I'm back after months, sorry for the delay. I have a lot of things, for starters, I was full-on on my new story "Ghost Rider 2077" that I wrote exclusively for AO3. It all started when Cyberpunk: Edgerunners came out and it destroy my emotionally, I saw all that copium on twitter and youtube, then I started to read the fanfics, while they are plenty that are great, I saw that most where the same kind of story.
That where I have the idea of using Ghost Rider on that story, and people love it. Is by far, my most well received story that I made. Also, it was incredible easy to write and I feel less restricted to a canon and specific norms that I did, for example, with this story. While I have some original stuff like chapter 8 and this chapter, I must write a lot of things that happen on Persona 3. That's why I felt so bad coming back to this story.
So, I have to remake my plans for the story, so that I don't feel as restricted as before. The chapter is short, but is a full fight from beginning to end. I like how it ended, I hope that you like it too.
Chapter 11: Benkei the Onikawa
For the last two weeks, Kashida Naoki was the definition of a monster. An unstoppable being outside humanity compression, one that seem impossible to hurt less to kill. Now, that nightmarish monster was bleeding. He was being impaled by a large naginata.
She was completely shocked but at the same time afraid. His performance last night show him that he was beyond their initial predictions, her analysis concluded that she had 14% chances of killing him if they were to engage. In other words, he was a dangerous individual.
So….in what category could that demon enter if he was able to impaled Kashida Naoki so easily?
And still….he didn't seem to be scare or worried. He extended his left arm and open his palm.
"Divine shot!" An energy bullet blasted the demon's face, the damage was enough to make him lose his grip on Kashida Naoki. Now on the ground, he crossed both his arms in a cross and jump. "AGGG!" He tackle his opponent to the chest, he dragged him two meters but his body didn't fall.
The demon known as Benkei, grabbed his left arm and toss him to the shrine. Kashida was able to land on his feet on the roof, but he didn't see that Benkei was raising his spear.
"Tenka!" He swing his weapon, making a shockwave that destroyed everything on its path. When it reach the shrine, the structure exploded into thousands of pieces. It was like she was looking into a natural catastrophe. In a matter of speaking, because the dust blind her.
Aigis saw a light inside the dust, suddenly fire balls were tossed at Benkei. The big man deflected the attacks with his spear. She realized that this was a distraction, and it was confirmed when her classmate appeared behind him with his fists on fire.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGG!" A barrage of punches were striking his back. Benkei was clenching his teeth, enduring the pain. He turn back with a circular slash, one that Naoki ducked below it. Taking advantage of his opening, he jumped high enough to reach the other man's head and kick his temple. "ZIONGA!"
The kick came with a lighting attack, a name that she was familiar with. An electric spell that Sanada Akihiko could do with his Persona. Although, his lighting was stronger than her human companion. Even so, it wasn't enough to bring him down.
Benkei tighten his grip and push forward. Naoki was able to stop the naginata with his hands. IT was a contest of strength, both demons were given their all to not let the other win. But, all of the sudden, Benkei let loose his weapon and approach Naoki. He put his giant hand on his face and grabbed it. The young demon was incrusted to the ground, thanks to that, the bigger demon was able to recover his spear and attack. He had the tip of his spear about to stab Naoki's neck, the boy was grabbing the tip with his hands. All his strength was being canalized on that point of his body, his hands were bleeding and the spear was touching his neck.
*FoooSH!*
A whirlwind separated them, Naoki was several meters away from Benkei. He recover immediately and was back on a fighting pose.
The robot girl was completely speechless. Since the start of the fight, her body didn't do nothing. Not a single movement, completely still. She…didn't know what should she do, this was beyond her programming. Was this his normal life? Was this a common activity for demons? She was full of questions.
Benkei stomp took her out of her thoughts. He make a long jump and dive with his spear on a speed beyond 300KH per hour! Naoki merely dodged that attack with a jump. But Benkei was faster than him and grabbed his ankle. Then he proceed to whack him multiple times to the floor. The demi-fiend was upside down, facing his enemy. He open his mouth and spit fire. The giant man was on fire but he didn't seem to mind, he hold his spear and attack.
But before being impaled again, he punched the spear, moving the attack towards the arm that was holding him. Benkei grunted when his own weapon pierce his forearm, Naoki got free and started his next move.
"MAGMA AXIS!" She recognized that attack from the testimony of the S.E.E.S members when he used his powers for the first time. A devastating blast of fire make a whole on Benkei's chest. Naoki was panting, that fight was a toll on him. Aigis was sure that she wouldn't be able to sustain that level of fighting even with her Persona. "Aigis."
"Y-Yes!"
"You have to say who win-"
*Thud!"
Suddenly, he was flying away from where he stood. He crashed to the stone wall, breaking it in the process.
"AAAAH!" He screamed of pain, he was facing the floor. "Buaaarggh!" He vomited blood, he was severly injured.
"KASHIDA-SAN!"
"DON'T COME!" He yelled at her, his hand making a stop gesture. "YOU'RE NOT ALLOW TO HELP ANY OF US-BURAG!" He was keep vomiting blood, his eyes were bloodshot and he was coughing, all systems of an internal bleeding.
