya to raise him.
"He's your godfather! We picked your name from the character of his first book, the only one not filled with Kami-damned smut!" Said Kushina, causing Naruto's eyes to widen in shock.
"What?!" Said Naruto in disbelief, before feeling anger that Jiraiya was his godfather.
"What about the Sandaime? Did he at least take care of you?" Kushina asked, hoping the Hokage at least respected her dying wish.
"The first time I even met the old man was while I was living in the forest after catching some fish. While he did for me give me an apartment and a monthly stipend, as well as spend time with me when he wasn't busy. He never told me about the Kyūbi or who you were, only ever telling me that knowing who my parents were wouldn't bring back the dead. While I only learned the former a few months ago from one of my instructors in the Academy when they turned out to be a traitor and tried to kill me." Naruto replied, with Kushina's anger only growing at this.
"Seriously?! Not even a hint or some basic information about us?! At least he did more than Jiraiya and actually took care of you… I don't even want to ask, but what about Kakashi? Did he do anything for you at all?" Said Kushina, hoping that at least Kakashi did something.
"…He taught me Surface Walking and teamwork." Said Naruto, making the redheaded Uzumaki cover her face.
"He was your father's student! And he didn't do anything either?!" Kushina said, not believing the three people she trusted to look after Naruto when she and Minato died, two barely did anything while the other kept key information that Naruto should've known.
"Then I take it Mikoto wasn't able to take care of you, either." Stated Kushina, being able to deduce Mikoto wasn't in his life either.
"Satsuki's mom?" Naruto asked in confusion, making Kushina sigh.
"Your godmother and my best friend. Though I'm not angry and you shouldn't be either, if those three didn't do anything then I know Mikoto wouldn't have been able to do anything since there was always a lot of tension between the Uchiha Clan and the rest of Konoha. Something Minato had hoped to fix when he became Hokage. But that never got to happen, with things probably intensifying given when and how we died." Kushina said, not surprised if things ended up getting even worse with how it's known the Sharingan can control the Kyūbi.
'We could've grown up together, only for that to be taken away too.' Thought Naruto, wondering what it would've been like if he and Satsuki grew up together, only to shake his head knowing there's nothing that can be done about it now.
"You…don't need me, do you." Kushina stated in sadness and acceptance, while Naruto shook his head.
"No, I don't. If it was before what happened then maybe I would've liked the chance. But I've gone my entire life without even knowing who my parents were and after everything I've been through, I…don't need them." Naruto said, knowing it's far too late for him to have a chance to have parents or know them, now it's just having the knowledge.
"And I can't exactly be your mother when we're now the same age." Said Kushina, accepting that they wouldn't be able to have a mother-son relationship with what's happened and how different they are, now.
"But that doesn't mean I still wouldn't like having you in my life. Even if it's not as my Kaa-san, I would like having you as a friend, Kushina." Said Naruto, smiling at the redhead which she returned.
"I would like that too, Naruto." Kushina replied, liking that they would still be friends.
Meanwhile Rika and Renamon watched their partner and Tamer respectively, feeling their own shock at everything they just heard. Though the vixen was happy for her Tamer that she was able to reunite with her son, even if they would only be friends, it still made Kushina happy. With even Rika gaining a small smile at the reunion before she quickly schooled her features.
"If that's all, we need to get back home." Said Rika, wanting to return home, now having even more to think about.
"Before you go, Renamon was hoping for the chance to battle." Kushina said, making Rika tense slightly, while Naruto looked at Renamon curiously.
"You want to battle?" Naruto asked, with the Animal Digimon walking up to him and nodding in response.
"Yes, while Kushina said that I can't delete you and load your data, I still wish to battle you. Given that even when you first bumped into Kushina, I could tell you weren't a normal Digimon. Now learning who you are and where you came from, I wish even more to see what you are capable of." Said Renamon, feeling even more interested in battling the Hybrid and seeing how they compare.
"Well I don't mind battling and seeing what you can do, too." Said Naruto before looking at Rika, who frowned at the idea of battling another Digimon he wouldn't load the data of.
But at the same time, she was also curious to see how Naruto stacked up against the Digimon she originally intended to have as her partner.
