Yes, I'm ending this fic. Given its nature, it was bound to end arbitrarily anyway, though I was hoping to do more before that happened XD Alas. I've been going back and forth on this for a while, but once this fic reached its second anniversary and the amount of content I had produced during the second year ended up being a mere fraction of what I brainstormed, wrote down, and posted during the first one, I eventually had to come to terms with the reality that I had simply run out of ideas. This fic started out as a side project, one made up of short, episodic chapters that I could write quickly and start from scratch with the next one while being free to flex my creativity, but as I eventually learned, there are only so many ways to rewrite infamous SpongeBob episodes while also creating a satisfactory product that can stand on its own.

As I've stressed many times before, the goal of this fic wasn't to offer cheap catharsis by just halfheartedly changing the most loathed singular element of various bad episodes (Krabs winning in "One Coarse Meal", SpongeBob never realizing what he did in "A Pal for Gary", him never getting punished in "Demolition Doofus, and so on) but to tackle their most fundamental issues (being unfunny and unimaginative) and change them into something that would make for an interesting watch (or read) and that feels truer to the spirit of classic SpongeBob. This is also why it was inherently hard to come up with compelling rewriters for bad episodes that fall into specific categories (Squidward getting tortured, SpongeBob being an oblivious menace, Patrick being a callous jerkwad, etc.), as their homogeneity and usual lack of content beyond the sum of their parts gave me nothing to work with. And yeah, I have recently rewatched a bunch of episodes I hadn't tackled, like "Yours, Mine and Mine" and "Are You Happy Now?", and just had no inspiration. The former is literally just SpongeBob and Patrick acting like man-children with a dash of the latter being a jerk and absolutely nothing else (basically the ending of "Waiting" extended to 11 minutes), while the latter is about Squidward suffering clinical depression while SpongeBob tries to cheer him up with wacky antics (cuz those two mix like wine and oil XD) and (again) nothing else, and the same can be said about many others, such as "Choir Boys" or "Smooth Jazz at Bikini Bottom".

There are a few that I think could be rewritten into something more interesting and humorous but these specific episodes are so fundamentally broken, they would have to be multi-chapter rewrites, so if I ever get to them, they'll be their own fics, like what happened with "SpongeBob, You're Fired". Likewise, I might write other SpongeBob content should I feel inspired, but A Dash of Logic itself is overdue for retirement, and 25 (not counting the anniversary special and the spin-off) is a decent number of entries for this fic to end on. After all, as SpongeBob himself said, 25 is funnier than 24 XD
