When the end of the moon arrives, You prepare to discuss what has been found over the course of the recent investigation with the rest of the Ashen Wolves. Seraphine manifests and speaks to You along the way.
Seraphine: I have to wonder if anyone else found more than we did over these last few weeks… It feels like we hit just about every roadblock we possibly could and didn't find anything that could point us in the right direction.
You nod and say that You are still uncertain about what You will be doing next.
Seraphine: Maybe one of them was able to learn more about Tagusol in the last few weeks. I know no one was having good luck near the beginning of the month, but it never hurts to be a little bit optimistic.
You agree and say that You are hoping for at least one piece of information coming to light.
Seraphine: We won't know until we go to speak with them ourselves, I suppose. Come on.
You leave your room and start to walk up toward the cardinals' room. However, along the way, You hear a voice call out from behind You.
Tsubasa: Professor! There you are!
You turn to see Tsubasa dashing closer, and she looks flustered and worried. You ask her what is going on and why she is so agitated.
Tsubasa: You need to come down to Abyss right now. We need your help.
You ask what has happened.
Tsubasa: Abyss is under attack.
Your eyes go wide, and You begin to follow her down to Abyss.
Tsubasa: Some of the other Ashen Wolves are getting the rest of the monastery's occupants to come and help us out. It seems a few of our enemies managed to slip through the defenses we put up since the last time this happened. We need to fight them off to make sure they don't do anything that could hurt us.
You nod your understanding and dash down the stairs to Abyss. There, You follow Tsubasa away from the main part of the city, noticing along the way that the main streets are almost completely empty. You can only assume that the people of Abyss scattered and went into hiding when the battle began, leaving those who can fight to try and handle the aftermath.
Soon enough, You arrive outside the city in a set of tunnels that You remember from your adventures in Abyss five years prior. You see the Ashen Wolves set up in defensive positions throughout the area trying to fend off the invaders. It quickly becomes apparent though that they will not be able to win this fight on their own, and You draw your weapon.
Seraphine: Gods above… We should have known this was all going to be too good to be true. It was just a matter of time before we ended up under attack. Being here at the monastery was our only option, but it was also a massive risk.
You say that You will not let the enemy forces break through to harm the people of Abyss or Garreg Mach.
Seraphine: Of course. I would expect nothing less. Just do what you can to remain safe and prepared, okay? I don't want anything bad to happen to you or the rest of the students.
You nod and begin to fight through the enemies alongside the Ashen Wolves.
Eli: Professor! You're here!
Magnus: I'm glad to see it. We can't afford to let any of them break through.
Ernst: What Magnus means to say is that we need all the help we can get.
Taiyin: I don't even know how they were able to get this far in to attack us!
Grey: They knew enough from what happened five years ago, I can only assume.
Ansel: If we wish to keep Abyss safe, we will need to rout the enemy as soon as possible.
Saias: I'm more than happy to do that if it'll keep our home safe. I have a bad feeling about this.
Cyrus: There must be someone responsible for all of this… I just don't know who.
You nod your agreement and ask if Druilla has any ideas.
Druilla: The intruders are soldiers of Malice. Perhaps our enemy commander is Agarthan.
Tsubasa: Considering all the problems we've been causing lately, that wouldn't surprise me.
Gabriel: They're going to figure out pretty quickly that we're not backing down though.
Quinn: So be it. That's something they can learn through this battle.
Eli: Be careful, everyone. This is all about defense first and foremost. Once we've managed to hold them off for a while and drain their energy, we can try to clear them out. We need to keep Abyss safe above all else.
Quinn: We cannot let them break through our ranks no matter what.
Eli: Precisely. Do not push yourselves beyond your limits. This will not be an easy fight, but we can handle it. We fight at once, Ashen Wolves!
You fall into your position for the fight and glance around the area, finding many soldiers scattered throughout the tunnels. They are coming in massive numbers, and You can sense already that this will be a match of endurance first and foremost. Afterward, You can concentrate on cleaning up who is left behind just as Ansel suggested before. First though, You will need to focus your attention on defense, so You and the rest of your allies come together in a defensive formation to fend off the enemies. If any enemies manage to break through the defensive line and reach the defense point behind the allied forces, the map will be an automatic failure. The objective is to maintain the defense while also routing every enemy, something far easier said than done, but You vow to do all that You can regardless.
