AN: Hello my dear readers and good friends, I am finally here at last with the next chapter. As usual, not going to bore you all with my reasons for getting this chapter out so late. Being a father and new position at work, blah blah blah. I just hope you all enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 5
Naruto looked over the cards in his hand before drawing his new card, beginning his turn. "Alright, now it's my turn to show you how it goes," he said as he looked at his new card, a strategy to best utilize his cards forming in his mind. "The first monster I'm going to summon is going to be Shadow Beast- Eagle in Attack mode!"
The pitch black bird flew up towards the sky before releasing an ear-piercing screech as it landed in front of Naruto.
"Now I will utilize my monster's special effect to draw another card from my Deck, though I'll have to give up 500 of my Life Points. Let's see if it will be worth it!" Naruto drew his card as his Life Points dropped.
Naruto- 3700-500= 3200
"I activate my Spell Card, Shadow Beast Schematics to add a Shadoe Beast monster from my Deck to my hand, but instead I'll give up more of my Life Points which equates to half of my monster's Attack. This will allow me to summon the added monster instead of just adding it to my hand. So go Shadow Beast- Panther and give our buddy some company."
Shadow Beast- Panther LV3, ATK: 1400 DEF: 1400
Naruto- 3200-70p= 2500
"Now in case you all have forgotten, when he is successfully summoned to the field, then I can pay 700 of my Life Points to add a Shadow Beast card from my Deck to my hand and I choose to add my Corrupted Pool of the Shadow Beasts. Next, I'll activate Shadow Beast Hunt from my hand. Now by destroying my Panther, I can destroy any and all monsters you control that are weaker than double his Attack Points. I lose 300 Life Points for each card destroyed, but oh well. Now go!"
As before, Shadow Beast- Panther growled as it turned into black mist and covered both of Akiza's monsters. When the mist cleared, both of her Evil Thorns were gone.
Naruto- 2500-600= 1900
The Audience
"Kid made a smart call there," Tanner said getting the groups attention. "Akiza's monsters self destruct and could cause him some issues if she does."
"But he lose the same amount of Life Points to do that than if he were to just let Akiza use Evil Thorn's effect," Dexter countered in confusion. "Wouldn't it have been smarter to save it for later?"
"Normally you would be right," Tanner said. "But remember how Akiza plays her duels. She uses field presence along with destruction to burn her opponents. Most of those effects require her to have a Plant type monster. But if he destroys them and avoids her to gain that presence…"
"Then he weakens Akiza's plays!" Luna finished in surprise. " Naruto is amazing!"
Tanner nodded, surprising the others. "He knows her playing style and is adapting his duel perfectly to counter hers. Yeah he singed himself at the moment, but if be keeps her at bay, then he could easily regain that lead later."
"Yeah go Naruto!" Leo cheered, excited to see a good match as he pumped his fists.
'Go get her, Naruto,' Luna cheered mentally.
Back to the Duel
'I really hurt myself a good bit there with that play, but it's better than her having a Field lead on me in any way,' he thought before continuing his move. "Now since I had to give up a monster, I will replace it and Special Summon a new monster to join the fun. I summon Shadow Beast- Arachnid."
The new monster appeared into the field besides Eagle. It was a pitch-black spider that had no special features shown. It was pretty tall as he was up to Naruto's face and a bit wider than his body. Along its body were cracks that glowed a neon green color. It had six eyes that were neon green with red pupils.
Shadow Beast- Arachnid LV3, ATK:1400 DEF:1000
"I unfortunately will lose another 700 Life Points to do it, but it will all be worth it into end, Akiza."
Naruto- 1900-700= 1200
"And what could you possibly do with your Life Points being brought down so low?" Akiza asked in confusion, not having actually seen his duels. He nearly brought his own points down to zero for her, all on his own. She couldn't make sense of his strategy.
"It's all part of the plan," Naruto replied. "I will now play my Corrupted Pool of The Shadow Beast. By giving up my Arachnid, I can now burn you for half of her Attack points while I gain the other half."
A pool of black water rose underneath the blackened spider, as the spider sunk into it. The water bubbled before shooting out and rushed at Akiza. Four sprouts of the Black water slammed into her, causing her to grunt in pain.
