Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Chilling Champion. Enjoy the 6700-word chapter. I don't own Pokémon, Nintendo, and a few others.
Mabrey was not in his best state beholden to anyone's ideal understanding as of now, something that was able to relax. Something beneath him at the moment, a desire to deal with.
He looked upwards and into the sky too unsure and unable to fathom all such desires. He felt Cynthia hum, air bristling around her as she looked down at the valley behind her.
She kicked off her shoes, leaning against the tree behind her, eager to relax within the tranquil habits of the forest, eager to enjoy something like this in which he was able to relax once more.
She didn't enjoy comforts of this nature often, wiggling her toes in the grass as Mabrey who was far beyond the desire to do so, simply rolled his eyes at the champion, unsure and able to relax as he did so, something that made it a lot more unsure and unstoppable when it came down to it.
"You ever consider a vacation or do champions not get those when they're dealing with the rest of the region? You ever once decide to deal with things like just getting some me time?" He said before he looked down to the ground.
"Maybe, but there's a chance someone always wants to fight, you ever deal with a war that never ends? A battle that keeps repeating every single time? I barely get to heal my Pokémon usually before another challenger comes knocking, it's a living." Cynthia said, resting her hands behind her head as Mabrey hummed, his Mismagius reclining on a branch below.
There was a lot more to see, to deal with and he knew it far beyond what she did. She patted her friend's Pokémon atop their noggin, eager to be impressed by the Pokémon and its fighting.
"Maybe I don't entirely understand you as the champion, Cin. Do you mind if I call you that or would you prefer something far more jaw-dropping?" Cynthia heard as she laughed.
Perhaps it was a lot more than what she was all too used to, perhaps it was a lot more hopeful as to what to see and do. it became harder and harder to figure out as she seemed to be able to relax once more.
All of it became harder and harder to fathom, why did she get to relax once more as she seemed to be able to tire? There's a lot more to try and seems to be something that I could relax once more.
She didn't know since she didn't know what to try and figure out… This place had a habit of allowing her to relax in ways she managed to look upwards and into the sky
"Are you ok? There's a lot more to life than dealing with wars, you know?" Mabrey asked while he looked down to the ground once, hopeful only to the degree in which she could do something about it over and over.
Yes, it was going to be lovely in this day and age and lovely all the more painful, cutting him like a knife all over the place as he did so, there was just more and more as of now. There was just too much upon which he could relax and would do so even if it was easy to do so.
Whatever he did next would continue to fight over and over as he thought of it all. Whatever needed to be done would be done and it was clear more and more at the end of the day, unsure, incapable of knowing for certain, not wanting it more and more. It felt almost as if he was thrown off, batted apart by it all that it scared him.
Such things were often beyond what he could allow himself to relax doing as he sighed, unsure and incapable of what was going to happen next.
He looked down upon the ground, unsure, incapable of what to do next, and hopeful as to what it meant.
She looked down upon the ground, looking at him before shrugging off her coat and letting it rest upon one of the branches next to her as she went. She yawned, unsure and unable of doing much about it when it came down to it. All of it was enjoyable and would continue to be so for a long, long time.
"You need a vacation," Mabrey said as she shrugged and looked off and into the distance.
"Are you sure you've never considered a vacation?" Mabrey asked before Cynthia hummed, crossing her legs over one another.
"Not to the degree you think. I've had to relax a lot and it means sometimes missing out on stuff I want to do." Cynthia said before she sighed and looked down at the ground, too unsure and uncertain of what to expect.
It was not something she wanted to see, to do. She felt the wind brush over her arms, the grass crushed beneath her feet, and the sun beat down on her face. It was a nice spot; one she was reminded of what to try and do next.
There was a lot more to figure out, a lot more horrid at the moment. A lot more than she was capable of doing, something nice and ridiculous at the same time. it wasn't exactly something she regretted and she was more than aware that he had a point, she never got to relax which was true to a degree, more and more unsure of what to do next.
