A/N: Thanks again to Greatkingrat88 for his work on the chapter, although this chapter is going to be a bit short given how long of a wait there was between chapters. Part of it was that my beta had some real life stuff to deal with, although I had the chapter done but some further edits and improvements were needed.

But now hopefully things will be back on track now.

Now before we get into the chapter, I got some reviews I couldn't PM a reply to take care of.

Anon: Actually adapting some elements wasn't as difficult as I thought, the only problems it came to was history which me and my beta came to the conclusion that when the people behind Code Geass created the series and built its timeline they didn't do their homework on history, I could almost do some omakes based on some of our talks, including the inconsistencies, lack of info and etc we ran into while planning some of the singularities.

Guest: Actually, no Lelouch isn't usurping Ritsuka's harem, in fact no one is likely to a harem. I mean I am willing to do threesomes for Ritsuka and Lelouch, depending on the characters, which aside from Mash for Ritsuka, the pairings are going to be decided much later in the story, I am content to wait and see when the time comes who has built up the most chemistry with Lelouch and Ritsuka. At this point any harems happening are very unlike, although the matter will brought up in discussion among some characters at some point, part of a culture clash I look forward to writing.

But right now Lelouch is in "Revenge for Nunnally" mode right now, and god help Lev should Lelouch meet him again, so any relationships are the last thing on his mind right now.

Now those are done, on with the chapter.

Chapter 16

VIPs of History

After a sound night's rest, as the sun was slowly rising over the horizon, Lelouch awoke. He emerged from his tent to take in the fresh morning air, and took a deep breath. Once the cold started to bite, he went back into the tent to freshen up. While there was no shower, they had collected water the night before from an iced-over stream, and heated and purified it with the use of magic.

They had plenty of fresh water for cooking and drinking. Hygiene would be an issue, but there wasn't much they could do while camped out in the middle of winter. He bent down and retrieved some water to wash his face, at least.

They would travel once the sun had risen. Given the amount of undead and wyvern, daytime travel would let Romani or Sion warn them in time.

Lelouch had some time before they would move on. The Khan had promised to hunt before they left to conserve their supplies, and had not yet returned. As he sat there, wiping himself dry with a piece of cloth, Marie and Nobunaga approached.

"What's the matter, Lelouch?" Marine asked.

"Ah, well, I was debating if I should take a bath, but with the river frozen…"

"Really, it's not something you have to do. I mean yes, you should, but during campaigns it was difficult for me to get a good bath in. I had to use a barrel or a leaky wooden box in my tent," Nobunaga said, remembering her old troubles.

"Why is that?" Marie asked, seemingly obvious.

Probably because aside from potential assassination attempts, there would have been some fool that wanted to get a peep at her, Lelouch thought.

"Really?" Nobunaga said, annoyed with Marie's ignorance.

"Well, I suppose I'll just wait until I can find a more suitable place to bathe," Lelouch said, quickly changing the subject.

"Oh, I can take care of that," Marie offered. Quickly, she used her abilities to create a crystalized hut, with an open door and a bath, needing only water and wood to provide necessary heat from a crystalized stove built into the structure, which could also warm the water to a pleasant temperature.

"We should get some extra wood for this," Lelouch said. "Thank you, Marie. It's not too much for you, is it?"

"There is no need to worry. Having a proper master makes it easier for me to create things out of crystal. As long as I do not go too overboard with this power, there shouldn't be any problems using it for small-scale things like these," Marie replied.

"Good to know," Lelouch said, before walking away to grab some wood and a bucket.

Later, Lelouch finally heated enough water to take a bath. Waiting for it to cool, he turned to Marie.

"I know it's late to ask, but I can't be seen, right?" He knew the small house was made of crystal, and although he couldn't see inside, he wanted to make sure.

"It's alright, I can barely see you. You can bathe in peace. But be mindful that water might not stay warm indefinitely" Marie replied.

"You probably don't want to spend all day in there anyway," Nobunaga added.

