I've looked at some of my planning so here's a bunch of bits and pieces I came up with:
- For their animagi, Ash is a pure white ferret and Lyra is a husky with bright blue eyes
- Lyra's Marauder name is Saph while Ash's is Polar
- Remus asks Lyra if they'd like to get together in their 6th year while it's Christmas time in Hogsmeade
- After school is finished, Lyra (having stolen money from her parents) secretly buys a cottage in the Lake District and surprises Remus with it and they move in together
- Lyra and Ash join the Order of the Phoenix along with the other Marauders
- Lyra and Sirius find out that Lily's pregnant while they all celebrate the twins' birthday and they ask Lyra and Sirius to be godparents
- Remus proposes to Lyra in May 1980. She comes home and he surprises her. The other marauders are hiding in a wardrobe so they can watch.
- When Harry's born James sends his Patronus to Lyra and Remus' house to ask them for help they immediately rush over and help out, becoming immediately enamoured by the baby Prongs.
- Lyra and Remus get married in a small chapel in Godric's Hollow in December 1980
- Lyra finds out she's pregnant a few weeks after the wedding; Remus is worried about it but Lyra reassures him
- Their daughter is born on the 27th of August 1981 and they name her Lyssa Sadie Lupin
- On the night the Potters died, Lyssa had been crying all night and Lyra is trying to calm her down but she can't find the husky plush that Ash gave her (Lyssa's favourite toy). She realises that she left it at the Potters'; so she goes to find it only to discover the damaged house. As she goes inside she slowly breaks at seeing the deaths but the sound of Harry's sobs make he go investigate his room. She finds Harry in his crib and picks him up. She hushes him and promises him that she'll look after him. As she goes outside she meets Sirius and, thinking that he was the Secret Keeper, confronts him. But he tells her what happened (she is annoyed at him for believing Remus was the spy) and she understands. Then Hagrid comes and Lyra reluctantly gives him Harry, knowing that she has to if it's what Dumbledore thinks is best. Sirius then tells her to go back home to her family while he deals with the rat. Remus is devastated when she tells him. The next morning on hearing the news of Sirius, Lyra's heart sinks but she knows that Peter must've done something to frame Sirius and she believes he's still alive. However, she doesn't tell Remus about it (whether that's because she doesn't want to admit to him that her twin thought he was the spy, or because she just doesn't think he'll believe her). They both morn the loss of their friends.
- When Ash finds out what happened she crumbles and ends up leaving England almost immediately. She moves the the USA and starts to rebuild a new life there; trying to hide from her past. It's hard for both her and Lyra as they recluse from one another - losing contact in their grief. But both still care deeply for one another.
- Lyssa's wand is Dogwood and Phoenix feather
- After her first year of Hogwarts, on Platform 9 3/4 Lyssa introduces Lyra to her new best friend - Ginny Weasley. As Lyra catches up the the Weasley parents, Ron comes over with Scabbers in hand. Lyra immediately recognises him for Peter and panics as Ron talks about being friends with Harry.
- When she finds out Sirius escapes Lyra decides that she's going to try and find him. That same morning Remus finds out that he's going to be Defence Against the Dark Arts professor for that year. Finding out about Sirius he says that he's glad he'll be able to protect Harry and Lyssa this year. Lyssa overhears this and asks why she'll need protecting; so they tell her about her uncle.
- With the other members of her family at Hogwarts, Lyra sets off on her mission to find Sirius.
- Lyra ends up finding Sirius in the Shrieking Shack that September and they happily reunite
- Lyra starts staying with Sirius intermittently

Here's a rewriting of the Sirius scene at the end of Prisoner that I did before I wrote anything else because I love it so much:
After being awake all day and last night worrying because Sirius finally told me about his escapades BREAKING INTO HOGWARTS, as soon as the sun has disappeared I drift into sleep. It isn't all that bad as it's Summer but I'm normally not this bad when I've not had much sleep. I've been sleeping as a husky just in case anyone comes into the house; a dog in an abandoned house is way less suspicious than a random person.
I don't get much sleep, however, before a loud bang wakes me up making me jump to my feet and looking around frantically I can't see Padfoot in the room. That is until a large black dog drags a red headed boy into the room by his obviously broken leg and places him on the bed beside my agitated form. Sirius then proceeds to transform back into his human self causing the boy to scream out seeing so called a murderer in the same room as him. This really annoys me. What on earth was he thinking? Kidnapping Molly's son; what was he thinking? This is surely going to get him caught and this time he'll be dragging me down with him.
I jump off the bed transforming back and slap him anger boiling up inside me, "What did you do? You can't just steal random people!"
"Calm down," he says, "I have my reasons. It's his rat."
"That doesn't make it any better!" I shout.
