Small AN… I forgot to say this last chapter because of how excited I was to be back, but seriously, thank you everyone so much. We've reached 7k+ views and over 70 follows! I can't thank you the enough for it, except by making a story that hopefully you all can enjoy. ^_^
Having said that, I hope you enjoy this chapter~
"Let chaos ensue!"
The Familiar Exhibition: Part 2
Standing behind the tower where the students dorms are, and with the students already doing their presentations in the Exhibition, a pair of pink-haired girls are having a peaceful discussion.
"For the love of the Founder, and for the love of whatever Heretic God you may believe in, if you even believe in one, and for the love of your real Mother who is not me… Tell me you have a plan that doesn't involve me wearing that string bikini you're holding." Louise would have normally choked the life out of her fake daughter-she still refuses to believe Beatrice's story, despite the fact almost everyone had already long since accepted it- however right now she was more disappointed than anything.
She didn't know what she was expecting when she escaped Agnes' claws to look for the slightly taller than her girl, and she didn't know why she had some kind of hope. It's obvious that Beatrice would never come up with something decent.
Surprisingly, however, said girl looked at the lewd clothing on her hand and then shook her head. "Oh, no, no, this is for Auntie Kirche. She asked me for something that would help make her look more fiery than she already does." Louise let out a relieved sigh. Then Beatrice pulled out a set of fake dog ears and a dog tail butt-plug. "This is the thing we'll be using for our turn at the Exhibition!"
"..."
Louise's right eye twitched at the sight of the items.
Beatrice smiled warmly. Way, WAY too warmly, just getting ready to see her Mother's panic attack and deliver the punchline.
However, against her plans, the air around the two of them became thicker, and the taller of the two began noticing it as some sweat began forming on the back of her head.
Slowly, she puts the items down. "O-Okay, actually, I think we can do something else, I had a perfect idea that involved using my Void magic and-"
"No." Louise's right eye kept twitching, but now a dark smile formed over her lips. "You took the time to gather the things for our presentation, and I have to admire your hard work!" The smaller pinkette gently took the items off of Beatrice's hands. "You have managed to solve various situations somehow. Sheer luck? Blessings from the Founder himself? Who cares! You've done it before, and the only thing I can do is trust in you again!"
That didn't help Beatrice relax one bit. Especially as Louise put on her the tiara with the fake dog's ears on her head, and then her smile turned into a grin. The taller teen has never seen her Mom so genuinely excited before, not even when it was women's day and her adult Mom got a new strap to try with Daddy.
The smaller girl took a step forward while rubbing the dog tail plug. "Get on all fours~"
"M-Mom, I-I think-" Before Beatrice could reply, Louise kneed her on the stomach with enough force to get all the air off her lungs. "BLECH!?" Falling to the ground on her knees, the girl had no chance to recover as her Mother took a hold of the back of her head and slammed it onto the patch of grass, leaving her daughter's ass standing tall. "NGH?!"
Louise giggled and lifted the taller girl's skirt up before moving a certain piece of cloth to the side, all while aiming the plug towards the spot it'd go in.
Siesta walked in on them after a long time searching for them, and acting as if she hadn't been the responsible for nearly getting both girls inside killed the night before. "Lady Louise, you're being called to present your-"
"H'owww~!"
At that moment, two girls were left scarred for life. One of them physically, and the other with a memory she'll never be able to erase.
Louise, meanwhile, hasn't felt this great ever since was four, the last birthday she had before trying magic!
And the worst part of all this is…!
… Beatrice did like it.
What she did not like was the part where she was standing in the middle of a stage to do her presentation, all while wearing a leash tightly around her neck and standing on all fours.
The reaction of the audience varied from amusement, awkwardness, and even some people covering the eyes of the younger members of the public.
Beatrice wondered why Auntie Henrietta, Cattleya, Eleanore, or Grandma Karin hadn't jumped into action to help her. It didn't take her long to notice the Princess in her dead internally state, her intoxicated Grandma, and her aunties trying to make her drink water or leave the spot.
They probably haven't even noticed the tall pink-haired girl being humiliated. Beatrice didn't know if that was good or bad.
Her grandpa, meanwhile, looked as ashamed of his wife as possible, enough to not notice the horrors going on in front of him.