"Fine, we can battle." Rika said, crossing her arms, while Kushina smiled.
"Great! We can also still give them boosts with Digi-Modify Cards, just nothing too drastic though. Since we aren't fighting to delete our opponents." Said Kushina, with the other redhead nodding in agreement as they both moved back while Naruto and Renamon stood across from each other.
Naruto and Renamon stared each other down, with the vixen narrowing her eyes and ready for what move Naruto would make. While the whiskered blonde wasn't sure what to expect from Renamon and thought how he should attack.
Eventually the Uzumaki decided to make the first move by summoning his Chakra Blades and rushing Renamon, with the Animal Digimon backflipping away when he slashed his swords at her.
"Diamond Storm!" Renamon said, creating multiple glowing, razor sharp leaves which she launched at Naruto.
Naruto grunted in pain as the leaves cut through him, only for the Hybrid to disappear in a cloud of smoke revealing a cut up log, surprising Renamon at his disappearance.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Said Naruto from behind Renamon, creating three clones that all jumped up at the vixen, with Renamon turning her head towards them.
Seeing one of the clones coming at her, Renamon twisted her body around the sword when he thrust at her, grabbing the clones arm and flipping over it.
"Too slow. Power Paw!" Renamon said, surrounding her paw in ghostly flames and slammed it into the clones back, destroying it.
Before grabbed the second clones arm when they tried slicing her, though the Animal Digimon was surprised when the third clone used the second as platform, jumping into the air above her.
"Digi-Modify! Armor Activate!" Said Kushina, swiping an Armor Card, creating a pilebunker on Renamon's hand.
Doing so just in time as the third clone brought its sword down onto Renamon, with the vixen blocking it with her armored paw.
"Spin Kick!" Renamon said, spinning around and slamming her leg into the second clone and destroying it.
"Korenkyaku!" Said Renamon, following it by kicking her leg up at the third clone, slamming her foot into its chin and dispelling it as well.
Landing on the ground, Renamon frowned when she didn't see Naruto anywhere in sight, making her tense and look around for him.
"Digi-Modify! Power activate!" Rika said, swiping a Power Card before Renamon was shocked when the ground underneath her suddenly burst open, grunting in pain as Naruto smashed his fist into her chin.
'He went underground!' Renamon thought in surprise, not expecting Naruto to move underground while she was distracted by the clones.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Said Naruto, creating four clones this time around Renamon while she was in the air.
The vixen grunted again as a clone behind her slammed their foot into her back, knocking her higher up into the air.
"Na!" Said the clone as it kicked Renamon higher into the air.
Though when the next clone rushed forward to attack her, Renamon managed to block its kick and grab the clones leg.
"Swift Strike!" Said Renamon swinging her arm and delivering a swift chop to the clones neck, dispelling it, only for the third clone to take the chance and deliver an uppercut to Renamon's chest
"Ru!" The clone said as it punched the vixen, with the fourth clone jumping off the clones shoulder.
"To!" Said the clone as it smashed its knee into Renamon's chin, knocking her even higher up.
With the vixen's eyes widening as she saw Naruto spinning in the air above her, before gritting her teeth in pain as he delivered a heel dropkick to her head.
"Uzumaki Barrage!" Naruto said as Renamon was sent crashing back to the ground.
"Digi-Modify! Alias activate!" Said Kushina, slashing her card just before Renamon hit the ground, causing her to be replaced by a clone.
"Diamond Storm!" Said Renamon, jumping out a tree and unleashing a barrage of razor sharp leaves at Naruto and his clones.
"Digi-Modify! Speed activate!" Said Rika, using a Speed Card, giving Naruto a boost in speed.
Allowing the Uzumaki to quickly avoid the barrage of leaves, while his clones were destroyed once they were hit.
"Super Chop!" Renamon said, spinning around with her arm becoming a blur to deliver an even faster chop to Naruto's neck as he appeared behind her.
Though the Hybrid managed to block it with one of his swords thanks to his enhanced speed before swinging the blunt end of his second blade at Renamon's chest. Only for the vixen to lean back avoiding the slash, with her backflipping and slamming her foot into Naruto's head. Making the whiskered blonde grunt as he stumbled back.
