For the first time in a long while, I made it to school with plenty of time to spear. I wanted to chat with my friend Serena and see if she's okay. Ever since they arrived at the vet, she seemed down about something. Yet I looked everywhere for her to not find her. I sighed as I stood outside with a feeling of defeat. When I looked towards the sky, I saw her on the school roof.
I dashed as fast as I could and saw Serena with some scissors. "…Serena, what are you doing?"
Serena looked at me with a sad look. "I… did a lot of thinking yesterday. If you didn't come when you did and stopped the possessed kid from hitting Ash…" Serena closed her eyes and looked away. "I was there… All I did was scream and cry. He saved my life, but… I didn't do a thing to help him in danger!" Tears fell to the ground.
I gave her a worried look. "Serena… you were just afraid. That's okay…"
Serena clenched her fist. "It's not! He would've gotten seriously hurt! The pikachu he cares deeply for got hurt, because of me!" She shouted. "I've boughten such shame to myself, but…" Serena wiped away her tears and opened the scissors over her hair she held in her other hand and slowly closed her eyes. "…Let me never again let Ash… or anyone be in that much danger again…" Serena chopped her hair, and I watched as those long blonde locks blow off in the wind when she opened her hand. Once she had long hair that went to her chest, now it barley passes her chin.
I starred at her with a shocked look.
"…Well?"
I smiled. "Looks great. Short hair really suits you."
Serena smiled.
The bell to be in class rang.
We both screamed and dashed back to the door in the building and to our classes, which were far away from the roof.
We went to meet with Lunar after school as she said she has something to tell us. She informed Serena about everything.
"… Also, about that clothing store, you said that's where the possessed kid come from and stayed around?" Lunar asked.
"Yes… That is pretty strange," I said.
"Looks like will have to investigate the store… but not right now."
"What do you mean not right now? If we just let them go on with more possessed people in there, they can have much dangerous people and a lot of people could be in trouble!"
"I know! But you two barely took care of one possessed kid. If we go in there, there's likely going to be more possessed people that are much more dangerous than a kid with a bat."
I screamed. "That sounds terrible! How are we going to deal with a bunch of possessed people with dangerous weapons?"
Lunar popped out a frisbee.
"What's that for?"
"You've been struggling a lot with aim with the tiara. However, it's a very useful tool that all Guardians can use. It's more than just an accessory, it's virtually indestructible and can cut through any surface if you so desire."
Serena frowned. "We don't want to kill innocent civilians…"
"Of course not. However, I know your desires will not make your tiara kill or harm the innocents. If you want them to just be knocked out, that's what it'll do."
"But… hitting them hard enough to knock them out will more than likely sill harm them."
"Well luckily for you, you don't have to harm them at all. You can just freeze them to keep them from harming you."
"So then why are we wasting time? We gotta get to that store and stop the dark kingdom from harming everyone!" I shouted.
Lunar sighed. "Serena barley stopped a small child from moving just long enough for you to heal him. Besides, you don't have to use the tiara to knock people out, but to disarm them as well."
"I still don't like the idea of freezing them ether. I really hope the kid is okay… What if he gets sick, or if I made his body go into shock?" Serena said.
"Listen to me… your powers are connected to your desires. Nothing bad should happen to the innocents if that is your desire."
"…Okay."
"And I have something to give you, Serena."
"No fair! What about me?" I shouted.
Lunar gave me an annoyed look. "Relax. You already have one…"
We gave her a confused look.
Lunar popped out a light blue communicator.
"Oh, yeah. I do," I said.
"This is a communicator that can reach ether me, May, or the both of us. Just hit who you'd like to talk to and hit call." Lunar turned to me. "I also updated your communicator to be able to call Serena and it can also talk to the both of us too."
We looked at our communicator.
"Sweet!" I shouted.
"Alright, that is all I have to say. Good luck with your train…"
"Wait! When do we go in to investigate the store?" I shouted.
Lunar titled her head. "Well… whenever you both feel comfortable throwing that frisbee. I'll let Serena decide that."
"What? How come my input isn't good for you, Lunar?"
She narrowed her eyes at me. "Because you believe we should storm in now."
"Yeah! Because I'd like the least number of casualties as possible!"
Lunar frowned. "And what happens if you two fail and get killed?"
