'What am I going to do against Iida?' Momo panicked
'I'll have to end this quickly' Iida thought
Izuku was unsure which of his friends to root for, so being the skilled diplomat he is, he walked over to the pair.
"Good luck to both of you! I-I want you b-both to w-win, but just be s-sure to have a good match" he beamed
"Thank you Midoriya" Iida chopped, "I shall do my utmost to ensure a good match befitting this institution!"
"I shall also strive to do my best" Momo said feeling relieved
"Hey Deku!" Uraraka waved, "I've saved you a seat" she smiled
"Thanks, Ochaco" he replied going over and sitting next to her
"I don't know who I want to win" she added
"Me too, I just want them to both have a good fight," Izuku said
"I'm sure they will!" she said energetically
"ARRREEE YOU READYYYY" Mic hyped the crowd up, "THE FIRST MATCH OF THE QUARTER FINALS IS ABOUT TO GET STARTED WITH THE BROTHER OF THE HERO INGENIUM, TENYA IIDA! AGAINST THE HEIRESS TO THE YAOYOROZU THRONE, MOMO YAOYOROZU!"
'He didn't have to let everyone know' Momo thought clenching her hand over her chest
'I will show Tensei that I too can be a good hero like him' Iida promised
"Are you both ready?" Midnight asked
"Yes Ma'am" they both replied
Midnight cracked her whip, "THEN BEGIN!"
Both students faced off waiting for the other to make a move
'I need to make something to stop him moving'
'I need to end this quickly'
Both strategies opposed the other, Iida needed to end this before Momo had time to come up with a plan and Momo needed to stall for time.
Iida pushed off the ground running at Momo ready to strike. Iida wasn't moving at top speed as he didn't think Momo would be able to react either way. That was a mistake.
Momo's hand glowed as she threw caltrops across the floor preventing the younger Iida's movement, he would have to be careful now. Iida stopped dead in his tracks.
"Nice choice Yaoyorozu, I expect nothing less from a recommended student" Iida praised
Momo blushed, "Thank you Iida, I had to come up with something!"
Momo was still stalling for time, she was making an adhesive gun on her back.
"Unfortunately I cannot let you just beat me, I have to show my brother I can be a hero!" he replied
Iida kicked it into a higher gear, blue flames starting to push their way out of his exhaust.
"RECIPRO EXTENDDDDD!" he screamed
Iida charged Momo down; cocking back his leg to kick her out of the arena. As Iida's leg connected with her Momo grabbed the gun and aimlessly fired it.
"Momo Yaoyorozu is out of bounds, Tenya Iida is the winner!" Midnight announced
'Oh no! I lost!' Momo thought in a worried tone
"Great fight Yaoyorozu" came the voice of Iida, "But I request your assistance in the removal of this glue, if we were fighting for real, you would've beaten me"
"N-No, you won" Momo replied drained of all confidence.
She walked over to Iida and unstuck him, shaking hands they both left the arena.
"Hey Momo!" shouted Izuku, "You were incredible!"
"Don't be ridiculous Izuku, I lost" she said
"NO!" Izuku replied pissed at her lack of confidence, Ironic, "You beat Iida if it was real, he couldn't move at all, in a real fight you defeated your opponent"
"T-Thank you Izuku, I don't agree but I can see your point"
"Well looks like I'll have to make you see in my fight then won't I?"
"What are you going to do"
"Go Beyond, I'll shatter my limits if it proves to you that you were good, I'd say the same to Tenya as well"
"Don't break yourself again please" she begged
"No promises" he laughed
Momo just sighed knowing he probably would break again. The two started to walk back to the Class A section to be met by Bakugo.
"Tch, outta my way you damn nerd" Bakugo spat
"S-Sorry K-Kaachan"
Bakguo scoffed and smashed his shoulder into Izuku's.
'I need to talk to him about that' Momo thought with a concerned look
Momo leads Izuku back towards the Class A viewing area. "Izuku?" Momo started, he turned to look at her, "Why are you always so scared around Bakugo?"
"I-I'm not? H-He's just amazing" Izuku replied, knowing it was a lie
"Are you sure? It doesn't seem like that, you look terrified around him" Momo pushed
"Y-Yeah it's fine, I'm fine" Izuku reassured.
