Hello readers. I hope you like the new chapter. It regrettably took me over 2 years to get it to come out but I'm personally happy how it came out. The two deserved to each have an assassination themed mission for both of their targets, and who could've guessed Jack the Ripper would show up in the fanfic? I mean other than everyone who's been leaving messages begging for him to show up. Overall, definitely one of my better chapters personally and I'm sure people are excited what's next to come.
Weeeeellllll... Don't get too excited is all I can say.
Unfortunately this will be the last chapter of the story. Honestly I hit a huge case of writers block this last 2 years if anyone hadn't noticed, but by the time I stopped working on the chapter I was about half way through it before I stopped, then... god, then time just completely slipped past me and it was a year or 2 later and I haven't gotten around to writing. I would've hated myself if I never at least finished this last chapter for you guys to read and I'd hate myself even more making you all wait another 2 years for a new chapter. Covid and work after college just completely screwed me and I just couldn't keep up with publishing like I wanted to back when I started this story in high school. I had so many ideas for this fanfic that I wanted to put in writing for so long, but doing that just takes a lot more work than I thought I was ready to put into it. Especially after high school and college.
Like I said this will be the end of the Aura of Death story. Buuuuuuuut... I figured I at least owe it to you all to lay down brief summaries of the rest of the story and all the ideas I had in my head leading up to the Apple being found, so you can all at least see where the story was heading. So here it goes...
To start with, I had a prequel story in place (That I may or may not release since I already worked on half of it) where this story would explain David's life, leading up to how he meet Cinder and how she got around to adopting him, how he meet Yang, how he meet the Swarm, how he eventually meet Salem and the others, how he meet Arthur in Shade Academy, and how he was working in the sidelines of Jacobs adventure and spying on him, as well as trying to slow him down on his hunt. It would also explain how Salem eventually found out that Jacob and Evie came from Earth and some other somewhat related topics.
After that prequel story came to a close, it would then pick back up with the Aura of Death again. The story would continue on and be about Jacob working with the Swarm more directly in order to help bring down the Red Gorillas for good, and more importantly their leader. Jacobs thought process would be that Alex Taurus was the only person that would know where his brother Adam would be. The problem for Jacob however was that once Davids death reached the Swarms ears, the Swarm was unable to know if they could fully trust Jacob, since they knew he had something to do with his death, but not the full context of how he was working with both the Swarm AND the Red Gorillas. The one who would figure out if Jacob could be trusted or not would be the leader of the whole Swarm organization, Negan. Yes, the leader of the Saviors from the Walking Dead if anyone caught that reference in one of my previous chapters. That idea of using those characters came to my head back when Walking Dead was still popular, and I needed to think up of characters cool enough to become gang leaders. That's where Simon came from... Though I made a slight fuck-up and didn't realize that Simon was actually Negans right hand man in the show, not a lieutenant. Because in my story, Dwight was going to be the right hand man. It's not a big change but I was a little worried some people would probably notice the characters ended up changing and point it out and also seem confused about the change.
Fun fact by the way, Besides the gang name "the Swarm" which was a random stupid name I picked, the "Red Gorillas" was actually a parody name of an actual gang in I believe Detroit last I remember, called the "Black Gorilla Family"
Anyway, after Jacob managed to earn their trust again and was able to explain the situation, he'd then explain to them that he needed Alex to tell him where Adam was. Negan would agree to help get to him because to do that, they'd need to fight back against the whole Red Gorilla gang anyway, and push them out for good. It would basically be a combination of the same gang missions that Jacob had to perform back in London. A hitman job, help the cops arrest another target job, clear out a warehouse where the White Fang was using Faunus kids to help them, and finally they take on the stronghold where Alex would be held up. The adventure would eventually close with Alex of course being killed, the Red Gorillas being defeated and the White Fang losing their place in Vale. Jacobs next stop would be Menagerie, where he learned Adam Taurus would be.
