Anakin, Darth Vader, was held by the arm by an Alderanian soldier. Or guard, if they were 'a peaceful society.' Vader's reign over the galaxy was over, and it was a short one.
That was - humiliating, though. After all he had done - he would not lie to himself; he was the powerful force user or any person in skill - except for Yoda, if he was still alive.
He had literally packed the temple, killing dozens of Jedi, Master Shaak Ti and Cin Drallig. And now he had murdered the Emperor.
But this was what it had come to. True trials were not supposed to be glorious or grandiose, contrary to what Jedi including himself believed.
He easily could have escaped, but he did not want to.
He was firmly seated onto a chair on the Alderanian Vessel.
"I am going to schedule a trial, Skywalker."
Anakin finally spoke.
"Are you really sad that the Emperor is gone, Senator?"
Organa looked at the officers and soldiers. All of them were loyal to him and his vision; nevertheless, he issued a cautious response.
"My personal or political beliefs towards a figure are irrelevant. Yet a murder of a head of state must be answered for.
"Palpatine's measures… the reorganisation of the Republic, was illegal, in my eyes, and certainly your actions - a mass murder of innocent people of an organisation loyal to the Republic and dedicated to peace are acts of heinous crime."
Anakin did deign to answer; there was nothing to say. He may have realised the truth and turned away from evil, but he still had the dignity not to go out on a whole fuse and apologise. In any case, such a pathetic display would bring back out the suffering of those he harmed - those who were harmed by the Sith. HE would keep the shame and guilt to himself, and accept the justice meted out to him.
"I have retrieved Padme and Ahsoka from Eriadu with Obi-Wan's assistance."
"How are they!" Anakin immediately asked.
"Well there is good news," Organa said impassively "Ahsoka is making a good recovery, she will be conscious never soon."
"But there's also bad or perhaps worse news - Padme's delivery seems to be premature. The operation must be performed immediately."
The stomach of Anakin Skywalker lurked. Everything - He lost the mother he loved, and he feared losing the wife he loved, the visions that tormented him for weeks. Would it all come to pass? Had he any choice to stop anything? He tried to - using means that would push Padme further away. They anyway were a fallacious hope. He would never go down that route again, no matter what would happen. Padme meant everything to him, and her beliefs must be respected and revered. And something would come out of them both - a new life. He was finally concerned about the child, the true legacy of the woman he loved, and who professed he was worthy of love back.