Me and Serena gasped with a worried look.
"Listen, I want to believe in your success. You two have the power of Arceus with you, and I really don't want ether of you to die or get harmed in any way. But like I said, we struggled against that kid, and that's something that could've made this a lot easier is if you could hit something with that tiara. So, if you really want to get into that store quickly, then better learn to throw better." Lunar then walked off.
I looked down with a sad look.
"When Lunar lays everything out, it makes me wonder if we should go through with this at all…" Serena said.
"If only we can contact Guardian V somehow… She could take care of this haunted store."
Serena crossed her arms with a frown. "Well, I'm sure she's busy enough with what she's handed with…"
"Yeah, maybe… Well, we could also be fine when we have Thorn watching our backs as well!"
"…Who is Thorn, anyways?"
I looked down on the ground with a serious look. "I'm… not totally sure. All I know is that he's on our side!"
Serena titled her head. "What makes you say that?"
"Because he saved me and encourages me!"
Serena beamed. "Wow, he kind of sounds a bit like Ash!"
"Yeah, a little…" I held out the red rose Thorn gave and held it to my face with a blush.
"Do you think… they know each other?"
"Maybe… We could ask Ash!"
Serena looked at the number she got from him with a blush. "W-what if he's busy?"
"Then we can send a text, of course!"
Serena looked away with a nervous look. "Y-yeah…"
"…If you want me to do it…"
"No!" Serena defensively shouted.
I backed up with a shocked reaction. It was a weird reaction. Ash handed it to the both of us and said we can call or text any him time.
"I uh… I can do it." She pulled out her cell phone. "So… what should I put?"
"If he knows a tall, handsome, green- haired dreamboat that wears a cape, mask, and a suit that goes by Thorn!"
"Oh…" Serena's hands moved to text on her phone. "I… should probably say it's me, huh…?"
"Oh yeah! Since it's the first time texting him and all."
Serena starred at the phone with an uneasy look.
I gave a confused look. "…Is something the matter?"
"I… it's just… I don't know… Will he be mad?"
"Why would he be mad? He gave us his number…"
"Y-yeah… true." She hit send with her eyes closed. "Oh no!"
"What?"
"I didn't say it was me!"
I sighed. "You can still do that."
"Y-yeah…" She let out a nervous laugh as she quickly texted on her phone. Then I heard her phone ding with a reply.
I jumped to her excitingly. "What did he say?"
"… That he's not familiar at all with the person."
I looked down with a frown. "I see…"
Serena picked up the frisbee. "Anyways, we should probably get started on our uh… training, I guess."
"Okay!" we got some distance from each other.
Serena tossed the frisbee straight to me.
I caught it. "Nice throw!"
She laughed. "I wasn't so sure that I would… I mean, it's been years since I last tossed one with my friends in Kalos…" She looked down with a frown.
I looked at her with a sympathetic look. "…You okay?"
Serena looked at me with a smile. "Of course! I'm having a blast!"
I smiled a bit. "Alright… I guess it's my turn." I toss the frisbee, but the wind picked it up and headed straight towards a green-haired teenaged male that was with his friends standing on the playhouse.
Me and Serena gave a worried look and shouted, "look out!"
The male caught the frisbee with a cocky smile. "Man, you're terrible with a frisbee," he commented.
I stormed at him with an angry look. "Who asked for your opinion?"
He looked away with that same smirk and chuckled.
I clenched my fist and barred my teeth. "Who do you think you are, anyways?"
"I know I'm a man who knows how to toss a frisbee better than you." He tossed the frisbee back to me. "I wouldn't waste others time with such a terrible tossing. You're just embarrassing yourself, meatball head!"
His friends laughed. "Meatball head… cause her hairs' brown and has two buns on the sides of her head lookin' like meatballs, ha ha! Good one, Drew!"
"You… booger-haired jerk face!" I shouted.
They all laughed.
"I've heard worse insults from a kindergartener!" Drew said.
I put up my fist and glared at him. "Why you…"
"Come on, May… Let's go. There's no point in entertaining these bullies who are so low as to pick on a great woman such as yourself!"
All the guys looked away with an ashamed look.
I smiled. "You're right. Thanks, Serena!"
We walked away from them.
Serena looked back at them. "…They're still watching us."
"What creeps!" I shouted.