"Duly noted," Lelouch said. Closing the door behind him, he began undressing himself. Thanks to the design, Lelouch couldn't really be seen, but Nobunaga inspected the structure, wondering if it had a window or anything beyond a small hole in the roof for smoke to come out from.

Once the water was cool enough, he quickly slid into pleasantly warm water. As much as he wanted to enjoy it, he had things to do and so he focused on taking care of everything as quickly as possible. Nevertheless the warmth of the bath was pleasant and relaxing, and he felt tempted to stay for as long as he could.

"A shame I couldn't take my turn as well. A warm bath in this cold does sound really good right now," Nobunaga mused.

"Do you want a bath house of your own?" said Marie.

"No, I am fine," Nobunaga said, declining the offer.

Meanwhile, the Khan had returned from a hunt. Seeing that Lelouch was tending to his hygienic needs, he moved onto preparing the meat he had obtained. While Lelouch finished, using a towel he had among his supplies to dry off before changing back into his clothes, the mongolian prepared a meal.

"Good morning, Lelouch," Genghis greeted, as his master, Marie, and Nobunaga rejoined him around the campfire. A side of meat was roasting over the fire. "Just in time. The food is almost ready."

"What kind? Rabbits?"

The Khan laughed, "Better yet, dragon meat!"

"Huh," Nobunaga and Lelouch said in unison.

"I couldn't find any rabbits, nor anything else of use, but with these wyverns being everywhere, I killed one for meat. I cooked some beforehand to taste test it, and I must say my work was better than I expected," Genghis Khan said proudly.

Although we got supplies, I do agree we should save them as much as we can, but…

"We're sure it's edible right? I never had supernatural beast meat before," Lelouch asked. It was not so much that he doubted his servant as he had some… concerns.

"Oh, I've eaten some rare beast meat before, but I'll admit wyvern meat is a first for me." The Khan said.

Nobunaga decided to give it a try, and Marie, compelled by curiosity, went for a slice as well.

"Oh my, this is quite good," Marie said, impressed.

"It's good, yes, but I think some seasoning would've gone well with it," Nobunaga agreed, chewing down her portion.

"True. I tried to find something I could use as seasoning, but nothing could be found," The Khan replied. Lelouch was hesitant, but ultimately ate into a serving of meat offered by the Khan. Much to his surprise it was delicious.

"Well, I am certainly impressed. If things were different, I think you could make a fortune selling this," he said, half-jokingly.

"You know, that could be why we don't see many dragons in the world anymore," Nobunaga mused with a laugh.

Following their breakfast, the group packed up their camp and cleaned it up, leaving no trace of their presence behind, before continuing onward to their destination. Leaving the small forest where they had made their camp, the group was greeted by an unexpected sight. For as far as the eye could see there lay wyverns, dozens of them, dead on the ground. From what Lelouch could tell, all of them seemed to be cut down with a sword. Some were decapitated, the necks cut clean through.

"These kills seem recent," the Khan said, kneeling down to inspect one of the dead creatures.

"Probably why we enjoyed such a peaceful night," Nobunaga mused, keeping one hand on the hilt of her katana. "Did you kill any of these, Mr. Khan?"

"No, the ones I slew for their meat came from the opposite direction," The Khan replied.

"The blood has started coagulating, so this is at least a few hours old, but no more. Beyond that, we can't be sure," Lelouch said. He was no forensic expert, but he had seen enough battlefields to know a thing or two.

"I agree. These dead wyverns aren't fresh, that much is certain, so who or what killed them has probably moved on," Nobunaga said, but kept her guard up all the same.

"If they were trying to set up some kind of ambush, this wouldn't be a bad location, especially if an assassin-class servant was involved. But this would be too open of a space for an assassin," Lelouch said.

These deaths were a mystery. Was it someone else with their own agenda? An enemy? Was it an Assassin-class? Or a potential ally? Either way, the dead wyverns seemed to be leading off towards their intended destination.

"You're not wrong. We should leave this area as quickly as possible," Genghis Khan agreed.

"I agree, lingering here brings its own risk. Whoever brought these creatures into being might investigate what happened," Nobunaga said.

