Story Start!

Naruto had an issue.

He got a letter.

'Lets see... I could ask Deli, but would that be weird... Mimiro might be free, but that for sure would end weird... Ivy... no, she would be way too busy... Piltia... no... no...' Naruto had an issue as leaned up against the table he almost always sat at. The bar wasn't too busy at the moment, and Naruto had a very important choice he needed to make thanks to the letter he had recieved. 'Star... no, she smells kind of bad, like a zoo... not the type to really...' Naruto crossed his arms and made a face.

"Well THAT is a face." Meidri served him his dinner, and he turned around to eat it.

"Thanks Meidri... Meidri... hmmm?" Naruto hummed in thought as he looked at her. Meidri tilted her head and raised an eyebrow when she saw him look her up and down. She snorted in curiousity when Naruto raised his hands up to frame her face.

"Is something off?" Meidri wasn't used to this treatment.

Naruto cleared his throat.

"Dear Mister Uzumaki, it is with great pleasure do I invite you to appear at a my humble abode to participate in a masked dance. We will have food, drink, entertainment, and celebrities of all types at this event. Your rise through the adventurer ranks, and your slaying of both an Earth Dragon and Sea-Man Swarm in the ocean had earned you ample recognition. This is a masked event, and requires a date of beauty and class.
With much respect, Count Call Girlula." Naruto finished reading the letter that he took out from his pocket.

"Oh... that is wonderful, I hope you enjoy yourself!" Meidri was happy that Naruto was finally getting to travel in a way that wasn't work related, and he would get to attend a party for the rich and successful.

Meidri's eyes widened.

'... He's about to ask me if I know anyone who would go with him... I shouldn't get my hopes up.' Meidri instantly squashed her hope, since she knew how these things typically went for her. She had wasted multiple chances due to her lack of resistance against the lewd areas of town, and now she was going to get asked for date suggestions. "... Phew."

"THAT is a face."

"... If you want my suggestions on a date, I suggest picking one of those succu-girls..."

"Oh... okay, I was going to ask you to go with me... I guess you're busy though, so I'll ask Elma or Megalo." Naruto was surprised that she was making suggestions. He stood up though, and decided that he was better off just leaving for the day. Meidri seemed to be in a bad mood now for some reason.

Naruto left the pubb.

Crim looked at Naruto leave, before he stared at Meidri.

"Meidri... Are you sure it is a good idea to turn Naruto down like that?"

"Huh... wait... huh?" Meidri twisted her neck when Naruto's words registered to her, and her eyes widened once more when she realized that she had just turned Naruto down in a way.

HE ASKED HER!

"Go get him!"

"When he turns you down, I'll cheer you up... in my room!"

"Zip it Stunk!" Meidri flapped her wings, before she flew out of the pubb at her top speed. She floated in the air for a moment, and she pinpointed Naruto with a glint to her eyes. She locked onto her target and zoomed towards him, with her feet extended out. She grabbed Naruto by the shoulders and got her best grip, before she took Naruto off the ground and brought him up high.

"What!?"

"I would love to go to the party with you! Sorry, sorry, I thought you were asking for help deciding since you were getting so many dates!" Meidri dropped Naruto onto the top of a building and landed right next to him. "I would love to go with you!" Meidri stated again with even more excitement. She stepped closer to Naruto, and repeated once more. "I would LOVE to go with you! I just need to get a dress for the party... what color are you wearing... because if you don't know yet, you should go with a black suit... I know you love orange, so an orange tie... that way I can wear a black dress with blue accents!" Meidri pumped herself up even more.

"Hey idiots, get off my roof!"

"Sorry!" Naruto shouted as he jumped off the roof, and landed on the ground with a heavy thud, a shiver going up his body from the rough landing. Meidri landed softly next to him, but she had a bright smile plastered on her face. '... man, she must be really excited to go to a fancy party.' Naruto had never seen somebody who was so unbelievably happy.

...

That was a lie.

Deli whenever they went to a place that served fish was just as excited, and that time he stopped a fight in the cyclops store and got sucker punched in the nose, Megalo was SUPER excited by his eyes watering from the punch. Not crying from pain, but as a natural response to a sucker punch to the nose. Elma was really excited when he had come back from a mission, and was really backed up... so he could go an extra round with her before his dick softened up.

'A date! I mean, we aren't dating... but this is a step in the right direction for sure!' Meidri's wings were twitching with how much she wanted to fly around and scream. Her feet pittered and pattered faster than she would like to to while walking.

Naruto hummed as they walked back to the pubb.

'Meidri is pretty, she has some class to her, she smells good... and nobody will stare at me weird for bringing her. Not to mention... I'm friends with her, so it will be fun.' Naruto could easily imagine Elma, Megalo, or even Piltia being good for the parties. Some of the other girls he knew, not so much. Deli was not suited for a fancy party... and Star had some serious stink to her since she loved to run and sweat, and her horse half smelled like horse.

Also, it was a 4 day round trip empty handed, meaning he had to pick a person he could imagine himself spending 5 days with and not wanting to strangle them.

He was friendly with Piltia, but spending 5 days with her... was a bit much, and he could see himself spending 5 days with Chitty even less appealing, since she would try to cheat rich people out of their money at the party. Not to mention she was... not exactly somebody he knew that well outside of gambling and sex.

Meidri smelling good was the BIGGEST thing though.

Also, she was drop dead beautiful by the standards of most species, so having her on his arm would be a pretty big power move. Since he wasn't rich or famous like the other people at the party, he needed something to make himself stand equal to them in their view. Going to a party where everyone was crapping all over him was not going to be fun, so he needed to do something to make a good first impression.

"You sure, this is a 5 day trip... 2 days there, the day of the party, and 2 days back." Naruto stated to her.

She nodded even faster.

"That sounds like fun too, I never get to travel that much or see the sights! I'm always working, so this sounds like a fun mini-vacation!" Meidri was not about to get talked out of taking this chance, and going to a rich people party. She had already almost ruined her chance earlier, and now she was going to make sure that she kept her chances as high as possible. "... so... what made you pick me?"

...

Danger.

'This is a loaded question and she doesn't even know it.' Naruto could easily seeing this answer going bad. "... because you were the person I thought would be the most fun to go with!" Naruto answered after giving it a moment of thought. He could not tell her that part of the reason was because she smelled good, and the other reason was because she was downright great to look at.

There was a wrong answer, but thankfully Naruto did not pick the wrong answer.

"Thank you for that, I'll do my best!" Meidri took the compliment, and rolled with it without giving it much more thought.

Bullet dodged.

He hoped Ivy wouldn't be mad at him for taking Meidri for 5 days.
