Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Reaper and the Warrior. Enjoy the 5200-word chapter. I don't own Overlord, Kugane and a few others do.
Gaidar was curious as to what Zesshi was up to. The lovestruck girl continued to follow him like a pup, eager to be with the one who had matched in skill. He was the one when it came down to it to marry her.
Gaidar crossed his arms as he shook his head. Her company was fun, yes. But he would not wed someone who had matched her in skill simply because she wanted to.
"You are not going to stop following me anytime soon, are you?" Gaidar questioned as he rested his hands on his hip.
"No, darling," Zesshi stated to which Gaidar hummed while he tugged on his weapon to readjust it. "I will follow you to the ends of the planet if I must, our destiny is written in stone," Zesshi added as Gaidar rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Battle is not love, even if I enjoy it?" Gaidar said, grabbing his sword. "It is how you know someone. We have barely known each other for more than a few days at best." Gaidar added, brushing off his cloak as he did so.
It was not like he was being untrue. He enjoyed Zesshi's company. She was one of the few warriors he had seen that could give him a fair fight at the end of the day.
"Yes, but you enjoyed the fight, yes?" Zesshi questioned, setting her scythe on the ground as she did so.
"Yes, but you are missing my point when it comes down to it, and that is much more annoying than you might think," Gaidar stated, pausing to brush off his armor as he did so.
He looked around the barren plains around them. Miles and miles of blackened soil greeted them, the plains looked dead and lifeless like nothing had ever grown here… And like nothing ever would, that bothered him deeply. This place looked like not a single plant had even considered living in this area.
"Where are you bringing me?" Gaidar questioned as he shook his head. "Your home city, yes? It is a smart idea to think about. You should know I plan on fighting more after we get there." Gaidar stated, pausing to rest his sword on his shoulder as he made sure his helmet was still ready to be repaired.
He knew for a fact that there was no damage they couldn't fix upon this damage. He was quite curious how their blacksmiths would be if they manufactured her scythe. He doubted a single helmet was out of their wheelhouse when he thought about it.
"Yes, why wouldn't I, darling?" Zesshi stated to which the armored warrior merely crossed his armored arms.
"Oy, you are going to be the death of me, Zesshi," Gaidar stated, sliding down the hill, brushing off his sword, and resting his sword in his sheathe upon his back. "Fine, bring me there. I need to make sure that my armor is repaired fully." Gaidar added as he clicked his fingers in an attempt to check if his armor was ok.
Still? He was quite curious about how this would end up. This battle was far funnier when he thought about it.
"That just makes me enjoy you more," Zesshi added as she smiled in the sheer enjoyment of her lover's company.
He said nothing, simply focusing on moving forward. That was an effort spent on moving.
"Talk about that when we get there and can relax," Gaidar stated as he paused to check his surroundings for a moment. "What is this area like? I am unfamiliar with how it is; this desert is long and barren. How did you survive it for so long?" Gaidar questioned as he paused to think about his options.
He was greeted by quiet. She didn't want him to get away, it was respectful when it came down to it.
There was so much to be said and done when it came down to it. there was more to handle before all of this time. He'd be a lot more curious as of the time being this was all to happen.
He looked at the woman before he clicked while humming to himself. this was going to be a lot more hopeful and eventful of a day while he shook his head.
He was curious which made him want to fight and test her when it came down to it. he hummed when it came down to it.
There was so much to do before all of the questions before now. If she wanted to follow him? Fine, he'd allow it. There wasn't anything that could handle when he considered it.
He turned and swung his sword at her while sending her backward. She giggled and drew her scythe with an interest for the time being. she grinned and charged at him as Gaidar questioned what to do next.
This was a lot funnier than he wished it to be, a lot better if either managed to fight one another. He questioned himself why he didn't do this before. He wanted this, either way, he'd always wanted this before now and nothing more to himself. if only it was this easy to fight.
He flipped it to the ground before he tilted it towards her. She threw herself at him with an eagerness that only she could match with only the best power she controlled as of the second.
He leaped into the air before bringing his sword down on her blade. They smirked before this was all said and done. They wanted blood, to enjoy their battle when it came to this. They wanted this to end.
He grinned and rolled his blade towards her which cut through the air before this was all said and done. He dodged one of her scythe swings when it came down to the battle. Gaidar only rolled his eyes, curious as to her move.