"Then I'll help," Marie offered, and quickly conjured four crystal horses.

"These will do Marie, thanks," Lelouch said as he climbed onto a crystal steed.

Once everyone mounted a crystal equine of their own, the group rode off towards their destination. Genghis Khan and Nobunaga took up positions around Lelouch to protect him in the event of a surprise attack. Once they were long gone, however, the shadowy being that had been watching them appeared, cautiously following their trail.

They rode for an hour, and the crystal constructs rode fast and hard, without needing rest. In the distance, they saw columns of smoke rising into the sky, and as they drew nearer, they saw it was a town. They approached cautiously, with the Khan riding on ahead to investigate while Marie and Nobunaga stayed back with Lelouch. Once the way forward seemed clear, the trio rode closer, waiting for the forward team to finish their sweep.

The scene before them was a massacre. Bodies laid scattered across the ground. They saw what appeared to be French soldiers, some of their bodies half-eaten or mangled beyond recognition, only a few corpses intact. Looking at how they lay, Lelouch reasoned that the attack by the wyvern had to have been sudden, with little warning and likely in overwhelming numbers, the town had been overrun. More bodies lay strewn across the ground further out, stragglers trying futilely to run.

Those who hid in their homes were not likely to have lived either; every structure in the town was reduced to a charred ruin. Anyone hiding inside would have burned, or been crushed by falling debris.

"This is horrible! The revolution has already been bloody enough. Why cause even more bloodshed? Disrupt history and destroy the world, for what?" Marie said, horrified by the carnage before her.

"I can't say I know the enemy's end goal, but judging by Lev's words when we encountered him in Fuyuki, it seems it's motivated out of a hatred of humanity. Why are they going so far to destroy the world? I can only speculate without further information," Lelouch admitted.

"Are we sure whoever Lev is working for is involved with the Jacobins?" Marie inquired.

"If I was looking to sow further chaos in France during this period in history, it would be the most strategically useful way to do it. Given all of the uprisings they've instigated and those pushing back, if you could escalate the bloodshed and manipulate the right people, their bloodthirsty bands of fanatics, you could pour fuel on the fire and spread it further than before," Lelouch said.

"And you would have access to soldiers and informants who could keep a lookout for anyone likely to ruin those efforts," Nobunaga added.

"Exactly," Lelouch agreed. Controlling the Committee for Public Safety would be the most effective way to create greater amounts of chaos and bloodshed, and Lev would be using his followers to deal with anyone who could derail those same efforts. "I am sure everyone knows our faces, and if they see us without our disguises, we would be arrested for certain."

"They would have to throw an army at us if they think I'll let them get away with arresting you," Nobunaga said with a bloodthirsty smile.

"Yes, but I would like to avoid any needless casualties. I don't want to help Lev's plans further by killing more people. It would only make the damage to history worse," Lelouch said. An outright assault on Paris was out of the question, even if it was feasible. The last thing he wanted to do was unintentionally kill someone whose children or actions had a role to play in history. It would play into Lev's hands, and that was the last thing Lelouch needed.

"That is good to hear. There has been enough bloodshed in France," Marie said, sounding thankful.

"Indeed," Lelouch said, deciding not to tell her why he really wanted to hold back. A short time later, Genghis Khan returned.

"The town and its inhabitants have been killed, as far as I can tell, but there is a survivor," He reported.

"But?" Nobunaga said.

"A Heroic Spirit is protecting them. It must be someone of note."

"Are they friendly?" Lelouch asked warily.

"I would assume so, given the person they are protecting. Keeping him alive is in the best interest of history," the Khan retorted, gesturing for everyone to follow.

Lelouch refrained from further questions for the time being, but he had his suspicions about who this mystery person would be, given the date and location. Riding into the ruined town, Marie was saddened by the destruction around her. What had been a prospering town, removed from the violent conflicts happening across France, was now a shell of its former self. It seemed like it had been a safe haven for its inhabitants; now there was only death to be found here.

