Chapter 4
"Alright, young Midoriya… let's see it!"
All Might spoke with a wide grin, making Izuku nod his head in understanding as the two of them stood facing each other on their usual training ground.
As the sun started to slowly raise over the horizon, so did the red veins that spread across Izuku's entire body. The young man balled his hands into fists and gritted his teeth, straining the muscles of his limbs as he bent over and began to build up energy within him using One for All, allowing it to flow through his whole body.
"One for All: Full Cowl!"
Izuku cried out and stood straight up, throwing his arms to the side and unleashing his energy, blowing up the sands around him with a strong gust of wind as large bolts of green electricity flared around him.
"Hoh, you look pretty cool right now, young Midoriya." All Might cheered with his signature grin while eyeing his successor. "It feels like you have grown even stronger than yesterday. How much power do you think you are using?"
"I believe it is around 5 to 7 percent, All Might." Midoriya answered as he focused on keeping the energy flow steadily throughout his entire body without interruptions.
It had been 2 weeks since the day he tested the incomplete Full Cowl for the first time during the first session of Kuoh's fundamental hero training class, and not a single day since then that he had stopped training to perfect this form while constantly increasing his upper limit.
It seemed he had even been practicing air chair exercises during class to train his muscles without moving.
'Incredible. The boy has already gotten this far with just 2 weeks of training. Is this because of One for All, or is this secretly his hidden potential?'
All Might thought to himself seriously, inclining toward the latter possibility more because he could not help but have the feeling that Izuku's abnormal growth had nothing to do with the Quirk that he had passed on to him.
The boy worked hard, far harder than how All Might had expected him to, considering that he had school as well every day, having been training nonstop to get his body stronger. Not only that, it normally did not take it long for Izuku to figure out the problems that he had, and come up with the solutions to fix them almost right away.
And although he still had some difficulties, Izuku was also a quick learner, capable of absorbing everything that All Might taught him like a sponge, from the knowledges that he had accumulated over the years being the Symbol of Hope, to the hand to hand combat techniques to fight with.
It also appeared Izuku had been going through his old hero notebooks and watching the video recordings of the top heroes who specialized in high speed and close ranged combat to find inspirations so he could improve his own fighting style and techniques. He had yet to make any progress so far since he had only just started, besides possibly some punching moves while incorporating the speed of Full Cowl, which were actually quite similar to his own special moves, but it would only be a matter of time before Izuku surprised him with something new.
If he did not know any better, then he would have thought that he had picked the best possible candidate to be his successor and the next Symbol of Hope.
"I am ready, All Might!" Izuku suddenly spoke up with burning determination in his green eyes, snapping All Might out of his own train of thoughts.
"Good, come on then, my boy! I will try to move as slow as I can as always." With a wide grin, the number one pro hero raised his hand and made a taunting come over gesture with it, making Izuku lower his body down to ready himself to shoot forward.
"Yes!"
With that said, Izuku shot forward, blowing up the sand under his feet.
"Texas Smash!"
"Not bad, kid. But you need to do better."
All Might laughed as he simply sidestepped and dodged Izuku, making his punch miss by an inch. Quickly recovering, Izuku spun around and put both of his feet down, bending his knees to launch himself back at All Might while bringing his fist back to uppercut him.
"Detroit Smash!"
"Whoosh!"
"Delaware Smash!"
"Ranged technique? Not bad, young Midoriya!"
However, just like last time, All Might did not have any problem dodging his palm attack, his hand reaching into his pocket to bring out a comb and use it to brush the sand out of his hair, the grin never leaving his face. Again, Izuku shot at him with a right hook, but All Might dodged without looking, and chopped his back to send him crashing face first into the sand.
For the next hour, the two went on training like that. Although there were people walking up early in the morning and going for a job around the beach, they could hardly see anything at all due to the huge cloud of sand that were blown up around the number one pro hero as Izuku shot around his teacher, whose lightning fast dodging movements generated strong gusts of winds in themselves, and tried to land a blow on him.