It was a lot more frustrating and was making him all the more as of the time being as of now, what to try and do for the time being. He had a lot more to try and deal with it all as of now.
There was a lot more to try and handle with each passing second, unable to try and figure out what to do next before he crossed his arms, unable to relax and unable to think once more, unable to fathom more and more upon his mind… Something he didn't at all knows what to do next before now.
There was a lot more upon her brain, unsure and unable to relax once more. Cynthia leaned against the tree, flexing her feet into the dirt as she hummed, her Garchomp laying down as well, nuzzling into her master's shoulder as she slowly started to do so. There was something else on the line either way.
She didn't know him, but it seemed to matter at the moment as she was all too eager to try and deal with him at the second.
"You know? There's a lot more Pokémon in the world…" Mabrey asked but patted Mismagius on the head.
"Can I ask something you might or might not agree with as champion? There's always one Pokémon you bond with the most, right? I don't mean neglecting the others at all… But for example? Me and Maggy here have been friends since I was a kid… You chose Gible since you were a kid to carry you down the road?" Mabrey asked as Mismagius finally settled down next to her owner.
Cynthia could only look at Garchomp who had settled into her lap like a confused and interested puppy. All of it made the idea a lot more unfathomable if only for the idea that they had been inseparable for so long. It was something the woman treasured from now until the end of the day.
"There's always one that I guess we get close to; we get so close to them their like family. Is that what you mean?" Cynthia asked as Mabrey hummed.
"Yeah, something like that. You and Garchomp are so good as a team part of me had to guess that you and she have been a team for years… Unless you've not been training at all and didn't at all tell anyone?" He asked, unable to reconcile with his ideas and thoughts.
All of it managed to make him relax… Truly, because he knew better ideas for now… Nothing else managed to make him relax besides now, it was a lot more staggering than he wished to say and do.
"You came here for more than relaxing, didn't you? It was because you could get some fresh air, isn't it? all of it's a bit odd when you consider it… But I get it…. All of it if I'm honest with you and myself. You always need someone to relax around and keep in your heart… Otherwise? Who is the one your protecting? Whom are you keeping company?" Mabrey asked before looking around.
All of it made him sigh as he thought to himself about what to do next… All of it was truly just maddening to himself… And would probably continue to be so for the time being. This?
This wasn't going to be the last dance and he knew that again and again; he knew that if anything? It wasn't going to be the end of anything for him or anyone else.
He knew that and so damn well did she, didn't she? She kicked her feet up like she was the empress of Sinnoh, it wasn't unfitting considering how powerful she was, considering that she had been the champion.
She looked so ready to try and figure it out for now. They had a lot more to try and figure out for now, all of it was going to bother him again and again.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Cynthia heard as she looked downwards at the ground, unsure and uncertain as she hummed. "I know being the champion means to figure out." Cynthia as she nodded, kicking him playfully in the bare arm.
"Oh, so you are more than Ms. Queen champion goddess lady and whatever thousands of titles I'm sure people have for you based purely on how unstoppable and unsure you are for now… It's a lot of weird titles, you know." Mabrey said as Cynthia slowly started to look downwards at the ground.
He hummed to himself, watching as he did so. It was impossible to gauge her for now when it came down to it. He hummed before he felt a weight on his chest, Mabrey paused to see Cynthia had found a home for her head upon it.
"I guess being champion means anyone gets to be your pillow then as well, cool," Mabrey said as Cynthia rolled her eyes and looked at him.
"I like talking to you, Mabrey. Maybe it's because you see things a bit differently or perhaps it is because I can't get a read on you. a powerful team of Pokémon and you're doing nothing with it besides… Walking around, isn't it?" Cynthia said as Mabrey hummed to himself.
"Can I ask a question? it's not one I believe you get asked often." Mabrey said as Cynthia smiled and smirked politely.
