It took half a day for the Cargo Ship to arrive at the shore of Sanus. Qrow, Raven, Robyn, and Clover then used the Ground Transport for a couple of hours to make some good time, but eventually stopped for the night.
"I don't like this. The link is strong right now. We should keep moving!" Raven said.
"I understand that you want to help the woman you love, Raven, but we can't run ourselves ragged on the process." Robyn said.
Raven turned to her with wide eyes. "You know?!" She asked and Robyn nodded.
"Your reactions and impatience are what gave it away."
It suddenly clicked on Qrow's mind why Raven felt so strongly about this mission. Afterwards, he mentally kicked himself in the ass for not seeing the signs sooner, even when the twins attended Beacon. Raven had always backed Summer up against bullies who doubted her leadership skills. Raven even helped Summer hold Shadow's Terror properly and trained her to use the sword. But for all that, he still had no idea why Raven spent so much time around her partner during school.
Summer and Sapphire made some progress but couldn't stop to rest long. Salem's followers circled back when the Ursa growled. Watts got the ship in hover then followed Tyrian and Hazel, who were on the ground with the Ursa as it began tracking the women.
"Keep the ship above the treeline, Doctor." Hazel said into an earpiece.
"Understood." Watts replied.
Tyrian giggled with glee. "Soon, we'll have them before the Queen again." He said to himself as the two men began to follow the Ursa.
Yang and Ruby were walking through the forest of Patch together when they saw two Grimm block their path. One was an Ursa and the other resembled a bipedal cheetah.
Though initially surprised, the two soon calmed the Grimm. The cheetah became a quadraped with red crystals as its spot and glowing red eyes while the Ursa became a typical bear with yellow crystals and glowing yellow eyes.
"They're..." Ruby started.
"...Crystal Grimm." Yang finished.
Crystal Grimm were tamed creatures created from the forms of the Grimm they're based off of. Unlike the typical Grimm, these creatures fed on positivity rather than negativity and as the name stated, they had crystal armor instead of the typical bone plating Grimm have.
Ruby looked at the cheetah. "I think I'll call you...Nova. You like that, girl?"
The feline purred and nuzzled her head on Ruby's leg in response.
"And I'll call you...Claw. How's that, boy?" Yang asked.
The bear made a content sound and Yang smiled. The four then headed to the Xiao Long household, Yang calling Tai inform him of what happened.
Blake and Lapis were in a park near Holly and Ciane's apartment with Nightshade and Fang when the two Crystal Grimm began growling with their ears flattened. Blake was confused while Lapis noticed an attempt at robbery happening nearby and stood up.
"Come, boy." He said and Fang was right at the Faunus' side as the two went to the store.
"I said, give me all your Lien! Now!" The robber said to the cashier.
A customer in the store gasped when she saw Lapis at the door with Fang. "The Defender of the Four Kingdoms is here! And he has a Crystal Grimm!"
The robber turned to the door and paled a bit.
"Easy way is you walking out of this store empty handed and turning yourself over to the authorities. Hard way is you're knocked out and dragged to the nearest police station in the teeth of my new friend here. Your choice, pal." Lapis smirked.
The robber turned his gun to Lapis, who sighed. "Why does nobody pick the easy way?" He asked himself then used his sword deflect gunshots from the robber's gun. He then whistled once and Fang jumped on top of the robber, snarling and showing his teeth. Lapis then walked to the robber and kicked him hard enough to knock him out.
Fang barked happily and Lapis smiled. "Good boy!" He said then pet Fang, who panted happily. Lapis turned to the cashier. "Did he get any?"
The cashier shook her head. Lapis nodded in response. "Fang! Catch." He said then Fang gripped the robber's shirt in his teeth then the two left the store, headed to the nearest police station.
Blake smirked and rolled her eyes while shaking her head. She then became worried again. "He has a right to know about his mom, but if she dies trying to get to him, it'll crush him." She thought to herself as she looked down, her bow keeping the cat ears it was hiding from drooping down. She sighed and Nightshade nuzzled her, a look of worry in her purple glowing eyes. "I'm okay, girl." She assured her new friend while petting her.
On the cold continent of Solitas, home of Atlas and Mantle, a young girl with fair skin, natural white hair and light blue eyes was standing looking over a mining site. A scar could be seen over her left eye. This girl wore a thigh-length strapless dress with a faint color gradation from white to pale blue at the hem. A small piece of black lace sat in the front of her neckline and the hem of the dress is scalloped and stitched to resembled snowflakes, with layers of white tulle under the skirt. Over this was a bell-sleeved bolero with the same color gradation as her dress from shoulder to wrist, lined in red and with a ruffled collar. Over the bolero was a snowflake like crest.
This was Weiss Schnee, second born to Jacques and Willow Schnee, younger sister of Winter Schnee, and older sister to Whitley Schnee. She was also the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of Remnant's largest producers of Dust.
She soon heard growling and turned to see a Tigris, a bipedal tiger like Grimm, snarling at her. Showing no fear, she set to taming it and soon succeeded and it turned into a typical tiger with white crystals as its stripes and glowing white eyes. "A fierce companion for a soon-to-be equally fierce Huntress. From now on, I'll call you Bones."
The tiger nuzzled her, chuffing. Weiss nodded. "Come along." She said then the two boarded a Schnee private ship them returned to Atlas.
Putting a considerable amount of distance between themselves and Salem's followers, Sapphire and Summer allowed themselves to stop and rest.
"First light, we pick up our trek." Summer said.
The Faunus nodded in agreement then the two got some rest.
Into Ozpin's office walked a young girl. She had pale skin, black hair to where her neck meets her shoulders, and blue eyes. She was wearing a grey tailcoat over a white tank top, grey pants, and white boots with heels.
She looked at Ozpin. "You asked for me, Daddy?" She asked.
He looked at her with a fatherly smile. "Yes, Onyx. Come in."
Onyx walked to his desk.
"I still have my concerns...but I believe it is time to continue your Huntress training...as a Beacon student." He said.
Her eyes widened in shock before she smiled widely, revealing that she had shark teeth as her Faunus trait. She jumped over the desk and hugged him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! You won't regret this, Dad! I promise!" She said then ran out of the office.
Ozpin simply chuckled, though part of him was still worried.
Steel looked at a news report that showed Lapis and Fang leaving a police in and the gears in his head began to turn.
"Darling?" He called, getting Cinder's attention.
"Hmm?" She answered.
"I think I know how to force Sapphire's cooperation. Her son is here in Vale."
"And I did a little digging. Turns out Summer has a daughter named Ruby."
"Perfect. This could work out where we get them both to do as they're told."
The two shared a smirk.