THE HIGHSCHOOL HERO
Once he was done training with All Might, Izuku bid the man goodbye and wasted no time to return home, sneaking into his room as quietly as possible to pretend that he never left, since his mother still had no idea the he woke up at 3 in the morning to train with All Might.
As guilty as he felt doing this without telling his mother, he did not want to make her feel worried, and it was also something that he had to do, because the early morning was the only time of the day that Izuku had to train seriously with All Might and hone his skills in fighting, while the rest of the day was mostly just physical exercises. He needed to make the most out of his schedule every day to have the time for everything, since he still had school and needed to spend time studying as well. Not only was it because he did not want to fall behind in classes, but he also needed a good academic record to be able to get into Yuuei University in three years.
"Here's your lunch, Izuku."
"Thank you, kaa-chan!" Izuku said, smiling gratefully at his mother before taking his bento box from her, which was wrapped neatly in a green cloth with the face of a grinning All Might on top of it.
Putting the lunch box into his backpack, Izuku then left his home and started going to school, running off while waving goodbye to his mother, who smiled gently at him and did the same before heading back into the house. Turning a corner, the young man leaned his head back a little and looked at his house to make sure that his mother could no longer see him before turning back and building up some power to leap into the air, landing gracefully on the rooftop of a nearby building.
Setting his destination, Izuku activated Full Cowl and ran, jumping from rooftop to rooftop and using electric posts to cross large gaps between buildings on opposite sides of the streets. Moving in this manner would not do much to help him increase his upper limit, but it let him train his eyes and get used to his current speed, honing his reflex and decisiveness. It would not mean much if he could move incredibly fast but did not know where he was going, what he was attacking or what was going on around him.
Arriving at Kuoh academy, Izuku hopped off the last rooftop and landed on the street just outside of the gate, surprising some students who were hanging around the area by his sudden arrival before exhaling and powering down to walk normally into school.
"There is nowhere for you to run from us, you perverted bastards!"
"Someone, help us!"
Before Izuku could start making his way to his classroom, a series of screams caught his attention and made him turn his head to the side to look, his eyes widening in surprise when he saw the infamous Perverted Trio running toward him, appearing to be chased by a the members of the kendo club, led by Katase and Murayama, the co-captains of the club.
"Izuku, help!"
"Gwahh!"
Issei cried out and dove behind Izuku along with his two friends just in time for them to dodge a fireball, blast of water, and strong gusts of winds that all ended up zooming past Izuku, who cried out in surprise as he dodged them by ducking his head down. His eyes then widened even further, when he saw Katase, who appeared to have tried to hit Issei after using her Quirk to jump really high into the air to quickly close the distance between them, swinging her shinai down toward him, gasping when she saw where her wooden weapon was going, but realized she could not stop in time.
Lucky for her, Izuku reacted instantly, his body crackling with green bio-electricity as he shot his hands up and caught the blade by clapping his hand together before it struck him, leaving Katase slightly awestruck. At the same time, the other members of the kendo club stopped and looked at Izuku, giving the perverted trio the chance to run away from them again.
"Sorry, Izuku! Catch up with you later!" Issei cried out as he scrambled away with his two friends.
"Hey! Where do you think you are going? After them!" Murayama cried out.
"I am really sorry, Midoriya-kun." Pulling her weapon back, Katase apologized to Izuku while bowing her head repeatedly to him as her friends ran past the two of them.
"Ah, please don't be too worried about it, senpai." Izuku said while waving his hand in front of him. Since hero candidates were all pretty popular among students at Kuoh academy, he was not surprised that Katase, a girl that he had never interacted with, knew his name and apologized to him so formally.
Before the pink haired young woman could say anything in response to Izuku, a friend of hers ran past them, but stopped momentarily for a second to tell Katase. "Come on, Katase-taicho! We can still catch up to them!"
"Of course." Katase said firmly while nodding her head, before looking over to Izuku and telling him with an encouraging smile "I gotta go now. Make sure to try your best as well in your hero classes, okay, hero?"