"This is my Familiar, Bea-Chan!" Louise declared proudly, making the headmaster cringe slightly. "Say hi, Bea-Chan~"
"U-Um-" She felt a shudder going throughout her entire spine as she saw her Mother's half-glare at her. "W-Woof!"
"Good girl!" Louise patted her head, and the taller of the two could feel some pity from the crowd, especially from Professor Colbert, who had been the one to introduce them. "Now, on your back and roll~"
The next couple of minutes could be resumed by Beatrice being treated like a trained dog, and thank goodness this place didn't know what the internet was. If they did, her reputation would go into the ground with no chance of ever going back up.
Finally, after several more agonizing minutes, and of feeling the thing in her butt causing her to feel uncanny feelings she'd rather have in private, Beatrice did the last thing she had to do: Give a paw to Louise's hand.
"Great job, Bea-Chan!" She stood up and turned back to the crowd, all while pulling from Beatrice's leash to stand up on her knees. "This was it. Thank you all for attending~" She waved, with the amused part of the audience cheering and clapping as the smaller girl dragged her daughter from the future away.
Once they went behind the curtains of the stage they made their presentations, she was met with the various reactions of her classmates, most of whom were on good terms with Beatrice.
Still, Louise paid them no mind as she unclipped the leash from Beatrice's neck and scratched her chin, making the girl shudder in panic. "Alright, that was that. You can take the rest of the day off. I'm proud of you, Dog." Louise hissed coldly, her smile from the act before completely gone.
"T-Thank you, Mistress…" Beatrice got up to her feet… And immediately rushed to Tabitha's side, who simply patted her arms as the girl hugged her from behind.
With her usual deadpan, the blue-haired girl spoke up, "Let's go get that tail off of you."
"I-I can do that…"
"Can you?" Tabitha's response left Beatrice frozen as she realized it felt a little stuck. With a sigh, the blue-haired girl awkwardly turned around, and with Beatrice still hugging her, went towards the nearest tower with a bathroom to help her out.
In Louise's end, she couldn't help but think how much of a convenience it was that Tabitha asked to be the first one to do her presentation. Sure, that meant the public wouldn't be amazed by literally anything else after witnessing a fucking dragon in the beginning, but hey, apparently "Sylphid wanted to sleep early".
A bullshit excuse, but hey, she has never lied before, why would she do it now?
The quick answer is, she wouldn't.
The long answer is the rest of this chapter.
But back to the present, Louise simply felt a weight off her shoulders. She doesn't know if this'll get her disowned by her family, however, she could proudly say she one-upped Beatrice.
She doesn't remember exactly why she got shot, but she deduced that her supposed daughter had something to do with it.
"Gee… That was rough, even coming from you, Zero…" Kirche couldn't help but feel for the other girl. Sure, she liked Beatrice a lot, and she wholeheartedly believed her story of being Louise's daughter, especially thanks to interactions that occurred off-screen of the two getting along.
… What? I forgot to make them, okay?!
Ahem.
The point is, the Germanian beauty felt for her… But she isn't going to risk her life facing Louise to defend her. No one is that dumb.
Louise simply shrugged. "It's fine, getting one public shaming is sad, but something she'll have to get used to if she really is my daughter." Kirche felt a sense of remorse for having bullied the young Valliere so much, if this is what she considered something her descendants would inherit somehow.
Still, she couldn't let this one slide. She could perfectly let all the bullying towards Louise slide, but not towards her daughter! Beatrice told her that boys DO have a g-spot after all, and ever since, the male student's petitions to spend the night with her increased tenfold!
"Zero, listen to yourself!" Kirche tried to sound scolding, whether she succeeded or not is up to personal interpretation. "The Founder blessed us with magic, all of us, meaning she should be like a sibling to you. And if you bully one of your siblings, the creator will get mad." She's not particularly religious, but hey, she knows that Louise is.
The small girl's reaction was a snort. "Ha! Please. Beatrice is a heretic in all the meaning of the word. And if such a thing as divine punishment for humiliating a fellow mage is real, let chaos ensue across all the Academy!"