You fight with the rest of the Ashen Wolves fiercely for quite some time, and You can feel the battle beginning to wear on You as the minutes pass by. The enemy forces show no signs of stopping, and You have no idea what to do about it.
At the start of turn four, the following dialogue plays out.
Taiyin: How in the world are they still coming?! It's like they just never stop!
Saias: If they're not going to stop, then we won't either! For the sake of Abyss, we have to keep going!
You nod your agreement and continue to fight. You give the battle everything You have for another few turns before the commander of the enemy forces finally shows himself by stepping out of the tunnels and into the relatively open area where much of the fighting is taking place. You watch him carefully, finding that he is an Agarthan just as You suspected before.
At the start of turn eight, the following dialogue plays out.
Ansel: You… The commander of this army. Who are you?
?: Interested in learning more about me, are you?
Cyrus: Hold on a moment… I recognize that face… Druilla, do you remember–
Druilla: I do… This is bad. We need to try and end this battle as soon as possible.
Tsubasa: I don't understand. Just what's so bad about him in particular?
Cyrus: That man is named Belenio. He's an Agarthan commander working with Tagusol… Or at least I think he is.
Druilla: I'm sure of it. He's also known for being a dangerous assassin. Rumor has it every battle he's ever commanded has ended in a victory for him.
Belenio: It's been a long time since I last took to the battlefield though… The last time that happened was before I last saw the two of you. So much has changed since then… For example, you turned your back on your people in that time.
Cyrus: We made the best decision we could have given the circumstances. What did you want us to do?
Belenio: Not betray those who took care of you throughout your entire life for one… Though I suppose that's a little bit too much to ask when it comes to people like you. You're traitors through and through.
Eli: You… Belenio, was it? Just what are you doing here? What are you trying to accomplish?
Belenio: I want to lay all of you low… Just as I should have years ago. You were never meant to survive this long, but while you stand here, I have a chance at redemption. You may have gotten lucky in the past, but that will never happen again.
Ernst: I don't know what you're talking about, but you'll never have the chance to explain yourself. We'll be sure to kill you before then.
Belenio: Then I suppose you don't want to learn more about my relationship with all of you?
Grey: What in the world are you–
Belenio: It matters little if you want me dead or not. You won't succeed no matter what you try. Still, you can at least make this fight interesting for the sake of us all. It's been a long time since I've had a nice time this way!
If You initiate combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Belenio: You must be the one I've heard so much about from Evenor… It's amazing just how much I can see her fighting style in you. The details are small, but I know what to look for… And you've learned a lot from her. I'm impressed. All that remains now is to see if your learned skills from her will be enough to see you through to the end of this war!
If Eli initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Eli: I don't know who you are or what it is you want, but I won't let you get past us. Abyss will stay safe no matter what.
Belenio: I'm surprised you don't recognize me, young Eli… I would have thought my face would be etched into your mind forever.
Eli: What are you talking about?
Belenio: Years ago, I traveled beyond the borders of Fódlan to a new place I had never seen before… Have you ever heard of a little nation called Sreng?
Eli: You were… What?!
Belenio: My job was to hunt down those who may be able to help my people uncover the Chalice of Beginnings… Those who had the Crests and blood we would need to complete its matching ritual.
Eli: What are you saying?!
Belenio: You have one of the four Crests necessary to complete the ritual. In order to ensure you would come here so we could carry out the rite, I had to kill those who might get in our way… Can you see where this is going?
Eli: You… You were the one who led the attack on my people in Sreng… You killed all of them so you could get to me.
Belenio: Where else could you go but Fódlan? It was just a matter of time before you came here. I wanted to make sure you were in our reach for when we were ready to carry out that rite. And you were very easy to reach, I must say… Have you ever wondered why you survived but no one else did? That was intentional. We were waiting for you to arrive here so that we could use you to our advantage.
Eli: No… You… You're a monster!
Belenio: I'm glad you're finally catching up with reality.
Eli: No matter how strong you claim to be, I won't let you get away with this. I will lay you low and avenge those who you have hurt! It's a promise I won't back down from no matter what!
If Ernst initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Belenio: Ah, Ernst… You're one of the people I've been most pleasantly surprised by in my life.
Ernst: What in the world are you talking about?
Belenio: In the cases of many of your other allies, I had to make sure they would find their way here to Fódlan so they could play into our hands. You, however, were very easy. You just wound up here on your own. In many ways, it was comically simple.
