Izuku sat at his desk. He could not sleep, his mind stuck elsewhere. It had been about a month since the first mission had taken place and everything was going smoothly. The group of four worked at the various shops that lined the alien market every day after school, except for weekends and holidays. Izuku personally liked the days that he worked for Varns. Even though the first encounter with the necrofriggan nearly scared the pants off him, Izuku quickly found himself liking his new boss.
Noticing he was going off on a tangent, Izuku slapped himself gently on the face. He needed to focus on the notes he was taking. He was, once again, taking notes on the book that he was allowed to take from the shop. There was something odd about that book that just made him keep coming back to it. Who was this Azmuth and how did he know so much about other alien races? Was he himself an alien?
Izuku looked over at his clock. It was two in the morning. "Crap", he muttered to himself. He promised the group that they were going to meet up at a local smoothie joint to hang out tomorrow, seeing as tomorrow was Sunday. He got from his chair, jumped into bed, and let sleep do the rest.
The next day, Izuku quickly got dressed, ate, and said goodbye to his mom before heading out. He found the smoothie place, called "Smoothie-san", rather easily. Not many places had colorful smoothie as its mascot. As he approached, it was Jiro who noticed him first.
"Hey!" She waved slightly. The other two noticed him now.
"Hey, Midoriya!"
"Good morning, Midoriya!"
"Hey, guys! Good morning!" Izuku said with a smile. The group went up to the counter to order smoothies.
" This place is so good. You've got to try it" Uraraka said in a bubbly tone.
" If you say so" Jiro replied with a grin.
Each teen got a different flavor. Uraraka got strawberry, Jiro got grape, Kirishima got peach and Izuku got melon. As soon as they got their orders, the teens sat down at a nearby table.
"Yum, so good!" Uraraka said as she slurped her smoothie.
"Yeah..." Kirishima replied as he sipped his.
"Just be careful not to get brain freeze" Izuku laughed.
" Aye aye, Captain" Jiro winked jokingly. The whole group laughed.
"Hey, Midoriya?" Izuku looked over at Uraraka, who suddenly looked a little confused and a little sad.
"Why do you still call Bakugo "Kacchan" even though he's been bullying you for so many years?"
The group stopped what they were doing to look at their green-haired companion. Izuku had recently told them about how Kacchan had been a bully since they were kids. They got pretty angry when he mentioned the blonde had told him to kill himself. Izuku stopped to think for a second. Why did he still call him that? It wasn't like their friendship was suddenly going to mend.
"I... don't know why... I guess I thought there was still some hope to repair the friendship we once had " He admitted sadly.
" No way, that friendship is beyond repair at this point. He told you to jump off a building. Friends don't do that" Kirishima said, a serious look on his face.
"Yeah, you shouldn't be friends with someone like that" Jiro said, messing with her earlobes. She too had been made fun of, because of her ears, so she knew where Izuku was coming from.
" Besides, you have real friends now!" Uraraka smiled brightly. Izuku almost felt like crying. Here he was with actual friends who supported him no matter what, something that he never had before.
"Thanks guys" He sniffled a little.
"Hey, don't go turning into a sobbing mess on us, ok?" Kirishima laughed.
The teens talked and laughed at Smoothie-san's for a few hours before waving goodbye to one another and heading home. It was the best Izuku had felt with people his age in quite a while.
Pretty soon, it was Monday again. Time for school. About half of the class was already in when Izuku arrived and took his seat. No sign of Ka... err Bakugo, Izuku would have to remind himself. After yesterday's talk, he had agreed to stop calling the blonde by that nickname as he didn't deserve it. However, soon, said blonde made his appearance.
"Oiy, Deku!"
"Eh...Bakugo?"
The class went dead silent. Even Bakugo was caught off guard, a brief look of shock covering his face. Some of his classmates began to whisper.
"Did he just call him Bakugo?"
"What happened to Kacchan?"
He looked over to Fugi-san to see her giggling. The rest of the students sent weird glances her way, but she didn't care. Anodites were known for their carefree nature after all, at least, that's what Izuku had read.
"Grr, nevermind" Bakugo grunted, backing off, to Izuku's surprise. That was the first time he had ever seen the Blonde back off. What was this day turning into?