"If you say so"
"NOW WE'VE GOT TWO STUDENTS FROM CLASS 1A! FIRST WE HAVE THE UNSTOPPABLE WALL EIJIRO KIRISHIMA! AGAINST THE LIVING NUKE, KATSUKI BAKUGOOO!"
"Let's have a good fight bro" smirked Kirishima
"You'd better fight me with all you've got shitty hair"
"BEGIN"
Kirishima hardened the second the match began anticipating the attack from his friend. Bakguo instantly threw his hands forward and allowed his sweat to pool before releasing one of his trademark explosions.
Kirishima grunted as he felt the heat course over his body. Not giving Bakugo any time to wind up a second shot, he jolted forwards bringing his right arm back ready to strike. Kirishima swung his fist directly at Bakguo's head. For it to miss as Bakugo was no longer standing there. He used an explosion to leap over the redhead.
"What? Where is he?" pondered Kirishima
"HERE, CLUSTERBOMB!" the blonde screamed, releasing a full-powered blast at Kirishima's unprotected back.
"AAAAGGGHHH" he shouted, feeling the burns and the impact
"Kirishima is out of bounds, Bakugo is the winner" announced Midnight.
"Nice fight Kirishima" Bakugo acknowledged picking his friend up to go to Recovery Girl.
Shiozaki vs Todoroki.
"Shoto, you need to use your fire, you cannot keep relying on your ice" Endeavor demanded.
"I'll win this without your damned fire quirk" Todoroki responded
Both Todoroki's turned to leave sporting furious faces.
"FOR OUR THIRD QUARTER-FINAL MATCH, WE HAVE THE LAST MEMBER OF CLASS 1B, IBARA SHIOZAKI, AGAINST THE SON OF ENDEAVOR, SHOTO TODOROKI!"
"I hope we can have a battle the angels would approve of," Shiozaki said
Shoto simply looked blankly at her, face devoid of emotion.
"BEGIN"
Shiozaki pushed her vines into the ground to wrap Shoto up and throw him out of the arena. Shoto cooled off his body, pushing it as low as he could. The vines touched his skin and began to snap due to the freezing temperatures.
"And I've just won" Shoto announced.
"HEAVEN-PIERCING ICE WALL!"
Shiozaki felt a glacier smash into her body sending her flying out of the arena.
"Todoroki wins!" shouted a frozen Midnight.
Class A box
"That's some serious power" commented Kaminari
"Can you even fight that Midoriya?" asked Sero
"Of course, he can!" shouted Ochaco, "Deku can do anything if he really wants it!"
"T-Thanks Ochaco" Izuku replied nervously
"Do your best Izuku" Momo said.
"FOR OUR FINAL QUARTER-FINAL MATCH, WE HAVE THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS, FUMIKAGE TOKOYAMI AGAINST THE MAN OF GREEN, IZUKU MIDORIYAAA"
Hero / Teacher box:
"He'd better win, I'm not taking on no loser," Miruko remarked.
"I'm sure Young Midoriya will do fine, Young Tokoyami is no pushover, this is a fight between two powerhouses" All Might added
"I would say that Midoriya wins this, his quirk produces light which weakens Dark Shadow, adding to his physical strength boost. It's a tall mountain for Tokoyami to climb," said Nezu
"ARGH, just get the fight started already!" Miruko shouts across the entire stadium
Ringside
"Well, you heard the Number Five Hero!" Midnight hyped, "We don't want to edge you any longer" with a wink, "BEGIN"
"Good luck," both Tokoyami and Izuku say
"DARK SHADOW!"
The sentient quirk darted towards Izuku preparing an attack.
"Full Cowling! Ten Percent!" Izuku shouted, allowing the power to build.
The lightning was bouncing off his body, flowing steadily around him. Izuku jumped out of the way of Dark Shadow. The quirk turned and chased, determined to fulfil its wish.
"Ugh" Izuku grunted, getting caught. Dark Shadow started an onslaught of punches, three into his stomach, four into the face and kept going.
"That's enough Dark Shadow!" shouted Tokoyami, "Give up Midoriya, you're beaten"
"Beaten?" Izuku smirked tasting the blood Dark Shadow caused.