Ernst: Explain yourself at once!
Belenio: I was one of those tasked with ensuring you and the rest of your allies wound up here in Fódlan so we could perform the Rite of Rising. The others were difficult to work with, but you ended up here without me needing to track you down and force you here at all. You were the only person who worked with me without any encouragement being necessary.
Ernst: …All of this was planned years ago then. That's what you're trying to tell me.
Belenio: Of course it was. We needed to ensure you and the rest of your friends played into our hands so we could use you for the ritual. Everything you've found in Abyss or at the monastery was part of our plan. We wanted you there, and once you arrived, you were in position for us to use you one day.
Ernst: …No. Even if you planned everything that happened, you couldn't have decided every little thing we did. Whether you want to claim otherwise or not is your decision, but we're here of our own free will.
Belenio: Face it however you want. I know the facts of the matter though. You will understand them soon enough.
Ernst: I will not… Because I intend to defeat you before I have the chance to encourage your thoughts ever again!
If Grey initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Grey: I've really gotten sick of people trying to attack Abyss for the sake of making our lives miserable. I would have thought you had learned your lesson years ago, but I suppose I was wrong to assume you would make a wise decision at any point.
Belenio: You've resorted to insults rather quickly. Do you have nothing else to say?
Grey: I don't know what it is you're trying to accomplish here, but I'm not going to let you get away with it. You've caused more than enough harm, but I'll make sure it all stops here and now before it can spiral out of control more than it already has.
Belenio: If you say so… You can try it, but I wouldn't push it so hard. You don't know what you're getting into by trying to fight me, after all.
Grey: Oh? And just what am I getting into? Enlighten me if it's really so important.
Belenio: Not only have I never lost a fight, but I was also the person who guided you to the monastery in the first place.
Grey: You… What?!
Belenio: You were on the streets with nothing. You needed a place to stay… And I gave you the push you needed to travel to the monastery and end up with the rest of your friends. I was there to guide all of those required for the Rite of Rising into a single location. With you, it was rather simple… All you needed was one haphazard suggestion, and you followed it.
If Magnus initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Magnus: You… Something about you strikes me as strange…
Belenio: I believe you recognize me. That's what bothers you about seeing me.
Magnus: How in the world would I recognize you? Answer me that.
Belenio: I was the mastermind behind something that changed the course of your life many years ago. You lived with a family that cared little for you before you came here. Is that correct?
Magnus: Yes. As I would later go on to discover, they were looking after me because of a sense of duty they had little faith in to begin with. But what does that matter to you?
Belenio: You came from a family of promising, powerful mages. It was the power of the Crest that flowed through their veins that made them strong. Still, being passive carriers of the Crest did not make them strong enough to be noteworthy to us… So we did what we had to and disposed of them.
Magnus: …You're the reason for all of this then. When I heard you were an assassin, I questioned what that meant, but now, I see it in stunning clarity… You were the one who killed my blood family. You were the reason I suffered for so long under the watchful eye of those who cared little for me in the first place.
Belenio: How does it make you feel? Do you want to kill me? Do you seek my blood? Do you want to destroy me here and now?
Magnus: I do… But I will not let my rage consume me. I've made that mistake too many times. I've grown considerably over the course of the last few years.
Belenio: Are you planning on going easy on me then? I'm insulted to think you think so little of the one who led the attack that wiped out your entire family.
Magnus: I never said I would go easy on you. Instead, I mean to destroy you completely… Just with the restraint of someone who will not resort to torture until the moment the battle is over.
Belenio: I doubt you'll ever get the chance to come close. After all, you already heard about what I've done.
Magnus: Then I'll just have to make sure to give this battle my all… And you'll see just how dangerous that is the instant it's too late for you to escape or save yourself.
If Quinn initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Quinn: An assassin… What is it you're trying to accomplish here? Do you simply mean to cause issues for us? If so, you can pack your bags and leave now. You've more than succeeded.
Belenio: My job is not so cavalier. I'm a commander, and I like to bring pain to those who fight against me. Why do you think I've managed to rise so high through the ranks of my army?
Quinn: You made it so far, and yet, this is the first most of us are hearing of you.
Belenio: I prefer to strike in the shadows. Your friends know what I'm referring to, and if you want to hear the truth from them, then I would suggest you ask now. To fight against me is to walk to your own death, after all.
