Lisa announced her latest project which was "operation force field" Lynn and lenis eyes widen, stunned at Lisa's latest invention idea. While Lincoln is unfazed by Lisa's comment.
"What how the hell can you make a force field I thought those things were only in movies."
"Well, Lynn my simple-minded sister it's not as hard as you think to create one."
"Well duh obvious it isn't hard for you are a Junius, your properly going create this forcefield in like 5 minutes."
"Thanks for the compliment, however, I'm not creating my inventions as you think creating inventions takes time and dedication".
So, I'm going to give you a task, scratch that all I'm going to put in your terms so you can understand, a competition.
Lynn's eyes widen in intrigue" you have gained my interest Lisa carrion."
Well, thank you, Lynn, anyway Iv overheard that you have your rematch in 4 days. So, I want to help you succeed, however, I suggest you prepare for this event. Iv creating these robots to test your skills, agility, and reaction time. With my robots, you are going to face a series of obstacles which is going to test your own skills and team skills. This competition I'm making is going to test your strengths and weaknesses you are going to need to prepare for this, this isn't going to be an easy task to push through.
Listening to Lisa's plan. Lynn closes her eyes and focuses on her mind, trying to see if letting her sister's plan will work. She knew that Lisa was smart and that she can make robots like there a piece of cake. But she worries she might program them to be too strong which would wipe the floor out of her.
While still in thought Lisa taps her to get her attention.
"Lynn, I know you are worried that I might program these robots to be too difficult, but I won't. I will use your DNA in these robots to make them have the same skill level as you. Like a leveling system in a way"
With that Lisa gets her remote and presses it causing the screen to change slides from the slide showing the louds their strengths and weakness to showing different robots with levels.
"There are 5 levels Lynn thinks of them as easy to expert mode for example. Level 1 is well you know easy with basic knowledge and understanding however level 5 how advanced knowledge and understanding able to destroy their competition with ease."
"I won't let any stupid robots be better than me Lisa. I will train to become the best."
"Your optimism and confidence are great Lynn. Turning off the screen with her button" the competition as I said will be tomorrow so get training, these robots are going to give you a hard time."
Well, jokes on you I'm going to start training straight away Lynn is number 1!" Dashing out of the room screaming Lynn is number 1 pumping her hand in the air not caring that her 3 other siblings are watching her.
Lisa watches Lynn walks out of the room glad that Lynn decided to go on board with her plan. She knows that Lynn's competitiveness and determination will make Lynn train harder than usual. However, in the back of her mind, she hopes that she hasn't begun the catalyst of Lynn completely training herself to exhaustion so that she won't be able to compete tomorrow or compete at 100%
Done with her thoughts Lisa looks around her room. Looking around the room she notices that Lincoln is missing she turns to see Leni next to her.
Looking up at Leni she says" so Leni where did Lincoln go?"
"He said he went to go into his room to read his ace savvy comics"
"So, want to continue our experiment".
"Sure, Lisa that would totes be cool".
The two carry on their previous experiment. Having fun and enjoying each other company finding out new information about their sisters through DNA. While there are experimenting, Lincoln is in his room reading his ace-savvy comic. Wishing that when he's older he could work for a company that produces Acy-savvy. Not only brings an 11year old boy he can only dream. Lincoln Finishing the latest volume only in his underwear sits up from his bed and puts his clothes on. he puts on his usual attire, making his way to the door until…
The door opens on its own and his sister Luan.
Hey Lincoln, what's up?
Nothing much really, I was going to do something, but you arrived so I forgot what I was going to do.
Luan chuckles at Lincoln's comment" sorry Lincoln about making you accidentally forget what you were going to do" taking a couple of steps into his room and sits on his bed "however I need you to help me with something important.
Lincoln looks at her with intrigue "help you with what exactly Luan?
"You remember that one time when I needed your help with clowning?"
"oh, wasn't that the time when I got an ego for thinking I surpassed you in like 2 days or something? Lincoln rubbed his chin trying to think more about that situation" also wasn't that the time when I blew it at the emo party, and you clutched up and saved me at the last minute?
Luan smiles at Lincoln at remembering the memory" yes it was Lincoln. So, what do you say for old times' sake will you help me with one of my gigs?."
Lincoln glad that Luan wants him to help her responds with" of course Luan! I would love to help you with your gig.
"Thanks, Lincoln. I knew you are reliable when I'm I need help. I tried asking the others, but they didn't want to help me because it was apparently "out of their style" whatever that means".
"I don't mind stepping out of my comfort zone to help my sister so Luan what kind of gig is it?
"It is very similar to the ones we did together in the past. But remember Lincoln this time don't let your ego get the better of you. Or you will pay the ultimate price.
"th… th… The ultimate price!" fear in his voice and visually shaken by Luans comment.
"Oh Lincoln, I was just joking come on I won't do anything bad I promise."