"Y-Yes, thank you, senpai."
Izuku said while bowing his head repeatedly to Katase, who then ran past him herself and leaped into the air again to rejoin her fellow members of the kendo club.
'Katase-senpai and the girls of the kendo club sure are scary. But I guess they do have good reason to be angry at Issei-senpai and his friends. They were probably at it again.' Izuku thought to himself, sweat dropping nervously as he looked over his shoulder while walking toward the school building and watched as the kendo club continued to chase after Issei and his brothers in arms.
If anything, they were all lucky that there was no one with super speed Quirks in the kendo club, or they would have been dead meat.
Once they had disappeared behind a school building, Izuku then turned back, and found himself facing a radiantly beaming Ochako Uraraka, which was so sudden that the dark green haired boy ended up getting frozen right on the spot.
"Good morning, Deku-kun!"
"U-Uraraka-chan!" Izuku exclaimed, his face going red in embarrassment after realizing how close the two of them were, causing him to flinch and back away while Ochako just tilted her head to the side in slight confusion.
Even after two weeks of constantly hanging out with her inside and outside of classes while they were at her, Izuku still could not stop himself from getting embarrassed whenever she did something like that so casually and cheerfully.
"G-Good morning, Uraraka-chan!" Izuku managed after collecting himself, face still slightly red from embarrassment. "H-how are you today?"
"I am great. I am stoked for our hero class today." Ochako answered while swinging her first excitedly. "It is the day that we get to choose our hero name and receive our prototype costume."
"Oh yeah. I almost forgot about that." Izuku admitted honestly.
If All Might did not remind him of it earlier that morning, having shown the man a sketch of his desired costume a few days back before, then he would not remember that it would be the day he and his classmates received their costumes that were created based on their own designs. The outfits were said to be created by the students of the Yuuei University's support department, using their sketches for looks and the data that the teachers had been able to collect over the past two weeks of studying and showcasing the powers of their Quirks for utilities.
Today would also be the day that they finally got to choose their hero name, the name that they would be known for for the rest of their pro hero career by the community. While it was not entirely necessary to have a codename to keep their civilian identity a secret with how much pro hero had evolved as a profession, it was still crucial for one to pick a name for themselves, because it would project their natures and heroing style, something that the community paid lots of attention to.
Izuku himself used to think a lot about his hero name when he was little, creating a lot of names that were inspired by his idol, All Might. Looking back then as he was now, those names really sounded a bit too silly to be used publicly.
Not to mention that All Might had also warned him of the overwhelming pressure that would come taking on a name that was similar to his to himself. It was the kind of pressure that could make or break a hero, but only have negative impacts on someone as young as he was. Being acknowledged by All Might or not, Izuku was well aware of the fact that he was still a 15 years old kid, and he was still far from ready for a pro hero career, let alone being the next Symbol of Hope carrying the name of All Might with him.
"Uhmm, Izuku-kun, you are mumbling to yourself again." Ochako suddenly interrupted him, tapping her finger on his shoulder to get his attention, making Izuku widen his eyes slightly at her with a nervous smile, hoping that he did not mumble out anything that Ochako was supposed to not know about.
"S-sorry, Uraraka-chan. So uh…" Embarrassed, he decided to change the subject, as the two of them made their way to their class together "Have you chosen a name for yourself, Uraraka-chan?"
"Of course, I have been thinking about it all week, you know."
"What is it going to be then? It must be something awesome and related to gravity, no?"
"Yes, but it is a secret as well, Deku-kun." Ochako winked at him, making Izuku laugh nervously before nodding his head in agreement. The two then continued to chat pleasantly about their daily life, but their conversation ended abruptly by the time that they reached their classroom.
"Get the hell away from me, you bitch!"
"Come on now, Bakugou. Lemme get your measurements, I am sure that I can build you a badass baby to help you fly using the explosions of your Quirks."
"I can fly just fine on my own, bitch!"
"Aaahaha, what's wrong, Katsuki? You are scared of having a girl touch you?"
