You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I'm alone
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
And dreaming when they're gone
She had asked him to meet her at the spot, their spot, among the roses underneath the willow tree. She had came to full terms with her life and slowly everything slipped into clear view, her past, the present, her abilities and the questions that had been forever ignored now answered. Her life was a puzzle finally finding all of its missing pieces. When she awoke memories of him and her pass life swam within her mind, the way they had met, the time he had saved her from a snake. Everything flashed like lightning tingling all of her senses, his smell, his touch, and his warmth all wonderfully familiar and exact.
Looking up she saw him standing a few feet away, his hair down around his shoulders tussling with the blow of the wind, his beautiful smile, and the way his eyes glowed like fire halos, illuminating and breathtaking. She stood quickly, running and jumping into his arms. He welcomed her with strong arms, kissing her cheek and snuggling his face within the crook of her neck. She smelled like vanilla and peaches. It was tantalizing. When they sat down she turned to face him as he lay among the flowers. They stayed quiet for a long while before she asked the question that had lingered for a while on her lips.
"What was it like? When I… when I died? What happened to you?" she asked.
He looked at her, stern eyes, burning a hole through her.
"Victoria… please, don't ask me that. That time is not one I wish to remember." He said.
"But I want to know." She pushed. And he let out a deep sigh.
"You won't like what I have to say." He said.
"But I want to know." She said again.
He sat up and caressed her cheek. He was hesitant. "Ok, if you really want to know, then I'll tell you." He said. Victoria adjusted herself turning her full attention on him. "At first it was like hell. Every minute of every day, every waking second, was torture. There were times when I'd see your face, and it was just so clear, your image, you, like you were still here, still around me. It was hard for me to let go." He said, stopping to swallow the spit that had gathered in his mouth. "I wasn't a nice person Victoria; I was walking hell, not a saint, worse than a sinner. I killed people, innocent people, because I was bitter, because I was hurt, because the world had taken you and I wanted everyone to suffer along with me."
Tori was shocked, her stomach turned and her mouth fell open. "I had gotten so bad that Jade had to intervene, she had people, other vampires; send me away to the Rebelle Academy. It's a rehab for vampires, those who cannot control themselves or live under the law, are sent there to be healed. What they would do is place me in a black room, black rooms are closed, just stoned walls, and they would bind me by unbreakable chains and starve me until I lost all sense of the world, everything went black, I was starving and the blood lust shook my skin so that it felt like sandpaper was rubbing against my ribs and my throat felt as dry as a thousand desserts combined." He said. Tori started to cry, tears leaking down her cheeks from his confession. "Eventually I got better, took up the habit of photography and I went out into the world again. Traveled, waiting for the day that you'd come back."
Tori cried uncontrollably then, her heart thundering in her chest. Beck whipped away her cheeks and hushed her lowly, "It's alright now Victoria, everything's alright. You're back, safe, and I promise you I will never let anything hurt you ever again."
Tori cupped his cheek and smiled weakly, "And I'll protect you."
"Is that so?" he smiled. The dreariness of the conversation taking a lighter tone, "Yes." She replied. He leaned his forehead against hers and they closed their eyes and took in the moment as his words had finally all settled down in her head.
"I want to see your face." She said, "Your true face." Beck opened his eyes, his orbs still glowing like fire halos he smiled. Waiting on him she smiled back, beckoning him to change his face. Slowly he did what she asked, his fangs sprang forth and the veins underneath his eyes had spread along his cheeks, black veins, going along underneath brown fire halo eyes. She slowly touched him, appreciating the uniqueness of it. "Wow." She breathed. He moved closer, hovering over her slightly as she lay back against the grass. "Is this the part where I ask you to bite me?" she said, "Change me forever?" Beck laughed, "That could only happen one way Victoria, you know that." He said as she closed her eyes. He hovered over her and smiled, his fingers lingering over her lips as he brought his face to her neck. "Go on." She smiled. Flipping back her hair he leaned down until his eyes looked upon her shoulder and over to her neck. His smile faded instantly, his face turning back to its normal human form. His fingers touched her neck and she almost swore she heard a snarl. Victoria's eyes flashed open as she looked up at Beck. He looked furious.
