He wasn't much of a fighter. The disease running through his veins killed him every time and he never fought back. He knew death was waiting for him so he did nothing but wait. Wait and wait and wait.
He sat outside of the hospital's garden, filling his lungs with the fresh air he needs. The rustling of the leaves emitted a peaceful aura around him. This kind of peace was what he needed and not those overly priced medications. He looked once more around his surroundings, admiring them, wondering if he would still remember this immense beauty in the afterlife. He sighed, he decided it was nearly impossible.
Within those train of thoughts, a branch snapped. The boy twitched in surprise. His eyes scanned his surroundings but found no soul that was within his eyesight. He took a deep breath and convinced himself that it was just his imagination. With that said, he went ahead and started closing his eyes.
He didn't fall asleep right away. There was something beside him and he just didn't know what it was. No longer able to tolerate the uncomfortable feeling, he opened his eyes to the most surprising scene yet. Another boy staring at him intently. Now this was really weird because not only that, the blond was brushing the his hair ever so gently. He pushed away the mystery teen and began to run away.
He has heard this rumor before. A vicious werewolf lived within the premises of the hospital. He didn't believe it one bit, saying that it was just a childish way of saying that he wasn't allowed to be away from the hospital but now, everything begged to differ.
Thoughts clashed in his mind, if this werewolf was so vicious, why did he not kill him right away? Why not chase after him? He was clearly outmatched and there was no way he could even fight back so why is he still alive? He continued pondering for a few more moments when, instinctively, he reached for his necklace only to find it missing around his neck. Panic started to rise and the young boy's chest started to ache. Wheezing and clutching to his chest, he wondered if he was at his end. Outside of the hospital with no help to be found, this was surely the end of everything. After a few more moments of painful torture, his vision turned black.

Something was shining just beneath the tree where the human boy once laid. The wolf picked it up without hesitation and read the inscriptions engraved on it.
"Fiducia Amore"
The wolf held it up, oblivious to the writings on it. What ever is he going to do now? This doesn't belong to him and the necklace serves no purpose to him either. The idea of returning it was dancing in his mind and he had a really big idea on who owns it but judging from the boy's expression earlier, was he still sane enough to accept it?
The wolf had enough of this thinking and decided to take action. He sprung to the direction of the boy and was he surprised to find him laying on the ground, seemingly lifeless.
"What should I do? What should I do?!" the wolf panicked. "Maybe returning this might save him!"
The innocent wolf tried to return the necklace around his neck, hoping that it would lift the pain from the boy but he was wrong.
"UGH! Enough of this!" the wolf carried the boy on his back and ran to the hospital, where he laid him in bed.
o-o-o-o-o
The boy blinked, regaining his vision to see a familiar place.
"W-where am I?" the boy asked as he awoke.
"Angelo my dear boy!" the woman hugged him.
"M-mom?" Angelo asked.
"I was so worried! I-I thought you were leaving us!" his mother sobbed.
"I was outside and then... then..." Angelo looked down, hands clutching his head.
"Ssssh.. It doesn't matter anymore, all that is important is that you're okay." his mother cradled him in her arms.
Angelo was worried. How did he get there? Was everything he saw a dream? He touched his neck and sure enough, the necklace he treasured was present.
"Maybe it was a dream after all," he thought.

Another chance to escape from the horrid room and as usual, Angelo took it. He stretched his limbs and relaxed his back on a tree just outside of the hospital. His mother forbade him to take any step outside the premises of the hospital and as much as he hated it, he obeyed. He loves his mother so much and did something he didn't like just to give his mother peace.
Still silence loomed the area until the snapping sounds of branches pierced the atmosphere. Angelo stood up abruptly only to find himself holding unto the tree until his dizzy head calmed down. His vision started to fade and he was about to fall when he felt gentle hands hold him.
Luscious emerald eyes stared back at him. Golden locks and something sticking out of his head. He had snow white skin and a muscular tone.
"A-a-a-are y-y-ou oka-ay?" the voice stuttered like a 2 year old sad about his broken toy.
"W-who are you?" Angelo asked, slowly regaining vision.
"I'm... I'm..." the man stopped and sat down, laying Angelo on his leg.
"Soft, fuzzy and warm," Angelo smiled
The man was confused. He did not have an idea what to do or what to talk about but this was his first encounter with an actual human being who was not running away or chasing him with pitchforks and torches. This little boy was frail and fragile, unlike him. He might accidentally crush him and kill him, spreading more rumors about his bad reputation.
"Mister..." Angelo rubbed his cheek on the leg but suddenly opened his eyes. He slowly sat down and looked at his savior. Sharp teeth, fierce green eyes, golden fur-ed tail and little ears sprouting from his ears. Was this a dream? He asked himself 15 times until the other man spoke.
"I-I-I need to go now," the wolf stood up and left.
"WAIT!" Angelo shouted but was surprised of the words.
The wolf turned around, looking at him with a puzzling face.
