Summary: Hitomi Kanetsukabe, known to the public as the pro hero Blue Moon, has to work on Valentine's Day. She laments the fact she has no one to spend it with before running into someone unexpectedly.

The absolute last person she wanted to see.

A/N: RAAAAAHHHHHH I'M SO OBSESSED WITH THEM GOODBYE.

Lol anyways ‼️IMPORTANT NOTES‼️
- This takes place sometime after Hitomi graduated from UA. She's been a pro hero for a few years now.
- This oneshot features a pretty new OC that I added into the training camp chapters (32-34). If you haven't read them or seen this OC already it's better for you to read those before you read this, so if you haven't already go check them out. ^^

If you follow me on Instagram you'd know. This pairing has been my obsession for almost 3 whole months now. GSKGKGDKSHD I GENUINELY CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT THEM.

I ended up being a bit late for this because of school and the comic art taking longer than I expected but it is what it is lol. Happy (belated) Valentine's Day and White Day! Enjoy 😏❤️💕

All she could look at was his indigo eyes.

Her hand was on his shoulder and she gave a gentle tug, pulling him closer. His right hand fell onto the table right next to her head, keeping himself upright. Even then, she couldn't stop staring.

Ghost.

That was the name of the man currently standing above her as they both stared into each other's eyes. She knew of his real name, of course… but Ghost… was all she truly knew him as.

The villain.

Hitomi was speechless as she continued to stare at him, taking in every feature, every detail. The way his brown hair framed his face, how his bangs hung away from his tired eyes. Underneath him like this, she could even see a hint of the scar near his hairline.

There was a silent, understanding exchange between their eyes and he placed his left hand on her cheek, making her cheeks flush further. She held her breath as he slowly leaned down, bringing his face closer to hers. His breath seemed to ghost her lips and she placed her hands against his jaw, pulling him in.

She closed her eyes as she felt his thumb rub against her cheek and their lips brushed.

Closer.

Hitomi's eyes opened with a start.

All she could see was the white ceiling of her bedroom.

Her head rested comfortably against a pillow, with her fingers gripping a familiar soft blanket tightly. She blinked a few times, trying to rid herself of the lingering sleepiness.

Hitomi then sat up, staring blankly down at her lap. Morning sunlight filtered through the small gap between the curtains covering her window, faintly lighting the room. She brought her hand up to her face, her fingers brushing against her lips tenderly, hesitantly.

A feeling of dread soon sank into Hitomi's chest and she held her cheeks, quickly feeling them flush underneath her palms. Her face was a deep red by the time her mouth fell open in an almost silent scream.

Almost. Her scream startled the birds outside her bedroom window.

WHY DID I… HAVE A DREAM ABOUT KISSING HIM?!

Several hours later -

"Blue Moon! Could we get a picture?"

Hitomi smiled warmly as a pair of teenagers ran towards her, a phone in the hand of one of them. It was two boys, around high school age it looked like judging by their school uniforms. They both had starstruck looks in their eyes as they stopped in front of her.

She nodded slightly in response to their request. "Sure."

They stood on either side of her, one slightly taller than her while the other was right around her height. The taller one held his phone up with the front camera open and Hitomi smiled, holding up a peace sign. There was a click at the press of a button and the two boys stepped away with wide grins. They both bowed their heads slightly after looking over the photo.

"Thank you so much!" they both said in unison.

Hitomi gave a two-finger salute in response. "Of course! Stay safe and do well in your studies."

The boys nodded avidly and bowed their heads one last time before turning away. As they left, Hitomi saw them hold hands, interlacing their fingers together as they walked down the sidewalk. It made her smile slightly and she continued her patrol, brushing her hair back with a deep sigh.

Everywhere she looked it felt like there were couples everywhere. That pair of boys wasn't the first couple to come up to her today. It felt like there was romance at every corner, too. Couple discounts, heart-themed products, the like. It was a given that kind of stuff would be all over on a day like today.

But man… did it make Hitomi feel a little lonely.

Nari and Yoshiho had plans once Yoshiho got off work. A lot of her old Class A peers would probably be busy with their own significant others, too. Bakugou was in Kyoto, and Tsuyoshi had been dragged to a mixer by his coworkers.

On any other day, Hitomi wouldn't have really cared… but seeing these couples all around her, she couldn't help but be reminded that she had no significant other, let alone friends to spend today with.

She chuckled dryly with another sigh as she looked up and down the street. "Being single on Valentine's Day sure is rough…" she mumbled.

She glanced down at the wrist guard of her glove, the digital clock displaying the time was approaching 6 o'clock. The sky was already twilight and Hitomi hummed softly.

"Hopefully all those gifts I sent out to everyone were delivered on time…"

She blinked when there was a slight vibration in her wrist guard, the inset LED display replacing the time with a notification.