As if answering to her taunting, the ground began trembling loudly, and then everyone turned towards the origin of the trembles and found-... A fucking golem the size of the towers.
The golem proceeded to make a "roaring" stance, and the public attending the Familiar Exhibition entered into a frenzy of panic, alongside the students. All but Louise and Kirche who kept looking at the big rocky construct.
"..."
"..."
Kirche looked at Louise… And then took a step back while holding a nervous smile.
Louise, meanwhile, took a deep breath.
"SON OF A-!"
"Mom! MOM!" Cattleya kept shaking Karin in hopes of getting a logical reaction out of her.
For over an hour, all she's done is giggle, snort, burp, and toss sarcastic and outright mocking comments at random.
They were too busy dealing with it to even notice the presentations taking place. However, when chaos struck and a fucking rock golem began moving towards them, with two hooded riders on its shoulders, and with absolutely no mage to even damage it, it's obvious they would be unable to ignore it.
Normally, the mage known as The Heavy Wind would have been the first to jump into action, and with a maximum of three spells at most, she would have dealt with it immediately.
However, now of all times, Karin decided it'd be a good time to fall asleep, with drool falling from her mouth and a piece of snot inflating and deflating from her nose with every snore she took.
It'd look comical if they weren't all in danger of dying.
Watching the scene with a vein popping from her forehead, Eleanore had enough of treating her Mom like a random drunkard. "Grr… S-Stop it! I know what to do!" She pushed Cattleya aside, and the younger sister thought her eldest sister would shake their Mother harder or even scream at her.
Eleanore proceeded to slap Karin, earning a terrified gasp out of Cattleya.
"WAKE!" A second slap. "UP!" Another one. "YOU DRUNKEN!" Eleanore's hand began aching from how hard she was doing it. "BITCH!" A final hit, and Karin jolts awake, half-disoriented and with her face burning, and all while tossing her daughter off her lap and onto the ground.
"W-What happened and-... Ugh-..." She gripped her head. "My head… Did I have too much wine…?" She pondered while looking at her surroundings, trying to make sense of what was going on, and why everyone was being so noisy.
"M-Mother!" Cattleya approached her while pointing at the incoming golem, which all the Mages were unable to even put a dent onto. "Y-You have to help us! Please!"
"N-Ngh…" Karin wasn't too sure about what happened or how it happened, but she knew something. They were in danger, and she'd stop any and all fools who dared to attack them. "... I would like some water first." That didn't mean her throat and head weren't killing her.
Cattleya nodded and was quick to pick up a bottle with water. "I found this in your room after we went to pick you." She also found a freshly used feather with ink on the bed, but she didn't bother making mention of it, it probably was nothing important.
Karin nodded and picked up the bottle. It was strange, made of a material she hadn't ever seen before, but the most interesting part was the writing on it. "Grandma, you looked pretty out of it, so I left you this bottle in case you get thirsty during the presentation! Hope you get better soon~ Love, Beatrice. I hope you enjoy my presentation when it comes!"
The older woman couldn't help but let a small smile form on her lips. That girl was nice, way too nice. And it is her job to repay that kindness. Even if Karin still doesn't believe her to be some sort of future granddaughter of her, she does believe her to be part of the family. And family is the most important thing in the world.
Taking a hold of the bottle, Karin managed to open it up and take a big chug from it.
She'd be repaying Beatrice's kindness and properly welcoming her into the family after turning this golem into dust!
And as she drank the contents of the liquid, she'd come to find out that only ten percent of the bottle is water, with the rest being water-flavored vodka.
A few moments ago.
"Um… Miss Fouquet?" Illococoo spoke while holding onto the golem's head as hard as she could, finding it really hard given the roughness of the material… And also because her skintight outfit turned out to really limit her movements after all.
Mathilda tried to ignore her questions, but she knew doing so would end badly for the two of them, especially if the dragon-girl messed something up. "What?"
"The plan is to take a hold of the Princess, so you can use her as a bargain chip for the Staff of Destruction, and then during it, Bea-Sis would appear and 'beat us epicly', right?"
Mathilda groaned. She would have loved to do this alone, but the Dragon Girl was here to "turn on her" in case Fouquet decided to go rogue. The thief ended up nodding.