"Palm Strike!" Said Renamon, rushing towards Naruto and thrusting her palm towards him, only for Naruto to drop down into a crouch dodging her palm strike.
With Naruto then delivering a sweeping kick, knocking Renamon's legs out from under her, with the Animal Digimon managing to catch herself by putting her hands on the ground.
"Koreny-" Said Renamon bending her arms and legs, preparing to launch herself at Naruto and begin kicking him.
"Rasengan!" Naruto said, creating a weaker Rasengan and thrust it towards Renamon's back.
"Digi-Modify! WarGreymon's Brave Shield!" Said Kushina, quickly swiping her card and causing the Brave Shield halves to appear on Renamon's arms.
With the vixen acting quickly, spinning and flipping onto her feet as she slammed the Brave Shield together in front of her, just as Naruto's Rasengan smashed against it. Shocking Renamon when she felt herself being pushed back from the force of the Rasengan.
"Digi-Modify! Hyper Chip activate!" Rika said, sliding her card and increasing Naruto's power by ten percent, which also empowered the Rasengan.
Giving it the boost needed to break through the Brave Shield before exploding, sending Renamon flying back and crashing into a tree. Making the vixen grunt in pain at the impact and the explosion, before quickly getting back up to her feet.
"That…was a rather powerful attack." Stated Renamon in surprise at how powerful the Rasengan was, along with noticing how the whiskered blonde didn't even seem winded.
"Thanks. I actually made it weaker than normal, since I didn't want to hurt you too badly." Said Naruto while giving Rika a look at making his Rasengan stronger than was needed, with the redheaded Tamer only huffing.
"What? We are trying to win and I only used Hyper Chip because she used the Brave Shield. You needed more power if you were going to break through it." Rika said, knowing even if they weren't trying to delete Renamon, she still wanted to win.
While Renamon was further amazed that even when weakened, the Rasengan was still strong enough to push her back, making her glad that he didn't use it as its full power. Honestly unsure if she'd even be able to survive a direct hit from something like that.
"I see. Then let's continue!" Renamon said, charging towards the Uzumaki with Naruto getting ready to keep going.
Only for the two to stop when Rika's and Kushina's Digivice's began beeping and flashing red, before the two Tamer-Digimon teams were surprised as a Digital Field began appearing around them.
"A Digimon's Bio-Emerging?! Here?!" Kushina said in surprise that a Digimon was Bio-Emerging right where they were.
"Looks like we'll need to put our fight on hold." Said Naruto as he and Renamon got ready for whatever Digimon will appear.
"So it seems." Renamon said, feeling some annoyance at the interruption.
Before the four saw a portal opening in front of them, making them tense as the Digimon began Bio-Emerging, only to be shocked when they saw what the Digimon was.
It was much larger than the Digimon they saw before, being even bigger than Deltamon, while resembling a dinosaur with blueish-grey skin with orange spikes, a black skull-like helmet on its head with a metal band and three horns, two on the side of its head and a larger one on its snout, and a bayoneted gun muzzle on the end of its tail.
"A Greymon?" Said Rika in surprise that a Champion-level Digimon would Bio-Emerge.
"But it looks different from a regular Greymon. And it says it's a Virus-type Digimon, not a Vaccine-type." Kushina said, frowning at the Digivice's information on Greymon, seeing how different it is.
"Then it's probably a different variation of Greymon. Either way it doesn't matter as it's just more data to absorb." Rika stated, knowing Naruto will get plenty of data from a Greymon.
While Naruto and Renamon were ready to attack, only to tense when Greymon growled and seemed to look at them hungrily.
"Data…Mega Flame!" Greymon roared, unleashing white-hot flames at the vixen and Hybrid, forcing them to jump out of the way of the fire while looking in surprise as it reduced anything it touched to cinders.
"Diamond Storm!" Said Renamon, releasing a barrage of razor sharp leaves at Greymon only for Greymon to charge right through the leaves.
"Horn Strike!" Said Greymon, charging at Renamon with his horn ready to strike her.
"Hey ugly!" Naruto said, channeling Chakra through his swords and swung them at Greymon, unleashing waves of Chakra at the dinosaur-like Digimon.