Akiza- 4000-700= 3300
Naruto- 1200700= 1900
"I will lay three facedowns and end my turn."
(Naruto- 1 monster, 3 facedowns, 0 cards in hand)
Akiza wordlessly drew her next card, beginning her turn. "I summon the monster Violet Witch in Attack mode."
Violet Witch LV4, ATK:1100 DEF:1200
Her new monster took to the field, staring down Naruto's monster. "Next I will activate my Spell Mark of the Rose. This will turn your own monster into my own personal servant!" A rose-like tattoo appeared on Shadow Beasts- Eagle's forehead. It screeched before flying over to Akiza's side, joining her other monster in staring him down.
"Amazing! The Black Rose has taken Naruto's only monster," the announcer said as he stood up. "This has left the young duelist with no monsters on his field to defend himself."
Naruto grit his teeth, seeing his own monster stolen from him and unwillingly staring him down.
"I think I will use my new monster's ability to draw a new card at the cost of some Life Points now," Akiza continued as she drew a card while Eagle's eyes glowed bright.
Akiza - 3300-500= 2800
"Now I'll attack you directly with my Shadow Beast- Eagle! Shadowing Dive!"
"Not so fast Akiza! I activate my facedown Trap card," Naruto continued as one his trap cards flipped over. "I will use Negate Attack to both stop the attack and end your Battle Phase altogether!"
A distortion appeared in front of Naruto, stopping the attack as it deflected the bird back to Akiza's side of the flied.
Akiza looked unfazed by the counter of her attack as she activated her other facedown card, revealing it to be her Vengeful Servant. "I now equip my Spell card to Shadow Beast- Eagle, so now when it returns to your side of the field, you will still take damage for each of its Attack points." Naruto's eyes widened as he remembered her doing this move Sir Rangsbord earlier in the tournament. "I will lay one new card facedown and end my turn, returning your monster back to your field and use the power of my Vengeful Servant."
Naruto's monster screeched before rushing at Naruto who barely got out of the way in time of the spiral dive, it's beak cutting his cheek. This caused it to leak small trickles of blood.
Naruto- 1900-1000= 900
(Akiza- 1 monster, 2 facedowns, 1 card in hand)
The Audience
No one cheered or made a sound, all of them worried for Naruto after he was cut from the attack. All focused on the blood on his cheek, a reminder that Naruto was in real danger during this duel.
Murmuring soon began to rush around the stadium as Naruto wiped the blood from his face. Some hoping he would forfeit the duel and avoid any more pain.
But no one in the stadium were more worried for Naruto than Luna was, as her heart clenched tightly in her chest after seeing his wound. She felt the urge to run down there and plead for them to end the duel before Naruto got seriously hurt. Before a move took place that couldn't be taken back. She didn't know why, but she hated seeing her new friend get hurt.
Unfortunately her plead was unheard as she watched Naruto draw his next card. All she could do was pray for him and hope for the best as Naruto did not look like he was backing down in the slightest.
'Please be careful, Naruto. Don't push yourself too far.'
Back to the Duel
As Naruto drew his card, he felt his Eagle feeling apologetic for its assault to him. Naruto smiled towards his monster, showing he had no hard feelings about it. His monsters in his Main Deck may not fully come to life like his Extra Deck monsters do, but they could still convey their emotions and intentions to him well enough.
"First things first," Naruto began, still looking at his monster. "I'll now activate my beasts special ability to draw another card from my deck."
Naruto- 900-500= 400
"Next I will play my Relief of The Shadow Beast. With this, I can target a Shadow Beast monster in my graveyard and send it back to my deck, allowing me to gain Life Points equal to that monster's Attack points. I choose my Shadow Beast- Arachnid!"
Naruto- 4001400= 1800
"Now I play my second Spell, Shadow Beast Cloning. I tribute my Shadow Beast- Eagle which will allow me to Special Summon a Shadow Beast monster of equal or low level than it from my deck. I now summon my Shadow Beast- Owl in Defense mode."
Shadow Beast- Owl LV3, ATK:1200 DEF:1700
"Now I activate her ability to target a DARK monster on my field and gain Life Points equal to its Attack points and I choose herself!"