"Shut the fuck up, you goddamn extra! You wanna fucking die?"
And of course, what came after those exchanges were the sound of an explosion as Bakugou tried to hit Monoma Neito with a blast from the palm of his hand, only for the other blond to sidestep him, tap his neck to copy his Quirk and unleash the same attack to knock him away with a taunting smirk. Bakugou did not falter, however, and snarled angrily before twirling around to try to attack Monoma again, who chose to not back down as well and came at Bakugou with the power that he had copied.
"Oi! That is enough!"
"Yeah, you two will destroy this whole school if you unleash that kind of firepower here!"
"Lemme go, you bastards!'
Bakugou shouted angrily while he was being held back by two of his classmates Denki Kaminari and Eijiro Kirishima, whose Hardening Quirk allowed him to hold back the angered Bakugou without much problem. At the same time, Itsuka Kendo enlarged her right hand and grabbed the manically laughing Monoma before dragging him back toward her to karate chop his neck with her left, causing him to stop laughing and drop on his face, lying in a dramatic pose with his ass in the air.
"Everyone sure is lively today." Izuku commented with a nervous chuckle, as Ochako cheerfully skipped into the room and took her seat next to their classmate, Koneko Toujou, who was eating some sweets at her table while remaining silent and mostly ignoring everyone as usual.
"Good morning, Kone…"
Before Ochako could finish her greeting, Koneko extended a box with two cupcakes at her, interrupting Ochako and making the brown haired girl widen her eyes slightly in surprise.
"You haven't eaten breakfast, have you?" The cute mascot of Kuoh academy asked simply and nonchalantly. Ochako looked like she wanted to deny it, but her stomach picked that moment to grumble, making the perpetual blush on her cheek redden even further. "Eat these. And stop skipping breakfast to save money."
"Ah… t-thank you, Koneko-chan." Ochako laughed awkwardly in embarrassment while scratching the back of her head, before accepting the cupcakes from Koneko and sitting down to eat it.
Before Izuku could walk to his seat himself, he was suddenly stopped by Mei, who suddenly stepped in front of him and stuck her face at his to look dead at him from behind her steampunk goggles. The smile that she had earlier as she tried to convince Bakugou to let her create an equipment for him had not left her face, and while Izuku could not see her eyes from behind the lens of her goggles, he could not help but have a feeling that she was studying him.
With a Quirk that allowed her to make her vision zoom in on whatever was in her line of sight, Izuku knew she might as well be.
"Umm, can… can I help you, Hatsume-san?"
"Ignore her, Izuku." A classmate of theirs who did not participate in hero training classes spoke up to Izuku while waving his hand at Mei, who continued to stare at Izuku while rubbing her chin in a thoughtful manner. "You guys getting your costumes today got her all worked up. She is being even worse than her daily self."
"There is nothing wrong with me trying to advertise my babies! The Kuoh hero tournament is in 2 weeks. If even one of the candidates uses my babies and does well, then it will be a big win for me! Supporting heroes are us supporters' way of being heroes, you know." Mei shouted back enthusiastically before she turned back to Izuku and finally spoke to him. "Neh neh, Izuku-kun… I have been watching you closely during our training classes."
"Eh?" Izuku gasped slightly in surprise. That just pretty much confirmed his suspicion.
What Mei then said next caused the whole class to turn completely silent.
"You know what is the conclusion that I came to yesterday? I think your Quirk is pretty similar, if not the same as All Might's."
"!" Izuku felt his heart drop to his stomach, his hair sticking up as he went into panic mode in record time, realizing that the whole class was now looking at him. At the same time, his mind went haywire like how Kaminari fried his brain with his power trying to figure out a reason to deny it. "N-No way! Hahaha, you are too… kind, Hatsume-san. There is no way that my Quirk… ahaha, can be as awesome as All Might's."
