Things are bumpy when Emily first joins the team. A breakup, a divorce, and a one-night-stand turn into something a little more than either one was expecting. Involves the usual characters - JJ, Garcia, Emily, Hotch, Reid, Morgan, Rossi.

Spencer Reid is teaching college students about criminology and the BAU's work. Among them is Theo Holston, who notices a crime pattern in Quantico that point to a serial killer. Without the original team, he knows that it's up to him to find out more about this criminal and how to stop them. He can't do it alone, so he asks the help of some of his classmates.

During the pandemic, Reid is so successful in his white collar unit the director gives him a budget allocation for anything he can think of. Recently engaged, he struggles with too many ideas until a San Francisco detective calls him. There is a young woman brilliant like Reid, but also deeply troubled. Reid makes it his mission to help this woman become the next him.