The trail of dead Wyvern continued into the town, though, some collapsed in the burnt-out husks of houses destroyed by their attacks. Only a heroic spirit could have wreaked such havoc on these creatures. Could there be survivors, with such a protector in place? If so, none were coming forward for now.

"This was a full-scale attack," Nobunaga said. "The number of dead wyverns and the destruction. This wasn't just some random attack by roaming monsters," She observed the devastation, the dead monsters littering the ground, counting more than two dozen.

"I agree, the numbers suggest this attack was the wyverns searching for someone specifically to eliminate, likely the person the Heroic Spirit in question is protecting," Lelouch said, and his suspicions about the important person were more certain than before.

Suddenly, the Khan signaled for everyone to halt. He moved his horse forward.

"Alright, I've brought the one who I've forged a contract with. Now I suggest you introduce yourself."

Exiting spirit form ahead of them was a young man- or woman- whose androgynous, youthful features were handsome and graceful. Their attire was stylish, and expensive; a light green coat with a lily-shaped cape draped over their shoulders, a pink cravat and a blue hat with a pink feather and white gloves.

"Wait," Marie said, recognizing the Heroic Spirit, "Chevalier d'Eon, is that you? You seem… different."

"Huh?" d'Eon said, looking at Marie more closely. "Your majesty!?" The Heroic Spirit quickly bowed deeply. "Please forgive me, your majesty, I didn't recognize you for a moment."

"Well, you look different yourself. You seem younger than I remember," Marie complimented.

"Ah yes, well, it's how I chose to manifest as a Heroic Spirit."

"In that case, allow me to introduce Chevalier d'Eon, the Knight of the White Lily, an accomplished author and one of France's best spies. Not to mention a Captain of Dragoons," Marie said. The knight's cheeks flushed with her praise.

"Please, your majesty is too kind."

"That's quite the resume," Lelouch said, impressed.

"Dragoons?" Nobunaga asked.

"A class of mounted infantry, trained in fight with swords or firearms from horseback and would dismount and fight on foot if need be," Lelouch answered. Suddenly, his communicator device beeped.

"You're late if you are wanting to notify us about a Heroic Spirit in the area," Lelouch said, knowing who was calling.

"No, there is a horde of wyverns, undead and something else we can't identify converging on your location," Roman said in alarm as his holographic avatar appeared. "Sion and da Vinci just finished recalibrating SHEBA's sensors, allowing us to pick up on them. We've counted over a hundred."

"I guess whoever is here wants that person dead badly," Nobunaga said, readying herself for battle.

"I guess that also verifies that the monsters are being controlled by something or someone," Lelouch said, as Marie gathered magical power around herself.

"The Lovable Brilliance, For Eternity… Crystal Palace," Marie declared, activating her Noble Phantasm.

Pillars of crystal emerged from the ground, surrounding Lelouch and his allies, before forming into a crystallized replica of London's Crystal Palace. The bounded field, different from a reality marble, comprised the whole of the crystal palace as not only a protected area, but those within it were also strengthened by Marie's Noble Phantasm.

"Is he…" d'Eon asked, worried about the person they were keeping safe.

"Don't worry, he's in one of the most innermost rooms of the palace. He'll be safe," Marie said reassuringly.

"Roman, show me our immediate area and where this horde is," Lelouch said, using his communicator to display a holographic map of their location and the area around them. "Nobunaga, could you project your rifles around Marie's palace?"

"That sounds doable," Nobunaga replied.

"Marie, could you still create crystal constructs? Humanoid fighters, nothing too fancy?"

"I could, but maintaining my Noble Phantasm is a lot. But they won't be that useful for combat," Marie replied.

"That's fine. I just want to send them up against those things," Lelouch said, using his communicator to interact with the holographic projection. He zoomed in on an image of the new enemy accompanying the wyverns and the undead.

He couldn't tell if they were some kind of twisted starfish or some sort of living plant, or maybe a hybrid of the two. Their bodies seemed to be made up of purple, blue and yellow tentacles lined with spikes, and a mouth at the core of their bodies. If neither Sion or da Vinci, given her genius, could tell what they were, then Lelouch needed to send decoys or expendable fighters against them to gain knowledge of their abilities and how dangerous they could be.

