Chapter Thirty-Two:

The Trial of SMG4 Begins...

Everyone got ready for the trial, taking their time to get everyone and everything together.

Mario caught up with Meggy, who surprised him when she explained that she hadn't been fatally affected by the DMCA's power like the others and had been alive the whole time thanks to her past as an Inkling with the Temporary I.P Contract having some leftover effects that managed to save her.

'That explains why she didn't appear with the others when Kirby approved the parody contract.' Mario thought, 'Mario is so lucky.'

Just about everyone in the Glitchy Gang was already gathered in the courtroom, all that was left was the Nintendo side. Mario's brother Luigi arrived soon, along with Bowser and Peach including Wario and Waluigi as well as Toad.

Bob and Boopkins could have joined the non-Nintendo group, but due to appearing as a Spike and a Garo respectively, they had no other choice but to take the Nintendo side. SMG4 stood next to Meggy, trembling with fear. He'd just come back from oblivion and was not about to get wiped out of existence again.

They had to succeed no matter what happened during the trial. Hopefully, Kirby was reasonable, even though Lawyer Kong did have a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Once everyone was settled, once Mario had taken the client's stand, it was time to start. Kirby banged the gavel, calling the court to order.

"The trial of SMG4 v. Nintendo is about to begin..." The pink puff declared, "To catch everyone up, Nintendo has signed this DMCA stating that all non-Nintendo I.P should be removed from the Mushroom Kingdom..." He gestured to the floating DMCA on his right, provided by Lawyer Kong.

"However..." Kirby gestured to the Parody Contract on his left, "The defense has provided this parody contract stating SMG4 and his friends are not infringing on Nintendo's copyright claims and that non-Nintendo IP has the right to stay in the Mushroom Kingdom. Now with everyone is all caught up..."

He banged the gavel, "Let the case begin!"

Meggy stepped forward. "I'd like to start off my case with Exhibit A..." She said, "Mario, this Mario is clearly different from the one that Nintendo talks about..."

"OBJECTION!"

Her blood boiled with anger as Lawyer Kong stepped in. "He's still Mario though." The monkey attorney said, "Look at his hat and mustache…"

"DON'T INTERRUPT ME, YOU BIG BANANA-EATING MONKEY!" Meggy yelled, "I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MAKING A STATEMENT!"

"No, you don't interrupt me when I'm laying out my case for Nintendo!"

"SHUT UP AND LET ME SPEAK!"

"Nintendo's funky monkey lawyer has the floor, so you let me speak!"

"Don't make me slap you!"

"Bring it on, you orange haired little girl!"

Meggy was enraged even more than she already was from Lawyer Kong's actions. "LITTLE GIRL? ALL RIGHT, THAT'S IT!" She screamed, "YOU'RE GOING DOWN, YOU BIG APE!"

The former Inkling lunged at Lawyer Kong and began beating him up with the monkey punching back, both lawyers were battling it out in the courtroom, throwing fists at one another as dust flew.

Kirby banged the gavel and called for order as the two continued fighting, Mario watched on with a wide cheeky smile on his face and remarked, "Court is fun."

SMG4 walked up to the judge's booth and whispered something in Kirby's ears, which made the pink puffball smirk with delight.

"Oooh, I like that..." He said in an ominous manner, then he brought out a megaphone and shouted, "I WILL HAVE ORDER!"

Meggy and Lawyer Kong stopped fighting and backed away from each other, all eyes looking up at Judge Kirby as he banged the gavel again.

"Ok, with that settled, we have a new plan for the court..." The pink puff declared, "We will settle this with a war! A war of Fat Italians! And before anyone protests, saying it has nothing to do with law, my decision is final! Now, without any delays, prepare for some challenges that will test every single one of you!"

"We want to be on your side, SMG4!" Boopkins cried, "We're your friends!"

"Yeah, you have to stay with us!" Luigi agreed, "We care very much about you!"

Lawyer Kong laughed and brought out a glowing piece of paper, showing it to the Nintendo group. "Where do you think you guys are going?" He asked with a sinister smirk, "You belong on the Nintendo side!"

To everyone's shock and surprise, a red glow surrounded Luigi, Bob, Boopkins, Bowser and almost everyone on the Nintendo side and their eyes flashed red as if they were under mind control. Mario watched in shock as he heard his brother and half of his friends begin to chant, "BAN SMG4!"

"And that goes for you too!" Lawyer Kong glared at Mario. The fat Italian found himself levitating in the air in seconds and was sent to the Nintendo side, his eyes glowing red as he too began to chant the "ban SMG4" mantra alongside the others.

On the Glitchy Gang side, everyone was in a state of shock and terror, seeing their friends acting like this.

"Oh no!" Tari whimpered, "Our friends…"

Swagmaster hugged Chris tightly, trembling very nervously. "Chris, help me, I'm scared…"

"Me too, Swag." Chris quipped.

SMG4 snapped his fingers and all eyes from his group's side turned to face him. "C'mon, guys!" He said, "This is the best chance we have at beating Nintendo in this trial, so let's give it our all!"

"We're with you all the way, SMG4!" SMG2 said excitedly.

"We beat Zero, we're not about to let some monkey get the best of us!" SMG1 chimed in, "It's time to show that creep the real superpower of team work."

"Yeah!" Shroomy whooped.

"We got this one!" Melony cried.

"LET'S DO IT!" Saiko brought out her hammer, "ASS-KICKING TIME!"

"We'll kick their ass!" Kaizo agreed.

Kirby banged the gavel again and declared, "Alright! Without further ado... LET'S BEGIN THIS WAR OF FAT ITALIANS! Everyone? Good luck..."

The pink puffball whipped out the Star Rod and swished it, a magical aura flashed around the room and both groups teleported away to various locations, ready to face the challenges ahead of them with the Glitchy Gang filled with confidence that they would pull through...