Illococoo tilted her head even further. "Okay… Did she ever mention what to do with the Humans attacking us?" She asked while pointing down at the several heads of the Nobles families coming to shoot them with magic. Fouquet, however, wasn't one bit worried.
She witnessed as they blasted a mix of Water, Earth, Wind, and Fire magic at the golem. While mighty on its own, even it could normally only tank so much damage before it was actually turned into rubble.
However, when the attacks impacted her construct's body, they were all absorbed into its body like it was nothing.
The reason for this? Derflinger was conveniently put in the middle of the Golem, giving the golem all of his properties. Unless the attack came from a powerfully skilled Square-Class mage, or outright a Void Mage, which she doubted even existed, nothing would be able to harm this baby!
Sadly, despite having created the Golem, its loyalty wasn't exactly to her, and Fouquet didn't want to risk Derflinger somehow taking control of it if she were to turn on Beatrice and Illococoo somehow.
"We scare them away, like the mice they are!" She swung her wand at them, and the Golem began doing a kick that lifted the ground in front of it and sent various pieces of earth flying. Gravity pulled them down, and the Mages were forced to flee or cover themselves.
Illococoo let out an amused noise, and then both girls duck as they heard bangs filling the air. Looking down, they noticed the Musketeers trying hard to aim at the controllers of such a machination. They knew the Golem's weakness, and unlike a lot of magic being tossed at them, bullets tended to be instant kills.
Waving her wand again, she covered up the two of them with the Golem's arm, as it moved closer to where the Princess is and began reaching out for her.
The screams of despair as they couldn't do anything to stop her were pure joy. Sure, Fouquet was in this for the money, and to save her life and that of Tiffania and the kids of the orphanage, but that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy her work.
Mathilda expected the Princess to scream, struggle, run, or something. Instead, not only did her golem manage to pick her up without many difficulties, but the ruler of the country appeared to be dead on the inside, as if her mind were somewhere else instead of here. This… Took away some emotion from Fouquet, but still, the job's gotta be done.
She let out a loud evil laugh, "Hahaha! Your Princess is now in my clutches, Maggots! If you don't want me to crush her every bone, then you will hand me the Staff of Destruction."
She doesn't know why Beatrice had her use those specific words, but hey, she's just a henchman, one who'll have to reveal her "villain outfit" the moment the "Hero" stepped forward.
"Stop right there, Villain!" And lookie here, she arrived!
Mathilda mentally prepared herself to say goodbye to her dignity, and turned towards Beatrice, ready to pull off her hood and rip out her dress… Except the one that screamed wasn't Beatrice. Instead, what she found was a woman who looked like an older Louise, holding a sword-wand in her hands, and looking quite furious.
As soon as she appeared, all the people present gathered in one spot and began cheering in victory.
"..." Illococoo tilted her head in confusion at the newcomer.
Fouquet, however, was confused. Didn't that bitch of Beatrice say THIS mage had been specifically dealt with?!
Karin didn't hold any of their confusion and instead made the first move, not letting the two process any of this. "Wind Blast!"
Both females watched as a powerful torrent of wind-... No, a motherfucking hurricane was shot right at them!
The two let out a panicked scream as it impacts the Golem. Unlike the other spells, the golem is unable to absorb the magic and its entire torso has a hole blasted right through it.
Everyone cheers as the Golem starts falling apart into rubble, and Illococoo would have transformed into a dragon to save herself, but remembered she got told to not do something that would expose her identity.
The thief, on the other hand, let out a panicked scream as she quickly chanted a levitation spell on herself before she hit the ground, allowing her to survive the fall.
Sadly enough, she was too busy fearing for her life to also fear for the life of her companion (oh no… anyway), and the ruler of the nation (oh shit!).
Illococoo landed head first into the dirt, while Henrietta managed to, miraculously, land on top of one of her musketeers who had rushed over to save her.
Mathilda would have been sure she heard a cracking noise coming from the girl who tried to cushion her ruler's fall, but she didn't care enough to confirm it.
Derflinger, who had been in the Golem's right foot, was now caught inside a dead construct… He really hopes Beatrice comes to look for him sooner or later. He doesn't like it now that he isn't moving.