A wanted villain was possibly sighted in the area.

"Any nearby heroes are requested to investigate immediately. Last sighted location: Awaseru Storage Units in Soreno Ward."

Hitomi looked up from her hand, doing another brief sweep of the area.

That's nearby…!

When she was sure no other trouble was afoot, she dashed down the street, following the address.

It was dark by the time Hitomi approached the lines of buildings, taking in the run-down and deteriorated state of them all. It was clear to her this location was no longer in use, despite the tall street lamps lighting the area. She walked down one line of units, glancing around for anything. A place like this would be practically perfect for a villain to hide away in.

The patter of her combat boots was quiet against the pavement and Hitomi continued scanning every block. Luckily, while the individual units were large the location itself was fairly small, so there wasn't much to comb through. Some units were shut tight, while others had their doors slightly open and exposing the inside. Some that she saw were wide open were completely barren while others had decaying cardboard boxes and other garbage inside.

She paused when she heard a faint hiss, like that of an animal, running towards the source of the noise. She made her way to another line of units, her eyes widening when she saw a cat run out of the open door of one of them. It scampered past her, disappearing into the nearby trees and Hitomi glanced at the unit the cat had emerged from, the roll-up door slightly ajar.

If the cat had reacted like that… that means something startled it.

She crept towards the unit, being as quiet as possible and pressing her back against the wall. She held her breath, listening in to the sound of some faint rustling and a quiet clatter. Footsteps seemed to follow.

Someone's in there!

Hitomi continued to listen, glancing around. It seemed like the person was alone… but there was no other way inside than through the roll-up door. She pulled down her blue goggles over her eyes.

A confrontation was inevitable.

With a quiet, deep breath, Hitomi bent down, placing her hand around the edge of the door. Her eyes narrowed and she grit her teeth as she saw black combat boots through the small opening, facing away from her.

Got you.

Her eyes glowed underneath her goggles and she shoved the door up quickly, standing to her full height. A force field lit from her hand, illuminating the space in a blue glow.

"Stop right there, villain!"

All she caught was a glimpse of a silhouette before there was a glint, causing Hitomi to dodge to the side. She felt a small object whizz past her head, soon seeing another, a shuriken she realized, fly past her and cut off a few stray hairs. Her eyes narrowed and she dashed towards the figure, the force field in her hand growing in size as she thrust her arm forward. There was a metallic clang as her plasma barrier finally lit up the villain, revealing a man that had blocked her force field with two black kamas.

Hitomi recognized those.

Her eyes widened as she took in the sight of him.

Brown hair. Indigo eyes. A black mask.

"It's you…!" she gasped.

Ghost.

He seemed to chuckle as they both struggled to overpower the other.

"It's been a while, Blue Moon."

He suddenly moved to the side and yanked her arm, causing her to stumble forward as he hopped onto a stack of crates against the wall. Hitomi growled and more force fields lit from her hands as her eyes followed him, seeing him jump to the top of the wooden crates. Right as she threw them at him, an image from earlier that morning suddenly flashed in her mind.

Him leaning over her.

Cradling her face.

Their lips pressing together.

Her fingers tangling through his hair as she kissed him.

Hitomi suddenly froze and her eyes grew as wide as saucers as her face flushed.

Kissing him.

Kissing him.

KISSING HIM.

WHAT THE FUCK?!

Her mouth dropped open and she crouched to the floor with a loud gasp, cradling her cheeks. Another shuriken flew towards her right as she ducked, flying right past her and hitting the floor. Hitomi's face flushed all the way down to her neck as a force field dome unconsciously formed around her, pure mortification overtaking every single thought.

Wh- Why am I thinking about that at a time like this?!

The way his hand held her face.

His lips.

A kiss.

Hitomi grit her teeth and moved her hands over her eyes, shaking her head frantically. As she did so, some more shurikens were tossed towards her, though with less force this time. They bounced off her dome of shame with quiet metal dings to the floor.

Stop stop stop!

Stop thinking about that!

Why are you even thinking about that?!

Kiss.

Him kissing her.

Her kissing him.

STOP!

A heat wave was going to form at this point from how flustered she was getting.

You're not some little high school girl with a crush! Stop getting flustered over it!

Stop… Stop even thinking about it…!

Why are you still thinking about it?!

"…Oi." She flinched when there was a knock against her barrier this time, looking up from her hands. Ghost was crouching down right in front of her with a brow raised. His voice was a quiet mumble as he spoke. "You're…"

He suddenly reached for his mask, pulling it down to his chin and exposing his face. "…acting really weird today."

Why oh why did her eyes have to zero in on his lips?!

Hitomi's face was as red as a tomato as she yelped, jumping back as her force field suddenly expanded. "Stay back!" There was a loud bang as the force caused Ghost to be knocked back, the villain yelling loudly as his head hit the floor. Her force field fell as she heard him hiss in pain and she gasped.