In addition to Jacobs adventure with gang warfare, Evies adventure would be more about trying to figure out the clue left in the map, "Third Crusade", which if anyone is a die hard RWBY fan would know that that's a reference to the book Emerald asked Tuscon for. My thought process for that was it would be the name of an impossible to find book that would hold the only answer to finding out how to read the map and get the location to be marked. But in addition to working on the map, Evie would also be spending a bit more time focused on her love life, or rather her love triangle with Jaune and Pyrrha. I'll be honest, I spent so much time with Jacob that I never got around to giving enough time to working on Evie as well, at least when it came to her personal life like it came to Jacob. Originally I was trying to find a way to infuse Evie in between Jaune and Pyrrha and end up dating Jaune while staying friends with Pyrrha, but as the story went on instead I said fuck it and made all 3 of them start dating each other. The chapter going forward would be about the 3 working out how this would work between them. They were all into the idea, but none of them ever dated someone before, let alone 2 at the same time. It would eventually end with Evie figuring out the Third Crusade clue, where she finds out it's a book that Jaunes family are the only people that have the original book in Jaunes family home, on an island called Crescent Island.
Once both twins know their next moves, they both learn that they both need to leave Vale. Jacob needs to leave for Menagerie, and when he found out Blake lived in Menagerie before coming to Beacon, he insisted that he help her. It would end up taking some convincing but he and Blake would end up going together, where Blake would show him around the new island and also get the chance to meet Blake's parents. My idea at this point was either going to be that Jaune either tells her parents the situation with Adam, or he keeps it secret for the time being and they find out the hard way about that Jacob's intentions are with Adam. Either way, Jacob was going to spend his time traveling around the island, trying to go on the offensive with the White Fang lurking on the island, and mainly trying to lure Adam out of hiding.
While Jacob is making moves in Menagerie, Evie and Jaune take a trip to Crescent Island. Once Evie found out that Jaune's family has a book by the name "Third Crusade" the two decided to head to his home town to retrieve it. Thankfully Jaune has been getting a lot better with the relationship that he was in that he was more than willing to help Evie find the Apple. The one small issue that comes to mind is the fact that he has to see his family again and somehow find a way to explain how he lied to get his way into Beacon just to get away from his family who didn't want him to be a Huntsman. Sort of another chapter about Evie meeting Jaunes parents, like Evie meeting Pyrrhas parents. To make another reference to Assassins Creed like how I named Pyrrha's parents Nikolaos and Myrrine, I'd probably have made Jaune's dad name Eivor Arc or something, and the mom would also be named Randvi Arc. Their story would really just be about how Eivor hates the idea of Jaune trying to get him to stay home, because of something traumatic that happened with him when he was still a Huntsman. But you don't find out about that until later because Eivor is too busy being a dick. You know, the usual hardass dad cliche.
But while both of these are trying to get their jobs done and are off campus and out of the kingdom entirely with no protection, and vulnerable without the help of most of their respected teams, their enemies are busy plotting to hit them back. Adam is readying all od his White Fang forces to create 2 simultaneous attacks. Adam and half of the soldiers will go to Menagerie and engage Jacob, while also dealing with Blake and her whole family, and the other half of the soldiers will be lead by someone who truthfully is much scarier than their leader will ever be... Jack the Ripper!
So Jack at this point of the story finally make an appearance, well a bigger appearance than how he'll be presented throughout the story up till this point. There will have been a few segments of Jack who will have been training with Salem and the other of her lieutenants to gain his strength back up, where in the process, Arthur Watts will grow to be scared shitless of their new recruit, Hazel will grow to hate him but unable to kill him, and Tyrian will grow to love him and how brutal and terrifying he is (In a fanboy type of way. Not a literal he wants to fuck him way) When the time finally comes where Jacob and Evie both leave the safety of Vale to go on their hunts, Jacob will have teamed up with Adam so the both can work out a plan to take both of them on.