Then I hear noises coming from downstairs - somebody followed him. Before I see any person a ginger cat comes running into the room and lays on the bed. I've seen the cat before and it is one of the most intelligent cats ever I'm pretty sure it has some kneazle blood in it. But not long after three people run in heading straight to the boy. A girl with curly brown hair asks worriedly, "Ron - are you okay?"
And Harry asks, "Where's the dog?" Talking unknowingly about Sirius, who I glare daggers at.
"Not a dog, Harry, it's a trap." Ron says gritting his teeth in pain leading Harry to make a confused noise, "He's the dog - He's an Animagus!" The three new people that entered snap their heads around to face us but are disarmed by Sirius.
"Mum?" Lyssa's voice asks questioningly staring at me, "What are you doing here?"
I don't have any time to respond before Harry shouts, "Isn't it obvious she's helping him!" That hurt. A lot.
"I promise you we won't hurt you." I say smiling desperately, trying to break the tension.
Sirius isn't doing very well portraying his innocence though, acting extremely threatening, which they take as him threatening them not the rat. But they do not take this well and Harry comes to attack Padfoot, which I think he kind of deserves. He takes his wand back and has it pointed furiously at my twin but the orange cat lays on Sirius' chest shielding him this doesn't stop Harry's rage, though. Sirius tries to tell his godson the truth that he doesn't know the full story but understandably he isn't listened to. That's when a noise from downstairs snaps everyone out of their current state and the girl screams out, "We're up here - Sirius Black - Quick!" in a panicked tone.
In through the door rushes Remus and my face immediately flushes with nerves. He assess the scene and disarms Harry stopping him from doing something he might regret. He then turns to Lyssa and I before pulling me into a hug. At least I know he isn't against me and that he seems to understand what is going on. That's always good. But it truly is nice to see him after a year apart. Once we've finished our short meeting Remus goes to help Sirius to his feet to the curly haired girl shouting, with anger and betrayal laced in her voice, "I DON'T BELIEVE IT. You and him. I didn't tell anyone and I've been covering for you." She's now angrily pointing at Remus, "I trusted you, and all this time you've been his friend!"
Remus desperately tries to explain to the group of furious teens - including our daughter, "You're wrong, I haven't been Sirius' friend for twelve years, but I am now. Just let me explain."
"NO," the girl says cutting him off, "Harry, don't trust him, he's been helping Black get into the castle, he wants you dead too and - he's a werewolf!"
This causes a wave of silence before Remus clears it up, although Lyssa's face doesn't show shock only betrayal seeing that she believes both of her parents were helping Sirius Black - notorious murder, "Not up to your usual standard, Hermione," so that's her name, "only one out of three, I'm afraid. I have not been helping Sirius into the castle and I certainly don't want Harry dead. But I won't deny that I am a werewolf." He pauses watching the panic spread across the two boys, "Snape'll be delighted he set that essay hoping that someone would realise what my symptoms meant. Did you check the lunar chart and realise that I was always ill at the full moon? Or did you realise that the Boggart changed into the moon when it saw me?"
"Both." She says in a small voice. Whoa she really is smart it is kind of embarrassing that she realised it in less time than it took his five best friends.
I'm slightly distracted thinking back to the day when we discovered the truth and am brought back to reality when Remus takes my wand out of my lowered hand but I'm comforted as he places it behind him tucking his own wand into his belt saying, "You're armed and we're not. Now will you listen?" They don't say anything.
Harry, thinking he's outsmarted us, says, "If you haven't been helping him: how did you know he was here?"
"The Marauder's Map," Remus says in a 'duh' tone, "I was in my office examining it -"
Harry cuts him off asking suspiciously, "You know how to work it?"
I let out a small laugh as he replies, "Of course I know how to work it, I helped to write it. I'm Moony - that was my nickname at school."
Remus continues to explain his escapade in arriving at the Shack confusing everyone by mentioning Peter until they cry in outrage saying that the rat is dead to which we repute with the truth. It's all perfectly civilised until Sirius seems to snap and jump at Peter. Me and Remus hold him back however as Remus explains, "They've got a right to know everything. Ron's been keeping him as a pet! There are parts I don't even understand! And Harry - you owe Harry the truth, Sirius."
Sirius grumbles in response but agrees. Hermione's head suddenly snaps up as she obviously remembers something, "But Professor Lupin..." Hearing Moony called that is still weird, "Scabbers can't be Pettigrew...it just can't be true, you know it can't."
I don't know how she has such definitive proof, "Why can't it be true?" Remus asks calmly.
"Because people would know if Peter Pettigrew had been an Animagus. We did a class on it with Professor McGonagall. I looked them up when I did my homework - the Ministry keeps tabs on witches and wizards who can become animals; there's a register showing what animal they become, and their markings and things. And I went and looked Professor McGonagall up on the register, and there have only been seven Animagi this century, and Pettigrew's name wasn't on the list."