"Yes…" Gaidar heard from her as she raised an eyebrow and smirked with a grin that had been razor-sharp.
He dodged a swing that could have taken her head off if it had matched anything when it came down to it. He backflipped from his position and looked at her with a hum.
"YES…." Zesshi stated before she grinned wider and wider. "There's too much for me to back down. You won't stop me, my darling." Zesshi added before charging back into the fight.
Oh, had it been interesting, but she'd survive at the end of today. All it'd take is some time for her to sink her fangs in.
Still? he found her to be amusing. A lot more amusing than he believed he would have if given the chance. It'd at the very least leave fewer problems for now and it wasn't as if it bothered either of them for now. The idea just had too much on the line for them to consider it a problem.
Yet? It had done little to soothe her little problems… Soothe what she had been brewing in the back of her mind. Yes, a small little thing she couldn't wait to mess with if given the chance to.
It was surprising, but it also made more problems at the time and she damn well couldn't have that on her mind.
Still? if anything? It helped that there were going to be more problems for her to tighten up. The idea had been simple anyway and it wasn't as if she had a weird one in the back of her mind. It wasn't as if this was to last much anyway.
"How about I make you a deal?" Gaidar questioned as he turned with his sword before now.
She had been a lot more interested in what it seemed to question as of now. He had oh so much been curious before this moment. Yet? He chuckled for a second while he seemed to tilt his head before he sighed, oddly questioning what to do next. The idea had been a weird problem and he smirked before resting his weapon on his shoulder
He knew for a fact the idea had some promise. He was questioned for now while he tilted his head to the side while he sighed to himself.
He sighed before the second while he slowly started to tilt his head before he rested the weapon on his shoulder.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Zesshi questioned before he hummed and brushed his hands back and forth.
He tilted his head and then started to question what to do next. He hummed before he chuckled and looked at her with an odd little thing for them as he raised his weapon before now and he knew that she'd understand.
"In 30 days, we have a rematch. We travel for 30 days and then we decide if we are to have another fight. If you defeat me? I will marry you and any other such customs you believe may or may not be worthy of your time for now." Gaidar said before he hummed and scrunched up his nose before he sighed, tilting his head once more.
He had oh so much been ready to fight her if need be. It had been a fun little fight and he wouldn't mind another fight when this was all said and done.
She grinned, leaning closer as he hummed at this, she nodded at him with a smirk too big for any little feature to be unnoticed for now. He sighed, glancing around to make sure he didn't have to focus on things as of now and how well they could have been. They had more upon the mind to deal with, much more. It'd not be so easily cut and dry in his mind. Yet? He'd have it no other way.
If she wanted violence? Well, he could agree with such a thing that had more and more to have handled to focus more upon which he was over the second.
He raised his blade. If she wished to be in combat that badly? Well, they could settle such grievances rather easily and within reason. She grinned and raised her scythe, eager for this.
"If you wish to fight that badly? Show me just how skilled you are at fighting then. I'll accept nothing less than the best from you." Gaidar said before he clicked his fingers against one another, too unsure of what to have done before this was all over of what to have done and dusted.
She sent him skidding back as her scythe met his blade, causing him to get hurled backward as he rolled his eyes, his blade twirling as he stiffened up. He knew more than to just try and combat her in combat easily.
Still? He treasured such things. If she wanted him so badly, she'd have to claim him and he knew that fight would be worth more than before. However?
He wasn't stupid, there'd always be chances for him to have improved and gained the upper hand such things had been odd, they had been weird, but he had lived within this world long enough to have known just how to have fought and defeated her.
He dug his sword into the ground before lunging back after her. He smirked under his armor, knowing she was going to be as tough to have defeated as she had been before.
Good, he'd damn well hate if she had been too weak for him to fight and he knew she felt the same. They wanted strength and a damn good fight.
They wanted power and skill to be matched against one another and they finally wanted something that would have given them a proper battle. This was probably not going to have been that one, but it'd be similar to such a thing for now.
He smirked as he drew his blade and approached her, too unsure of his tactics and how well he could have battled her in such a state. She was strong and gifted while he was merely skilled in the areas of swordsmanship. Still? He looked forwards to seeing how well she could have done against him in pitched combat.