"Were you with me yesterday? Were you the one who returned my necklace?!" Angelo asked, remembering his so called dream.
"Y-y-yes. I'm sorry, I didn't take it on purpose," the wolf stared down.
"No, I'm actually very happy!" Angelo smiled.
The wolf's eyes dilated and his face turned beet red and he was off, running in the woods.
XxXx
The next day, the wolf waited outside, right beside the tree where they have first officially met. Angelo, being as sneaky as possible, went out to see this wolf friend of his. Everyday, this tradition would go on. Everyday, they would be together and contented.
"Why do you have no friends?" the wolf asked.
Angelo giggled.
"It's because... Well... Stuff right now are too complicated and I don't want those friends to get mixed up with it," Angelo said.
"Oh," the wolf's face turned sour.
"You look upset, Wolf. Why is that so?"
"I just um... err... assumed we were friends," the wolf looked away, his face red with embarrassment.
This time, Angelo smiled.
"Silly, we are friends,"
"But you said you don't want friends to get mixed up with your complicated stuff," the wolf pointed out.
"I did but you are worth that risk. Now, let me ask you, are you up for that risk?" Angelo stared him dead in the eyes.
Of course, the wolf was in his own bliss. He thought he could handle at and responded with a yes. Both were satisfied with each response. Both were happy.

One windy afternoon, the boy didn't come. The wolf felt anxious, just waiting above their special tree. He couldn't stand it so he started approaching the boy's room.
"...You take care, okay?" an unfamiliar voice filled the atmosphere.
"Thanks, you too" Angelo's voice responded.
The wolf felt relieved. Angelo was still up and about, still fine and dandy. However, he had a guest. Someone who had black hair and black eyes but was wearing a big pair of glasses.
He observed them and waited for this mystery boy to leave but something else happened.
This other man gave Angelo a peck on the cheek and left.
Tears fell from the vampire as he looked at his hands. Sharp nails, hairy skin. Noticing his tail and touching his sharp teeth as if it was never there. He felt sharp pains in his chest. He had almost forgotten that he was a wolf and the boy is a mere human. He furiously shook his head.
He went back to the forest in a dashing speed.
"Why?" he asked himself.
"WHY?!" he shouted at the world.
His face glistened with the tears flowing down his cheeks. He never felt this way before, it was something so scary yet so familiar.
Has this happened before? Did it really hurt like this? He would repeatedly ask himself.
Short periods of time with him wasn't enough but he knew what he has to do. He paused and breathed in. He knew what he must do.
The vibrant blue sky who would always come and save him from the horrid night will soon be tainted the red color of dawn.
XxXx
Next day, the boy came back but surprise, surprise, the wolf was not there.
"Wolf! Where are you? I'm sorry for not coming yesterday, I had a guest." the boy called out.
"..."
"Please! Answer me!"
Still nothing. He was about to cry a but a tail full of fur made his heart skip a beat.
"Angelo, get out of here. I'm on my high craving for food. If you don't leave now, I might..." the wolf stopped, disgusted with what he was about to say.
The boy stood there. He knew well enough the next words he was about to say. He did not leave but instead stayed and sat under the tree.
"No! Get out of here! Can't you understand that you might die?"
"I don't care."
"Why?!"
"Because my life belongs to you, remember? I owe it to you." the boy smiled innocently.
Tears fell from the wolf's face all over again again.
"I can't really do anything much for you but if you want, I'll be under this tree, waiting for you," the boy closed his eyes.
"I to-to-told you n-no," the wolf stuttered "I don't want your body. I can't feed from you, I can never do that."
"Why?" the boy asked, his eyes now open and full of curiosity.
"Something's are meant to change," the wolf avoided the question.
"Why?!" the boy now knelt down, looked up to the wolf who hid behind the branches of their tree.
"It doesn't matter,"
"Why? Am that useless?! Am I not good enough to serve someone who has served me?!" Angelo started to whimper.
"..."
"Tell me why!"
"Because... you are my friend!" the wolf said. "No, something even more than that. I-I feel so nervous, I become so conscious with you! I- I felt so good and happy and I have been having strange feelings in my stomach. That doesn't happen between friends, right?!"
The boy took a surprised look first but the smiled.
"Why are you smiling?" the vampire asked.
"I never knew you'd feel that way. I love you, too. From the very moment you saved me, I fell in love." the boy said.
"L-love?" the wolf titled his head.
"Love, how you described your feelings, it's called love,"
"If that's the case then i-it's not love you're feeling," the wolf grimaced.
"Oh, why is that?"
"You love me because I saved you, not because me. No one would even dare be friends with me so why would you even love me?"
"Do you have so little faith in me, Wolf?" the boy cornered him.
"I-it's not that. You are just too fragile for someone like me, I might end up killing you," the wolf shivered but continued on, "Don't you know how much have I craved to touch you? To hold you? To be beside you always?"
Angelo kept silent.
"I'm a monster who fell in love with a fragile human. This can never work," the wolf gave a hard look.
