The day had finally come. Max, Lisa and all their friends had completed the eleventh grade. Everyone felt very good about completing it, especially Max who had never ever been a grade A student since kindergarten, no matter how smart he was, and even more especially Lisa who had been held back in the eleventh grade for the last two years. They along with the whole class knew that they had one more grade to get through to finish high school, but they were glad that they managed to get through this grade.

Their friend Stacey was very busy that day, with starting with giving out her student body president speech which was awesome like all the other end-of-years speeches she did every year and then finally hosting another one of her awesome graduation parties at her house that night. It was a hot summer's night, so Stacey arranged her party outside in her massive garden. Once again, this party was a huge success. She had one of her older cousins, who was a cook at a restaurant and whom she fairly paid for his services the same amount he would earn at work, to help with the barbecue food, which was so successful that they had nearly ran out of food. Everyone enjoyed dancing to the music that played on the giant speakers playing many songs, with Powerline's biggest hits among them. Even those were chilling in the giant swimming pool were dancing to them.

Max congratulated all his friends getting through the eleventh grade and asking them what they were doing for their summer vacation and he told them what he was doing for his summer vacation when they asked him.

"Congratulations once again, Lisa, for completing the eleventh grade," Max said, as he approached her.

"Thanks, Max. And to you too." Then she looked sad.

"Is something worrying you?" Max asked.

Lisa sighed. "It's just that I've been held back in the eleventh grade twice. Now, I finished it, all I can think of is I must get through one more grade – the twelfth grade – to finish high school and I'm worried about how hard it's going to be and if I will be stuck in that it too and for how long?"

Max took her hands and kissed her on the cheek. "Okay, relax, Lisa. Just calm down and take a deep breath. I know school is hard. I find it very hard too, you know. And you know I don't have much better grades than you, but I still do it."

"What motivates you to do your very best at school, Max? Despite your poor grades. Is it Powerline, like how he failed at school along with everything before he became the most successful rock star on the planet?"

"Partly," Max said. "There are many reasons, but the main one I keep trying very hard to get good grades so they can be useful for me in the future like getting into the best college I can get into or getting the best job I can get and other stuff. May I ask, Lisa, what makes you think you managed to pass the eleventh grade this time?"

Lisa had a quick think. "Well, the first thought in my mind is that many things have gone wrong in my life like my parents fighting more as I get older and Chad cheating on me and I think I've been focusing more school to take my mind of them, but at the same time many good things have happened to me like being in a wonderful relationship with you and since then you giving me support and motivation when I needed it, like when we did Into The Woods and junior prom. You've really improved my life, Max, since you became my boyfriend and I think that's really what changed me."

Max was really touched by those words. "Wow, thanks, Lisa. After summer vacation, we can be in the same grade together and that way we can help each other get through it."

"That sounds very awesome," Lisa said. "So, what are you doing anything this summer?"

"Uh, yeah," Max said. "I'm going on a cruise with my dad, PJ, his mom and his sister."

"Wow! That's so cool! Where is this cruise going to take you?"

"Somewhere in the Arabian Gulf," Max replied. "I've never been there before, so I'm very excited to see it."

"Well, I hope you have a great time, Max," Lisa said.

"Oh, I will, especially since PJ's dad is not invited after all, especially after the divorce between him and PJ's mom. What about you, Lisa? What adventures are you going to have on your summer vacation?"

"Well, I'm going on vacation with my family in Hawaii," Lisa said. "It's what our family therapist suggested; to go on vacation together and try our very best to connect with everyone. If we fail, then it's nothing but divorce. But the hardest thing will me having to choose who to live with because I love them all equally and I don't want to have to choose."

"Well, assuming you go to college and I get in the same one with you," Max said, "we can move into a small apartment together and that way we can learn to live independently and, if your parents do get divorced, you can choose to go and see them whenever you want. Just something to hold onto if the very worse comes."

Lisa thought about what Max said and then she smiled. "That's a good idea, Max. I sure hope that we can get into the same college together."

"What would you like to study?" Max asked.

"Oh, I don't know," Lisa replied. "Maybe I'll think about while I'm on vacation."

"Well, let's hope it's a good vacation," Max said.

"Thanks, Max. And I hope you have a good vacation, too."

"Thanks, Lisa."

Then they toasted to their vacation with their plastic cups of fizzy drinks and drank them.

"Hi, guys."

Max and Lisa turned to see Stacey approaching them.

"Hey, Stacey," Lisa said. "Wicked party."

"Yeah, awesome party, Stacey," Max said. "And that speech you gave today was very awesome as always."

"Thanks, guys," she said. "You know, I'm really going to miss you guys when we complete the twelfth grade next year."

"You doing anything for your summer vacation, Stacey?" Lisa asked.

"Yeah, my parents and I are going on a safari in Africa," Stacey replied. "What are you guys?"

Max and Lisa told her what their vacation plans were.

"Great. Hope you enjoy them and continue to enjoy the party." Then she walked ahead.

"So, has Chloe told you what she's doing for her summer vacation?" Max asked.

"Oh, yeah," Lisa said. "She and her family are going to some theme parks in Orlando, Florida. Now, you told me about PJ. What about Bobby?"

"Well, he and his parents are going on vacation in Greece," Max said. "I'm sure he'll have a good time."

Then they hugged and kissed before they went their separate ways and continued to congratulate and talk to the rest of their friends before their party ended.