"I mean, now that you mention it. It does look similar from time to time." Kirishima pointed out, with many students nodding their heads in agreement while Bakugou just scoffed in annoyance "Man, I am kinda jealous of that kind of enhancer type…"
"Does not matter!" Mei interrupted enthusiastically as she brought out a standee and set it up in a blink of an eye before Izuku, whose eyes widened when he saw a drawn picture of himself wearing lots of gears around his whole body, alongside paragraph after paragraph of notes and data Mei had made about them. "Look here, Izuku. This is my own idea for your costume. Sorry that I could not show you this last week as we gave our costume designs to Takeyama-sensei. I did not have enough data back then."
"Wow, I cannot even understand half of these." Kaminari muttered in amazement as he and Kirishima grouped up behind Izuku, who leaned closer to the picture of himself and checked out all the pieces of equipment that he was wearing.
It was an awesome sketch, but Izuku could hardly find any use for most of the equipment Mei had given him, finding them completely unnecessary when he put his own knowledge of One for All into consideration.
Although, Izuku had to admit that a couple of those equipment kinda made sense from the outlook of someone who did not know much about the Quirk like Mei.
"Just ignore all the notes and numbers, they are for me." Mei tapped the standee with a steel pointer stick "But basically, what these gears do is…"
"Hatsume-san… why do you have me wear these boots?" Izuku suddenly asked, interrupting Mei as he pointed his finger at the pair of combat boots that he was wearing in the picture. It seemed that the soles were made of iron or steel.
"Oh, how glad I am to hear you ask! Listen up, Izuku… aside from reducing the cost of buying new shoes for you once every few days because of your speed, those babies will also maximize the strength of your kicks just in case you want to branch yourself away from All Might. He normally only punches, does he not?" Mei asked while excitedly punching the air in front of her. "Averagely, the legs are able to push roughly four times as much weight as the arms can pull, so I have been wondering why…"
But the rest of Mei's explanation did not get to Izuku, as his mind paused momentarily for a split second as an idea struck him like a full speed train. Without wasting even a second, Izuku then rushed past the enthusiastic inventor to sit down at his table and pulled out his notebook along with a pencil to start drawing and scripting the idea down while mumbling incoherently, creeping the students around him and making them back away nervously.
"While Izuku is at it… if anyone else wants to have a breakthrough like him, then feel free to raise your hands. I have all the ideas in the world for your costumes prepared here!" Mei declared excitedly, bringing out from her backpack the rolled up pictures of other students before looking around the room "Anyone? Anyone? Anyone? Come on now, don't be shy! Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?"
But sadly for Mei, no one raised their hands.
Despite it all, however, she kept on smiling enthusiastically and encouraged her classmate to ask her, her head brimming with the ideas to create even more of her 'babies'.
"I think this is it." Izuku said, tearing the note off of his notebook and taking one final look at it to make sure that he had gotten everything down before looking at Mei "Hatsume-san, how much is a piece of equip… I mean, one of your babies?"
"I will make it for you for free, Izuku, if you promise me that you will wear my baby to the tournament in 2 weeks." Mei answered excitedly as she rushed over to Izuku so fast that the boy thought she had Full Cowl herself. "Lemme see it then."
"Here you go." Izuku said, and handed the note over to Mei, who then took off her goggles to take an even better look at it. "What do you think? Are they possible? I think I can add them to my costume."
"Hmm… I kinda like them. Not bad, Izuku." Mei nodded, while Kaminari and Kirishima tried to peak over her shoulders to see what were on the notes "You certainly have decent knowledge in the gears and equipment of the pros, don't you? With designs like these, you would make a fine member of the Support class."
"T-thank you… I guess…" Now that Mei had mentioned it, Izuku could not help but wonder if he would have a future as a hero being a supporter if All Might had never met him and passed on OFA to him. The idea of inventing gadgets and crafting equipment for the pro heroes that he idolized did not sound too bad, all things considered, as Mei had said so herself, supporting heroes was her way of being a hero.
"I do not have any materials right now to make these babies, so do you mind waiting till our hero class later this afternoon?"
"Of course not, Hatsume-san!"
"Great!"