Only for them to not have any effect on Greymon, beyond making him turn towards Naruto growling lowly before rushing the Uzumaki with surprising speed.
"Storm Horn!" Greymon shouted, aiming his horn at Naruto and unleashing a black tornado from its horn towards the whiskered blonde.
"Digi-Modify! Agumon's Frozen Wind!" Said Rika, slashing the card granting Naruto Agumon's attack.
"Time to go back to the ice age!" Said Naruto releasing a breath of frozen air, freezing the tornado before it could hit him.
Though the Hybrid cried out when Greymon smashed right through the frozen tornado, slamming his horn into Naruto's body. Gritting his teeth in pain as the horn cut into him, Naruto tried stabbing his swords into Greymon's head, only for them to not even scratch his helmet.
"Scream! Mega Flame!" Roared Greymon, opening his mouth and unleashing a blast of flames straight at Naruto.
"Digi-Modify! Alias activate!" Said Rika, swiping another card quickly, switching Naruto with a clone that was incinerated by the flames while Naruto reappeared beside Rika.
"That was close." Naruto stated, seeing his clothes still ended up being a little singed from the flames.
"Let's give him a taste of his own medicine, Renamon! Digi-Modify! BurningGreymon's Burning Grey Basher!" Said Kushina, swiping a card while Renamon was engulfed in fire.
"It's your turn to burn!" Renamon said, charging Greymon at high-speeds, smashing right into the Champion Digimon's side.
"Atomic Tail!" Greymon said, spinning around and slamming his tail into Renamon, making the vixen grit her teeth in pain at the impact before she was sent flying back and crashing into a tree.
"Renamon!" Kushina said in worry for her partner.
"Worry more about yourselves humans! Mega Flame!" Roared Greymon, unleashing a blast of fire towards Naruto, Rika and Kushina.
"Digi-Modify! Aero Wings!" Said Rika, swiping another card, creating red wings to sprout from Naruto's back.
Grabbing Rika and Kushina, Naruto quickly flew out of the way of the flames with Greymon directing the flames towards them, intent to incinerate them.
"Renamon! Digi-Modify! Big Bang Hammer!" Kushina said, swiping a card and causing a large hammer to appear in front of Renamon.
Grabbing the hammer, Renamon rushed towards Greymon and jumped into the air, giving a shout as she slammed the hammer down on top of his head. Managing to send Greymon crashing to the ground and stopping the fire, allowing Naruto to land and set both redheads down.
"Digi-Modify! MegaSeadramon's Thunder Blade!" Said Rika, swiping her next card with Naruto's Chakra Blades being surrounded by lightning.
Charging towards Greymon, Naruto jumped onto him, only for Greymon's eyes to suddenly snap open as he shot back up to his feet.
"Mega Flame!" Greymon shouted firing a large fireball that smashed right into Naruto, making the Hybrid cry out as he was thrown back, crashing into a tree.
"Power Paw!" Said Renamon, jumping up with her paw covered in ghostly flames and thrust it towards Greymon's head.
"Storm Horn!" Said Greymon, releasing a black tornado at Renamon with the vixen unable to dodge as the tornado crashed into her, sending the Animal Digimon skidding across the ground.
"Naruto! Renamon!" Kushina yelled in concern for her son and partner, with Rika also looking worried for her partner.
"You humans are getting on my nerves! Burn! Mega Blast!" Greymon roared shooting a stream of fire at both redheads, forcing them to quickly run to avoid being burned alive.
"Fire Wall!" Shouted Greymon releasing more flames towards the ground that rushed towards Rika and Kushina, stopping them in their tracks as a wall of fire shot up in front of them.
Turning around to go the other way, both girls stumbled back as another wall of fire shot up, leaving them trapped between the fire while Greymon approached them. With Kushina moving in front of Rika, not sure if she could actually fight Greymon in her current state, but wouldn't do nothing.
"No more running. Atomic Tail!" Greymon said, spinning around to strike them with his tail, making the girls tense at the coming pain.
But before the Champion Digimon could strike them, Naruto and Renamon recovered from the attacks and rushed towards him. With the whiskered blonde creating a Rasengan, while Renamon jumped up with her paw covered in ghostly flames.