Quinn: In that case, allow me to be the first to walk away on my own two feet rather than coming to my own destruction. You will fall here today, and I will make sure of it with my own two hands.
Belenio: Give it your all then. You had better kill me in one shot… Otherwise, you won't want to know what will happen next.
If Hegias initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Belenio: Ah, there you are… Evenor's favorite. Well, second favorite, I suppose.
Hegias: Have you come just to rub it in my face then? To remind me of all that I don't have anymore?
Belenio: You were the one who took all of this away from yourself. You have no right to feel ashamed or upset of how it ended. You decided to turn your back on Evenor, and in doing so, you have abandoned your people. I have to ask… Are you proud of yourself? Is this what you wanted?
Hegias: I wanted to find peace. If that meant fighting against you, then so be it.
Belenio: Unfortunate… She always thought you were so promising, you know. She thought you could have taken her place as her new protege. After she lost the first one, she wanted nothing but the best for you.
Hegias: In case you haven't already noticed, I exist as a person outside of Evenor's actions. Here, I stand on my own two feet, not because of something she wanted me to do. Do I make myself clear?
Belenio: Unfortunately, yes… I wish you would have chosen the right side. Now, I'll just have to take your head back to her and explain what happened to her precious student. I look forward to seeing you as a corpse… After all, that is the only punishment we grant to traitors.
Hegias: Hmph… You can try your best, but I will not be so easily pushed aside. You can see for yourself here and now. I am more than what Evenor has told you I am, and I will ensure you see it today when I run you through with my blade!
If Cyrus initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Cyrus: I should have known you were going to show yourself again one of these days… You never could just stay on your own for long.
Belenio: What can I say? I enjoy the chaos of battle just a bit too much… Almost as much as I enjoy punishing traitors for turning their backs on our purpose.
Cyrus: What is it you're trying to accomplish with this? Do you just want to see us suffer? Is that it?
Belenio: I do. You know what we're meant to do. Our job is to destroy the world of the surface and take back what should have been ours from the start. You've gone against that.
Cyrus: I won't claim that them taking the world away was right… But I will say that trying to slaughter everyone in your path isn't right either.
Belenio: You're no fun… But it doesn't matter. I know where my loyalties lie, and I can see where yours do as well. You'll see just how grave an error you're making with time, but until then, I advise you to pray. Perhaps one of our old gods will accept your pleas if you begin begging now.
Cyrus: Or perhaps I won't need it at all.
Belenio: I doubt that.
If Druilla initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Druilla: You just don't know when to back down, do you? No matter what, you always have to keep pushing.
Belenio: It's part of my job. You should know that. It would have been your job too if you hadn't decided to stab everyone in the back.
Druilla: I decided I didn't want to be a part of that. Taking revenge on people you don't know feels like it's going a bit too far.
Belenio: We vowed we would take our home back no matter what, and if that meant fighting against the successors of the world that tore us down, then so be it.
Druilla: None of these people are the ones who hurt us so long ago. Times have changed. You should know that.
Belenio: I know that they're not the same, but this is the best we're going to get. We still haven't been given the continent back, and I'm going to make sure that changes. I'm going to fight to the bitter end… And you should have done that too.
Druilla: I'm not going to let you guilt me into this. I've had enough of it. We're finished here.
Belenio: I knew going into this that there was nothing I could do to change your mind… But I still find a way to end up disappointed. It's a shame… So be it. If you won't back down, then I'll tear you apart myself. You know my record. I'm looking forward to seeing how you fare against me!
Druilla: I'll bring you your first failure. You shouldn't have come here, and I'm going to make sure you understand that bitterly well in the minutes before you die!
If anyone else initiates combat with Belenio, the following dialogue plays out.
Belenio: I was hoping this would be an easy battle… Though I will say that you putting up a fight has certainly made it much more interesting. Keep entertaining me, will you? I rather enjoy this little back and forth… Though it won't be enough to save you.
When Belenio is defeated, the following dialogue plays out.
Belenio: What in the…? How is this happening…?! They shouldn't have been able to… Ugh…!
After the battle, You stand with the rest of the Ashen Wolves and look down at Belenio where he is crouched on the ground and openly seething with bottomless rage.
Belenio: Damn it all… I'm not going to let you get away with this! I've had enough of this!
Magnus: So much for you being unbeatable. You're going to have to change your title and reputation now. Oh, what a shame…
Belenio: This won't be the end. We will meet again.