"Is it what I was before I became champion? Because you are right, not every single person asks. Some are afraid I'll have Garchomp bite their heads off. Whenever I wanted people to leave me alone to think? I'd let them assume that it's coming down the wire." Cynthia said before he hummed to himself.
He was unsure before now, he had a lot more to try and figure out as she looked downwards at the ground, they had a lot more and more… He had a lot more to try and do.
She leaned on him like the bark of a tree, like something he couldn't for the life of him understand. What he did do next? Well, it wouldn't end anytime soon. It wouldn't be so easy to try and end it before something far worse came.
He didn't even want to ruin the moment but knew that if anything? He could only look downwards at the ground once again and again did he manage something massive.
He knew again and again that what he did was odd and yet he didn't care, it was how he had managed to keep going.
Life was odd like that, wasn't it? throw him around, as if he had managed something incredulously again and again.
"You know? I can never figure you out either, you're a very down to Earth woman for someone who's the strongest woman in all of Sinnoh, didn't think you could do something like this." Mabrey said before he hummed, managing something new again and again as he looked downwards at the ground.
"There will always be something to deal with, you know, a lot of people have to deal with when it came down to it." Mabrey heard as he hummed.
"Are you ok?" Mabrey asked while he looked downwards at the ground, unsure of what she wanted… Or he, mostly he.
He didn't even know when or if he had an answer as she nodded, content to rest more and more. It was not a weird thing to ask, merely something he couldn't at all answer.
"Yes, traveling just takes a lot out of me, there's a lot more to every single move made, of everything said and done. I don't even know what I'm going to do next, Mabrey." Mabrey said before he looked downwards at the ground, he had a lot more to say and do.
Both of them had to keep going, she looked downwards at the ground, they had a lot more to keep going, everything mattered more and more and every little choice in the path defined them.
"I'm glad to see your Mismagius is ok. You do love your Pokémon so much." Cynthia said before she patted the Pokémon atop the head. "She's fairly powerful when it came down to it," Cynthia stated before she smirked at herself.
"She and I have been a team since before everything, Cynthia. She's been my partner since we've been walking this road… Yet she's as silly as she is willing to throw someone into a wall, I've seen her band of mischief myself and it's… Delectably terrifying at the same time." Mabrey said before he hummed to himself.
Mabrey was able to finally distract himself as he cracked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
He had a very large amount of oddity upon his mind to figure out as he thought of everything while he and she looked off and into the distance, unsure and yet eager to figure it out for now.
Was there something else for them to talk about? Both of them were curious once more as they looked out and over the rest of the region.
He said nothing, deciding against making himself feel like an idiot any more than usual, anything else and he'd collapse into the ground like a sack of potatoes. it truly didn't seem like it was worth the effort to him to say anything for the time being.
He hummed and drummed his hands on his knees and legs. It was odd, truly? It was. The options on his mind were baffling for now as he relaxed once more… He wanted something else to try and figure out while he was ready to do so… Yes, it seemed time was their best ally.
Mabrey had no desire to be champion, not yet. it was like winning a video game, there was very little to try and do for now. Every little option, every single little speck of the plan was odd, and yet he continued to keep doing it.
"You know, sooner or later I AM going to want to be the champion… Just not now, not when I don't enjoy it. I'd take it for granted so much I don't think it'd be long before someone came and just knocks me off my throne… Then what? Then I can't enjoy life at all." Mabrey said as Cynthia hummed.
"Is that why you've spent so much time out here?" Cynthia asked as Mabrey hummed while he looked downwards at the ground.
There was a larger amount of amusement written on his face as he did so, not simply because he was finding her company that much more amusing but because it was telling him exactly how well she was faring.
She yawned, treating him more and more like a pillow with each passing second of the day. She regarded him as more of a pillow than a talking companion which made him want to hum and laugh.
He expected she'd make some sort of half-hearted quip about the champion of Sinnoh getting too silly to own up to her reputation.