"Power Paw!" Said Renamon, descending towards Greymon and smashing her paw into his head.
"Rasengan!" Naruto shouted, slamming the Rasengan into Greymon's leg, knocking him off balance.
With Greymon roaring at the attacks, collapsing to the ground from Naruto striking his leg. Once he was on the ground, Naruto and Renamon quickly rushed to their Tamers and grabbed them, getting them away from the fire.
"Are you both alright?" Naruto asked, looking at the redheads.
"We're fine, thanks to the both of you." Replied Kushina, relieved they recovered when they did.
"Y-yeah, thanks." Rika said, feeling a little shaken at the near death experience.
"Good, just stay back while we-" Said Renamon.
"Storm Horn!" Greymon roared, unleashing a black tornado that slammed into Naruto and Renamon, sending them crashing into the trees.
"I've had enough of you all! I'll burn you until there's nothing left! Fire Wall!" Yelled Greymon, releasing a wall of fire towards Rika and Kushina, forcing them to jump away only to be separated by the wall of flames between them.
"Atomic Tail!" Greymon shouted, rushing towards Rika before spinning around and swinging his tail at her, much to her fear.
But before Greymon's tail could hit her, Naruto quickly rushed forward and pushed Rika out of the way, crying out as Greymon's tail smash into him, with the bayonet also cutting into his body. Sending the whiskered blonde crashing into a tree before falling to the ground.
"Naruto!" Kushina said in horror and worry for him, while Rika looked at him in shock that he took the hit for her.
"You're next human. Horn Strike!" Said Greymon, charging towards Kushina next.
"Diamond Storm!" Renamon said, unleashing a barrage of razor sharp leaves at Greymon, only for the attack do nothing but make the Champion Digimon stop and glare at her.
"You…will not touch her!" Said Renamon, glaring at Greymon before the vixen began glowing brightly, much to Kushina's and Rika's shock.
"She's…Digivolving?!" Said Rika, not expecting Renamon to suddenly Digivolve.
"Renamon Digivolve to…" Renamon said as her body began transforming and changing, before the light vanished revealing her new form.
With Renamon now resembling a nine-tailed fox, with her tail having split into nine separate ones, a white mane around her neck along with a long red and white bow with golden metal ends, a Yin-Yang symbol on her forehead and on her thighs, and mystical blue fire surroundings her feet and tails tips.
"Kyubimon!" Growled Kyubimon while glaring at Greymon, ready to delete him for good.
"More data! You will make me even stronger!" Greymon roared, charging towards Kyubimon, eager to absorb her data.
"You won't touch any of my friends, again!" Kushina shouted while glaring at Greymon, enraged at what he did to Naruto and that he thought he would hurt Kyubimon too.
Before suddenly golden chains shot out of her back and rushed towards Greymon, ensnaring the Virus Digimon before he could reach Kyubimon. With Kushina being surprised at seeing her Adamantine Sealing Chains now fully awakened, but were pleased as now they could finish this.
"What are these?! Why can't I move?!" Snarled Greymon as he tried breaking free of the chains, but couldn't move.
"Kyubimon, let's put this fossil on ice for good. Digi-Modify! MetalGarurumon's Cocytus Breath!" Kushina said, slashing a card.
"Time to freeze!" Kyubimon said before unleashing a blast of sub-zero air straight at Greymon, incasing the Digimon completely in ice.
"Now to finish it! Digi-Modify! Speed activate! Power activate!" Said Kushina while swiping two cards, giving Kyubimon a boost in speed and power, with the Mythical Animal Digimon growling lowly as she felt her power grow.
"Dragon Wheel!" Roared Kyubimon as she charged at Greymon with the blue fire on her tails surrounding her and turning into a burning blue dragon.
The dragon roared loudly as it shot towards the frozen Greymon, blasting straight through the Champion Digimon, reducing it to pieces which dissolved into a cloud of data.
"Way to go, Kyubimon!" Kushina said, smiling at her partner as Kyubimon stopped beside Kushina, turning towards Greymon's data to load it.
Only to stop and frown when she looked at the data, seeing it was an odd purple color, along with just seeming…off. Kyubimon couldn't place it, only that something was telling her she shouldn't load the data.
