Kagome knew better than to ignore the orders of a taiyoukai. She undressed quickly, setting her fresh clothes to the side, folded neatly; she piled her dirty ones into the bottom of the bag as organized as possible. Taking her drying cloth, she laid it out on a large boulder close to the lakes edge, and then slowly dipped her feet into it. Feeling the cool water hit her overheated skin; Kagome shivered lightly, and then quickly dunked herself under. Knowing that the taiyoukai would only cause her trouble if she didn't hurry, she set to cleaning her body thoroughly. Youkai had very heightened senses, Inu especially, and Kagome knew that if she was even slightly malodorous, she would offend his senses.
God I would hate to stink to him. He probably thinks I'm some kind of heathen, having been covered in sweat when I showed up. The thought made her stop in her tracks. Since when did she care what he thought about her?

But it wasn't just that. She cared, and that was all that mattered.