"Wha-! Sorry!" she spluttered, her cheeks still aflame. "Wait- No, I'm not! I'm not sorry! You're a villain!"

That's right! she berated herself as she stared at him. He still lay flat on the ground, his hand against his head. He's a villain! You shouldn't be apologizing to him, let alone fantasizing about kissing him!

Villain! Villain! She chanted it over and over in her head. Pro Heroes don't dream about kissing villains!

Ghost finally pushed himself up from the floor, rubbing the back of his head tenderly. Hitomi stiffened at his movements, a crimson color still adorning her cheeks as he huffed. "Ow…"

His eyes opened and he looked directly at her. Hitomi unknowingly scooted back slightly, holding her hand against her chest as their eyes met.

"What… is up with you today?" he asked with a raised brow.

"What- What's with me?!" Hitomi spluttered, her eyes narrowing. "Nothing is up…!" As if suddenly remembering their predicament, she made a small force field and threw it at him.

He only leaned his head to the side and it flew past him out of the storage unit. He looked over his shoulder, watching as it broke apart when it hit the trees outside. "Sloppy aim," he hummed with a shrug, turning back to her. "Something's up with you. It's weird."

Hitomi scowled and waved her arm at him angrily. "Weird?! I'm weird? Well, what about you, huh? Aren't you gonna throw some shuriken at me? Wave your kama around like you always do?! Huh?"

He only shook his head with another shrug. "…Nah, I don't think so. Not when you're being weird like this." He rested his elbow against his leg, leaning forward. "Something's clearly up. So…"

He grinned with a tilt of his head. "…what's the issue, bluebelle?"

Hitomi's mouth clamped shut as she stared at his smile.

Kiss.

Her face flushed and she turned away with a scowl. "Why do I have to tell you?! I shouldn't be fraternizing with the likes of you. You're a villain!"

Don't forget it! Villain!

"So?" she heard Ghost chuckle. "Nothing wrong with talking. We do that all the time."

"Yelling at each other while fighting is not the same as talking," Hitomi grumbled.

"You're the one that does the yelling. I just talk."

Hitomi scowled and finally turned back to him. He was still wearing that annoying sly grin and she held her hand up in a closed fist, as if threatening him. "Then why aren't we doing that right now?! You wanna talk, we can do that while we're fighting."

He shrugged. "You tell me. You're the one acting weird."

"And what's your excuse?!"

Ghost sat cross-legged and rested his cheek against his hand. "Because it's no fun… to fight like usual when something's up with you."

"Huh?"

"It's not the same. When something's bugging you or making you act weird you get all quiet. Frankly, it's boring." He shrugged again. "I finally run into you again after all this time. The last thing I want is for it to be boring. That's no fun. So…?" His eyebrows raised, as if prompting her to tell him what was up.

Hitomi only scoffed, yanking her goggles off her head and looking away. She didn't want to look at his face for fear of staring at his lips and thinking about the… dream. Nope. Not doing that.

And she definitely wouldn't think about how he said that he finally ran into her again. That almost made it sound like he missed her.

Nope. Not thinking about it!

"What makes you think I'd tell you?" she scoffed.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw him shrug. Even without the light from her quirk, the storage unit was faintly lit by the street lamps outside.

"Then don't," he said coolly. "We can just sit here until you're back to normal. But who knows… if you tell me, maybe I could help you."

Hitomi rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "I don't want your help. And no way am I telling you what my problem is." She bit her lip, fighting back the blush that was threatening to return to her cheeks. No way in hell she could say her problem was a dream about kissing him!

Ghost adjusted himself so he was sitting right next to her, with one leg flat on the ground while the other was bent up. He rested his elbow against his knee once more, placing his chin in his hand as he stared.

"If you think staring at me is going to make me talk, you should quit while you're ahead," Hitomi scowled. "I'm not saying a word."

She wouldn't look at him. She refused to.

Ghost only hummed.

He's staring. Oh god, please stop staring.

Hitomi clenched her jaw and kept her eyes trained on the shelves in the back. She would not break.

"Are you…"

Hitomi unwillingly glanced at him.

"…upset about being alone on Valentine's Day?"

It felt like a giant arrow was shot straight through her chest.

Hitomi's mouth dropped open and she turned to him, her eyes wide and narrowed. "HUH?!" she practically screamed, obviously offended. "NO! I'm perfectly fine with being single today! That's what you seriously think is bothering me?!"

So what if she'd felt a little lonely today? It was just a passing feeling she felt a… a few times- Only a few! Not enough to make her upset about it! He was so off! Completely wrong!

Ghost let out another chuckle, raising a brow. "That guess was a joke. But judging by your reaction and that red face—" he pointed at her cheeks and she flinched back— "maybe there's some truth to it."