Naruto- 18001200= 3000
"Now I activate my facedown, Life Stream of Shadow Beast Creation. This continuous Trap card will give me double the Life Points that I paid to activate a Shadow Beast monster's effect during the End Phase. So, I will end my turn and gain Life Points from Shadow Beast- Eagle."
Naruto- 30001000= 4000

Akiza drew her card, her eyes locking on her hand. 'Can't do my usual strategy, but definitely can start a play to get things really rolling!' "Alright Naruto, now it's time I start to show you how to really duel in the big leagues. And I'll start your lesson by tributing my Violet Witch to advance summon. Rose Tentacle!"
The Plant type monster rose from the ground as multiple vines swirled around it.
Rose Tentacles LV6, ATK:2200 DEF:1200
"I think I'll change the setting more suited for my Rose Tentacle and I can't think of a better one than my Black Garden! Be mesmerized by its beauty!"
Like many times already, dark green vines shot out all around the two duelists and littered the ground. Black and purple roses bloomed all throughout the vines.
The Field Spell made Naruto sweat as he knew that this spell really started Akiza's plays. He needs to stop this before things got bad and too hard to handle.
"I will now activate one of my facedowns, Ivy Shackles. Thanks to this doozy of a Trap card, every monster you control on your side of the field will now become a Plant type monster."
Both duelists watched as green vines shot from the card and wrapped around Shadow Beast- Owl, surprising the monster.
"And now that it's a plant monster, the true power of Rose Tentacles can now be unleashed. Not only does she get an extra attack for each of your plant monsters, which your little owl is now, but you will get slammed for 300 Life Points for each one that is destroyed. Now attack!"
Rose Tentacle raised one of its many vine 'arms' that now rushed at Shadow Beast- Owl.
"That's what you think!" Naruto yelled. "I activate my facedown, Shadow Beast Darkness Veil. Stopping your attack and allowing me to draw a new card."
Akiza looked unimpressed as she ended her turn.

Naruto grit his teeth as he drew his new card, trying to think of a plan to take control of his quickly waning control. He glanced at Akiza's monster and to the two cards in his hand. 'There has to be something that I can do with what I have right now.'
"I play my Shadow Beast- Turtle in Defense mode! And while I am at it, I will banish my Shadow Beast Cloning from my graveyard to add a DARK monster from my graveyard back to my hand. I choose my Shadow Beast- Eagle!"
Shadow Beast- Turtle LV4, ATK:600 DEF:2000
Before Naruto could say anything else, dark green vines wrapped around Naruto's new monster.
"When a monster is summoned onto the field, not only will it lose half of its Attack Points but a Rose Token will now bloom onto my side of the field."
Rose Token LV 2, ATK:800 DEF:800
Shadow Beast- Turtle, ATK:600-300= 300
"I activate Owl's special ability to target himself and gain his power as Life Points." Shadow Beast- Owl glared as Naruto regained some more points.
Naruto- 40001200= 5200
"Naruto has brought himself back from the brink of defeat!" the announcer yelled getting cheers from the crowd. "But will it be enough to weed out the garden of the Black Rose! Or will he get lost in the garden with no way to escape as we have seen her comebacks before!"
"Not much else I can do here, but end my turn!" Naruto said.
(Naruto- 2 monsters, 0 facedowns, 0 cards in hand)
Akiza drew her card and assessed that the card she drew will not help her at the moment. " Rose Tentacle, make stew out of that Turtle. Attack!"
Akiza's monster growled as it's eyes glowed before wrapping its vibes around Shadow Beast- Turtle before the thorns grew and impaled it as the beast was destroyed. Then another vine shot forward and slammed into Naruto due to the redhead's monster's effect.
Naruto- 5200-300= 4900
"And don't forget, since your monster is a Plant type monster due to my Ivy Shackles, my Rose Tentacle gains another attack. Now attack his Shadow Beast- Owl." Like before, several vines wrapped around Owl.
"Not so fast, I can stop my monster's destruction by paying Life Points equal to half of her attack. Go, Shadow Guard!" Shadow Beast- Owl's red cracks glowed as it's body turned into black mist with hints of red, just in time to avoid being skewered by the thorns.
Naruto- 4900-600= 4300
"Your turn, Naruto."