However? He nixed it for a few ideas. she was not the one who had had doubts… And all of her worries and fretting served to only drive him to do better.
"I've caught a new Pokémon. Well, not new to Sinnoh, but new because I haven't seen him around yet. Almost made me wonder if I was dreaming. Maggy wants to battle you soon, though, she's very jealous about the tie last time, isn't easy when she's so used to battling… Almost makes me worried she'll hurt herself." Mabrey heard as he sighed to himself with some anger.
He wasn't taking it less hard on himself to do better as she flicked his nose playfully. It was part of life, part of what he was used to now. Life continued to surprise him in different and amazing ways.
No, what bothered him was his Pokémon didn't all get along. Mismagnus always seemed to want to start trouble with his Crobat and Honchkrow didn't always see eye to eye again and again for now.
So many problems and yet he and Maggy always seemed to get along. Perhaps because she and he had been training for so long that he knew they wouldn't do something bad to ruin their bond.
He'd ask her for help but he doubted she'd be so… Helpful for the sake of their game for now. She hummed and looked downwards at the ground before now, looking upwards at the time being, something that could and would allow them to keep going.
Whatever was done next? It was madness that it could continue to grow more and more and more unsure and uncertain for now.
"Are you good? You're relaxing for now just like you usually are." Cynthia said as Mabrey hummed and leaned backward in his seat before she looked down at the valley.
"There's a measure of peace with being up here and doing something about it all. Poor little Mabrey, sitting up on this peaceful mountaintop looking down at the rest of the village and everything." Mabrey said before he smiled and looked downwards at the city once more.
He heard a flapping of wings and looked up to see a Starly up in the trees before another flap brought another next to them.
He laughed as he glanced upwards only to see a small flock of creatures atop the trees over them.
"I told you; this spot is worth it; it might hurt to hike up here in heels but it's a perfect sight if you know what you are looking for." Cynthia heard as Mabrey smiled.
"I believe something tells me you've been here a LOT when it comes down to it, don't you? You've been here a lot longer than me, haven't you? There's a lot more to see and do with that sort of thing." Cynthia said as Mabrey shrugged.
"I am… Planning my life before something happens, I can't control… This sounds like that talk about destiny we had last time." Cynthia heard as she snorted and looked downwards.
"Someone's a good student then," Cynthia said, playfully rustling his hair as he rolled his eyes. "But I do remember that talk, it was a good talk, one I think we needed to have," Cynthia said as Mabrey hummed.
"Didn't you also tell me sooner or later champions need to be replaced? Why? Do you want someone to defeat you? Prove you are weaker and such? Don't like the position?" Mabrey asked to which she sighed.
She heard no malice behind it, it wasn't a barb or taunt to insult her or make her seem weaker and she knew it. The question was simply if she had tired of her throne, of her station. It was not a bad question to ask considering she had reigned long enough and now? it would soon be someone else's for the moment.
She wanted a person to win, to prove they had surpassed her in skill and power. She didn't know whom, nobody could predict who would take her place… But she knew blasted well she wasn't going to let someone take it easy.
Nope, not without a fight reminding them of just what they would hold when they won. Not without reminding them that as champion, she wouldn't just be a footnote in history. It was… odd to be so prideful, yet she was for all of it to end properly, they had a LOT more to see and do, something that continued to push him further and further for now.
Cynthia only paused to look around as she sighed and yawned, utterly tired and yet worn down only more and more by what would come next.
They had a LOT more to see and do, something that permeated everything and everything for now, they had a very large amount to try and figure out, something that continued to bother her for now.
She looked downwards at the ground, unsure of what to see and do. She didn't know what to try and do next and she didn't care while she cracked her fingers what seemed to happen upon such a thing. She happened to find it odder and odder.
"Cynthia?" Mabrey asked as he looked downwards at the ground. "You, ok? There's a lot of stuff going on in your brain I guess… Being a champion is very tough, ain't it?" Mabrey asked, seeming to be more and more thrown off.