Soon after that, Mei returned to her seat and started making the blueprints for the equipment Izuku had requested of her, looking even more enthusiastic as she had been before as she worked. The first class of general education, Math, began soon after that, with the rest of the students of class 1-A filling in all the empty seats before the bell rang, allowing their homeroom teacher to start their first lesson of the day.
THE HIGHSCHOOL HERO
"Sup, Izuku!"
"Oh, hey, Issei-senpai!" Izuku acknowledged the upperclassman with a smile.
It was lunch break, and at the moment, Izuku was sitting on a bench outside of the new school building waiting for Ochako, who had gone to the cafeteria to buy her own lunch, to return.
"How…" Izuku was about to ask how his day went after what happened earlier, but Issei interrupted him by reaching his hand into the bag that he was carrying and bringing out a bottle of energy drink, which he then extended toward him.
"My apology for what happened this morning." Issei said with a chuckle "Sorry for almost dragging you into our mess."
Izuku shook his head and said while waving his hand in front of him, "Don't worry about it, senpai. You really don't have to."
"I want to, hero…" Issei replied to him with a genuine grin, which was completely different from the lecherous smile that Izuku had seen him making while spying on girls in general PE class. "Can I sit here with you for a bit?"
"Sure, senpai."
"Where is that lively girl you usually hang out with?" Issei asked, looking genuinely interested "Ura- something, right? Are you guys dating?"
"D-Dating!? N-no! Of course not, senpai! Uraraka-chan and I are just friends!" Izuku exclaimed in denial, his face blushing beat red in embarrassment. There was no way that he could even picture himself dating a girl as cute and amazing as Ochako.
Successor of All Might or not, in his eyes, Izuku Midoriya still viewed himself as a loser.
"Ahaha, relax, Izuku! I am only messing with you." Issei laughed humorously, making Izuku breathe out a sigh in relief "For a future pro hero, you sure get freaked out easily, don't you? You gotta work on that confidence of yours a little."
"Easy for you to say, senpai." Izuku murmured with a nervous smile. Deciding to try changing the subject, Izuku then turned to Issei and asked him something that he had been meaning to "Oh, senpai, I have wanted to ask you for a while now… but what is your Quirk? I don't think I have ever seen you use it before."
"You mean I should have used my Quirk whenever I get chased down by angry kendo girls, don't you?" Issei asked, which Izuku responded by shrugging his shoulders. "Here, watch this!"
Grinning, Issei then shot up and extended his right arm forward, making Izuku look on in anticipation. Then, in a flash of bright green light, a red gauntlet with a large green jewel appeared on his arm, which made Izuku gasp in amazement, having never seen a Quirk like it before in his life.
"This is my Quirk, Dragon Arm!" Issei announced proudly as he held the gauntlet above his head and struck a heroic pose "If you ask everyone but the first year in our school, they will tell you that my Quirk makes me stronger the more excited I become. It was only recently that I found out that the ability is only the byproduct of this gauntlet."
"I see… Don't think I have ever heard of a Quirk like yours before." Izuku pointed out in amazement, making Issei flinch slightly but then exhaled in relief when Izuku dropped the matter and continued, bringing out from his jacket a notebook "But it is so cool regardless. You call it Dragon Arm? Does that mean that you are similar to the Dragoon pro hero, Ryukyu? Can you turn into a dragon as well, senpai?"
"I mean… I have no idea. As I said, it was only recently that I discovered that I had this arm… but I will see if I can turn my whole body into a dragon in the future." Issei declared with a determined grin, not noticing Izuku noting down everything that he had just heard as well as the theories about Issei's Quirk that he had just made in his mind into his notebook.
"Yo, Issei, what the hell are you doing there?" A voice then interrupted him, causing Issei to turn around to see his two brothers in arms, Matsuda and Motohama, looking at him while standing near the teachers office "Are you flexing that new Dragon Arm of yours to a pro hero candidate? Seriously?!"
