After their little tussle, they traveled down the roads, heading north-west towards a rather large village that was just a day and a half from Kaede's. About two hours later they had veered off the road and onto a small, almost invisible path, and they were approaching a small clearing. Kagome took a small, cautious whiff of the air, searching for predators, prey, and a nearby hot spring or river. The smell of sulfur burned her nose and she sighed in relief. She wasn't positive that they were stopping, but she was sure that if they were, she would need a soak in the springs.
Unexpectedly a soft scent crossed her path. It was a sweet, slightly floral scent, obviously belonging to a female. But what got her was that it was a human female. Along with that was the smell of a dragon youkai, and an inu-hanyou, both male. Her lip curled back and her nose scrunched up in disgust at the hanyou's scent. How long had it been since the barbarian had last bathed?
Kagome kept her thoughts to herself and continued to follow Sesshoumaru down the tiny path and into the clearing where the three beings were waiting for them. Kagome's eyes widened in disbelief as a young girl ran to the taiyoukai and hugged his leg. What shocked her more was that he only patted her head and sent her off to play in the field of flowers. The dragon youkai approached Sesshoumaru slowly and bowed respectfully.
"My lord, I have watched the young girl as per your instructions. There have been no disturbances in the area, as of yet." The youkai stood straight, awaiting his master's orders.
Sesshoumaru nodded, "Kagome, this is the captain of my personal guard, Ryurika. Ryurika, this is Kagome. You will be charged with watching her when I am otherwise occupied."
"Excuse me? Now wait just one moment. I do NOT need someone to watch me! I am no child. I can take care of myself, thank you." Kagome's ears twitched in agitation atop her head.
Sesshoumaru glared at her for a minute before returning his attention to the dragon youkai, "If she is not with me or in her chambers, you shall be with her."
Ryurika bowed his head, confirming he understood, "As you wish, my lord."
Sesshoumaru turned back to Kagome, who was glaring at him in anger, and internally smirked, "We will camp here for the night. You may go to the springs if you wish, but do not wander any farther than that."
She flushed in embarrassment at his insinuation of her getting lost, and turned on her heel to make her way to the spring. He sure has some nerve! What a jerk!
Kagome stomped the rest of the way to the hot springs, her aura flaring madly around her, warning any small animals or low level youkai away from the area. Stupid bastard! Who does he think he is?! Arrogant inu!
She dropped her pack by the edge of the spring and quickly stripped her clothing off. She slipped into the hot water slowly and sighed at the sensation it sent through her. She relaxed, closing her eyes for a few moments before starting to clean herself. I'll get back at him somehow.
A/N: Well, here's another chapter. I know I updated a lot tonight. But this is the last chapter I have written out.