"No, I'm just a bit thrown off at the end of the day," Cynthia said as she hummed and looked downwards at the ground, wiggling her toes on the ground before yawning. "So much about this place brings up memories of when I used to be a trainer," Cynthia said as she sighed to herself.
Cynthia could still tell Mabrey was curious, utterly unsure, and unable to think more and more. She was aware of the fact he was a caring warrior and he had a very large amount of interest in everything around them. It had a LOT more claims to try and end before something bad happened.
She knew more and more that he wasn't a bad person either way as she felt him try and pick his head up and off her stomach. She hummed, aware of the fact that they were alike in a certain way.
Perhaps it was nice to have a friend, perhaps it was nice to know Mabrey had SOME kinship with her and didn't at all understand for now, she didn't know him and she wanted to in some way know what he was like.
They had a LOT more to seek to understand, for now, something about it all seemed to try and end the right way… They would be unable to try and figure out what to do.
Still? it was amused, utterly unable to be broken for now because of the peace.
Both knew the other in some sort of way and that was crucial to how it functioned, ended well enough that one another would be unable to see it end properly. They had a very large amount of interest to see it end for now, something that amused her one way or another, they would be able to relax once more sooner or later.
"Are you going to be, ok? Life ain't easy, we have a lot more stuff to try and figure out what to see and what to do." Mabrey stated before he looked to the ground, unsure of it all.
Mabrey fell silent, unable to try and deal with it all for now, a measure of what to try and deal with as he hummed. Mabrey hummed, feeling her mess with himself as he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
There were a lot of things he could not deal with for now as he looked at her.
She playfully rustled his hair as their two Pokémon lay down next to them, Garchomp slowly yet surely seemed to be ready to relax as she hummed and looked at the two before as he was able to try and deal with it all.
He didn't at all know what to see and do next before he looked to the end of the day, there was just too much amusement on his face as he looked at her.
"You, ok?" Cynthia asked before Mabrey hummed and sighed before now. "There's a lot of things that can't be dealt with but I don't know you… But I'd like to try and figure you out." Mabrey heard Cynthia hum before she looked up and into the sky.
"Ergo, meaning?" Mabrey hummed before he sighed to himself at this very moment.
"Meaning I think I'm going to remain in town for a while so we can talk. I want to try and learn more about life… Well, life before the champion phase." Mabrey heard as Cynthia hummed, poking her fingers on his head playfully.
"Why do I feel like you're doing this to torture me." Cynthia heard as she playfully poked his nose.
"Blame yourself for amusing me enough to come and try and figure you out…" Cynthia said to which Mabrey hummed and let Mismagnus sit on the ground next to him.
"Maggie? Relax, there's too much to try and deal with and you should know for a fact that." Cynthia stated before she sighed and then looked at her owner.
He knew her and she knew him. it was obvious at least they were united in the way they stood against such things. Whatever stood before them would be reduced to ash and bits before their combined power. Yet? She didn't know what waited for them next, only that it would come very, very soon at the end of the day.
Such things were beyond them for now and forever. Yet? She wouldn't let it rest for now, she wouldn't allow it, knowing that it was all too much more.
Such things only served to further her ideas, making her aware she wouldn't be able to win purely through sheer will. It wouldn't work, it couldn't work but it did and she knew that to no real end.
Such things were beyond her but not beyond the others and that? That was just going to grow worse and worse, for now, a desire that would be able to relax once again at the end of time.
It was something that he had to keep delving into more and more, unsure, and uncertain of himself more and more, unwilling to do anything and not willing to figure something out.
All such manner of ideas were over, all of it would collapse but not easily and not just something that would continue and fall apart easily with each passing moment as it came to it for now.
It was an idea that would keep growing more and more as they looked to the side before it ended in each little detail, not at all able to do much.
