The Dark Matter hadn't been to Lord Miracle's nest before, it was a large nest much like Lord Zero's. However, while Lord Zero could be seen with several siblings at once, there was nothing like that here. Lord Miracle really was alone out here.

"You know, we used to take your brother here quite a lot when he was younger," Lord Miracle said, lost in thought. "Brother would always ask us to bring him here until he 'calmed down'. It worries us that he would want to take away someone that your brother deeply cares about, but at the end of the day it's his word against ours."

The Dark Matter let out a sigh, his brother shouldn't have been punished in the first place. When he looked over this nest, however, he couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness here.

But Lord Miracle was connected to the rest of the colony, so that shouldn't be entirely true, right?

"Now, we know that 10 days will seem like a lot, but we promise that those days will go by quickly."

The Dark Matter hoped so, because this wasn't like waiting for Brother to come back from one of his missions. He knew that Lord Miracle could feel his distress, and he knew that he was trying his best to bring comfort to the Dark Matter, but it wasn't enough to calm him down.

"Hm..." It seemed like Lord Miracle was trying to think of something, anything to cheer up the Dark Matter. Soon, his eyes began to focus.

"So Little One, you're still unable to possess anyone, is that right?"

The Dark Matter nodded, he looked at the ground in shame.

"Well, neither can we." Lord Miracle told him, which quickly gained the Dark Matter's attention.

"That's right, although we protect this planet we cannot possess anyone. We cannot create life either, but what we DID have was our ability to copy. We suppose that you could think of it like an exchange."

So was THIS why he had such a powerful ability? Was this why Lord Zero trusted Miracle Matter to protect their home?

"Now...we do know that some Dark Matter might not possess either ability, and Brother...he won't hesitate to kill those he deems useless. But even if you don't possess either ability, we like to think that there's still something unique about you. You may even be as strong as Brother is and not even know it yet."

The Dark Matter didn't really believe it, the only unique thing about him was his two eyes, and even then Lord Miracle's eyes covered his entire body.

Given the situation the Dark Matter was in, all he had to do was wait until his Brother's punishment was over. And besides, at least Lord Miracle treated him kindly. It wouldn't hurt to get to know him a bit more.

It was a strange feeling having to wake up in Lord Miracle's nest. Even though he expected it, it was still scary having to wake up next to someone with so many eyes staring at him.

"Ah, good morning Little One." Lord Miracle greeted. "Would you like to accompany us in patrolling Dark Star?"

The Dark Matter gave him a blank look, as he was barely awake. He wiped the crust out of his eyes before he looked at Lord Miracle again.

"We will ask again, would you like to accompany us?" Lord Miracle asked. The Dark Matter replied with a nod, seeing as there wasn't much else to do other than train here.

"Since you're still quite young, we'll stay out of the clouds for now. But if any invaders come in, we ask that you find a place to hide until we've taken care of them."

The Dark Matter nodded in understanding. With that in mind, Lord Miracle began to hover. The Dark Matter sprouted his fins and followed closely behind him. Admittedly, the Dark Matter rarely ever flew far from the ground. He always preferred to either crawl or let Brother carry him, so seeing the ground below made him feel dizzy.

And then there were the dark clouds that circled this world. As Lord Miracle had said, he stayed out of the clouds as he continued to fly. If the Dark Matter wanted to, he could fly straight through them and see the outside world. But since a powerful light existed just outside these clouds, it was no wonder Lord Miracle didn't want to take any chances.

"If you look down there, Little One, you can see everyone else's nests."

The Dark Matter did exactly that, he could see Lord Zero's nest sitting in the middle. Once again, he was surrounded by younger siblings. Meanwhile, many of the older siblings were scattered across different nests doing different things. Given how far away the Dark Matter was, most of these siblings looked like small black dots scattered across the nests.

Soon, the Dark Matter was able to see his own nest. He could see that Brother was laying down. The Dark Matter assumed he was sleeping, but there was no way he could get close to him right now, should Lord Zero decide to punish him. At the very least, the Dark Matter hoped that his brother was going to be OK without him.

For now, though, he needed to stay with Lord Miracle. After all, he enjoyed patrolling the world so far, and he was sure that Lord Miracle enjoyed it too.

After a while, it got difficult to keep up with Lord Miracle. There was so much stress on the Dark Matter's fins that he felt as if they would fall off.

"Are you tired, Little One?" Lord Miracle asked, as if he sensed the Dark Matter's fatigue. "We'll be sure to find a place to rest, soon."

Once Lord Miracle found a spot to rest at, the Dark Matter began to follow him. As the Dark Matter landed, he noticed that the ground was softer than it was back at his and Lord Miracle's nest. He also noticed that there were red and purple pillars coming out of the ground.

"You may look at the crystals if you'd like, they're not as dangerous as the ones on Ripple Star."

Oh, these were crystals? But as Lord Miracle said, they weren't dangerous. In fact, the Dark Matter could sense a bit of a dark aura coming out of them. Just touching these crystals gave the Dark Matter a warm and fuzzy feeling.

"You know, Dark Star feels so much smaller when you've been around for as long as we have. And given the amount of life Brother creates, it's no wonder he wants to expand our territory."

Come again? The Dark Matter tilted his head as he gave Lord Miracle a puzzled look.

"Ah, you DO know why Brother is always sending your siblings out on missions, right?" Lord Miracle asked. "He wants to find worlds that he can make suitable for living in. emptier worlds are easier to take over, but other worlds have plenty of people whose despair you can feed off of."

But why do such a thing? Wouldn't it be easier to befriend these people? Of course, for all the Dark Matter knew, these people could be just as cruel as his own siblings.

"...Perhaps you'll understand when you're a little older, but just imagine going through other worlds covered entirely in darkness. We wouldn't have to fear the beings of light outside, nor would we worry about anything associated with light. Doesn't that sound nice?"

The Dark Matter gave Lord Miracle a strange look, he started to sound like Brother in a way. But would a world full of Darkness really be a good thing? The Dark Matter wasn't sure, he couldn't even imagine what a world full of light was like.

Well, whatever. The Dark Matter didn't need to worry about it right now. Once he was ready to go, he began to follow Lord Miracle again.