Grey: It looks like it's going to end here and now. Make your peace with whatever gods you worship. I've had enough of looking at you.
Grey raises his sword to bring it down on Belenio's head. Before he can slam the sword down though, a small flare of purple magic sprouts up from the ground, forcing Grey to stagger backwards and drop his blade in the process. Fog fills the area as You hear Belenio's voice.
Belenio: Until next time.
Another flare of purple magic fills the area, and when it fades, Belenio is gone.
Ernst: He must have used some kind of teleportation spell to get away… Damn it! I was so sure we had him. After all that, he still managed to escape.
Saias: Ugh… At least we were able to keep him and the rest of his soldiers from getting into Abyss. That's a small victory, but I'm going to take it.
Taiyin: I wish we didn't have to consider something like that the best part of this battle… But it's not like we have much of a choice at this point.
Quinn: He revealed a lot of valuable information to us over the course of that fight though… I'm sure you heard it as well.
Eli: He implied that he was responsible for the many attacks that brought some of us to Abyss… He was trying to gather our Crests for the Rite of Rising.
Tsubasa: In other words, all of this was part of the enemy's plan long before any of us knew about it… We were playing right into their hands.
Gabriel: Five years ago, Agarthan soldiers stormed into Abyss trying to carry out the Rite of Rising. Now, we're learning that this was planned ages ago.
Ansel: They tried to bait the four people with the proper Crests for the ritual to come here and get close to the Chalice so they could take everything in one fell swoop.
Grey: I never would have imagined it went that deep… I knew there were a few incidents in the past, but…
Magnus: Eli's people were attacked by Belenio to ensure he would have nowhere to go but here. Belenio was also responsible for the murder of my birth family.
Ernst: I just so happened to end up at the monastery, and Grey was actively pointed there so we would all be in the same place.
Quinn: We had an inkling of this five years ago when we first uncovered the Rite of Rising, but this… We just fought against the commander responsible for it all.
Taiyin: Just thinking about him makes me feel sick to my stomach… And after all that we did to try and beat him, he still managed to escape.
Ansel: We cannot let him get away with this forever. We can find him with time, and we should pursue this as soon as possible.
Saias: I never would have thought this would be how the battle ended though… It feels like we have even more questions now than ever before.
Gabriel: As long as he's still at large, we need to do everything in our power to find him. We can't let him get away.
Tsubasa: I'll turn my attention to finding him as soon as possible. We can't let him escape, and I'll do what I can to track him.
Eli: Not right now… We're all exhausted. That battle took a long time, and I know it wore on us all. We need to take some time to breathe.
Cyrus: I never would have thought he would come here… I had been hoping I would never run into him again.
Eli: How well did you know him?
Druilla: Not well. He tended to stay with the other leaders of the Agarthan effort to take back the continent. He was focused on that above all else.
Eli: Taking back the continent… He mentioned that before he fled as well. I can only imagine that was just a small piece of his greater ambitions.
Cyrus: According to the ancient stories of our people, the Agarthans used to be the ones who lived here on Fódlan. The goddess arrived with her children at one point and wound up taking control from there. The struggle for control started a massive war that the goddess and her children eventually won.
Druilla: And the goal ever since then has been to reclaim the continent as a whole. It hasn't been pretty, but it's all anyone from Shambhala has ever wanted… Or, at least, that was the case until Evenor started experimenting on people to make them into child soldiers.
Eli: And now, here we stand…
Quinn: They were willing to do anything if it meant accomplishing their goal, including attacking innocent people and pulling their lives apart. It happened with you and Magnus, and it would have happened with Ernst and Grey had they not fallen into the enemy's hands easily enough without the interference.
Eli: I never would have thought it would run this deep… The rot always seems to find new places to seep into our lives.
Grey: What are we going to do about it now? We need to come up with a path forward if we want to stop all of this before it gets any worse.
Eli: For now, we need to pull back and focus on recovering from this battle. The people of Abyss remain frightened, and we need to do all that we can to defend them. I understand their fears, and I want to do all I can to ease them.
Ernst: You want to wait on coming up with a plan then… I don't think we'd be able to think of anything significant right now anyway.
Eli: I agree… And to those of you with Crests that have been targeted by our enemies in the past, I want you to stay safe. Don't do anything that could be considered risky. I mean that with everything I have. Stay as far from danger as possible.
Grey: Okay.