Ok fine, I am thinking If I got onto your bad side then you would make my life a living hell with all of your pranks. Shuddering from his last comment ", especially on April fool's day"
Luan laughs at Lincoln" don't worry Lincoln. I won't do anything… yet" this causes Lincoln to shudder "you know I save the best pranks for April fool's day".
Lincoln feeling relieved says" yeah that's true. So, what kind of gig is it. Please don't be an emo gig you know what happened last time". Cringing at the memory
"It's a children's birthday party. I need someone to help me with the juggling part of the show. I know you are not an expert with juggling balls. But I've seen you do some neat tricks with those balls of yours. So, you will be good at this.
Lincoln listening to what Luan wonders if she just made a secret joke. But shucks it off and smiles at her" yeah, I can help you Luan, so when is the party?
"Tomorrow Lincoln, I'm sorry that it's so short notice but I needed someone to help me and you're the only one who has said yes to my offer".
"Don't worry Luan I would love to help. I'm going to start training straight away Luan.
"Thanks, Lincoln I knew I could count on you see you later.
Luan walks out of Lincoln's room closing the door on her way out. This leaves Lincoln on his own with his thoughts thinking about tomorrow's gig with Luan. He lays down on his bed content with his thoughts.
Throughout the day, the louds were having a blast spending time with each other. Lisa and Leni were busy in Lisa's room testing out various kinds of chemicals to see what reactions they could produce with different chemicals. They were so engrossed in their experiments that they didn't notice time passing by.
Meanwhile, Luan was helping teach Lincoln how to get better at juggling, showing him the flow and the rhythm with her hands, juggling the bouncy balls like a pro.
Lori and Luna decided to make a music band together to try to get closer to each other as sisters. They discussed what kind of music they wanted to play to give the band a certain kind of tone. They went through lots of different instruments to see which instrument would work and not work. They were both ready to create something special.
Finally, lily, Lana, Lola, and lucy were outside in the backyard doing various activities on this bright sunny day. Lana was chasing Lola around trying with mud and lucy was lying down next to a tree with lily reading her poetry to lily.
Later, in the evening at 8 pm, it shows the moon and stars shining down brightly in the night at the loud house residents. With the night peering through the window like a curious visitor. Lynn is in her bedroom doing sit-ups in the corner to improve her body.
"48, 49, 50, a man getting to 50 was way harder than I thought it would be" panting and tired from exercises she lies her body on the floor" am I ready for tomorrow's match against Lisa or am I just going to lose again."
While lying on the floor and staring at the ceiling. She begins to pounder with her thoughts of the outcome of tomorrow's match. She knows that she has been training hard for tomorrow, but she can't stop thinking about how she going to lose and how she might regress to the version of herself from yesterday. Even tho it has only been a day since the incident with Lincoln she has learned a lot about friendship, forgiveness, and being able to talk to others about her problems.
While questioning her thoughts in her mind she gets interrupted by a sudden knocking sound. Starting at first she looks around to see if it's coming from behind her, but regaining her composure she notices that someone is knocking at the door.
"Come in" sitting up from the floor.
Lincoln enters the room closes the door and says" hey Lynn I wanted to check up on what you think about the outcome of tomorrow's match. Do you think you're going to win or lose?"
Lynn looks at Lincoln with gratitude and apprehension at his presence and says". I don't know Lincoln to be honest. It has been training hard, but I don't think that iv got what it takes to win."
Lincoln walks over to her sits beside her and puts a hand on her shoulder and says" it doesn't matter about the outcome tomorrow, Lynn. I and the others will still support you if you lose. I'm just glad that you are trying."
Lynn happy by what Lincoln has told responds to Lincoln with" thank you Lincoln that means a lot to me."
With that, they sit next to each other for a bit enjoying each other's company. Sitting next to each other for about 5 minutes Lincoln sits up from the floor and is about to leave the room but turns around to look at Lynn and says" good luck tomorrow" then leaves closing the door.
Lynn blankly stares at the closed do to for like 3 minutes with her thoughts. She snaps back to reality, regaining her composure she goes back to training for tomorrow's competition unbeknownst to her slowly harming her body in the process. Making them tired will make their body ache and make them not perform at 100% skill.
After a couple of hours of training her body gives in. causing her body to collapse and making her go to sleep. While asleep she knocks on lucy's coffin which smashes against the floor causing it to make a massive thud sound. Piercing through the floor it causes lucy and Luna who are watching tv done stare and jolt in surprise at the sound. Not saying a word, they both look at each other and nod going up the stairs to check what the thud was. Both noticing that sounded like it came from Lucy and Lynn's room they both enter. To be only met by a sleeping Lynn on the floor, surprised by the sight they both walk closer to the sleeping Lynn to check what's up.
It seems like Lynn is dead Luna don't you think".