He was owed that much as was she, nothing more and nothing less than that much at all. It'd be fun to the end of the line. There's a lot more he could have done to have to prepare for now.
She seemed to have to click with him as both of them rushed forwards, all the way to the end of the line they'd come with their gushing fangs, both eager to sample the blood from the other in battle.
It made him giddy to know she had such talent and the lust for battle made him eager to see how well this was going to have been somewhere else.
She scraped up the ground with her scythe before he spun around, slashing at her as she was thrown to the side. She slowly started to scrap towards her.
"You're going to be amused when it comes down to it," Gaidar stated as he rolled his eyes at her.
"I'll be amused when you give me the fight you had before. That is how you earn my attention. I know you want this fight as much as I do." Zesshi heard to which she smirked at him.
"Then you're going to have much more than that," Zesshi stated as she rushed at him, her scythe raised. "I've not seen a battle that has given me such a rush in years. It's been so damn long since I've enjoyed a battle of such a degree as this. Yes, it's been a lot more fun when it came down to it." Zesshi stated to which he could only roll his eyes at her.
She was far more bloodthirsty than he had thought. Not that he minded, it brought not a horrid side of her he wished to see more and more of. He blocked her scythe which sent sparks flying across the entire damn room now.
This hadn't yet seemed to have questioned how far they'd have gone. They had more and more to have done for now. A lot more to this little crazy plan than it should have been.
Zesshi screeched a bloodthirsty cry and tried to grip him, her talon-like fingers gripping him as she seemed to have questioned what he'd do if she had lost… How she had lost or would she have lost to have begun with? They had so many damn problems when it came down to it.
Yet? He knew she wanted more combat. Both of them desired the rush of battle. The amusement that came with it when their weapons clanged and both of them were allowed to have to question what to have to do next.
"We're going to have to handle it," Zesshi stated before she seemed to have to click her tongue against the roof of her mouth.
"There's a lot more to handle, Zesshi. I know you're well aware of that. We both know how well this will go… And I will make sure that something goes perfectly well. The only problem is simple." Gaidar stated before he shook his head and looked at the ground before he got his bearings.
She tossed herself at her before she looked at her before she tilted her head to the side and then looked around.
She landed in front of him before she flicked her scythe at him in time for his blade to block it, she had managed to easily dodge around the blades as well, making his sword barely pierce her skin as he was kicked backward.
He knew more than anything that her powers and her power were beyond his… She was skilled, but she lacked the pure ability to have tried to hone her skill.
She felt like a damn shark that lashed out at everything that fell into the water.
She hadn't yet prepared for the idea she wasn't the biggest fish in the water. She grinned before she had thrown herself, and her scythe slammed into the sword before backpedaling.
Zesshi watched as she looked around. She had tainted the waters… Pushed him, all too curious as to how she'd react at the end of the day.
It'd handle it for now. She didn't at all question what to do next before it came to their move as he blocked blades with her before being sent backward, thrown entirely off as she smirked.
"How are you holding up, hmm?" Zesshi asked with a massive smile cutting across her features.
"Good, you might feel this, however," Gaidar stated before he landed a kick. "Your all-raw power without skill. Your skill has atrophied as a result of constantly winning, hasn't it?" Gaidar stated before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
He hadn't prepared for now and looked up and into the ceiling. He sent her skidding backward with a single swing of his sword before she questioned what to do next as she looked around. Gaidar sighed and shook his head, leaning on his sword, and glanced at her.
Whatever he did next meant that such ideals had been a problem. She was a hungry shark which should have been something that she could have battled for now. Gaidar was silent before it came down to it.
She hadn't yet seemed to have prepared for how this wasn't going to be over for now. Gaidar was a warrior and so was she, she was a warrior who still wanted to purely push herself to the best of her ability.
Perhaps she just wasn't the way she should have been. Perhaps it was something that he should have done without. It was odd, but he needed to have gotten over it.
Zesshi was an odd warrior, they had to continue training and he had to push her beyond her limits. If nothing else? He'd find something else to get mad at when it came down to it. When all of it was said and done, he'd still find some manner to question when today ended.
He smirked at this in pure amusement for all of what he had done for now. It needed to end, it would end and soon at the time being, any little problem would be cut up and done so nicely and it seemed to be something he could manage.