(Akiza- 2 monsters, 2 facedowns, 1 card in hand)
'Any monster I play gets weaker because of Black Garden,' Naruto thought as he drew his next card. 'I have to plan a way to get around it!' "I play my Shadow Beast- Eagle in Defense mode!"
"Do your thing Black Garden," Akiza said as vines wrapped the Winged Beast monster, weakening it as a second Rose Token grew on her side of the field.

Shadow Beast- Eagle LV 3, ATK: 1000-500= 500
The Audience
"Man, Akiza has Naruto completely on the defensive right now," Leo said as he watched the match closely. "He can only defend his monsters or else they will get obliterated by her card's."
"If he plays a monster it will get weaker," Tanner replied. "Not only that, but with each monster she will get a Rose Token. On top of that, it will also work in reverse and fill up Naruto's field with monsters for her to just knock it down."
"So to take control, he needs to get rid of Black Garden," Dexter said as he looked to the blue haired man. "That way Akiza can't do as much and his monsters will gain their strength back."
"It's not just that Dexter," Tanner said. "Akiza's attack actually hurts Naruto and that alone turns this duel into a stamina duel. And it's still bad due to the fact Akiza seems to have a lot more experience. His cards may be unique, but Akiza is a lot more experienced and is prepared."
Luna sat to the side, getting more worried with each word that was said. He was doing good with staying in the duel, but the longer he stayed then the more danger that he was in.
"You are in real danger in this duel," Luna whispered, unaware that Leo heard her and even looking at his twin. "Please Naruto, be careful. I don't want you to be hurt."
'Luna,' Leo thought confused by her worry. 'You have always been a nice person but I have never seen you so worried for someone you barely know like this before.'
Back To The Duel
"I activate Shadow Beast- Eagle's ability and pay 500 Life Points to draw a new card," Naruto said while drawing a card.
Naruto- 4300-500= 3800
Glaring, Naruto set a card facedown. "I'll play a facedown and activate Owl's special ability and end my turn."
Naruto- 38001200= 5000
"Oh yeah, let's not forget about my Trap card, Life Stream of Shadow Beast Creation. I'll now gain double the life I gave up to draw my card!"
Naruto- 50001000= 6000
(Naruto- 2 monsters, 1 facedown, 2 cards in hand)
"Now it's my turn," Akiza began her turn. "I play my Spell card, Fragrance Storm to destroy my Rose Token. In return, I am allowed to draw one card from my deck and if it is a Plant type monster then I will be able to draw another card. " Akiza drew her new card as her token vanished in rose petals and revealed that she drew Phoenixian Seed and was able to draw a second card.
The burgundy haired psychic grinned as she placed the monster she drew on her duel disk. "I summon my Phoenixian Seed in Defense mode!" A burnt red pod appeared on the field in Defense position before it opened up a now revealed, singular eyeball before its entire body turned a pale blue. Vines wrapped around it due to the Field Spell and another token appeared on Naruto's field.

"Damn, another token," Naruto whispered as he looked at his involuntary monster. "Even if I get rid of them to play a monster, it will just get weaker because of her Black Garden."
"And now I'm going to release my Phoenixian Seed to grow into mu Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis!"
The pod's eyes opened wide as it glowed and opened up as a red stalk burst out from it. It grew as it bloomed into a new monster.

"And with a new monster on my field, a new Rose Token grows on yours. Now it is time to battle and I hope your ready."
"Naruto is in a real predicament!" The announcer yelled into his mic. "Due to Ivy Shackles and all those Rose Tokens along with Rose Tentacles being able to attack all 4 of those monsters this Battle Phase!"
" Amaryllis's attack his Shadow Beast- Eagle!" Thin vines came from her monsters sides before wrapping around Eagle before crushing it until it was destroyed.
"Now due to your monster being in Defense mode, you don't lose Battle Damage, but your Life Points are far from safe. You see, whenever she destroys a monster by battle, she self-destructs and will deal you 800 points of damage!"
The Plant type monster exploded as chunks of it rushed at Naruto, who held up his arms to brace for impact. The force of the impact caused Naruto to cry out in pain as he was knocked off his feet.