"By the power of these two command seals, I shall empower your abilities to fend off the enemy," Lelouch said, offering two of his command seals to strengthen Marie's abilities to create the expendable soldiers, and empower Nobunaga's Noble Phantasm so she could expand it to encircle the Crystal Palace and help the warlord sustain her Noble Phantasm for longer.

"Nobunaga, I'll leave the air and perimeter defense to your Noble Phantasm. Khagan, could I ask you to deal with anyone who reaches the palace?" Lelouch asked.

"I'll deal with them." The Mongolian said grimly. "Although I prefer to not be on the defending side of a siege…"

"I'll create some fighters to send against those weird, octopus plant-things," Marie said, beginning to focus her power. As the command seal's power surged through her, simple humanoid figures made of crystal began growing out of the walls of the crystal palace.

"Please, allow me to aid in the defense," d'Eon said, stepping forward. "I know we just met and you have no reason to trust me, but I am a loyal knight and servant of the French Royal Family, and I shall not allow any harm to befall Queen Marie and her master. This, I vow."

Lelouch hesitated for a moment, but Marie intervened.

"I trust d'Eon, Lelouch. They were a most faithful and earnest knight, and spy in our service," Marie said.

Lelouch had his doubts, but he knew it would be difficult for Nobunaga and Genghis Khan to deal with such large numbers of attacking by themselves. He would need anyone who could fight to get out there and defend this place.

"Alright then, d'Eon, I want you to protect whichever side is opposite of where Khagan choses to defend," Lelouch said.

"I shall reward your trust in me by ensuring nothing enters this palace," d'Eon said, departing along with the Khan.

Once we've fended off this attack, we should take whoever d'Eon has been protecting and flee. If this is someone Lev wants dead, then staying here puts us at risk of being attacked again, Lelouch thought. He needed a plan of escape.

Outside, Nobunaga's Noble Phantasm manifested around the Crystal Palace as the horde of wyverns, undead and those many-armed monsters advanced upon the palace. Marie's crystal constructions fought their way through the undead. Their slow movements against humanoids made of crystal made them easy to dispatch and reach the unusual monsters among the undead.

Lelouch watched the incoming attack wave through the live feed provided by SHEBA, and felt grateful to see that Roman had taken the liberty to record the event, so that it could be shared with Ritsuka and Hakuno later. As expected, the tentacle-like appendages of the monsters reached out and stabbed the attacking humanoid crystal constructs, sometimes beheading them with a swift swipe of their tentacles. In one other instance, Lelouch saw them breathe some kind of black smoke, acidically melting right through the crystalline summons.

Hopefully the Khagan and d'Eon have seen this, Lelouch thought.

"Don't worry, Lelouch. D'Eon is undefeated with a blade. Not once did they ever lose a duel to anyone," Marie said reassuringly.

Meanwhile on his side of the defense, Genghis Khan saw what the monstrous creatures were capable of, and channeled power into his sword before unleashing an energy blast, killing them by the dozens, never failing to consider his surroundings. The Khan kept them at a distance with wide swings of Kunwu, and even if some of the undead and monsters escaped the blast wave or even the blade itself, the Khan kept the swarms under control.

A pair of undead tried to gang up on him, but when one of the tentacle monsters rushed him, he swiftly beheaded the undead, hurling the head of one of the zombies before it could fall to the ground. He tossed it at the second creature, momentarily stunning it. He swiftly dispatched it, littering more of the area with decapitated tentacles and creature parts.

Never in my life did I see such creatures, Genghis Khan thought, and he had seen his own share of things in life, both horrible and impressive. These tentacle monsters were among the worst he had seen, but Temujin had not become Khan by backing down or underestimating his foes. Keeping away from their destructive breath, he viciously carved through the horde while Nobunaga rained death upon them, thinning their ranks even further.