"Shut up! You guys wish your Quirks are as cool as mine!" Issei shouted back loudly, making Matsuda and Motohama shrug their shoulders at each other "Anyway, I have to go now, Izuku. Catch up with you later, and please accept this."
Issei then spoke to Izuku, putting the bottle of energy drink down the bench beside the first year and left with his two friends before Izuku could try to give it back.
"Deku-kun, sorry to keep you waiting." Ochako called out to him as she hopped down the steps and landed next to him, beaming radiantly as she showed him the lunch that she had bought, a sandwich "The line was quite long, so I had to wait for a bit."
"Don't worry, Uraraka-chan. Let's eat!"
THE HIGHSCHOOL HERO
"How do they feel, Izuku? Comfortable?" Mei asked while beaming at Izuku, watching him as he put on the gears that she had made for him. While the other students of hero training classes had gathered on the school yard, wearing the costume that had been handed to them earlier, Mei and Izuku were still standing under the staircase of the new school building, where Mei had put together his gears using the materials that she had grabbed from the Workshop of the academy.
"Yes, Hatsume-san." Izuku nodded his head with a small smile, testing the movements and flexibility a bit by repeatedly closing and opening his hands while jumping up and down.
"Great! Let's go then, Izuku." Mei beamed, before she ran ahead of him to group up with the rest of their class.
Much like the other students, she was wearing her own costume, even though hers were only the PE uniform and a number of different gadgets, including a utility belt to hold the various tools she always carried around, a pair of oversized speed-assisting boots, and what could possibly be a jetpack strung over her shoulders.
Nodding to himself, Izuku followed Mei and left the spot, emerging before the other students of the Fundamental hero training class wearing his own hero costume, consisting of a bright green jumpsuit with a red belt, beige shoulder pads and knee pads that reached up to his thighs. The jumpsuit also came with a hood like mask with long ear-like protrusions and a respirator with a makeshift smile that reflected All Might's signature haircut and smile.
The gears that Mei had created for him, meanwhile, included a pair of light tinted beige gloves decorated with blue stripes, matching colored bracers that extended up to his elbows, and a pair of black combat boots with metal soles.
"Oh wow, Deku-kun. Your outfit looks so cool and practical!"
Seeing Izuku finally joining them, Ochako rushed over to her friend and praised his look with a bright smile.
"Whoa!" Izuku found himself gasping in amazement behind his respirator, feeling thankful that he had put it on along with his mask or Ochako would have seen his blushing face.
Ochako was wearing her hero costume, which consisted of a black, rather skin tight full-body suit with a pale pink design down the middle of her torso, topped with two black semi-spheres on her chest, pink stripes starting at her midsection, a deep pink choker, and two-toned pink sleeves with cuffs. It also had matching pale and deep pink colored accessories, including round gauntlets with handles, chunky, knee-high boots, and a two-piece belt with a round buckle.
"You also look really cool, Urara… I mean, Uravity!" Izuku praised, using the hero name Ochako had chosen for herself earlier during their first hero training class of the afternoon.
"You think so. I think it is kind of embarrassing." Ochako admitted while smiling nervously "I wish I had drawn my sketch a little better. I need my costume to be a bit tight to stimulate my acupuncture points and help with my nausea, but I guess I did not specify enough."
Izuku could only nod his head a couple in response, unable to get over how much the outfit was showing her amazing figure.
But then again, there was also Momo Yaoyorozu, whose hero costume was pretty much a red swimsuit with some extra accessories.
"By the way, Deku-kun… is it alright for you to pick the name Deku as your hero name?" Ochako suddenly asked, making Izuku look at her in surprise behind his mask. "I know that I told you the name gave off a 'never giving up' vibe to me, but it is still an in…"
"Ah, it's fine, Uraraka-chan." Izuku shook his head and interrupted her "I have always been known as a Deku all my life, and before meeting you I also did not like it at all. You changed the meaning of the word for me. It made me so happy because… I am no longer known as the worthless Deku, but the Deku whose vibe is never giving up. That is what I want to aim for as a pro hero starting from now on."