Whoa who on earth puts that much effort into homework. It's incredible. She really is brilliant. It doesn't stop me from giving a small smile as she speaks though remembering as we tried to hide the fact we had mandrake leaves in our mouths from McGonagall knowing she knew about the process. Ash says that she knew all along and just didn't say anything. I think she might be right but it's strange that she didn't say anything.
"Right again, Hermione!" Remus exclaims, "But the Ministry never knew that there used to be five unregistered Animagi running around Hogwarts."
There's suddenly a loud crack from the room as the door swings open on its own accord as Moony looks out of the door Ron mutters, "This place is haunted!"
Remus then begins to explain his werewolfy nature telling then about our school days, "Soon we were leaving the Shrieking Shack at full moons and roaming around the village and the school grounds. Sirius, James and Lyra became such large animals that they could keep a werewolf in check. I doubt any student ever discovered as much about Hogwarts and the grounds as we did. That's how we came to write the Marauder's Map signing it with our nicknames: Saph, Moony, Wormtail, Polar, Padfoot and Prongs. Sirius is Padfoot. Peter is Wormtail. Lyra is Saph. James was Prongs. Polar is another of our friends, a muggleborn named Ash Lewis."
The situation with Snape and his Hogwarts position somehow comes up and I still feel guilty about the prank Sirius pulled on him all those years ago, even if I didn't help with it. I had no idea it was happening - that's why I'm guilty. Harry says aloud trying to wrap his head around everything, "So that's why Snape doesn't like you, because he thought you were in on the joke?"
It is then that a voice I haven't heard in a long time comes from behind Remus, "That's right," and with his wand pointed at Moony Snape takes off an Invisibility Cloak.
I'm stood still in shock. As panic erupts around and Sirius moves to his feet.
"Three more for Azkaban tonight," Snape says with sneering joy that makes my eyes narrow in anger but I don't do or say anything as I stand shaking with anger, "I'll be interested to see how Dumbledore takes this. He was quite convinced you were harmless, you know, Lupin." And then he adds with a grin that makes me want to punch him, "A tame werewolf." His evil gaze then moves to my infuriated body, "And little Lyra." I scowl once again at him, "Still hanging around with these low-lives? I thought you were better than that. You must've known that they'd get you into trouble one day."
"You fool." Remus says, "Is a schoolboy grudge worth putting an innocent man back inside Azkaban?" Snape doesn't respond to this but a bang echoes around the shack as chords burst from Snape's wand and wrap themselves around Remus. I immediately move forwards to him and as I'm struggling to untie the ropes Padfoot moves forwards towards Snape. But is stopped when he's met with his wand.
I'm not really paying attention to everything as I'm focused on grabbing my wand to stop this situation although Harry's sudden shouting makes me focus on him, "YOU'RE PATHETIC! JUST BECAUSE THEY MADE A FOOL OF YOU IN SCHOOL YOU WON'T EVEN LISTEN!"
"SILENCE! I WILL NOT BE SPOKEN TO LIKE THAT!" Snape roars before going back to sneering, "Like father, like son, Potter! I have just saved your neck, you should be thanking me on bended-knee! You would've been well served if he'd killed you! You'd have died like your father, too arrogant to believe you might be mistaken in Black."
"Don't you dare!" I say quietly no longer subtly reaching for my wand as I take it and point it straight at Snape, "Don't you dare say that about James. Harry owes no thanks to you, Snivellus. You're not the hero. Why would any of us hurt Harry?"
"Always the naive one aren't you." He smirks, "I would put your wand down." His eyes are thin as he glares at me.
"I've never lost a duel, darling." I smile with a painfully sweet voice.
He takes a step towards me his wand still pointing at Sirius but before I can react four voices echo from behind me Expelliarmus. Snape is slammed into the wall and becomes utterly knocked out. I smile proud of my daughter and godson, who've totally learned from their parents, "You shouldn't have done that," I say turning to them but my eyes are glinting, "I can handle myself, you should've left him to me." Hermione seems to be extremely emotional that they attacked a teacher but I'm too busy to really pay attention as I free Remus.
They continue talking and I'm just totally not paying attention as I watch Peter struggle in Ron's grip ready to stop him if he escapes.
"There's one way to settle this," Remus says bumping my arm slightly making me pay attention (he know's me zoning out when I'm bored far too well), "we force him to show himself." He holds his hand out for Peter and Ron reluctantly hand him it, "Ready?" He asks us and we nod, "On the count of three. One - Two - Three!" We cast the spell together and rat sprouts up in a gross sceptical to reveal the mousy man, "Well, hello, Peter. Long time no see," Remus says far too calmly I just want to crush the rat.
I'm finding it very difficult to hear words as my anger boils inside of me. They're about to finally rid the world of this godforsaken virus (they wouldn't let me help because I'm always treated like a child when Harry butts in yelling, "NO! You can't kill him, you can't!"
