Grace pulled into the driveway and turned off her car. She got out and made her way up the steps, fumbling in her bag to get her keys. She yawned and fumbled with her keys, jiggling the right one in the lock until the door opened. She closed the door behind her and sighed. She noticed a familiar bikini bottom almost under the table by the door. She set her bag on the couch, then picked up the bottoms. She was about to go into her bedroom when she felt a hand touch her shoulder.
"Your friend is still here," a male voice said.
"I know, I told her she could be," Grace replied.
"You didn't run it by me?" he asked.
"I texted you. Not my fault you never check your texts," she said. She slipped past him into her bedroom and smiled when she saw Kat sprawled out in her bed. She put her jacket on the chair and stripped down to her underwear, then pulled on a loose t-shirt and crawled under the blankets next to Kat.
"What time is it?" Kat mumbled sleepily.
"Almost two. Go back to sleep," Grace whispered back. She snuggled against her and kissed her jaw sleepily.
"Did everything go okay?" Kat asked her.
"Yeah. Suspect is in custody, Benson told us to go home and come in in the morning," she whispered. Kat gently pulled Muncy on top of her as they kissed.
"Can we slow down?" Grace whispered. Kat's hands wandered up her body and tangled in her hair.
"Of course. Are you okay?"
"Yeah."
"I don't mean to pry-"
"No, it's okay," Grace said, crawling off of Kat. She nestled herself in Kat's arms and smiled softly. "I've never slept with anyone on the first date," she explained quietly.
"Oh," Kat said softly. "Did you not want to earlier? Grace, you should have said something, you know I-"
"No, I did. That's why I want to stop now. I don't really know what to do."
"Do you regret it?" Kat asked softly.
"I don't think so."
"Well, that's a start," Kat murmured, kissing her cheek. Grace cupped Kat's face and pulled her closer. They shared several soft kisses before Kat gently pulled away. "We don't have to do anything until you're ready to. You know that, right?" she whispered.
"I know."
"Good."
"What happens now?" Grace whispered.
"We go to sleep. Unless you don't want to," Kat murmured. Grace smiled and buried her face in the fabric of Kat's loose tank top.