Even as he was managing them fine on his own, the sheer number of enemies did concern him, and a general of his caliber knew better than to take chances against a numerical superior force. Using his Noble Phantasm, he summoned a half-dozen warriors, as many as he could manage without overtaxing Lelouch, even with Chaldea's support systems. The newly summoned Mongolian Warriors joined the Khan in fighting off the attackers, using their bows to snipe the strange monsters from a distance when they could.

Not far away, d'Eon assumed a fighting stance as the first undead and octopus creatures approached. The crystalline fighters had given him ample warning of their abilities, but unlike the Khan they lacked the means to strike at range; fortunately, their skill with a blade was phenomenal. They had never lost a duel, and they wouldn't lose here. Not with the safety of their queen, and an important man who was vital to history, at stake. Drawing their rapier, d'Eon faced the approaching enemies.

D'Eon held their ground as the undead approached, beheading one before gracefully dodging the clumsy attacks of another, swiftly dispatching them. No matter how many came, the Knight of the White Lily faced them with unflinching and lethal grace, cutting the hordes down like wheat before the scythe. The sounds of Nobunaga's muskets rang through the air, sounding akin to cannon with the destructive potential to match, as volley after volley rang out. Even the explosions from Genghis Khan's unleashing blasts with his sword, Kunwu could be heard.

The knight of the white lily fought with ferocious determination, relying purely in their sword, evading every strike with catlike grace. However, the strange octopus creatures approached, and soon one of them lashed out with its tentacles.

The knight dodged, skillfully deflecting a second tentacle before closing in to cut the creature in half. With their A-ranked strength, d'Eon possessed greater physical power than what their dainty figure would suggest, and their rapier clove through the monster like a hot knife through butter. More began to surround d'Eon, however, which was worrying. Deciding not to hold back, d'Eon took a stance, activating their noble phantasm: Fleur de Lys: Gorgeous Splendor of Blooming Lilies. Several white lilies sprung up, bewitching the enemy, reducing their strength, endurance, and agility. With their enemies briefly stunned, d'Eon wasted no time, cutting a swathe through the monsters before they could be reinforced. By the time the next wave hit, the creatures he had struck lay still on the ground.

They may not have had the raw power or strength as some of Lelouch's servants had, but d'Eon made up for it with their speed, agility and excellence.

On the other side of the Crystal Palace Genghis Khan was now dealing with wyverns. Their ability to keep to the air was annoying, and a number of them had come to aid the horde. He made resourceful use of the severed limbs of the creatures he had killed when needed, using them to stun or force a wyvern away just long enough to kill it himself. Nobunaga would sometimes shoot them out of the sky, whenever they cowardly tried to retreat into the air to escape.

Thanks to her abilities, and having the high ground, Nobunaga had gained a much higher body count than Genghis Khan and d'Eon put together, a fact that brought a smile to her face.

Whoever that servant is protecting, must be some real historical big shot to get this many sent after them. Reminds me of that whole shit show against the Asakura clan, when those bastards from the Azai clan backstabbed me, Nobunaga thought, watching the number of enemies converging upon them.

Just thinking of that time made Nobunaga quite angry. The betrayal of her own brother-in-law after he married his sister was still a sore spot even after all this time.

Fortunately for her, and less fortunately for the incoming wyvern, she had a convenient way to vent her anger. Thanks to Lelouch's Command Seal, and having Marie as his servant, Nobunaga could maintain a steady stream of powerful musket fire sending wyverns, by the dozen, falling from the sky, the warlord asserting control of the battlefield. Occasionally she would rain down hell upon the enemies below, keeping the enemies below in check and ensuring their numbers were more manageable for d'Eon and Genghis Khan. By the time the last of their enemies were slain, the area around the Crystal Palace was littered with the bodies of slain undead, the strange creatures and lots of wyverns. But once the last of the enemies were finished off, Lelouch knew they had no time to waste.