Something was brewing in his mind, a madness to try and deal with hatred to try and deal with as he hummed to himself, utterly consumed with more amusement than more tired exhaustion as well than anything.
These sorts of measures rarely seemed to give him peace, knowing that it would continue to try and deal with it all for now, something that bothered him more and more.
He sighed more and more as he looked at her before ultimately submitting to the amusement, he had within him on so many levels. Whatever came next, as a result, was far beyond control like it should have been.
Still? They had a lot more to try and deal with at the end of the day and age, so many little problems to try and fix and so little time to fix them within, it stung all around knowing that it was next to impossible to honestly try and deal with now and for good.
Yet? It didn't stop them from dealing with it all for now, knowing that whatever came next would be almost impossible to try and fix, knowing it didn't matter much.
Cynthia hummed and playfully tussled his hair, knowing that such a way that it was amusing him more than annoying him. He could not wish to do more than relax, knowing it just wasn't going to end in every single little way possible.
Perhaps for the best that Mabrey laughed, all too amused by it as he sat up, tired and yet worn down by it all.
He wanted to be able to relax and cut through it like a savage buzzsaw. Perhaps then he could allow himself to cut it all apart and he would need to relax more and more.
They had a lot more to deal with as she playfully messed with his hair again and again, such ideals were almost too much to fathom.
"You know, the more I think about it at the end of the day? the more of it I can't make sense of it. is it like that with you?" Cynthia asked to which Mabrey hummed.
"I try not to think about everything when I'm dealing with it all. It helps when it comes to certain things for now." Mabrey stated before he sighed and then cracked his fingers as he hummed once as he would be able to relax.
Cynthia was able to try and relax more and more with time and effort, perhaps it was just something that he could and would deal with for now, something that cut his mind into pieces at the end of the day. it didn't exactly match up to it as of now as he looked to the side before, he clicked his tongue.
Perhaps it wouldn't matter but he knew very well what trying to change her mind would do at any rate anyway. It didn't exactly matter for now because he wasn't going to be able to change their mind.
He sighed and then looked over at the woman as they paused before he glanced downwards at the sand and mud around them. Perhaps it was just something to try and figure out, he hummed as he looked to the side.
Perhaps it would be something to try and end for now. He had a LOT more on his mind as he clicked his fingers and watched as he sighed before he yawned and looked down to the side.
There was a LOT more to deal with and yet he hummed to himself before clicking his fingers before he yawned. He would only pause and look at Cynthia as he sighed again and again.
"Sorry, I'm still a bit tired from it all. Relaxing more and more is tiresome than it is before." Cynthia heard before Cynthia hummed and then caused a silent problematic issue.
The champion amusingly cradled the boy, knowing that such a thing would only manage to relax again and again.
They shared a moment before he looked down at the ground, he would not be able to try something of this caliber for now, knowing that it was far more amusing than it seemed to appear for now.
"You, ok? There are a lot more problems that I need to deal with sooner or later, they can wait though. There are a lot of things that were going on for now when push comes to shove more and more and more it gets under my skin. So much to see and do and yet? I have to deal with problems beyond this." Cynthia said as Mabrey hummed.
"This is why I'm glad I'm not champion. So much work to be able to strut around like it's a title and not some sort of thing that's becoming far too amusing to deal with… It sounds more like a trophy than a title like I'm running for an office rather than allowing something to try and influence me for now." Cynthia stated before she sighed as she clicked her fingers against the roof of his mouth.
They had a lot more to try and figure out as she sighed to herself, tired more and more with each little moment of exhaustion when it came down to it.
All of it would end as they would always end it sooner or later at the time being, this didn't end for now the way it should have been… Would have been, it would continue to be like this and would never change… It had so much fury it should not have changed for now and for good.
Nope, not at all would it matter much, they had a lot more to try and deal with, knowing that it could be dealt with for now, it would become of it and soon not caring.