"Deku-kun…" Ochako spoke up softly while smiling at her friend.
Indeed, it was the day that the hero Deku was born.
But at the same time, halfway across Kuoh town, a certain oppai loving pervert had his first meeting with a certain blonde haired nun, who he helped get to a local church in town.
Little did he know that the act of kindness would change the world of heroes and villains, devils, fallen angels and angels, gods and dragons… forever.
End of chapter 4
Note: and that is it for this chapter! Took a bit longer than the previous chapters to get this one out, but it was long so I hope the length made up for the delay time.
I hope that the story is not progressing too slowly for your taste, as I want to spend a couple of chapters setting up the world, and building the relationship between chapter. Starting from the next chapter the first arc will begin, and as you can clearly see it will be an DxD arc. It will not be too long, but you will see so much more actions than the past few chapters.
The hero costume Izuku is wearing in this chapter is a mixed of his first hero costume (with the jumpsuit being sewn by his mother, the All Might hairstyle mask and the weird smiling respirator) and the gears of the Delta costume made by Mei so he can utilize his Shoot Style much earlier than canon MHA, which is suggested by Mei in this story (I also paid homemade to that pic of Izuku riding on a flying vehicle alongside Mei. I was told that the support class would have been his hero profession if he did not meet All Might. I could be wrong though).
I don't want to give Izuku his full Delta costume just yet, cause it will take away the meaning of the first jumpsuit that his mother made for him. I also really like his Epsilon Costume (the one that give him the dark, vigilante look in canon), so I guess I have to figure out a realistic reason for him to wear such outfit. Any suggestions?
I also think that at this point everyone has realized that I am gonna give Izuku dragon heritage, which has begun to show signs of in this chapter (his abnormal growth and adaptation – anyone who read Origami Fighter will know what I am talking about). The dragon heritage and the abilities to access to Senjutsu, Touki and magic… alongside OFA should be more enough to allow him to hold his own against the endgame, later enemies of DxD canon, as this dragon bloodline of his would keep on evolving with OFA. I am still considering on the Sacred Gear though, but maybe he doesn't need it.
Or I can make up a sacred gear that is not too powerful, but work well with Izuku's analytical mind. A lot of readers has been suggesting Annihilation Maker, but it is still a top tier Longinus and I don't think work well with OFA (maybe the ability to create bodies for his predecessors as many have mentioned, but that is about it for Annihilation Makers I can think of. I am not gonna give Izuku something that he does not need to go down with to the end when he still has lots of other things to work on.)
On a side note though, Divine Dividing fit awfully well with Izuku. It makes a strong counterbalance to his friendship with Issei, and not to mention that DD's abilities work really well with how I planned to use OFA alongside his dragon heritage. HMMMM….
And another thing that I wish to be clear about. I WILL NOT make Hisashi, Izuku's father, a dragon king or a dragon of a significant status with unique powers and abilities that can be inherited by Izuku. That would just take away the core of his character which I tries to keep myself from straying too far away, and that is the current wielder of OFA. At best, I will make Hisashi a decent dragon warrior of his own, but not at all powerful like the likes of Tannin.
There will be so much more stuffs to write, and developments for me to work on if Izuku's dragon heritage has a modest start (which is already a BIG modest start to begin with, since Dragons are the strongest creatures in the world of DxD. Even the weakest are really strong already.) but gradually evolved by OFA into something incredible, which I think is the beauty of.
And that's it! As always, I hope that everyone has had a great time reading this story and this chapter in particular. From the next chapter onward I will try my best to not rant like this to keep myself from spoiling the whole story for you guys!
Make sure to drop me a review once you have finished reading! Reviews are the best type of supports that you readers can give me, so I make sure to shower me with lots of reviews and feedbacks so that I know you guys have been enjoying reading this story of mine, okay?

P/S: I hope that Issei's Quirk make sense somehow lol. I really don't know what else to give him that fit in him in the crossed world of MHA and DxD but still doesn't change his powers too much from canon.