Hitomi growled and looked to the side. She even scooted a few inches away from him. "Well, you're wrong. I'm perfectly fine. Fine."

"Sure, bluebelle. I believe you."

"I'm fine!"

"Yeah."

"I'm fine."

"Mhmm. You sound really convincing right now."

Hitomi scowled and turned to him with a glare, throwing her hands up in frustration. "What do you want from me, huh?! You expect me to say, 'yes, you're right!' I am upset about being single on Valentine's Day?! That I'm lonely or something? That I'm upset I had to be busy today, that I have no one to spend it with, not even my own friends? You expect me to tell you some sad story?! God!" Her head fell against her hand and her fingers tangled through her bangs. "You are so annoying. I should be kicking your ass right now- but instead I'm sitting on the floor of a warehouse because you decided not to fight like we're supposed to since you thought it'd be boring."

She sighed, holding her face in both her hands now. "God, what am I doing…?!"

This was happening… all because she got flustered from a stupid dream! Her mind had conjured up that stupid, ridiculous fantasy, one that she shouldn't have ever entertained because this was real life! But nooo… her hopeless romantic brain had thought it would be funny to imagine some 'forbidden love' kiss with an actual villain that had been the bane of her existence for years. Years!

Hitomi was not some high school girl who could fantasize about those things anymore. She was a Pro Hero in her twenties. And dreaming about that… getting flustered by it, too…

Good god, she was too old for this.

Maybe she should stop reading those romance books for a while.

The whole time she was having her mini breakdown, Ghost was just staring at her in amusement. "Wow…" he chuckled softly, finally prompting her to look at him again. "I'm actually a bit surprised you were willing to unload all that on me."

Hitomi's eyebrow twitched and she held her fist up. "Can I punch you right now? If I punch you, we can fight like normal, can't we?"

"No," he laughed slyly. He placed his hand on top of her fist, pushing it down gently. "Relax, bluebelle. After all that, I'm not in the mood to fight you this time."

Hitomi groaned. "Well, it's your fault this is happening. You're the one who said I was acting weird in the first place. Everything that I just said to you… That's… not even the reason I was acting that way. I don't even understand why you care."

"I'm naturally curious," Ghost shrugged. "You know that."

Hitomi rolled her eyes. Even from their very first encounter back when they were teens, he'd been curious about her.

"So," he hummed nonchalantly, "lonely, huh?"

"Gonna laugh at me?" Hitomi said dryly. "Seems like the exact sort of thing you'd taunt me for."

"I probably would any other time. But not right now. You're obviously upset."

Her lip jutted out slightly in a pout as she stared at the wall straight ahead. "And since when did that ever stop you? Don't you make it your personal mission to piss me off? That's what enemies do, don't they? Why the sudden change of heart?" She let out a flat chuckle, recalling something he'd said earlier. "What, you seriously think you can help me or something?"

Ghost shrugged. "Actually, I might have thought of one way," he said with a chuckle of his own, though it was more genuine.

That caught Hitomi's curiosity, as much as she hated to admit it. "Like… Like what?"

He shifted slightly and Hitomi turned to him only to find him leaning over her, his head bent down towards hers. Silver eyes met indigo and her breath hitched slightly at the sudden close proximity. Ghost seemed to grin as he stared down at her.

"I could be yours. Just for today."

Hitomi's brain short-circuited right then and there.

"Wh… What…?"

He- He couldn't possibly mean…?

"It's Valentine's Day. You're lonely. If you want me to, I could be yours so that you're not. Only for today, though," he added with another chuckle. "So how about it?"

Brain. Short-circuiting.

Does not compute.

Too close.

Hitomi's eyes suddenly fell down to his lips and she blushed, leaning back.

Oh god. Oh god.

"Don't… Don't joke about that," she said curtly, looking back at the wall. Her whole body felt stiff. "It's not funny."

Don't think about the kiss. DO NOT think about the kiss.

"I'm not joking," Ghost replied. There wasn't a single hint of his usual joking tone in his voice. He seemed completely serious. "You just wanted to spend today with someone you love. I get it."

Hitomi's expression softened slightly at his words. Knowing him, he was used to being alone. He'd been relying on himself ever since he was a teenager, even back when he was part of the League of Villains.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw him smirk. "So who else to spend it with but me?" he said, his joking tone returning.

Aaaand… of course he had to go and ruin it.

Hitomi scoffed, a scowl back on her face. "Oh, please. What makes you think I even like, let alone love you? Don't flatter yourself."

Ghost leaned towards her again, making her fight back her blush. She would not get flustered by him. No way.

"With the way you always chase after me, I would've thought otherwise."

"That's literally my job, you ass!" Hitomi shot back and he laughed again.