Tori looked at her shoulder and back to him, there was nothing there, just skin, perfectly clear skin.
"What? What's wrong?" she asked.
He looked at her and shuddered, "Who did you let bite you?" he asked.
Tori's mouth fell open and instantly everything clicked together in his head. "We have to go. Come on, get up, let's go." He snapped. Quickly she got to her feet. "Wait, I don't understand, what's wrong?" she asked. Quickly he wrapped her in his arms and flashed quickly to her car. "Keys." He asked as she fumbled and took them out of her jeans, passing them to him. "Get in." he said as he took the driver seat.
He drove crazy fast back to his home, all along the way she tried to get him to calm down, to ease the thick tension that formed so suddenly. He didn't listen though; too clouded by what was bothering him. Just as fast he parked up to the house, turning off the ignition he got out and stormed up the house, Tori following close behind.
Once inside he barked for his sister, "JADE!" he yelled. "Come out come out and play." Beck yelled, his hands bawling into tight fists. "JADE?" he yelled again making Tori flinch.
Jade then appeared at the top of the staircase, a smile prying on her lips. "Did you call for me?" She asked, innocently. In a flash Beck was up the stairs and slamming Jade against the wall. Looking up at him she smiled wickedly, "Feel better?" she asked.
"Not even close." He seethed, taking her and slamming her against another wall, his hands tightening around her neck.
"STOP IT!" Tori yelled, "PLEASE, JUST STOP."
Neither listening to her Jade broke her brothers hold on her neck and pushed him so hard he flew back, down the hall and on his back. Though he didn't stay down, just as quickly he got up and flung himself at her, to this she kicked him midair, making him gasp, and then punching him in the face she flashed and held him by his neck against the opposite wall. He broke her hold until they were both holding each other by the neck, fangs out, teeth bearing.
Tori ran up the stairs just as Cat had entered the hallway. "Let her go Beck, before you find yourself with nails down your back." Cat said.
"Please stop it. Please." Tori said looking at both, pleading, frantic. Slowly they let each other go, stepping back.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Tori asked Beck, angry.
"Why don't you tell Tori, mm Jade?" Beck said.
"I asked you." Tori said folding her arms.
"Tori, do you have any idea what she has done?" Beck asked.
Tori looked her shoulder, and felt her neck; no signs of the bite from her dream were present. She was utterly lost. "What are you talking about?" Tori asked.
"She bit you." Beck said.
"That's because I asked her to." Tori said.
"No, no you didn't ask her for this." Beck said defensively.
"what-?" Tori started before Jade intervened.
"It's just a little claim." Jade said.
"Claiming isn't a little matter." Beck snapped.
"Claim? Wait… What are you two talking about?" Tori asked.
"She claimed you Tori!" Beck yelled.
"Oh boy." Cat murmured.
"What does that mean?" Tori asked, looking frantic between the twins.
"When a vampire claims a human, they claim them for themselves. It's a body bond, a blood bond; no other vampire can touch you, not with the mark of claim on your neck." Beck said, sounding devastated.
Tori looked again to her shoulder and then over to a mirror in the hall, she saw nothing. "It's invisible to the human eye." Beck said.
"Oh." Tori said, unsure of how to feel. "Well that doesn't sound so bad, I mean at least now no other vampire can touch me."
"Yeah, including me." Beck said.
"I did it to keep her safe." Jade said.
"No, you did this for you, you claimed her for yourself, so that I couldn't touch her." Beck snapped.
"Maybe that's what's best for her." Jade snapped back.
"Maybe that's not your call to make." Beck said stepping closer.