"You nefarious Villains…" Mathilda groaned as she turned to the angry looking Karin. Great, just great, another flaw in Beatrice's plan that she couldn't have foreseen. Karin the Heavy Wind was here, and she looked pissed as hell!
As Illococoo got her head off the ground and shook it violently, Fouquet raised her wand and began thinking of ways to escape from here. Screw Beatrice's planning and branding, this woman would without a doubt send her to jail if she didn't run away now!
She saw Karin raise her wand-blade and slash again.
"You ruined my sleep!" Mathilda blinked and-... Did Karin's cheeks suddenly turn red?
No, more importantly, she just blasted another tornado at them!
Mathilda and Illococoo both tossed themselves to the ground, and the spell continued forward, heading towards the building that had been behind them; the dining hall.
The entire foundation is destroyed, and the building collapses on itself. The screams of the people inside would be forever burnt into the memories of those who heard them.
The previous cheering crowd went quiet in shock, all of them perfectly having heard the sounds of the now deceased. Of course, Karin wasn't one of said such who heard them, and if she did, she probably didn't process them. "I'LL KILL YOU BOTH!"
Mathilda watched the murderous expression of the older woman and opened her mouth to scream. " " Once she realized no sound was coming from her mouth, Mathilda took a hold of Illococoo by her thighs and back, carrying her like a princess and running for their lives while keeping her mouth open in hopes of getting any noise out eventually.
Karin, drunk once more, blasted another tornado at them, which they managed to dodge somehow, before it continued on and hit the tower hosting the library, taking down said building as well along with anyone inside.
The Nobles, students, Professors, musketeers, and cleaning staff felt a different kind of dread looming over their spines as Mathilda ran in their direction, in a hurry, possibly to get someone to help her with Karin.
Unfortunately, no one wished to die, so they all turned tail and ran, doing their best to avoid the magic Karin fired and simply trying to not die. Woe those who were in the towers, they never had a chance.
On the side, away from the chaos, and hiding behind some bushes, Louise and Kirche watched the scene develop, each with their own reactions.
Louise was just holding a disbelief look while staring into her Mother's direction, trying to let her brain process what she's seeing.
Kirche, on her part, simply looked again at Louise… And then proceeded to stand up from her hiding spot, rip the bush she was hiding in, lift it, and take twenty steps away from Louise before setting the bush down again, and hiding in it once more.
"... Y-Yeah, nothing personal, Valliere…"
"..." Louise frowned with a tired expression. "Fuck the Founder."
"Fuck Brimir…" Inside a tower Karin had no plans to aim at any time soon, Tabitha was holding the dog tail, which was still half-way in, with all her might and with some sweat forming on her forehead, all while Beatrice was prostrated on the ground, trying to not cry. It stopped feeling good, and now it was just pure pain.
Tabitha accommodated her glasses with a hand while letting a pant out. "Okay… A final time. Count to three." Her hold on the tail tightened.
Tears swelling in her eyes, Beatrice nodded, "Okay, Okay… One… Two… Thr-"
Tabitha pulled. It came out!
"KYAAAAAAAAA!?" Beatrice hoped that, at the very least, the rest of her plan was going well and Fouquet was making time for her to arrive with the script she gave her.
After all, how could her plan ever go wrong?
AN: I'm starting to think Beatrice might be the villain here… Nah, must be my imagination. :3
And now that we've reached the actual AN section, for real, thank you so much everyone for having followed the story despite the lack of updates. The lack of motivation did me dirty, along many other things.
But am back now! I hope!
And having said that, a section I missed doing~
Anchovyisbest: She got just about everything to make sure Karin wouldn't mess in her plans to be the Hero… Except that it backfired in a way no one could have foreseen when making a last minute plan at midnight. XD
And in a slightly more personal note, thanks for keeping the comments up, Anchovy. I know not a lot of people like to review, but seeing just one is enough to fill me with joy. ^_^
Also, I wanted to get this chapter out yesterday, but stuff happened, they've calmed down somewhat, but hey, it's better than nothing. Big thanks to my beta-reads, Porpol and Fen for pointing out errors and giving me tips for future things, and as always, have all a wonderful day~
Shadic out!~
The third part should come out in a few days. ;)
