Soooooo it's been over a year...
I have no excuse.
Lately I've been severely unmotivated to write—it's so much easier to read than it is to write because to write you have to actually THINK and put it into words. To read you just have to look at words and move on.
But anyway, that's why I haven't updated. I'm sorry.
I actually managed to muster up enough energy to think, write, and update this time, so enjoy! (Plus it's a double update!)
Ryouma scowls as he stares down at the paper in front of him. The numbers and words looked like nonsense scribbles and blurs to him, causing him to glare.
"Hey, hey, Terasaka, you seem to be having trouble there," a vice drawls.
Ryouma turns to his left to flip Karma off. A dramatic gasp leaves the redhead's throat.
"Why, Terasaka, that's cruel!" Karma pretends to wipe his eyes. "It makes me so fucking sad, really."
"Shut the fuck up, bastard," Ryouma snarls.
Karma stares at him.
"Do you need help?" He asks.
"No!" Ryouma turns back to his paper, answering a bit too quickly.
There's blissful silence, before wind whips past him.
He rolls his eyes.
"Whaddya want, octopus?" He asks.
"Why, Terasaka, I noticed you having trouble there," that annoyingly pitched voice says.
"I'm not," Ryouma grumbles.
"Uh huh," Karma mutters sarcastically, grinning innocently when Ryouma whips his head around to glare at him.
Despite his protests, Korosensei helps Ryouma with his worksheet anyway.
Ryouma grumbles as we walks with Yoshida, Hazama, and Muramatsu.
"Ryouma!" he hears, which is strange, because no one but his parents call him that, but the voice doesn't sound like his parents.
He turns to see-
Koyama?
What the fuck?
"What," he snarls.
"How are you?" Koyama asks. "Are you having trouble with your homework?"
"What's it to you" Ryouma glares with hostility. Unlike before, Koyama doesn't cower away. Instead, he perks up.
"I can help you!" He offers brightly.
"Get lost," Ryouma grumbles, not in the mood. He turns away, but halts at Koyama's shout.
"Wait!" He exclaims. "I mean it!"
Ryouma turns back, narrowing his eyes at the boy with weird eyebrows.
He's acting weird. Ryouma knows it. His whole class knows it. The entire main campus is behaving strangely.
Ryouma may be quite a bit stupid, but he's smarter than he looks, more competent than he seems.
Even if he can't really read words or numbers, he knows how to read in between the lines.
But this, he can't make sense of.
What is Koyama thinking?
What's his goal, his game plan?
Ryouma has no idea, but he will find out.
Ryouma sits in class the next day as Karma leans back in his chair. Having Karma as a seatmate, even if by one desk space apart, is quite irritating, Ryouma thinks. Karma likes to tease him a lot.
"Teeeeerrrrraaaaaaasaaaaaaaaaakaaaaaaa," Karma drawls in a sing-song tone, causing Ryouma to pop a vein in annoyance.
"You know, there's a way to help you read," a voice says. An annoyingly familiar voice.
Ryouma rolls his eyes.
"How?" He asks.
"Have you ever heard of dyslexia?"
Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I'm back!
I was so busy and lazy that I hadn't updated in a while!
In this fic I made Terasaka dyslexic because I thought it would be a good fit and plot for his character! He's stupid and prideful, but thanks to Korosensei's teaching, he managed to get in the 40's ranks for the final exams! What if part of his stupidity was due to dyslexia? He'd have a hard time learning, and because of his pride, he'd keep it to himself and find it difficult to accept help. But as we all know, being in Class 3-E has softened his heart a bit! (So of course he'll accept their help- not entirely though! He's too prideful for that.)
I ended it there because I can't guarantee sound advice for people with dyslexia, and also because I didn't know what else to write.
Hope you enjoyed!