Naruto- 6000-800= 5200
"I told you should have gave up," Akiza said coldly as Naruto slowly got to his feet, in a lot of pain. "Maybe now you will listen!" She was surprised when Naruto only grinned at her and got back into place. "Fine, I guess only real force will make you understand and it starts now!"
Firstly, I'll activate from my field facedown card, Blossom Bombardment which activates when one of my plant monsters successfully destroys one of your monsters. You now take damage for each one of its Attack points! Now go!" A heavy swirl of rose petals rushed at Naruto who could only brace himself as the petals covered and cut his body.
When the petals vanished, Naruto's body was littered with small cuts and his clothes had a few small tares. Naruto glared as he raised his duel disk back to its place, refusing to go down. He drowned out the concern of the crowd and even his own monster.
"Let's see if you can keep standing as I activate my other facedown known as Magic Planter to destroy my Ivy Shackles to draw two new cards from my deck. Next, I still have my attack with Rose Tentacle or attacks in this case. And since the start of the Battle Phase you had four Plant type monsters, she can attack five other times. This is going to hurt a bit. Attack the Rose Token!"
'No, if this goes through then I'm done for!' Naruto thought. "I activate my facedown Mirror Force. This will not only stop your attack but destroy all of your Attack Position monsters."
A colorful barrier appeared that stopped the Tentacle before shooting out beams of light that destroys all of her monsters. This counter caused everyone in the stadium to cheer, seeing Naruto beating the Black Rose.
'I wanted to save that card but I had no choice,' Naruto thought. "I will now set two cards facedown and then end my turn."
(Akiza- 0 monsters, 2 facedowns, 1 card in hand)
"Also let's not forget that Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis returns to my field while a Rose Token will bloom onto yours." Green vines wrapped around her Defense mode monster while Naruto gained another token.
Naruto drew a card and took a quick glance at his cards and monsters, not trusting Akiza's facedowns. 'I have no way to get Bear back onto my field, but I can't let her keep that monster on the field. It's time to really push her into a corner so she brings out Black Rose Dragon and I will take it down!'
"I summon to the field, Shadow Beast- Tiger in Attack mode!" Naruto said as the pitch black tiger roared onto the field as a Rose Token grew on Akiza's.
Shadow Beast- Tiger LV 4, ATK:1600 DEF:900 [Beast, Effect] DARK
"Now I'll activate my Shadow Beast- Owl's special ability to gain more Life Points, but this time I'll target Tiger!" The Winged Beast type monster absorbed energy from its ally before giving it towards Naruto.
Naruto- 60001600= 7600
"Next I'll use Shadow Beast- Owl's last special ability. By paying Life Points equal to its original Attack Points, I can treat him as a Tuner monster!" The cracks along the birds body glowed as it spread its wings. "I tune Shadow Beast- Owl with two of the Rose Tokens to Synchro Summon!
When thoughts hidden in shadows reveal itself, may it shine bright to show the muscle of the Dark Stars! I Synchro Summon, Dark Star Minotaur !"
The giant monster appeared in a beam of light as he shook the arena with a mighty roar as it raised its weapon.
Naruto- 7600-1200= 6400
Dark Star Minotaur LV7, ATK:2800 DEF:2300 [Beast-Warrior, Effect, Synchro] DARK
Dark Star Minotaur, ATK:2800-1400= 1400
As per usual, the Black Garden Field Spell activated and weakened Dark Star Minotaur while giving Akiza her second token. "I will now activate my Shadow Beast- Tiger's ability to pay Life Points equal to half of his Attack Points to summon a Shadow Beast Token to the field!"
Shadow Beast Token LV2, ATK:800 DEF:800 [Beast, Token] DARK
"And since it's a token, then your Black Garden does nothing in response. Also this level two token can be treated as a Tuner monster."
Naruto- 6400-800= 5600
"Lastly, I will now tune my level four Shadow Beast- Tiger with my level two Shadow Beast Token to Synchro Summon once more!
May the dark flames of the darkened stars give birth to the ever living flames! Burn bright with the shadows of fire! I Synchro Summon Dark Star Pheonix !"
The pheonix burst onto the field in a bright light as it's purple flames came to life as it screeched.
And now that she has been summoned successfully, I can target a Shadow Beast monster in my graveyard and slam you for damage equal to their Attack. I will target my Shadow Beast- Tiger!"