There were some things she was willing to acknowledge about him. A nice physique, sure. He kind of had to be fit to do all the things he did. The nickname he called her? It was… cute, admittedly, which was why she didn't bother to tell him to stop anymore. She'd gotten used to hearing it too, anyway.

She'd even say that he was handsome sometimes (though she would never admit that to his face).

But… physical attraction was one thing. Having feelings for him? Liking him? Loving him?

…No.

She was a hero and he was a villain. He annoyed her, pissed her off. She most definitely did not like him.

The dream suddenly flashed in Hitomi's mind and her face unwillingly flushed. She fought the urge to shake her head, instead sighing and gritting her teeth. That dream didn't mean anything.

It didn't.

"Tell me the truth, bluebelle." Ghost tilted his head back, his lazy, tired eyes fixated on her. Like nothing else could grab his attention. "You're telling me you feel nothing after all these years? Nothing at all?"

"Anything I do feel for you is definitely not positive," Hitomi grumbled. The dream from that morning meant nothing. Nope. It was probably some weird manifestation of all the romance plots she'd been reading to make up for her loneliness leading up to Valentine's Day. There's no way it meant anything, let alone that she had feelings for him.

She hated him. That's what she was supposed to feel.

"You sure?"

Hitomi forced out a laugh, running her hand through her hair. The blue strands untangled as her fingers combed through them. "Absolutely."

The dream. Meant. Nothing.

"Besides…" She sat up straight, her eyes half-lidded in annoyance. "What could you possibly do to make me feel better, anyway? You're a literal wanted criminal, so it's not like we could even go out." She suddenly made a face, waving her hand at him dismissively. "Ugh, I don't even want to think about it."

She wouldn't entertain the idea. Entertaining it was bad.

"Being mine for today?" She laughed dryly. "It's just… silly. Not to mention impossible. Today's almost over anyway."

Ghost only hummed, completely unfazed. "You're right. There's not much we could do anymore at this point. But… I know one thing I could do."

"And what's that?"

"Is it okay if I show you right now?"

Hitomi glanced at him, taking in his expression. It was his usual tired, nonchalant look. Totally unbothered and relaxed. Unlike her, who was flustered and stiff. She let out a huff, looking back at the wall.

"Go for it," she said flatly. "Don't even know what you could…"

She trailed off when he suddenly leaned towards her, placing his hand behind her as his breath tickled her ear. Hitomi's eyes widened as she felt his lips press against her cheek. It was a gentle, soft, and lingering touch that lasted only a few seconds. To her, though… those seconds seemed to last forever.

Just as quickly as he'd leaned in, Ghost pulled away, meeting her eyes with another smirk. Hitomi was on autopilot, her cheeks warm as her fingers traced over the spot his lips had touched. Her silver eyes were wide and she couldn't find it in herself to say a single word.

Not to mention Ghost's face was still incredibly close.

"I could give you much more than that," he said with a soft chuckle. "If you wanted me to."

At the sight of his typical, sly grin, Hitomi's brain finally jumpstarted and she gasped, her face now red as a tomato as she leaned back.

"Wha-! WHA-!" She stuttered that sound several times, holding her hand to her cheek and struggling to speak. Her voice was garbled in her throat and she stumbled all over her words.

That dream from this morning shouldn't have meant anything. So why was a kiss on the cheek from him flustering her as much as the dream had…?

The answer came to Hitomi right away.

Because this… was real. This was actually happening.

Ghost… had actually kissed her.

And he was offering more.

It wasn't… just some fantasy.

"Cat got your tongue?" he asked. "Though between the two of us, you've always been more of the cat than me." He let out another chuckle. More often than not he'd referred to their dynamic as a "cat-and-mouse game," because of how Hitomi had never been able to catch Ghost every time she chased after him.

Hitomi only blushed further, gritting her teeth and looking down at his chest. He was still far too close and she couldn't bring herself to look at his face.

More.

He was offering… more.

"If… if I… wanted more…" Hitomi stuttered out, finally making a coherent sentence, "you… you would…"

"If you asked me to, I'd give it to you." He leaned towards her once again, and this time, she didn't pull away. "After all, I'm yours. Only for today, though."

He kept saying that, that it was for today only, as if it was an addendum.

Only for today.

For today, he was hers.

Several questions were running through Hitomi's mind all at once.

Why was he even offering to be hers? What was the reason? How could he say such a thing so nonchalantly, with a straight face? Was he even flustered at all? Or was it just her? What exactly did having him even mean to him? What… What did he mean by more? More than a kiss on the cheek? Just… how far was he willing to take it? Why? Why? Why?

All these questions were bouncing around in her head, but only one was able to stand out from the rest.

Would… kissing him… feel like what she'd dreamt about?

That dream… shouldn't have meant anything. It should've meant nothing to her. It shouldn't have bothered her at all, shouldn't have even been a blip on her radar.