As previously agreed, the Crystal Palace began to vanish. Standing in its center, as the conjured structure began to vanish, were new crystal horses for Nobunaga and Genghis Khan, including ones for the Mongolian warriors the Khan had summoned earlier, faster than the warriors summoning their own mounts since escape was paramount. This time, a carriage drawn by four crystal horses had been created, but designed to accommodate their precious cargo.

As the crystal palace disappeared, d'Eon realized Lelouch's intention and hurried back to help get their charge away. They were relieved to see him alive, and despite their dainty frame, d'Eon carried the man with no problem and brought him to the crystalized carriage, made to let him lie down to allow the man to better recover.

Genghis Khan hurried, recognizing Lelouch's intent, and knew they needed to get away from this place. Fighting a defensive battle was not his style, and they might not be able to hold a second wave.

"Lady Nobunaga," Genghis Khan said, as the warlord descended when the last of the palace vanished. "I think you should ride with Lelouch, Marie and our cargo. You'll be better suited to protecting the wagon."

"Agreed. I kind of want to know who our cargo is," Nobunaga said with a smirk.

"I'll look after him, d'Eon," Marie said, joining the chevalier in the carriage, where the wounded man lay splayed out.

"Thank you, your majesty," d'Eon said, grateful and pleased.

"Not at all. I think you ought to ride with the Khan. It seems Lady Nobunaga will be riding with us," Marie said, Nobunaga boarding the carriage with Lelouch.

"Understood, your majesty."

The carriage itself was being driven by a crystalized human, controlled by Marie, and once everyone was ready they hurried away.

"Where do we go?" Marie asked Lelouch, as he looked down at the unconscious man, shocked. This confirmed his suspicions.

"Let's head southwest," Lelouch advised.

"Isn't that slightly back towards the way we came?" Marie asked, confused.

"Yes, but if we head further east, the chances of our enemy intercepting us will be higher. We should avoid conflict for now. This man's death could have catastrophic consequences for history," Lelouch said. Although he looked slightly different from the pictures he had seen, the face was unmistakable and the amount of effort being put into killing him further cemented who he was. "After all, that was the direction this man was heading in."

"Who is he?" Nobunaga inquired, looking him over. He was of average height, lean and suntanned, and did not look like much where he lay.

"Brigadier General Napoleon Bonaparte, of the French Revolutionary Army," Lelouch answered.

A/N: Well this just got complicated, Napoleon, the man's actions that leads to the birth of Britannia and the birth of the E.U, so yeah someone whose presence affected much of the history of the CG world.

Meaning they are going to need to keep Napoleon alive, but easier said than done especially since his death will have a damaging impact on history.

I feel bad this chapter was shorter than I would've liked given the delay in between chapter updates, and ultimately I was disappointed by it if I am being honest. I wanted to do much more with it, but I didn't want to overpack it with too many events and wanted to kick off the singularity on a slower and lighter start, but maybe this was too light.

Next after I update my Sunrider crossover, then my KH crossover, will this story be updated again, and I am sincerely hoping there won't be another long delay. BUT I am preparing a new story to post, in which I've been stockpiling chapters, so if a long delay like that happens again I'll at least have something to post for you guys to keep you all tied over until the update comes out.

I have my new projects listed on my profile page, and I am considering revisiting some old projects, I just have to figure out some issues with them to move ahead with them. And I've added links to the polls for my new projects or old projects I got lined up in the future, if anyone was curious.

I might also try to update the tv tropes page for the story, because after whoever created it never updated it since so I added a character page and made what updates I could, but I'll admit my knowledge on tropes is very lacking while other tropes I avoided adding out of worry for spoilers.

So hopefully nothing will delay the chapters for my next stories, before this one is updated because I refuse to put out chapters un-beta worked for this story, especially since when said beta is very big into history and especially the French Revolution so yeah…we got this.

Anyway thank you for reading and I apologize the chapter wasn't anything special, but I hope to make that up next chapter when we check in on Ritsuka and Hakuno. As Lelouch and company need to figure out what to do with Napoleon. Thank you all in advance for any feedback its, welcomed. Hopefully I did manage to respond to all of those I could PM, if I somehow overlooked you then I apologize and I'll address that.