He swirled his sword and advanced on her, utterly ready to grind her into dust if needed as the two circled each other like hungry sharks ready to bite into the other.
They wanted blood and it was clear one way or another they'd get it in combat even if they had to rip down the other one. Yes, it seemed only fitting more and more that if anything. They'd be ready to strike like a cobra.
He swung his sword and was greeted with sparks from her scythe as the two weapons met and tossed one another back, sending him sliding backward as he lanced out forwards, his blade meeting her scythe.
Zesshi giggled, giggled vapidly like an insane loon at the idea at the time being as he slowly started to think of what to try and think. He slowly started to try and figure it out at the end of it all.
He didn't at all know what to try to understand at the time and he knew more of it and know it well. He grinned under his armor, utterly tired and worn down at the end as he bit into the attack, locking blades with her.
"You want war… Your eyes tell me so, I adore violence like this…" Zesshi giggled, her eyes seeming to gleam as he did so.
He snorted as he smirked at her and seemed eager to continue, eager to grow the fight more and more from what he knew it as. If anything? All her defiance did was stoke a fire in his pit as he seemed to be utterly tired, eager to fight back.
"You are going down, Zesshi. You haven't proved yourself yet… And this battle hasn't gotten fun enough." Gaidar stated before being kicked back.
Blood trickled from his maw as he slammed into them and were forced to fall to the ground as he did so. He knew more and more as she swung her scythe at him that she was not meek and she would not relent.
He was too eager to throw down with her as his blade once more met her scythe and sent her flying backward and into the wall. He almost crumpled to the ground as he panted, tired from the effort of even trying it.
She grinned and advanced on her wounded prey like a wolf hunting a rabbit only for him to plant a kick into her stomach, sending her skidding backward.
He cracked his fingers and looked downwards at the ground, tired more and more as he seemed utterly bored more and more. The pain was good, however, it told him that she would not be able to win so easily. It would be a fun match, one not easily defeated at the end of the time being.
He cracked his fingers. He didn't at all know at the time being before he seemed to think as of the time before he managed to fight again.
Still? if he was going to fight? He'd fight well and hard, it was just more and more fun, exhausting only after a few seconds of fighting… If she was this good? It would be fun to keep fighting her. And if she was so skilled for now? Well, he'd relax, for now, something that allowed him to keep fighting
"You're going to relax and I'm going to make you relax once more. There is just too much at stake for now… Too much for me to relax once more, I've not gotten anything to relax over." Gaidar stated before falling silent.
There was more to this, a lot more upon the fight as he looked down at the ground, something that allowed him to relax. He cracked his fingers and charged at her, able to focus as he spun his swords.
He didn't at all want something from her, he wanted a fight as both of them relaxed once more.
She smirked at her husband-to-be as she slammed her scythe into his sword, watching as sparks flew from his weapon and hers only for her to be thrown backward as he seemed to charge again, dodging one of her slashes and finally slamming her into the mountain.
Power and fury came from him as he relaxed once more, something that made her curious as she watched him, eager to see more fighting as she was able to relax once more, twirling her scythe at him as she managed to charge forwards, only for him to look to the side.
He didn't at all know her as he leaned on the wall next to her, something that interested her the entire time. he was powerful, skilled, and interested in something only she could and would settle over and over again at the moment and he was all too well over it all. He didn't at all wish to relax once more.
There were a few decisions of now and none of them involved peace. None of them wanted to give a damn inch.
If they began? If they found it to be an option? Doing so meant betraying the other's honor as a warrior and their skill and valor…. No, they wanted to savor it and savor it they shall as they circled one another, scraping their weapons along the ground like the teeth of giant sharks.
"Your possibly one of the only warriors I've met who could fight this long and it's rather fun to fight you… I'll be eager to keep fighting you if you want me to and I have a feeling I want to fight you just as much as you do me." Gaidar said before he looked down at the ground.
There was only so much more he could see it end now before he managed to back her down. he wanted so badly to continue fighting her and he likened it a lot more than he was used to dealing with any problems when it came down to it, a nightmare they didn't at all wish to require.
All of it hurt, in a massive desire? It would continue to be a massive desire they could only continue to figure out for the time being… They had a lot more to fight through, something that could and would continue to be a certain way,
There was only so much he could provide and then beat upon if she wanted a fight so badly? He'd graciously provide.