Well, unfortunately as you probably guessed, both end up failing. Adams story will inevitably end with being killed by Jacob. My idea for this was going to be an assassination mission very very similar to the mission in Assassins Creed Unity, where Arno kills that guy Letouche, the second to last templar who is chopping peoples heads off, and Arno pretends to be another prisoner to get close enough? Well that was going to be the same mission Jacob goes on, in order to save Kali and Ghira who are nearly about to be executed in front of the whole town.
For Evie having to deal with Jack, it was gonna go a lot differently. By that I mean Jack and the White Fang won't bother sneaking around this time and launch a full scale attack on Crescent Island. Jaune and his family were dealing with the White Fang while Evie was fighting two take a moment to speak as Jack tells her who the hell he is and why he wants Evie and Jacob dead. Which frightens her because she thought Neo was a clever killer, but imagine the thought of fighting someone like Jack, who as far as she knows is some crazy bastard she has to fight in the future. There will also be a slight difference to the previous Jack to this new Jack however. This one will be trained to use modern military equipment which definitely gives him an advantage. The two will fight around the Arc home, until Jaune comes to toe rescue, well, somewhat rescue. He helps Evie fight Jack off, and they were close to pulling it off too. But then Jack pulls a revolver out and shoots Jaune in the gut, which ends up going through his armor and his already weak Aura from fighting. This would be similar to what happened to Sun when he and Blake faced ilia.
They get Jacob to back off and make his escape once the help arrived. Jaune gets taken away to be worked on and makes a quick recovery thankfully, but not until his dad Eivor finally opens up. It was gonna be something dumb like "Son... I've done some thinking and when you recover from your wound, you are to take your great grandfathers sword shield and armor, and leave them here" and he and Evie will be shocked and think he's telling him to quit huntsman training. But instead he'll say "If you're going to go back out there and be the hero you plan to be, you need to do it with more dated equipment than that. So the ending of that part of the story will be a small montage of Evie and Jaune working on making a new set of armor and weapons for Jaune to have. And for this I was thinking that Jaune would now wear the Legendary Medieval Armor set from AC Unity, which I believe is the coolest set in the game. In addition to the armor, they also finally find the book they need. So both she and Jacob end up returning to Beacon with their jobs done and their enemies super pissed off.
Jacob had now eliminated the big chunk of Salems support with the White Fang's strength and morale depleted thanks to the death of Roman, and Evie was going through the book that will most likely have all the answers they need to finding the Apple. All she needed to do is find the clue, and once they solve it, it'll be an easy trip to its location. The problem however is that after reading the book it was not only helpful whatsoever, the book wasn't even at all relevant to anything with the Apple. Then she gets the idea to use her Eagle vision and reread the book. This time she found various words throughout the book that were highlighted for her. So now she finally found a lead to reading the map. She went through the book again and this time wrote all of the words down on a separate piece of paper which is... I don't really know what it was going to be honestly. but the premise of the message was that only people with silver eyes can read the map because only they were capable of wielding the artifact properly. That bit of information finally gave Evie the clue she needed, Ruby was the one who could read it. That's what made her so special in regards to the Apple.
Evie and Jacob had to now explain everything in more detail at this point to Ruby and everyone else who they had no choice but to bring them all involved, and to explain Ruby's power with her eyes. It was obviously an information overload for her but Ruby was able to process it all before finally taking a look at the map. Only one area was marked on the map she looked at, and what she told the group was shocking to say the least... Achievement City Island.