No brah she's just tired. Let's gently grab her and put her in her bed, ok?"
"Sure"
Luna and lucy slowly but gently pick up Lynn slowly laying her down in her bed covering her body with her quilt keeping her warm through the night.
With both Luna and lucy putting Lynn in her bed. They both stare at her sleep glad that she can sleep comfortably in her bed.
While watching Lynn sleep a thought comes up in her mind. She turns to lucy and says" hey lucy. Don't you think it's the strange dude that Lynn has been upstairs on her own all day?
"Hmm, not really Luna. Some people just like to spend a day on their own every so often. I don't think it's usual.
"For you, it isn't for Lynn it is. She always likes to spend time with others, bro. do you think something is bothering her?
Lucy thinks for a moment and answers with" maybe but let's not pry now. Let's see how she acts in the next couple of days.
Luna nods then they both leave the room without making a sound.
Lynn gets woken up in the middle of the afternoon by the sun beaming through the window. Now awake she begins to rub her eyes, slowly being able to see fully she looks around the room to see if her sister lucy is in there. Being awake she realizes that her body feels like it's been hit by a truck. Her body is achy and fatigued like she hasn't had a good night's sleep at all. Realizing that it is the afternoon she moves the bed covers off her, and she gets out of bed slowly dangling her feet at the edge of the bed. Feeling exhausted She gently puts one foot onto the floor to how much balance she can get.
Feeling better she stands on the floor. Lynn decides to look around her once more to see if her sister lucy is in there. She even checks the vents to see if her sister is there because it's her sister's favorite spot in the house to write her poems. Realizing that she is alone she decides it would be the best decision to take a nice cold shower to ease her aches and pain. She begins to walk to the bathroom, still feeling the exhaustion from yesterday.
Once in the shower, the cold water hits her like a truck sending chills down her spine. Moving in and out of the shower her body finally accepts the cold water letting her body become one with the water. After a few good and long minutes in the shower, she exits the shower and puts a robe around her body. Walking back to her bedroom she gets dressed up in her usual attire. Noticing that the house is oddly quiet she heads downstairs and seeing that nobody is in the living room she checks the rest of the house. Finding out that no one is in the house she looks at her phone to see if she has been messaging anything to do with her family's sudden absence. Scrolling through her phone to find she hasn't been left a message she goes into the kitchen and grabs herself a protein bar to eat. While eating her protein bar she looks through seeing a random with a baseball cap. Intrigue she opens the back door to see Lisa sitting on the ground reading one of her chemistry books. Lisa noticing Lynn's presence looks up and smiles at her.
"Hey Lynn, I've been expecting you".
"What do you mean you are expecting me? Also, where is everyone else?"
"Everyone else has gone for a day out at the mall today. I decided to stay back and guard the house.
"Why would they leave you to guard the house? Shouldn't they have picked Lori because she's the oldest?"
They did pick her but insisted because I wanted versus you in the competition today.
"Competition what competition?
"I guess your oversleeping has affected how your brain works so let me explain. Yesterday I offered you a baseball match and you accepted. Does that refresh your brain?
Lynn nods her head trying to recall the events of yesterday. She vaguely remembers Lisa asking her to a baseball match which she accepted.
Oh, right I remember now so you are challenging me to a game of baseball.
Yup, my overzealous sister. Iv has been practicing my skills also I said yesterday that I will be splitting it up into 5 parts of difficulty.
"What do you mean by difficulty".
Basically, Lynn, it's from difficulties 1-5. 1 being the easiest while 5 being the hardest. Over time the robots that you are up against will get harder and harder until it reaches the final level. If you beat the level 5 robots, you win. So, what do you say you are still my over-energetic sister?
Lynn takes a minute takes a moment to process what Lisa has said. She feels a mixture of excitement and nervousness like she did when Lisa offered to play against her. Playing against robots makes her feel more nervous because the robots are programmed to win and not make any mistakes.
Lynn finally comes to terms with her thoughts and says." I'm in"
With that Lisa brings the robots into the backyard to get ready for their match. She takes out her button creating a force field around the garden. Lynn looks aw at the force field. Seeing all the energy flowing around. Regaining her attention, she notices Lisa has another remote that she's just pressed. With her press, this causes all the robots to have a yellow glowing 1 at their chest to show their skill level. With their shiny metal exteriors and their advanced technology, she knows this game is going to be tough.
"So, are you ready to start Lynn?"
"Of course, I am but I got to get my gear".
Lynn runs inside to get her gear. Coming back inside she sees that the pitch has been set up. She gets into position to pitch. The first robot gets into position. Lynn launches the ball at the robot and the robot swings the ball toward her. As the ball sails toward her Lynn grabs the ball with ease.
Lynn and the robot swap place and Lynns turn on the offense and the robot turns on the defense The robot weakly throws the ball. The ball collides with the bat smashing up in the force field causing it to rocket downwards to the robot destroying the robot pieces.