But now that she was here, sitting across from Ghost, with the offer of having him to herself and being given whatever she'd asked of him, that question rang over and over in her head, along with others.

How similar would kissing him be? Would it be better… or worse? Would he caress her cheek? Would he let her run her fingers through his hair? How long would it last? Would she even like it?

"So…" Ghost said softly, finally bringing all her thoughts to a halt. He still wore his sly grin. "Would you like more? Or was that little kiss enough?"

It wasn't enough.

Now that it'd been put in her head… that tiny, minuscule kiss on the cheek hadn't even been close to enough. Hitomi was wondering too much, desperate to get answers to all her questions. She had to know. She needed to know. She had become too curious to let this go now.

And as the saying goes…

Curiosity killed the cat.

But hopefully, for Hitomi… satisfaction would bring it back.

Their faces were still so close, and she glanced down at his lips. Before she could hesitate, second-guess herself, stop herself from doing it, Hitomi closed her eyes and leaned forward, allowing their lips to brush.

Ghost didn't move, didn't pull back, so she moved forward a bit more, leaning into him.

Oh god, was this a mistake? Was he really just messing with her? Had she completely misread the situation?

The doubts in her head all disappeared, however, when she felt him smile against her lips, responding to her timid kiss. She felt him place his hands on her jaw, pulling her closer and she had to place her hands on his chest to steady herself. Hitomi was blushing before, but based on how warm her face felt she just knew she was red from her ears to her neck as he kissed her.

Eventually, they pulled away and Hitomi stared into his eyes, her mind in a daze. There were no words exchanged as he pulled her in for another kiss, their lips meeting once more. Hitomi placed her hand on top of his as they kissed twice, then three times, then four. Again, again, and again.

That dream she'd had… it was nothing compared to this. That kiss she'd imagined had lasted only a few seconds, been a brief touch before she'd abruptly woken up.

This, though… The dream wasn't even comparable to this. The way his hands held her jaw was gentle, but the way he kissed her was the opposite, firm as if he didn't want to stop. She didn't want him to stop, either. She leaned in even closer, and soon one of his hands circled around her waist, pulling her into his chest.

Eventually, they both had to pull away to breathe and Hitomi was the first to finally break the kiss. Both were panting softly as she averted her eyes to his chest, too flustered to look him in the eye.

"W… Wait…" she stuttered, blinking rapidly. "Did you know I saw a cat around here? Did you even notice it? Were you the one that scared it? Why did it get startled?"

She was so flustered she was on autopilot, her mouth speaking rapidly before her brain could keep up and comprehend what she was saying.

"What are you even doing here anyway? Why were you in this storage unit? I came here because I was in the area and got an alert of a villain sighting meaning it was you. Did you know someone saw you? Why are you here?"

Ghost only let out a deep chuckle and tilted her chin up to make her look at him, making her face flush further. She was shocked she hadn't made a heat wave at this point.

"I was sent to retrieve something from here. Apparently it's really valuable to the person paying me." He suddenly pulled her back to him, making Hitomi squeak as their noses bumped. "But is that really important right now?"

Hitomi looked away sheepishly. "N-No… I guess it's not…"

"Good. Because I don't care about it right now."

And then he kissed her again, preventing her from running her mouth anymore to distract them. Hitomi eventually returned it, soon wrapping her arms around his neck to bring him as close to her as she could.

She couldn't think about anything else anymore.

Only about how much she wanted to kiss him.

She had no idea how long they spent on the floor of that storage unit. Maybe it was 5 minutes. Maybe it was 10. Maybe even 30.

Hitomi didn't bother to keep track. She was too caught up in kissing him over, and over, and over, running her fingers through his hair. It was just as fluffy as it looked. Ghost's hands went from her jaw, to her back, to holding her waist, and at some point she ended up in his lap.

They were finally interrupted, however, when a ringtone suddenly rang through the storage unit. It startled them both and Hitomi flinched back, panting slightly with her eyes wide as the sound echoed through the space.

Ghost didn't let go of her, his arm tight around her waist and keeping her from moving as his other hand fished around in his pocket. Soon, he pulled out a small phone and his face was lit by the screen, showing he was getting a call. Ghost huffed as he read the caller ID and pulled Hitomi towards him, making her squeak as her cheek was squished against his chest.

She went silent as he answered the call, holding her breath as she heard him speak.

"Ghost here."

The voice on the other end was faint, but Hitomi was unable to discern what they said and could only listen to Ghost as he responded.

"Ah… yeah, I found the place." His hand fiddled with her hair, twirling the long blue strands around his finger. She looked up at him, waiting silently.

"No… it was closed. Practically untouched when I opened the door. Uh huh… yeah, I found it intact. I'll get it to you tonight, so I'm expecting my payment when I get there." His eyes narrowed slightly. "All of it. Including the bonus for getting it quickly. Don't think I forgot about that part."