You watch as most of the Ashen Wolves walk away. You are then left with Eli, Quinn, Cyrus, and Druilla.
Cyrus: I would have hoped to never have to see Belenio again… But I see now how wishful that train of thought was.
Druilla: We've proven that he can be beaten, at the very least. Given his previous streak of never failing in a battle, I would go so far as to say that this is a victory for us.
Quinn: We need to find him as soon as possible to make sure he cannot harm anyone else… Though I'm afraid we don't know where to look.
Eli: No matter what it takes, we're going to find him, Evenor, and everyone else who has been responsible for the harm of others. I've had enough of just standing back and seeing all the damage they can do without being able to intervene at all. That's going to end today. I'm sure of it.
Druilla: It won't be easy, you know.
Eli: I understand. Still, I know what must be done, and I will not back down from it.
Quinn: We'll stand by you every step of the way. I promise.
Eli: Thank you, Quinn… It means a lot to hear you say that.
Cyrus: What do you want us to do now?
Eli: Help the others in aiding Abyss. A lot has happened here today, and we need to help those who need it most.
Quinn: Understood. We'll do all in our power to ensure everyone is safe and alright.
Eli: Thank you. I'm glad to hear it.
You watch as Quinn leads Cyrus and Druilla away. You are left with Eli, and You turn to him with a small frown on your face. You ask how he is feeling about all of this.
Eli: I… I don't know how to feel, honestly. I want to be filled with rage at Belenio for everything he did to bring me here. I knew there was foul play involved with the murder of my people, but this… I never would have imagined it would run so deep as to have a trained assassin targeting me specifically and killing others for the sake of reaching me.
You tell him that You will be there for him no matter what.
Eli: Thank you, Professor… I want to be there for others as well. I always believed there was no way a person could be born evil. I see now just how true that is… There are many people who transform themselves into monsters with time and effort, and there are many people who fall prey to the monsters that latch onto those beneath them and destroy them in the process. The Agarthans as a whole are not evil, and I will not refer to them as such.
Eli clenches his hand into a fist.
Eli: There are those who have made their decisions to fight us, and for the sake of peace, I will defeat them. There are also those who never wanted this, and I'll do what I can to help them. Destroying our enemies will not solve this war alone. Mercy and peace are just as necessary to create a thriving sense of peace, and I won't stand down in the face of the turmoil to come. I swear this to you and everyone else.
You nod your understanding and say that You are happy to stand at his side no matter what.
Eli: Thank you, Professor… May this be a turning point in the war for all of us. I want nothing more than peace for us all, and I'll do anything I can to achieve it. Longtime friend or forced foe, we all deserve the chance to rest once this is over, and I'll grant them the mercy they deserve… Whether it is in measures grand or small. I swear this to you.
Eli undergoes a class change from Ashen Knight to Ashen Lord.
Eli: And I would be more than happy to have you at my side through it all.
You kneel before Eli, and your class changes from Enlightened One to Godly Instrument. Power surges through your body in ways You never thought possible, and when You rise to your feet, You can feel that much has changed inside of You.
Eli: Abyss is waiting for us, Professor… I shall see you again once it has recovered.
Eli walks away, and You watch him go. You close your eyes once You are alone, and light fills your vision. Seraphine manifests before You once again, and when You open your eyes, all You can do is stare in shock.
Seraphine: I… I can't believe it! I'm back! I'm really back!
You reach out and embrace Seraphine, pulling her in close to your chest.
Seraphine: After all this time, it feels like things are the way they were meant to be from the start… I know this is where we belong. I'm here with you once more, and we have many incredible people to lean on should we ever need support. This is where we were meant to be. I know it.
You nod your agreement and say that You will treasure this always.
Seraphine: As will I.
You pull away from Seraphine and look around the area.
Seraphine: I cannot say I understand where our future is set to go from here… But no matter what, I'll do all I can to remain at your side. The Ashen Wolves are our family now, and they are our home just the same. We must stay with them no matter what happens.
You nod once more and take Seraphine's hand in your own.
Seraphine: We are united at last… And I would have it no other way.
You spend much of the rest of the day helping to ease the people of Abyss' fears in the aftermath of the battle. The work is difficult but rewarding, and You are confident Seraphine is right when she says this is where You are meant to be. When all has been said and done, You settle in for the night, feeling more alive than You have in ages thanks to the whisper of Seraphine's power in the back of your mind.