"What's the matter?" Questioned Kushina, seeing she wasn't trying to load the data.
"I don't know. But something about that data…I just feel like I shouldn't try absorbing it." Kyubimon replied while watching as the data soon faded away, much to her relief at it being gone.
While Kushina frowned, wondering what was wrong with the data before her eyes widened and quickly rushed over to Naruto. Seeing Rika already kneeling on the ground beside him, looking at her partner in worry.
"Is he alright?!" Kushina asked, looking at Naruto in concern, seeing the injuries from Greymon's attacks.
"He's still alive, but he's unconscious. We need to get him back to my house so we can help him." Replied Rika, worried what would happen if they didn't get Naruto help in time.
"Here, put him on me and I'll get you there." Said Kyubimon, going over and crouching down, letting the girls place Naruto on her back.
Lifting the whiskered blonde off the ground, Rika and Kushina laid him across Kyubimon's back before climbing on top of her as well. With Kushina sitting in the front and Rika behind Naruto to make sure he didn't fall off.
"Alright, let's go Kyubimon!" Said Kushina, with Kyubimon taking off towards Rika's home.
*Unknown Location*
Meanwhile, unknown to Naruto, Rika, Kushina and Renamon, someone had been monitoring their fight in another location. With the person being shrouded by the shadows of their hideout while sitting on a throne, looking at a holographic screen as it showed the two Tamers and their Digimon. Before it switched to an image of Greymon, showing off his changed stats, abilities, and even his personality compared to a regular Greymon.
"This proved to be an even better test than I could've hoped for." The figure stated, with their voice showing they were a man, with a pleased smirk at the data he collected from the fight.
Before the screen showing Greymon switched to that of a Digimon Card, resembling the Blue Card Rika and Kushina both had. Only rather than blue, the card was a dark purple color along with some parts being black, while in the center of it was a dark orange lens.
"The data collected from Greymon will go a long way to perfecting the Dark Card. A few more tests and I'll soon have a working prototype ready to test out. And then we'll see what Digimon are truly capable of." Said the man with a wicked smirk, eager to soon see what his Dark Card can really do once it's perfected.
So, what did you think, good. Yep we see Naruto and Rika buying some more booster packs, getting even more cards for Rika's collection, along with Naruto learning more about Rika as well as teasing her a little. Before they return home where Rumiko has arrived, with things being tense between her and Rika, with Naruto asking his Tamer once they're alone and tries convincing her to try talking to her mom only for Rika to make him drop it, with it being hinted she resents Rumiko for more than just her absence. Though Naruto also tells her about what his childhood was like being alone, asking her if she wants her relationship with her mom to stay the same.
Then we see Kushina having more dreams and regaining her memories, realizing that Naruto is her son from her past-life and needs to see him again to confirm it. With it going to the next day as Naruto and Rika meet Kushina and Renamon, with Kushina teasing them before getting serious and asking if Naruto's from the Elemental Nations. Revealing she's his mother after he confirms it, leading to Naruto learning how his parents met and the events of the night he was born.
With Kushina also being angry at how little Hiruzen, Jiraiya and Kakashi did for Naruto, and understanding why Mikoto likely wasn't able to raise him. Before the two agree that while they can't have a normal mother-son relationship, they can still be friends.
We then see Naruto and Renamon having their match, proving to be about even with Renamon having better agility and experience, while Naruto has better strength and endurance. Before the battles interrupted when a Greymon Bio-Emerges near them, leading to the four working together to defeat him. Only for Greymon to prove far more cruel than normal and tries killing Kushina and Rika, with Naruto taking a hit for Rika.
Leading to Kushina fully awakening her Adamantine Sealing Chains while Renamon Digivolves into Kyubimon, letting them delete Greymon. Though Kyubimon doesn't absorb the data, feeling something off about it, before she carries Naruto, Rika and Kushina to Rika's home so they could get Naruto some help.
Finally we see a mysterious figure having watched the battle, pleased at Greymon's performance and the data collected that'll be used to improve something called the Dark Card, knowing they'll be able to have a working prototype soon after a few more tests. So, for those that like the story, thanks for your support. For those that don't or at least don't like the direction taken, you're more than welcomed to drop the story.