His face spread into a wide grin, "No I've not lost, I'm just getting STARTED!" he shouted
"Principal Nezu, is he doing it again?" Snipe asked
"Doing what?" Miruko asked
"When Midoriya starts to enjoy a fight, he starts to lose himself and becomes much more ferocious" Nezu explained, "And yes Snipe I think he is"
"Ohh shit! This is going to be awesome!" Miruko exclaimed bouncing up and down in her seat.
'Young Midoriya, be careful,' All Might thought.
"HAAAAAAA!" Midoriya shouted, allowing the pressure of One For All to build inside him. The power is so great that it started to create strong wind to fly around him. His electricity turned much more violent and shone far brighter than before.
Midnight was struggling to stay in the same spot on the podium; with Tokoyami getting pushed back by the sheer display of power.
"SINCE WHEN COULD YOU DO THIS NERD!" roared Bakugo.
"This wind pressure is immense" Momo commented
"Deku has this kind of power?" Ochaco asked
Even Shoto looked worried at this display, knowing he would likely have to face this next. 'Good, I'll show my father I can beat the best without him'
"DARK SHADOW HOLD ON!" Tokoyami shouted.
"I AM FUMI!" the quirk retorted, its hands dug into the ground.
"I didn't know you could use this much without breaking Midoriya, good job on the control" drawled Aizawa, who'd been woken by the pressure.
"MIDORIYA HAS BECOME A LIVING HURRICANE! CAN TOKOYAMI EVEN WIN THIS?" Mic shouts
'One For All: Fifty Percent!' Izuku said in his head
'You can't move with this, let alone fight!' Nana replied
'It's not about the fight, I have to stop him getting close'
'Then use his quirk against him, it's the middle of the day and you produce light, take him down'
'R-Right, so push more light and tone it down?'
'Yes. I told you no breaking didn't I?' Nana chided
'Yeah you did, sorry'
'Don't apologise, go win this' she smirked
"Full Cowling! Twenty Percent!" Izuku toned the power down.
"What?" Tokoyami asked bewildered
"Let's go!" Izuku replied leaping towards the bird man, he pushed the lightning as bright as possible making Dark Shadow weaker.
"Dark Shadow go!"
"Fumi, I'm sorry, I don't want to fight, it's too light"
Tokoyami readied himself, he swung at Izuku connecting with his jaw. Izuku smirked at this and pushed the fist back with his face.
"Nice punch, now it's my turn," Izuku cocked his arm and swung at Tokoyami.
"TEXAS SMAASSHHHH!" He roared.
"Tokoyami is unconscious and out of bounds, Izuku Midoriya WINS!" Midnight announced.
Izuku smiled, he'd made it to the semi-finals!
"Deku! How did you do that?" Ochaco asked
"I just let my power build up and then I dropped it, I still can't move using it like that" he replied
"It was certainly a lot" Iida added.
"Deku, you bastard, how did you get that much power?" Bakugo pressed
"I-It's j-just my q-quirk Kaachan," he said
"Whatever nerd, I'll still crush you"
"I honestly don't know why you put up with him Izuku," Momo said
"H-He's my friend"
"Not from where I'm looking" she responded.
His group of friends left him to finish getting sorted. As Izuku walked out of the changing rooms he was confronted by Miruko, who was equal parts excited and angry.
"KID, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU COULD DO THAT!" she shouted, bouncing up and down on her feet.
"D-Do what?" he asked
"All that power! I want you to fight me with it!"
"I can't, I can't use my quirk unless the school allow it"
"You can, you're gonna win this festival and then you're gonna intern with me. Besides the fact I wanna fight, it benefits you too, my style of fighting would improve you a lot," she said smugly
"SEE YOU, GOOD LUCK!" with that she darted off
'Wow she's weird' Izuku chuckled
'She definitely knows what she wants' Nana added
"AND WITH THAT WE'RE DONE WITH THE QUARTER FINALS! NOW WE NEED TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE SEMI-FINAL FIGHTS! MIDNIGHT!"
Midnight span the wheel.
1st : Katsuki Bakugo vs Tenya Iida
2nd : Shoto Todoroki vs Izuku Midoriya
"Oooh, we have Power against Speed and then two powerhouses. How arousing" Midnight swooned.
"THERE IT IS, THE FIGHTS ARE KNOWN, WE'RE TAKING A BREAK TO FIX THE RING THEN WE'LL BE BACK!"