Just before shit could hit the fan Tori got in between the two and pushed her hands against their chests. "Stop fighting, now!" she snapped. "Please for me, just stop. I don't need you two to be at odds, not when my life is just starting to fall into place, please. No one knows what's best for me better than I do, now both of you cut it out." Tori said looking between the two.
They backed off. Tori looked to Jade, "We need to talk, now." Jade nodded. Turning away she walked into one of the many rooms in that hall. Tori looked at Beck, "Please, give us a moment." She said before turning away and following Jade.
Cat tisked at him, a smile creeping on her lips, and then in a flash she was gone.
(x)
"Are you angry at me?" Jade asked her, sitting on the bed.
Tori looked around the guest room and shrugged. "No, not really, just confused."
"About?" Jade asked.
"Why me?" Tori asked as she sat down next to her friend.
"I don't know. I guess I was just jealous." Jade said.
Tori looked at her and scrunched her eyes.
"Of you and Beck, I don't know, you two seem to have a connection that I can't comprehend. I wanted that." Jade confessed.
"What? Jade you can't be serious." Tori said with a smile. "Jade you're my best friend. The closest person to me in the world, my memories aren't all back and even with our freaky soul bound situation, I've always felt closest to you. No matter what, it's always been you, Jade."
Jade turned to her. "I understand that, and you're my best friend too. But I want you Tori, a part of you that Beck can't have. Does that make me horrible?"
"No." Tori said. She understood her perfectly; she herself has wondered why Jade chose to turn Cat in her absence.
"Jade when I died… how did you take it?" Tori asked.
"Why would you ask such a thing?" Jade said.
"Because I want to know..." Tori said.
"I suppose… it was hard really, really hard. I didn't cope too well, didn't cope at all. I was depressed all the time, and at times I even contemplated killing myself." Jade said.
Tori gasped, her hands flying to cover her mouth from the shock. "You were the most important person in my world Tori, the most; I just didn't know how to handle losing you." Jade said. "Though Beck was far worse than me something struck a chord within me when he went manic, something dark and sinister, made me want to go manic too, but I didn't. Instead I settled for turning Cat." Jade said.
Tori swallowed hard. "Why?"
"Because I was lonely," Jade said, looking into Tori's eyes, "I was selfish when I turned her but she was so accepting, so wonderful to me. She let me turn her with no regards for her former life. And when I did I no longer felt the sting of loneliness. And I decided I would be better, not great, but better, waiting for the day when you'd return." She said.
Tori was broken, she didn't realize how her death had cause such darkness in the people she had loved most. Jade contemplated death, Beck went mental and her own mother hanged herself. Everything suddenly felt too overwhelming and she cried.
"Does it bother you Victoria? How much I care." Jade asked.
Bitterly she swallowed her tears and turned away. Tori knew Jade didn't only care for her but she burned with as much passion as Beck did for her, with as much love and dedication, waiting all those years for her to return. Jade loved her, was in love with her, now that, that was something she couldn't cope with well.
Tori took Jade's hand and laid down across the bed, taking Jade's arm she pulled it over her waist and closed her eyes. No. I can not speak the three words you want, but I have laughed better with you than with anyone else. There is a small room in my body and it is full of you.
Hey Lunalight here, yeah so I'm excited about up coming things for this story, things are most certainly going to be heating up real soon, some murders and mysteries and even a little romance here and there. Next chapter the gang is going to show Tori what it means to truly be a vampire and they might even go to a Blood Rave.
AlleyCat89: Waiting for some more Bori moments they're my favourite! Hopefully she ends up with only one of them and not both cause that's weird. A: Tori is certainly NOT going to end up with both of them, haha, not at all. She's just starting to figure out her life and as memories keep coming back she'll have to come to terms with her feelings for both siblings and vise versa.
Just so we're clear again, I do know already who Tori will end up with and I'm certain it'll be an ending that will leave EVERYBODY happy. Both Jori/Bori fans.
Please stick with me and leave me a review.