He soon pulled the phone away from his ear and hung up, putting it back in his pocket before turning back to Hitomi. When his eyes met hers, he smirked. "Sorry bluebelle, but I have to get going."

He let go of her hair and Hitomi pushed herself away from his chest, leaning back. "Oh! Um- uh- right."

She stared at him, waiting for him to get up only to see him glance down. "It's nice and all that you're so comfortable in my lap, but I can't move."

And finally the reality of their situation hit Hitomi full force, making her jump off of him with a yelp. She pushed herself up from the floor, her face a bright crimson as she steadied herself on the nearby table. Mortified.

Behind her she heard Ghost (oh god, she'd been making out with a villain for who knows how long…!) chuckle, hearing him get up as well. There was a shifting sound and some footsteps before Hitomi felt a tap on her shoulder, turning around to see him standing behind her. She whipped around to face him fully, cradling her hand against her chest and pushing herself back against the edge of the table.

"I- You- We- We just-"

Ghost was still wearing a smirk as he huffed, holding his hand up. Hitomi looked down to see he was holding her goggles out towards her, allowing him to place them in her hands. She clutched them to her chest, meeting his eyes with flushed cheeks.

"It's too bad we had to stop when we did, but I really do have to hurry," he said with a grin.

"W-Wait!" Hitomi spluttered. "Did- Did you even get what you needed?!"

Ghost held up his other hand, showing off a gold necklace with a large gemstone. Hitomi had no idea what kind it was, but it certainly looked valuable.

"I already had it by the time you found me," he said, stashing it away in his utility belt. He leaned towards her, placing his hand on the table by her waist. Hitomi's eyes automatically went down to his lips. "But then you went and distracted me. Pretty underhanded of you, Blue Moon."

Hitomi's eyes narrowed and she looked back up at him. "I- I didn't plan to…!"

She was cut off when he leaned forward, her voice getting muffled against his lips. Another kiss, one last time.

Just as quickly as he leaned in, he leaned back, indigo eyes meeting silver. "Sorry I couldn't be yours for longer than 40 minutes. I've got places to be."

He removed his hand from the table and stood up to his full height as Hitomi's jaw dropped in disbelief. She couldn't help but feel a little offended. "What-?! Why would you even offer that if you knew you had to leave anyway?"

Ghost chuckled, reaching for some of her hair. He twisted it around his fingers. "Sorry. I didn't think you'd actually take me up on the offer, let alone make out with me for more than half an hour."

Hitomi's face flushed and she grit her teeth. "Don't make promises you can't keep," she scoffed, looking away. Her hair fell out from between his fingers. "That's… that's just wrong."

Ghost turned away, rubbing the back of his neck. "Wow… seems like you really wanted me to be yours." He glanced over his shoulder with a smug smile, only for Hitomi to shoot him a glare. It made him laugh as he walked towards the entrance of the storage unit, reaching for the bottom. The loose door had slowly fallen closed while they'd been preoccupied, only prevented from closing completely by a stray box that had ended up in the opening when Hitomi first arrived. Ghost reached down for the edge, and Hitomi's eyes followed the outlines of his back as he pushed the door up, only to quickly look away when she realized she was staring.

"Oh yeah…" Ghost's voice echoed throughout the storage unit as he suddenly turned back to her, his black mask in hand. Hitomi gave him another glare as he smirked, pointing to his mouth. "Your lips are looking a bit swollen. I'd consider doing something about that."

Hitomi's eyes widened and her hand flew to her mouth, making her voice muffled as she spoke. "You jerk…!"

He only let out another chuckle in response, finally putting his mask over his face. Of course, he had something to cover his stupid (̶k̶i̶s̶s̶a̶b̶l̶e̶)̶ lips while she had nothing but her hand and bullshit excuses to cover up the fact she'd been sucking face for 40 minutes. Ghost gave her a nonchalant wave, reaching up for the door.

"See you around, bluebelle. Maybe next time we could make it to an hour."

That was what finally set Hitomi off.

"There won't be a next-!"

Before she could even finish, the door fell closed, making a loud thump as it hit the box that was still in the opening. Hitomi, finally realizing that he'd just left, ran to the door, shoving it open and stepping outside. She glanced around frantically, hoping to find him.

But he was already gone.

Knowing him, he'd probably used his quirk to get away undetected. As he always did.

Hitomi grit her teeth, falling back against the wall of the storage unit and hitting her fist against the concrete. "Damn it!" She cradled her face in her hand, sighing to herself in frustration. Crap. She'd come all the way here to catch a villain, and instead she had…

Her fingers traced over her lips and Hitomi unwillingly blushed. Even with her gloves on, she could tell they were a bit swollen. She groaned, fighting the urge to bite her lip and make it worse. Instead, she sank down to the ground, resting her head back against the wall and staring up at the dark sky.

