Author's Notes: I know this is a VERY short update, but I need to give myself time to return to the story after almost a month's break from it. But as long you guys are happy with the story, I'm happy. The reason for why I took a month's break was because I needed to write my original books (which I'm thankfully is actually doing a good job on, although slow).

And for another reason is that I had a bit of writer's block today (given the short chapter). Hopefully the next one will be a bit longer than this "flash-fiction" length chapter. Ah well. What can you do about writer's block? (Answer: Another break, of course).

The next book will be "Riders of Berk" (Season 1 of DreamWorks Dragons).

And to answer someone's question about HTTYD 2 and HTTYD 3: Yes, I am planning to do them both, but the third movie will play out differently now that Toothless has met a Light Fury early in the story.

Chapter 20: The Truth

Bright blinked, looking at Flashwing, who had serious eyes staring back at him. "You…you're joking, right?" he finally asked.

Flashwing shook his head. "I am not. I think it's about time you learned the truth about why I took you from the Arctic Scar people—the ones you were born into."

Bright had to assure himself not to freak out. Deep inside him, he felt his heart shatter in small pieces. "But…I've always been a part of the Nest!"

"That may be, son, but you are actually from the far North of the Barbaric Archipelago," Flashwing said. "The people, who had given birth to you, have been searching for you since I took you from their home." He lowered his head when he admitted his words.

Bright gave a small gasp of shock. "So…I'm not really your son?"

Flashwing countered, "You have always been my son, and in Lightwing's eyes, as well. Don't forget about the time we spent together, Bright."

Bright had to compose himself and remain calm.

"I see you need time to figure this out, my son," Flashwing said, noticing his trance. "It's all right. I will be leaving you alone for a moment." He turned and walked into the house, while Bright was still figuring out his words' meaning.

So…I'm not their son? Bright thought to himself. I always thought I was born as a dragon. Why did this have to be now what Father told me? He breathed heavily, but he sighed at last and entered the house, not letting his family know of his thoughts about the explanation by Flashwing.