Dark Star Pheonix screeched as it fired wisps of fire at Akiza, who didn't even flinch at the oncoming flames.
Akiza- 2800-1600= 1200
The Audience
"Man that kid really is something else," Tanner said as he raised his fist. "He took full control with that play and now he commands both the board along with the Life Points lead!"
"Yeah I was getting worried that he wouldn't be able to handle that last onslaught," Dexter grinned, enjoying the duel. "But that response and combo were really awesome. And now he has two powerful Synchro monsters on the field." Leo stood up as he pumped up while watching the duel.
"Yeah his moves were like woah and that combo was like fwoosh! His monsters are just so cool!"
"So does that mean that Naruto is going to win?!" Luna asked excitedly while Mr. Yanagi looked on with a gentle smile.
"That remains to be seen unfortunately," Tanner replied with his arms crossed. "Akiza so far has shown to be a very dangerous opponent, especially when pushed back. Not only that, but who knows what else she has waiting. Let's see how he continues and plans to keep his new position in this duel."
On the other side of the stadium was Wolfe who was leaning on a railing as she watched the duel. "He really is a skilled young," she complimented. "But it doesn't matter against Akiza. All he has done is give our beautiful rose information on his dueling style and soon she is going to take full control."
Back To The Duel
"I now activate Dark Star Minotaur's special ability!" Naruto said as his monster roared. "I can now banish one card on the field and once I do, he can make a second attack this turn. And I can't think of a better target than your Black Garden."
Dark Star Minotaur huffed heavily as his scythe glowed before stabbing the blade into the ground. The dark energy spread around and began encompassing all the vines before completely destroying the Black Garden. This not only freed the two Synchro monsters, but restored their original Attack points back to normal.
Dark Star Minotaur, ATK:24001400= 2800
Dark Star Pheonix, ATK:11501150= 2300
"And just like that, Naruto's monster are firing at full cylinders!" the announcer said. "With these next attacks, Akiza is about to take a serious hit!"
" Dark Star Pheonix, let's burn away some of those weeds for her," Naruto commanded. "Attack one of her Rose Tokens. Falling Dark Star!"
"Not so fast boy," Akiza countered as she activated one of her facedown cards. "I activate my Trap, Wall of Thorns. Much like your Mirror Force card from earlier, this Trap card will stop your attack and destroy all of your Attack position monsters simultaneously."
Thick green vines rose up in front of Akiza's monsters, created a wall that blocked the black flames from roasting them. Also several vines rushed forward and attacked each of Naruto's monsters.
The only monster that wasn't destroyed from the onslaught on Naruto's field was his Dark Star Minotaur who stood angrily while glaring at Akiza.
"By banishing my Shadow Beast Schematics from my graveyard, I can prevent my Dark Star Minotaur from being destroyed," Naruto said. "Now I'll have him get a little payback by attacking a Rose Token. Midnight Slash!"
The Synchro monster roared as it raised its axe before its muscles bulged and tossed the weapon at the token, intent in destroying it.
The beautiful Psychic Duelist simply smirked and active her second Trap card. "I now activate Draining Shield to not only negate your attack, but also absorb all of it's Attack points and convert it to my Life Points!
A barrier of light encircled Akiza and her monster as Naruto's second attempt at an attack was stopped.
Akiza- 12002800= 4000
Naruto grit his teeth, not expecting a Draining Shield to be used by her. "Fine, I'll use his second attack. Get that Rose Token!"
Dark Star Minotaur caught his axe before re-tossing it at the token once more, this time actually destroying it.
Akiza- 4000-2000= 2000
"I will end my turn with one card facedown. Your move, Akiza."
(Naruto- 1 monster, 1 facedown, 1 card in hand)
"Also lest we forget, I gain Life Points that used for my Shadow Beast- Tiger back thanks to Life Stream of Shadow Beast Creation, times two."
Naruto- 56001600= 7200
"If this keeps up, Naruto's Life Points will remain untouchable," the announcer hyped up the crowd as they cheered. "Naruto is almost at double his starting Life Points, sitting at a healthy 7200!"
Akiza wordlessly drew her card, barely glancing at it as she looked unbothered by her opponent's massive lead on her. Taking into account of Naruto's field, she felt it best to knock all cards down one-by-one.