He surged forwards, striking her and sending her back skidding along the ground, it was only a few seconds before she slammed into him, sending them skidding down the hill.
He was able to reverse and kick her back, throwing her into the side of the mountain as he brought up his blade. He had no desire to stop fighting.
And he wouldn't, he blocked her scythe with his sword, sending sparks skidding everywhere as he hummed, prepared only to continue their duel as best he could. He slammed into her with sparks flying from their weapons, reminding him that he had been too exhausted to simply back off and allow it to end anytime soon.
It was a fight and one badly needed, one he had to keep working on again and again. He would stop at nothing to beat her even as he knew her all too well.
All of it was odder and odder as he tried to understand before now while he hummed to himself. There was a lot more to try and figure out now what to see and do next, every single little piece of mercy seemed to bother him.
All of it ended for now, all of the schemes seemed to be odder and odder as he looked down at the ground. The measures of mercy could not be overstated for now, he looked to himself and then at her for a few moments of mercy.
The ideas that he was throwing off, for now, were something that disturbed him to try and figure it all out as of now. They had a lot more to see and do and yet all this was doing was forcing him to the wall.
She grinned, pointing her scythe at him as the two started to circle the other once more, he sighed to himself before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. This wasn't going to be easy, but it would be rather fun for him and he knew more and more that the battle would bring.
They had so much, so damn much to deal with that he felt he couldn't even continue to respect it if he didn't break the cycle and then helped her end it for now.
Everything? Everything about it bothered them for now and would continue to do so now and forever until the end of the time being, something that kept being dealt with again and again as of now, something that kept figuring out what to try and deal with.
Something that needed to try and relax more and more as she hummed before she seemed to know something about it all seemed to be overtly amusing for now, utterly able to relax as of now.
There are a lot of things that keep being odder and odder as he hummed before he relaxed more and more, utterly able to be dealt with for now. Gaidar only paused, thinking more and more that whatever comes next? He didn't want any part in it all for the time being.
She had little to nothing in the way of now, knowing what came next, not willing to give ground, and respecting what needed to be dealt with personally as he hummed when faced and backed him while he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
Whatever came next? He would not allow it to end up this way, knowing that what may or may not come for now? well, it would be impossible to back down.
He slashed at her, knowing that he could keep fighting as he would to get better for now, he had little in the way as he hummed but continued to fight.
He blocked her scythe which sent him skidding backward as she giggled, advancing as she hummed, spinning her scythe as she clicked her fingers against one another. Gaidar sighed and yawned, utterly tired before spinning to the ground.
So much, the better… So much that continues to evade them for now, utterly able to relax, and yet? Gaidar chuckled, knowing that she was acting a lot tougher than usual, there was just too much to try and deal with she knew more and more.
Such things that bothered him only seemed to amuse him knowing that all of it was too much to deal with, an idea of something yet to come, an idea that only seemed to make him more annoyed.
'She's something else. I can't stop her, not when she's that powerful… There's got to be something to try and figure out as of now.' Gaidar stated before he sighed and looked to the side.
He didn't know her and didn't know what she wanted, so much dwelled upon now that it didn't at all seem to be fair for now, not when it could be dealt with in its way as of now.
This was something that cut deeper and deeper with each little second and it was funnier to him that it could not be so easily dealt with it all for now, no, not when he had so much to try and deal with at the moment.
The idea would not be able to relax, not simply capable of uncertainty more and more, knowing where they stood and could hope to stand and yet? Not willing to do more or less at the end of the day and didn't wish to relax.
There was more and more as he seemed to be dealt with for now when it came down to it for now as he sighed.
There was just too much to try and deal with for now as he spun his scythe and then looked downwards at the ground.
He spun his scythe which could be dealt with for now as he cracked his fingers, slashing his sword through the ground before she seemed to turn, utterly amused before relaxing.
It could be dealt with in a personal amusement for now. He would not allow anything to cut through the air before relaxing more and more, sighing to himself as he backed off as it came crashing down upon them.
It could be dealt with for now as it cracked his fingers, rushing forwards before sighing before humming and then seemed to relax more and more, leaning his sword against his wings.
He was utterly unsure of what to see and do next, watching as she seemed