That's right! Achievement City eventually becomes the final place for the adventure in Remnant. The idea came to me a long time ago, back when I first made this story and used Achievement City as a stupid backstory for Evie and Jacob to tell people. Around the same time I also needed a place for the Apple of Eden to be placed in Remnant, but I wanted it to actually be interesting. At the time of making the story, Volume 4 of RWBY hadn't even come out yet so I was very limited of locations to even write down for the twins to possibly visit outside of Vale. So I figured it would be an interesting idea to put the Apple in the same location that I already made canon in the story. The original idea however was going to be Evie and Jacob end up taking RWBY and JNPR with them and trying to find a way to keep their lie about being from Achievement City going while taking them to their supposed home town. Oh and also, when they visit the island and eventually have a big boss fight with them and Salem and her team, I was planning on Ryan Haywood betraying both the twins and his friends as it was going to be a plot twist where he's working with Salem and is an Evil prick... How ironic that would've been huh?
So anyway back to the story. All of them make their way to Achievement City now that they know the Apple is here somewhere. Once they arrived they meet the locals of the City, the Achieve-Men, who welcome them with open arms since they rarely get visitors. It would really just be a long chapter of everybody getting to know the locals, mostly just a lot of references to the guys of Achievement Hunter in general, and maybe everyone playing various games they've created like Wipeout, arrow roulette, minesweeper, etc. Nothing specific to add other than a lot of jokes, but I was however going to have a funny segment where Jacob and Evie are the only people who understand Gavin using British slang like Gaff and whatnot. Oh and if anybody is wondering, the Achievement City Island would be everything that is inside the boundaries of the original world before the world had expanded past the borders.
Eventually, they'll find the Apple, which I wasn't too sure where exactly to put it in Achievement city. the 2 idea's I narrowed it down to would have been inside of the Alter of Pimps, or inside of an underground stronghold that the Achieve-Men never found before. But at the same time, Salem and her whole team, as well as all the Grimm she could muster up, ended up attacking Achievement City Island. It was a lot but the Twins, RWBY, JNPR, and the Achieve-Men all worked together to fight them off... well, almost all of the Achieve-Men. Ryan Haywood ended up betraying them all and had been in contact with Salem, because his motive was to take over the whole island and become King.
It sounds lazy of me, but I don't really want to go into so much detail of this final battle, even for a brief summary, but you can imagine how the fight goes. The group is able to kill Ryan, as well as Jack the Ripper, and possibly Cinder and even ore possibly another member of the inner circle. it's also close timing but they were able to get the Apple before Salem could get it, and was able to use it in a way to get Salem off the Island, but they think she's dead at this point which would end up becoming a plot twist at the very end of the story and become a cliffhanger for possibly another story... a story that most likely will have never been worked on anyway so there's no need to go into explanation about that one. But anyway after dealing with Salem, they then had to find a way to deal with all the Grimm. That's when Geoff has the idea to lure them all into the main part of the city and activate plan G to kill them all. They kill all the Grimm but in the process destroys all their houses. Once everything calmed down and the enemies finally retreated Jacob was going to say "Thank you so much Geoff... Sorry about sacrificing your city" Then Geoffs response would be "Oh that? don't worry we'll get Matt and Jeremy to fix that"
Jacob and Evie finally get the Apple. They bring it back to Beacon to give to Beacon and finally, since they need the Apple to return home, use it to return home. But not before saying their final goodbyes to their friends and loved ones that they got to know so well. They all hated the idea of them leaving but they had no choice, since everyone back on Earth think they've been dead for months. They all got to say their goodbyes and the twins did the same, before finally being sent back home. the story would end with the twins getting back in touch with their friend Henry and the other assassins, hoping to find a way to somehow explain to them where they were this whole time after being presumed dead.
And that's the end of The Aura of Death. I personally don't like the idea of summarizing the rest of this story but since I won't be typing out anymore chapters, this was the best alternative option to give the readers some satisfaction in getting to know the full story I've had in my head for years now at this point. Hopefully you all liked this along with the story as a whole. Despite the long breaks I took between story writing, I had a lot of fun making these chapters and I love seeing how many viewers are reading each chapter. I can see why long time fanfic writers love to do this type of stuff. I wish I could have the time to keep doing it but unfortunately I can't do it... But that's about it really. Thanks again for reading everyone!