"But the human fell in love with the vampire, too," Angelo continued.
The wolf pondered for a moment but finally said his unspoken thoughts.
"I've never believed in those gods you praised but after I met you, I suddenly began to pray. Day and night, I prayed that this cursed fangs and abnormal cravings would disappear but they didn't. It will never happen, it's too impossible,"
"Angelo?! Angelo, il mio sole! Where are you!?" a voice broke the serious atmosphere.
"Oh no, mother!" Angelo called out.
"Angelo! Please, please be alive!" Angelo's mother mourned.
"I'm here..."
Hands covered his mouth.
"Angelo!" his mother came in with 3 security guys following her.
"Come any near and I'll kill him." the voice warned.
"Y-you! You're that horrible wolf who lives in the woods!" Angelo's mother exclaimed, her face turning pale when her eyes landed on her son's face. "LET GO OF MY SON!"
Angelo was surprised by the wolf's action. He struggled to look up and see his face but no use. The wolf clenched his face far too tightly.
"Let the boy go or else." the guard said pointing a gun to him.
"If you shoot, he'll be brought along. We don't want that, do we?" the wolf's smile sent chills to their smile.
The guards looked at each other and nodded.
"You're not planning on shooting, are you?" the mother asked.
"Sorry ma'am, necessary sacrifices are needed. We need to kill this wolf now that we have the chance." the guard sternly apologized.
Guns readied and fingers were on the trigger, they are ready to shoot.
"NO-"
She was too late. The bullet was blown from the gun. In a split second, blood was spilled all over the grassy floor.
"A-Angleo!" the mother ran to her son.
The boy did not move. He heard nothing, he saw nothing. The bullet moved slowly, the wolf lets go and pushed Angelo away. His smile, his dazzling smile that mismatched his grieving eyes gave him one last ray of hope. His mouth moved, saying the last words the boy would ever hear from him.
"I'll see you on the other side, someday."
Beads of tears strolled down his face as they glistened through the rays of sunlight. Angelo's body started to shake in fear and as anticipated, another attack came. He clutched his necklace and found it tainted with the wolf's blood.
Fiducia Amore
"T-t-tr-ust l-l-lov-e," Angelo translated through the little breaths he could take.
"Angelo my love, breathe! Breathe!" his mother's words were so distant.
"Ma'am let me carry him, we have to hurry!" one of the guards said.
He felt his body getting lighter, the world was getting darker but he knew it wasn't time yet. This time, the wolf's sad death would keep him alive.
XxXx
A few years passed and Angelo has done well to keep himself alive. After that incident, he started taking his medicine seriously and stayed inside the room when he told to stay. He did not disobey, he did not give a rant. He was, of course, released from the hospital but he came back. Back to the backyard forest, back to the tree where he spent his happier years.
25 years, he lived for 25 years. He stood way past the mortality rate the doctors gave him. He live for more than 10 years than he was supposed to.
He sung a little song just before he moved to paradise.
"Don't let me down, oh show me you care. Remember when you give, you'll also get a share.
Don't let me down, I have no time to wait. Tomorrow might not come, by then will be too late..."
"So what do you think?" Murata asked.
"That was so.. so-" Yuri found himself lost in words.
"It was so, drastic!" the maids sobbed altogether.
"Hmph! As if that happens in real life!" Wolfram exclaimed.
"Who knows. They might have been reincarnated one way or the other," Murata replied.
"Why did the w-wolf use Angelo as his shield?" one of the maids asked, just in between her sobs.
"Well, the wolf knew from the beginning that the guards were highly doubting Angelo because of his constant absences and escapes from the hosptial. They thought he was with the wolf and they were right. So they planned on using him as bait to lure him in and kill Angelo in the process so he devised that plan and took it into place." Murata explained. "He died just to protect Angelo."
"Eh? Is that so? Might as well be like Yuri and I!" Wolfram declared.
"What made you think that?" Yuri asked.
"Well, it just fits perfectly, you being a wimp and I saving you in the end." Wolfram proudly said.
"Your confidence is just too much for me," Yuri's sweat dropped.
"Just think about it!" Wolfram exclaimed.
"Well, mentioning the name to be um, Italian I think? Hm... It means... It means.."
"Angel," Murata filled in.
"Right and I'm the demon king so where's the connection?"
"Well yeah-"
While the others were distracted, Shinou sat on Murata's shoulder and whispered.
"It's them, aren't they?"
"Yup. The wolf never knew that I was actually Angelo's brother. I was the one whom Angelo passed the story unto. He told me everything right before he felt like he was about to die," Murata explained.
"Hm? As sharp as ever my great sage," Shinou praised.
"I know." Murata said as he fixed his glasses to let the light shine on it, making his eyes completely unreadable.
The story didn't end. It never will. As long as those two souls find each other, the story would go on for an eternity. The would keep talking to each other, teasing each other, smiling at each other and most of all, they will always meet again.