"Listen to him, young lady." Benkei talked, he was still standing even with a hole on his chest. "This is duel, a battle between two men. You're just our judge, you are just here to deliver who is the winner. And can only be known in one way." He took away the naginata for his arm and "Kuhyakukujūku hito no senshi!"
Hundreds and hundreds of weapons were fired at the young boy. It was like looking at an avalanche of weapons, all of them, hitting him at the same time. He wasn't able to react when the attack dragged violently from the temple.
Aigis lost notion of how many times those weapons hit him, but it was terrifying just the thought of it. The attack lasted fifteen seconds, Naoki was nowhere to be seen but yes the amount of blood he lost from that attack. To call it a bloodshed was being short….then she remember that party and without realized she was on her knees.
"Young lady." Benkei called for her but she wasn't paying attention. "Are you hearing me? Do you realize your role as a judge?" Her role? Was she supposed to do something? "Please, declared the-"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" A scream came out from the woods….it didn't sound human. It was like an enraged wild beast. From the sky was falling streams of lights, they were aiming at Benkei. He open his mouth and yelled.
Aigis covered her earing devices, his scream made enough soundwaves to stop the beams. Then he was hit by a lighting on his injured arm, at the end of that lighting, was Naoki. He was covered in cuts and blood, his pants were torn and his green tattoo turn red. The mechanical girl was scared of him, he didn't look as the calm and cold person from before but a wild and mad….demon.
He punched the ground and made an earthquake, this disable Benkei to have a stable ground to do his attacks. On Naoki's left hand was a light weapon, he jumped again to his enemy. He clove his weapon into the injured arm, the big man grabbed his spear and stab him. But Naoki let him stab him, he used his leg to stop the spear from reaching his heart.
Naoki moved his weapon or rather light sword, and by doing pried with his body, the weapon severed Benkei's left forearm. The man wined his eyes in surprise, Naoki was on the ground but even with a hole in his chest and a missing arm, the legendary warrior had still fight inside him.
Benkei make another poke with his Naginata but once again the demi-fiend stopped his weapon. But his strength wasn't as before, his injures were taking a toll on his body. Slowly, the tip of the weapon was about to pierce his heart. But his eyes started to glow, another action that she was familiar with.
"Freikrugel!" Two powerful eye beams destroyed the weapon of the demon, the tip was still intact, and so he took it. "DIE!" He screamed as hard as his lungs let him, he was about to impaled his face with his own weapon but Benkei stopped the blade with his hand. But he planned to get stopped by him, he immediately did a spin and push the tip with his elbow. The sharp metal get inside his eye, before he could give another strike, Benkei did a descendent kick on Naoki's shoulder, crushing him into the ground.
Then he proceeded to stomp his head with his foot, he punched his leg but he only press further. He was screaming in pain, he was about to die. He remade his light sword and stab him repeatedly on the leg but it was useless, Benkei used his only hand to crush Naoki's.
"AAAAAAAHHHH!" Blood was coming out of his hand, she couldn't see what was happening but it wasn't good. He could lost his hand if he keep pressing. "AGI!" He casted a fire spell with his other hand, it was the weakest fire spell of all the Agi ones. But his objective wasn't to hurt him, but rather hit the blade incrusted on his eye.
A quarter of his head was gone along with that blade, Naoki looked at him with bloodshot eyes, and slowly free from his leg. He crawled off him, Benkei was standing there. Still. Like a statue.
He died standing. His unfallen body turn into ashes.
"The winner…." He said. "Who is the winner….?" He asked to her. The judge.
"Kashida Naoki…."
"Well said…." The barrier shattered into pieces, the battleground that they fight during the last half hour was gone. The temple was intact, no single scratch to be seen.
*Thud!*
Naoki's head hit the ground, his eyes were closed and he wasn't moving. "Kashida Naoki!" She recovered the control of her body and run towards him, she made an analysis on his body. His heartbeat was gone. Was he dead? No, the other one become ash when he died, so he was still alive but severally injured. He needed medical attention.
But…could doctors truly help him? He was a demon, his biology was completely different of a human or any living being on earth. The current medicine may not be able to heal his wounds, nor the resources of the Kirijo group. He was at his weakest at the moment.
Should she kill him?
Kashida Naoki has proven to be a threat for all of them, one that she couldn't eliminate under normal circumstances. But now he was at her mercy, she took out her silver blade. She knew that it could harm demons, a stab on his heart could kill him.
He wasn't a human, he was a demon. Her programming didn't forbid her to eliminate his kin. It was her task, to see his movements at all time and eliminate him if he turn to be hostile.
"Ara, you are in a predicament." Aigis turned her back, a girl was standing behind her. She looked young, like a high schooler. Her hair was white and short, and her eyes golden. She was wearing a velvet sleeveless dress with a pantyhose underneath. On her head was a tiny hat of the same color. "I wouldn't recommend you to kill him, it will be an impossible task to stop what is coming without his aid."
"I remember you….from that night…."
"Oh! Pardon me! I haven't introduce myself, my dear guest. I am Elizabeth and I'll be you attendant of the Velvet room."
"What you're talking about? Where do you come from?"
"You have plenty of questions but let me tell one thing: The Demi-fiend known as Kashida Naoki will die if he is not treated properly."
"I can't heal him."
"Of course you can't, my dear guest. Us in the other hand…." From thin air a velvet wood door appeared. "can."