"I first summon to the field my Twilight Rose Knight in Attack mode!" she said as she summoned a small knight that was clad in dark armor holding his drawn blade, a purple rose adorning his outfit.

"Now I'll tune my level 3 Twilight Rose Knight with my two level 2 Rose Tokens! I hope your ready because your not the only who is capable of making big plays!
Chilling flames engulf the entire world. Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! I Synchro Summon! Appear now, Black Rose Dragon !"
A chilling ring of reddish-purple fire encircled Akiza before a beam of light hit the ground behind her and a dragon made of red rose petals appeared with an intimidating roar.
Dark Star Minotaur looked enraged at the sight of the dragon as the black stars in his eyes glowed. Naruto's entire deck, especially one specific card in his Extra Deck, gained a menacing aura that was so powerful, it began to give Naruto himself a headache.
This pulse of rage and hate got Luna's attention as her eyes locked onto Naruto's deck, ignoring the pulse of pain she felt on her right arm that glowed at the sight of the now destroyed, Dark Star Pheonix. Not noticing as the pulse of pain increased at the summon of Black Rose Dragon.
Yusei and Jack both had to grab their own respective Signer marks as they felt the same pulse of pain as the distracted Luna when Akiza's ace monster roared onto the field.
"I use my dragon's special ability to remove one Plant type monster in graveyard from play and make one of your monsters Attack points go to zero. And I choose to banish one of my Evil Thorns to target your Dark Star Minotaur. Go Black Binding Bloom!"
Black Rose Dragon bit down on an ethereal version of the banished Plant type monster as black vines rushed from the dragon and wrapped around Dark Star Minotaur.

Naruto was shocked as he didn't know that Black Rose Dragon could actually do that!
"I now switch my Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis to Attack mode and have it attack your Dark Star Minotaur!" The red plant wrapped its vibes around its victim and destroyed the giant beast, causing a small Shockwave that pushed Naruto back.
Naruto- 7200-2200= 5000
"And don't forget that now that it has attacked, she will now self-destruct and slam you with 800 points of damage. Brace yourself, kid."
Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis glowed red for a brief moment before exploding and sending burning shrapnel at Naruto, who cried out in pain as his body was bombarded by the assault. He fell to his knees as he tried to catch his breath, blood dripping off his body and nearly tathered up shirt.
Everyone in the audience looked on in horror and worry for the young child while chanting for Akiza to be kicked out. Saying that she is a menace and that no one wanted her there. This only served to hurt and truly anger the psychic duelist.
Naruto got back to his feet and grinned at Akiza, feeling for the girl but not wanting to back down from the match. "Is that all you got?" he taunted. "Your not getting rid of me that easily."
"Maybe this will keep you down then," Akiza said in a rage from the audience's words. " Black Rose Dragon, attack!" Black Rose Dragon roared as it released a torrent of purple and black flames mixed with black rose petals, engulfed Naruto who cried out in pain again.
Naruto felt the fire lick at his bare skin and it slightly scorched at his clothing. Naruto rolled out of the fire, but had trouble getting up due to the pain he was feeling.
"You don't have to keep doing this to yourself," Akiza said to the downed Naruto, having snapped from her rage induced mind at Naruto's cry of pain. "Just stay down and give up. You have done well enough, but I don't want to hurt you. So please, just stay down and take your loss as it is."
Naruto grit his teeth as he stood back up, doing his best to keep himself from toppling over. "Like I said," Naruto sighed. "You are not getting rid of me that easily. You need to give up on me giving up."
Naruto- 5000-2400= 2600
"Fine, I'll just have to beat the stubborn personality out of you," Akiza replied, confused why Naruto was still going. "I'll lay one card facedown and end my turn."

"And don't forget that my Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis returns to the field in Defense mode!'

'This duel is much tougher than I thought it would,' Naruto flinched from the pain throughput his body. 'If I'm not too careful, I may not get out of this.'

Before anyone tries to say anything, yes, I know that Black Rose Dragon's effect is different in real life than the anime. I'm only keeping it this way for this part of the duel, like it was in the anime. During the tournament arc, that is how the card was used and that is how I'm going to use it.