Lisa realizing that the level 1 difficulty is too easy raises the level by 2 to make it challenging for Lynn. After the destruction of the level 1 robot, a level 3 robot comes to take its place. The robot has a blur 3 appearing at its chest.
Lisa with confidence in her voice says" this is where the true fun begins Lynn. And also, the score is 2 – 0 to you".
Lynn with competitors in her eyes says" don't worry I'm only warming up".
Lynn takes back her old position as pitching as the level 3 robot takes the position of the batter. Lynn spitting on the ball for good luck lobs the ball at the robot. The robot hits the ball effectively. Lynn goes up to coach the ball, but a sudden spike of pain hits her, and stumbles onto the floor.
Lisa's court of guard says" Lynn are you ok?"
Lynn gets back up and says" I'm fine just a random pain spike".
Lynn and the robot swap places but Lynn is starting to feel fatigued from yesterday's nonstop exercise catch up to her. She weakly stands in place. Having a loose grip on the ball. The robot lobs the ball at her but she lightly hits it making it easy for the robot to catch and score a point. The score is 2-2.
Lisa looks at her with concern and says" Lynn are you ok.? You seem a bit out of it."
Lynn trying to hide her pain says" it's fine I'm just tired today. But I can still pull this through."
Lisa reluctantly agrees and raises the level of the robot by 2. The robot now has a pink glowing 5 at its chest.
Lynn walks back to her old spot noticeably slower than usual. She puts on extra protective gear knowing that the robot has a high chance of hitting her. She grabs the pool and throws it at the robot. The robot hits it with ease with a lot of force. Lynn prepares to catch the ball. The ball collides sending her down onto the floor losing her the point.
She gets back up cautiously battered from the pain and swaps places with the robot. The robot lobs the ball at her.
Lynn gives it her all with her last swing hitting the ball, her eyes slowly shut like her soul has left her body, and her body becomes rigid then she collapses to the ground landing her face first into the ground. Lisa instantly presses the 2 remotes removing the force field and the robot.
Seeing Lynn collapse Lisa runs towards her" Lynn are you ok!"
Lisa sitting next to Lynn is panicking for her life" oh god what have I done? I shouldn't have done this experiment it put Lynn's life in danger.
Lynn regaining consciousness looks over at Lisa" I'm sorry Lisa". Turning her head away" I failed you".
"What do you mean you failed me, Lynn?".
Lynn with tears forming in her eyes says "I put so much effort into this. "Wiping her tears "I trained all yesterday for this competition. I tried my best, and even in trying my best I wasn't good enough to win".
Lisa looks down at Lynn with sorrow look and says, "Look Lynn the challenge I set you wasn't determined if you won or not."
Lynn looks up eyes widening with tears falling from her eyes at Lisa.
"It's about proving that you can put in the dedication to become the best. You might have lost my overzealous sister; you lost the battle. However, in my eyes, seeing you pushing yourself to the limit, heh, that's everything I wanted to see. So, you lost the battle, but you won the war."
Lynn listened to what Lisa said. Her tears start to slowly fade away and she slowly stands up still dizzy from the fall trying to regain her balance but almost falls again but Lisa catches her.
Thanks for catching me, Lisa. I'm surprised that your body can handle my weight.
"Same too Lynn."
Lisa helping Lynn regain her balance allows Lynn to successfully stand up straight. Lisa decides to walk with Lynn around the garden to see if Lynn can keep her balance. She can somewhat walk but has difficulty doing so.
The two stop at the backyard entrance door. Lynn looks down at Lisa.
"Thank you, Lisa, I got so caught up trying to win that I forgot to keep myself and my body in check".
Don't beat yourself up, my overzealous sister. It happens to the best of us, you tried your best and that's what counts
"That's right Lisa! I shouldn't let one loss stop me from striving for excellence. I guess next time I should still train but not train too much that my body gives in."
Exactly Lynn! You always make sure that you're keeping your body healthy. Also, maybe next time when you go against my robots you might come out on top.
"Yeah, maybe next time. But iv still got a long way to go."
"And I will be on your side in the journey to the very end"
The two of them take a moment to appreciate each other's company. Looking around they see that it's already sunset. Maybe Lisa's force field might have changed the weather but one thing that has guaranteed change is the bond between Lisa and Lynn
After their moment of silence, Lynn hugs Lisa and says "Thank you, Lisa. So, what should we do?".
"I recommend you go inside and get some rest. You don't want to be putting your body in any more pain." Lisa grabs Lynn's hand "don't worry I will help your body relax."
Lynn looks down at Lisa and says" thank you" she grabs her hand as well.
Both slowly walk back to their house like a good ending in a movie. They both didn't know that much about each other today, but today's experience has changed both of them for the better.
