Klaus watched as his former body loaner, one rather confused Alaric Saltzman climbed into his SUV before finally driving away from their new hideout. Thanks to some creative phrasing the compulsion Alaric was being influenced with he would have no memory of where they had taken Elena after kidnapping her from the dance. A part of him hadn't wanted to give Elena's friends a chance to track them down, but his brother had been adamant that Elena's list be upheld. So, for now, he held his peace.

Only once the red taillights disappeared into the distance did he rejoin his brother who was stood protectively over the still unconscious Elena Gilbert.

Greta and Maddox were busy with preparing the spell that would, if it worked as his witch stated it should then the magic would fully merge Tatia and Elena souls together. And if it didn't work, then at least he had his Doppelgänger for the ritual afterwards.

"How is she?" Klaus asked just after closing the door behind him. Elena's former history teacher forgotten for now. He had a important message to deliver, a part of him was somewhat tempted to be there when it was delivered but his brother still hadn't answered his question.

"Elijah?"

His brother wasn't fully paying attention to him, which would have greatly irritated him, but the then he understood what, or more precisely who was the focus of his vigil.

"She is a beauty, I… I want to know if-"

"And what happens if she is who we think she what then, brother? I do have the Elixir and your witches have already promised to check it viability after all this time. However, as I was going to tell her the risks involved, it might not work."

Klaus glared at his brother did he think it was easy for him to do this to her? It was one thing that Elena Gilbert shared the same face that both he and Elijah fell in love with. But if Greta's spell works as promised, then could either of them lose Tatia again?

"Greta, how are your preparations going for that soul merging spell?" Klaus almost barked out before catching himself. Powerful as he was, even he knew better than to bite the hand of the witch that was working on his behalf.

It is almost ready, but I need the other Doppelgänger and, as I mentioned before this Doppelgänger here will need to be awake for the duration of my spell."

Elijah went to retrieve Katherine from the room they had sequestered her in for safekeeping. Klaus wanted to be present when Greta released his Doppelgänger from her induced slumber. He was almost beside himself as he waited for the brunette beauty to regain consciousness. It was slow at first, but the sharp intake was more than enough to announce her return to the land of wakefulness.

"I… I can't move my… my arms! BONNIE!" Elena started.

"Sorry love, can't have you running off now can we?"

While Elena couldn't move her limbs, she could with some effort move her head around until she had made eye contact with himself. There was a momentary flash of recognition, which was quickly replaced with the look of fear in those exact brown eyes he'd dreamed about for centuries.

"Nik… Klaus! Wh… What did you do to Bonnie?!"

Klaus hid his reaction, by how she almost addressed him was far better than he expected. He absolutely hated the name his parents had given him. He much preferred the moniker he was must have known for, but even that paled to the very select few who called him Nik. There were only two people in existence who'd been permitted to address him so informally.

"You friend is perfectly safe as is all other friends and immediate family for the time being."

He watched as she glanced around the unfamiliar surroundings. From his own exploration so far, it would do for now.

"Where am I?" She demanded.

"Your safe Elena you have nothing to fear from me," Klaus spoke as calming as he could the hard glare she was aiming right back at him said otherwise.

"Why don't I believe you? I have a good idea who you are, Klaus!" Elena shot back at him. Klaus didn't bother to hide his smile, which only made the fire hiding behind her brown eyes flare even more intensely.

"Brother, this is not the proper way to entertain our lovely guest."

Klaus didn't acknowledge his brother he was more interested in observing her reaction to the revelation that Elijah and he were brothers. His suspicions were only confirmed by how her reaction changed from confusion to one of fear and then finally, anger.

"Brother!? Elijah, why didn't you tell me or was all of this part of some elaborate grand plan?" Elena asked in a accusatory voice. Klaus could almost feel the infamous Petrova fire threatening to consume them both, a brief glance at his brother he could see that Elijah might be thinking the same thing as himself.

"Love I have everything ready now do you want to proceed with the ritual or wait," Greta interrupted.

Even though she was magically restrained, his Doppelgänger tried her best to twist herself to see who other than themselves were present. Her eyes thinned to slits when she caught sight of her older duplicate but furrowed her brows in manner their beloved Tatia had done.

"She is compelled to do whatever we tell her, love. Isn't that right, Katerina?" Klaus stated with a smirk, focusing his gaze on the women who'd run from her destiny.

"Yes," Katherine answered her monotone voice was but mere music to his ears. It angered him to think how things might have gone if Elena hadn't revealed her thoughts to him thinking at the time she was confiding with her teacher.

Katherine moved to kneel next to Elena. Elena in turned looked first at Elijah then at Klaus before speaking.

"So this is it then, but don't you need the moonstone and a werewolf to complete the ritual?"

Klaus was about to speak when his brother did it for them.

"Not quite Elena. Yes this is a ritual, but my brother and I want to try something before we proceed with the one that requires a sacrifice."

Greta moved in before Elena could ask for a better explanation. With a swift slice of a knife first over Katherine's open palm followed by a similar cut on Elena's their crimson blood dripped into a copper urn. The instant their blood mixed with the candles Klaus' witches had placed about the room burst into flame. The light was almost too intense to see through even for a Original like himself. Still, he could see well enough to watch with growing anticipation.

Not wanting to he took a step back as the very air in the room became more turbulent with each passing second. Greta's chanting voice climbed as if trying to stay ahead of the raging storm. Katherine collapsed to the ground her body being buffed by the chaotic wind.

His Doppelgänger cried out and pain as her body arched up as she tried to twist free of whatever magic restraints held her in place.

The electrical lights flared in the room before electricity started to arch before plunged the room into darkness if not for the lit candles.

Then before he could formulate a question, the lights in the room returned, leaving only the distinct hint of ozone in the air. His witch collapsed bodily to the ground in a heap his every noble brother wordlessly picked her up then settled her to a nearby chair to recover.

Katherine was still unconscious he could detect by the rhythm of her heart, but his primary focus was on the latest Doppelgänger who groaned as she sat up from where Elijah had placed her earlier.

Fear gripped his heart that whatever his witch had done wouldn't work, but the moment her brown eyes met he felt something ancient awaken in his heart.

"Nik?" She asked tentatively before her gaze shifted over to where his brother stood.

"Lijah?"

"Do you know who you are? Elskan," his brother asked furtively. Klaus both appreciated his older brother taking the intuitive, but annoyed with himself that he hadn't quite gathered the nerve to speak to her first.

"YES! Sorry this might be confusing, but I'm Elena, but I'm also Tatia. Does that make any sense? I… Its like I have two sets of memories."