She'd kissed him.

Kissed him multiple times, even. For more than half an hour.

Hitomi held her hands against her face, feeling the burning sensation in her skin. The cool night air tickled her flushed cheeks as she stared in disbelief.

This… was bad.

Really bad.

Perhaps… that dream had meant something, after all.

The next day -

"Ah, Blue Moon!"

Hitomi looked up to see one of her sidekicks, a rather new addition to her agency fiddling with their hands nervously. She was just about to enter her office when they'd called her.

"Um, I apologize, but your mail…"

"Oh, that?" Hitomi held up her hand, showing off a stack of envelopes. At the sight of them her sidekick's eyes widened. "I got them this time. Don't worry about it."

Her sidekick sighed in relief. "Oh, thank goodness! When I saw the mailbox was empty, I…"

"Ah, my bad," Hitomi laughed sheepishly. "Didn't mean to make you panic." She placed a hand on their shoulder, giving them a reassuring squeeze. "Seriously, don't worry about it. Relax, okay? You got this."

Her sidekick smiled at her words of comfort and bowed their head, returning to their station as Hitomi disappeared into her office.

She closed the door behind her and crashed into the seat at her desk with a sigh, tossing the mail onto the table. She straightened, however, when a small pink envelope was revealed in between the large white ones.

Hitomi pulled it out of the stack tentatively, observing it for a few moments. There was no address or sender written down.

She continued to look it over, but she couldn't find any flaw, any blemish, any indication it might've had a trap. The flap hadn't even been closed properly. Despite its suspicious nature, however… Hitomi didn't think it would bring her harm. She couldn't explain it. Something in her gut told her that opening this envelope would be okay.

So she pulled open the flap, turning it over and letting the contents fall out. Two small objects fell out, something that looked like it was wrapped in tinfoil and another that was cylinder-shaped with paper rolled around it. Hitomi picked up the tinfoil object first, her eyes widening when she realized it was a piece of heart-shaped chocolate.

A… gift?

The shape of it and the red color of the aluminum foil made it obvious to her that it was supposed to have been for Valentine's Day, which was yesterday. But… any and all gifts for her were taken in at the reception on the bottom floor to be looked over extensively (just in case stalkers, villains, or any other suspicious persons tried to send something to her). Unmarked envelopes like this, with no sender, practically never made it to her personal mailbox.

Hitomi put down the chocolate, leaving it unopened as she then picked up the cylindrical object. She pulled off the rubber band, unrolling the paper and raising a brow when a stick of honey lip balm fell into her hand. The paper even had handwriting on it, and she quickly realized it was a note.

'In case your lips are still swollen.'

Hitomi's eyes widened and her face flushed as she read it, quickly realizing who the envelope was from. Underneath the messy handwriting was a crude drawing of a…

Ghost.

"My lips are perfectly fine, thanks!" she growled, letting the lip balm fall to her desk as the note crinkled slightly in her hand.

Who did he take her for?! She'd already placed an ice pack against her mouth last night to reduce the swelling, so she definitely didn't need his stupid lip balm (though it wasn't lost on her that the one he'd gotten had honey in it, which could help soothe pain). Hitomi glared at the chocolate on her desk, fighting the blush that she could feel appearing on her face. She didn't need his chocolate either, not when Valentine's Day was already over and his stupid offer from yesterday hadn't even lasted an hour.

Hitomi crumpled the note into a ball with a scowl, letting it fall to her desk and resting her face in her hands. Her skin felt hot through her gloves and she shook her head rapidly.

If there was one thing Hitomi knew for sure, it was that she…

Totally hated that guy.

(Never mind the fact that she eventually ate the chocolate, and used the lip balm several times later that day. Or the fact that she wouldn't mind kissing him like that again.)

Nope, Hitomi totally hated him.

A/N: WHFGKGSKDHDHS.

Is this a bit cheesy? Oh yeah absolutely. But I live for this type of corny stuff honestly.

BTW some art is missing from this fic! For some parts I adapted whole entire scenes, which you can find on my Instagram account (hitomi. mimii).

I haven't even shown you guys much of them yet but I'm SO obsessed with Ghost/Hitomi it's not even a joke anymore. I even have a few other oneshots I've written but you won't see them because they spoil some major stuff about Ghost 😂

But AHHHHHHH HOPE YOU LIKED THIS! I genuinely really enjoy this ship, and I hope you guys enjoyed it too even though I haven't had the chance to share much about them (or Ghost in general) yet. Their dynamic gives me so much serotonin hehe

Also idk how to write kiss/make out scenes so sorry if it was awkward lmao. My single ass has never even held hands romantically with someone so I don't know how that shit actually works. Google's my best friend because I legit searched up "how long does an average make out session last" 😂💀