"You are enjoying this far too much, aren't you?" Cynthia stated before she paused and looked downwards at the ground.
"There's a lot of problems when it came to it as of now," Mabrey stated before she paused and looked downwards at the ground. "The more life that keeps going on and on? The more I must relax… And the more I can't enjoy life for now." Mabrey stated to which he paused to try and figure out another part of relaxation at the end of the day.
There was just something else to keep relaxing for now, unsure of it … The idea only made him more amused, pausing to think of what to try and deal with for now.
"You, ok?" Mabrey questioned before Cynthia paused and then looked upwards into the sky.
"There's a lot of things to figure out as of now… Isn't there?" Cynthia asked, wiggling her toes in the grass.
"The more I think I understand you? You do something that I cannot figure out." Mabrey stated, pausing to think for a second.
He didn't get her; he didn't think he got anyone… The more he tried? The more he couldn't relax, he paused to try and figure out something.
Mabrey stated before he paused to himself as he clicked his fingers. She sighed to look to the ground as she hummed, looking at him.
"Are you ok? There are a lot of things we need to deal with… Like the fact, everyone is going to geek out the longer the Champion of Sinnoh is holed up here." Mabrey stated as Cynthia sighed, looking back at her friend.
"I'll try and figure something that could be dealt with… There's going to be another battle for NOW." Cynthia stated before Mabrey seemed to be dealt with.
"We need to keep fighting for now?" Mabrey asked before cracking his fingers as he paused to himself.
There was just a moment of relaxation as she leaned against her friend, pausing to herself before realizing that it could be dealt with for now. She paused to look at her friend, leaning against him as she looked downwards at the ground.
"Hmm…" Mabrey stated before Cynthia paused and looked at him, taking a few seconds to look downwards at the ground.
All of it mattered and all more than possible. It wouldn't be fair to really figure out something and then send it all crashing downwards at the ground, knowing what would come next at the time.
All of it was nicer and nicer for now and for good at the end of the day as he paused to himself for good reason. He was utterly relaxed, utterly unable to be tamed in his way, he would fall silent at that.
There was just nothing about it that could be dealt with for now, too interestingly thrown for a loop. They had a LOT of ideals to deal with for now at the end of the moment.
They had a LOT to focus on either before pausing to think of it for now. She seemed to want to think for now at the time being, she was ok.
She paused, looking at Mabrey whom she was leaning against, she yawned for a few seconds before humming, patting him playfully atop the head.
The idea that he could relax around her slowly yet surely seemed to be sinking downwards and into the ground.
She paused, thinking for a moment about what she could do and then pausing to look over at her friend, not thinking for now.
"I feel like a throw pillow." Cynthia heard as she hummed and shrugged, yawning to herself before seeming to think for now.
"Are you going to be annoyed if I want to stay there?" Cynthia stated before she looked at Mabrey who shrugged.
"If you need to," Mabrey said before shrugging. "Now you know how I live… This mountain isn't easy to get up if you can't fly or something like that…" Mabrey stated before he paused, sighing.
Mabrey hummed and simply glanced at her, surprised more than enraged.
This woman was the champion of the entire region, the top of the entire food chain and here she was using him for a throw pillow. It would be ridiculous and worthy of scorn and hatred if he wasn't too amused by the thing.
"How long have you been the champion again?" Mabrey asked, raising an eyebrow at her. "It's an honest question, I've forgotten how long you reigned as champion, it's been so long that I honestly don't think you'd ever be beaten," Mabrey stated before he sighed.
Cynthia hummed, glancing up at the sun, feeling the rays of light wash over them, it was a good question. She had been championing so long it felt odd to even believe that she had possibly forgotten it for now.
Still? Such a thing was beyond her ideals, she did not exactly care so much about that as she did about the massive amount of sunlight flooding over her prone form.
Mabrey dropped the question a few seconds later. Not exactly interested as he was otherwise for now… He had far too much concern for his features to relax.