I'm shocked but as he explains that if he's alive Sirius can become innocent I totally understand and instantly agree with him. It doesn't take very long for us all to become ready to leave. Ron and Remus are tied to Pettigrew and Sirius hovers Snape. I've been talking quietly to my daughter as everyone sorted themselves out and we're as close as ever; she understands everything. We begin to set off down the tunnel. With the three chained together going first followed by Snape's floating body hanging creepily behind of them held up by Sirius, who is walking behind Snape in front of Harry, Hermione and Lyssa as I bring up the rear.
"You know what this means? Turning Pettigrew in?" Sirius says to Harry suddenly.
"You're free," Harry says.
"Yes..." Sirius says, he's trying to bring something up (badly), "But I'm also - I don't know if anyone ever told you - I'm your godfather."
"Yeah, I knew that." He replies.
I cough from behind them staring at Sirius, "Are you forgetting something?"
He chokes and says, "Well your parents appointed me," I cough again, "and Lyra as your guardians if anything happened to them."
Harry turns to me stopping, "You're my godmother?" He asks shocked, "But why didn't you look after me? Why did I have to go to the Dursleys?"
I should've known that this question was going to come but I'm pretty sure that Dumbledore won't want me to tell him, "I wanted to," I begin sadly, I so wanted to look after him, "but Dumbledore had other plans. He said it'd be better if you grew up away from all of the fame and focus. I'm sorry."
"It's fine." He says quietly smiling at me.
"But...well...now that I'm free. If you. If you wanted a different home?" Sirius asks.
"Of course!" Harry exclaims, "I've waited forever to leave the Dursleys! Do you have a house? When can I move in?"
"You want to. You mean it?" Sirius smiles as Harry nods his head and silence once again falls over the group as we ascend from the Whomping Willow.
As soon as I'm out in the nighttime air I immediately notice something is wrong as I see Remus' rigid form. It's then that I realise the date. I pull back Lyssa, Harry and Hermione behind me. "Run, run now." Me and Sirius scream simultaneously. But it's impossible to focus on them as I see Ron chained to Remus as he transforms. Luckily as he becomes the werewolf the bonds break. But Ron and Pettigrew aren't who I'm focusing on as a howl echos around the grounds.
I transform with Sirius as we try to control the creature and move him away from the children towards the Forset. Yet the beast is far too strong, obviously angry about being subdued by the potion for so long. And without James' antlers it becomes too difficult to control it as we become tired and overwhelmed. Sirius has been blocking many of the lashes aimed at me so it doesn't take vary long before he collapses and transforms back to a human. I snarl at the creature trying to intimidate it. It seems to be working as it slowly backs away from me. But as I leap forward to move it further away from Sirius it catches me off guard and bats me to the floor knocking my consciousness out.
I shuffle uncomfortably on some strange mattress. The events of last night reoccur in my mind and I shoot up worried about my twin, husband, daughter, godson and his friends. I look around to see a room that I recognise. The Headmaster's Office. "How and why on earth am I here?" I say jumping up from the floating object, which disappears.
"Welcome, Miss Black," comes the recognisable twinkling voice, "I hope you're better." He stops me before a flurry of questions come out, "Professor Lupin is currently safe in the Forbidden Forest; Mr Potter, Miss Lupin and their friends are all in the hospital wing; Sirius Black, I regret to inform you, has miraculously escaped the grasp of the Ministry once again." I'm shocked at his calm tone but thankful that everyone is safe, "As for you, I'm very glad you came when you did. You definitely saved Mr Potter from Black's grasp. I'm going to guess that you were called by Professor Lupin when he went over to the Shrieking Shack." The glint in his eye makes me turn around to see Fudge standing looking calculatingly at me.
"Why, thank you." I smile turning back to Dumbledore, "I knew I had to apparate as close to here as quickly as possible. It really is a shame that Black escaped, however. May I go now I wish to check on my daughter and godson before I leave." He nods slightly and I walk out of the room looking back at Dumbledore once I'm out of Fudge's gaze and giving him a huge, grateful smile.
Once I've seen the kids, who told me about the Sirius rescue, I floo back home to see a huge Hippogriff in the garden and a Sirius on my sofa, "You know this is breaking and entering?"
"I didn't break anything!" He says holding his hands up.
"Yeah, but your friend seems to have a huge dislike of our flowerbeds."

As she looks at the tree it's shaded by - taller with time - she sees the stretched carving of their initials, which Lily's had been added to in their final year. She traces a finger over the letters and as she does she can her their whispers through the wind. She knows she is there and she listens to what they say. She has to carry on their legacy. All in secrecy of the Ministry (as it's mostly to stop its corruption).
- In the end, Lyra dies of old age and finally the Marauders are reunited.
