Merry christmas and good night

The shock of the fact that Ember had used magic when she shouldn't have been able to quickly wore off as my order registered in everyone's mind and they attacked Thanos as one. As our army swarmed towards Thanos I fought my way back to Ember, glimpsing through the crowd as my friend fell over out of view. When I finally made it through Loki, Nari, and Vali had all hung back. Vali was cradling a barely conscious Ember in his arms as Loki and Nari looked at the battle in front of them.

"Ember!" I dropped down next to them and looked at Vali.

"I think she'll be fine," Vali assured me, I breathed a sigh of relief. "She just used too much magic is all."

"Sarah you stupid idiot." I muttered as she looked as me and gave a weak smile.

"Hey I was only doing what I saw you and Loki doing in training. I'll be fine alright?" She coughed and Vali held her tighter, I stood up and turned to Loki and Nari who were still watching the fight.

"You okay?" I asked the two of them Loki seemed to snap out of a trance when he looked at me, he nodded. Nari on the other hand didn't look at me, or anything at all, except for when we could see Thanos for a few seconds at a time as he tried to fight his way out of the crowd. An idea flashed through my mind and this might be the only time to do it. Going up to Nari, I tapped his shoulder and he slowly turned to me.

I socked him right across the face.

"That was for Bowtie!" I said as Nari cried out startled, he fell to the ground, Loki looked at me shocked. I held out my hand to Nari,

"And this, is for helping us fight." Nari looked incredulously up to Loki who shrugged. Nari then looked at me, he then raised his hand and gripped mine as I pulled him up.

"I guess I deserved that." He said sheepishly, I agreed.

"Oh it looks like we missed all the fun." I nearly jumped out of my skin as Amora, Skurge, and Captain America suddenly appeared out of nowhere next to me.

"Where have you guys been!?" I asked, Steve looked just as surprised as I was.

"The good caption here was helping get mortals out of the way of danger, unlike the rest of you apparently." Amora said nodding to the fight. "Skruge and I kept the chitauri from killing humans as he did so when I felt Thanos's presence. And now we are here." I felt partially bad that while a lot of the people who could help the most were here, Steve had to do mass control all by himself.

"So what now?" Steve asked getting his bearings.

"We are going to join the fight." Amroa grinned and soon she and Skurge were swallowed by the violent crowd.

"And what are we going to do?" Ember asked standing up shakily with the support of Vali. Before anyone gave the one suggestion we were all thinking of going to fight Thanos, A howl sounded.

It was Fenrir.

Thanos felt rage and hatred, and what surprised and scared him the most, desperation.

This was not how it was supposed to be going! This was not going how he had planned it, not at all. This was supposed to be easy, crushing a few bugs that claimed to be intelligent, and then burn their world out of existence. It wasn't supposed to be this, him being surrounded by all sides and being pelted on mercilessly. The constant beating had weakened him but he was not going to admit defeat so easily. Not because of these ants, he was going to watch them burn.

Thanos went to raise the hand with the Infinity Gauntlet to blast them all off the planet in a fiery explosion, when he heard a howl. The hoard that was in front of him parted quickly, Thanos saw why when Loki's wolf beast son came barreling at him. Thanos didn't have time to defend himself as before he could, the wolf slammed into him.

Thanos flew back several dozen yards, hitting the concrete and skidded several more feet. Before he could regain his footing he heard something whooshing towards him and before he knew it an enormous snake was coiled around him, quickly squeezing the breath from his lungs, and then squeezed harder.

Hela signaled for her army to continue fighting the chitauri, she could handle Thanos. She, the avengers, Amora and Skurge, along with Nari, Vali, Bowtie, Jayfeather, Fenrir, Chilly, Ember, Sif and the warrior's three, and finally a mortal from the organization SHIELD advanced on Thanos. She saw everyone else go back to fighting chitauri, Hela grinned darkly as her hands glowed black with magic.

We raced towards Thanos, he struggled in vain to free himself from Jormungand's tight hold. He was severely wounded but that didn't mean he might be able to get out before we reached him. Though, Jor seemed pretty keen on crushing Thanos to death before we reached them. Jayfeather and Bowtie flanked me, with Vali and Ember to my left and Nari and Loki to my right. Fenrir closed the distance the fastest, he snarled and snapped at Thanos who still could not move. I formed an ice dagger in my hand, I was going to kill Thanos, that is, if Hela didn't beat me. Because from the look on her face, she just might.

The group of heros, all made one by their actions in battle that day, formed a line in front of the trapped titan. Thanos growled and spit threats at them, but none were afraid.

"Well Thanos," Tony said flying to almost directly in front of Thanos, "It looks like we win."

"You will never win, because I never lose." Thanos panted, weak from his injuries and lack of oxygen. Jormungand curled tighter causing Thanos to give a small groan as the rest of the air left his body.

"Yeah well I'm fairly certain that you've lost. Better luck next time, that is, if you manage to somehow come back from the dead." Tony said, Thanos laughed low.

"And that is why I'll never lose! Because even if I die my beautiful lady Death will be waiting for me, live or die, I. Win."

"You're wrong Thanos." Hela said stepping forward a few feet, sneering. "When you die you won't be with your Death, safe. You'll be with me," She wore a vicious grin, slowly walking forward more with every word "And all of my wrath for what you have done to my brother and my father. You will suffer at my hands just as they have, we will have so much fun. And do you know what the best part is?" Hela asked softly, she had used magic to leviate to Thanos's eye level. She was delighted to see doubt and maybe just a hint of fear in his eyes. Whispering close she said,

"I. Am. Lady. Death."

I didn't know what Hela had said to Thanos because she whispered it but the reaction was astounding.

"No! You lie!" Thanos shrieked, trying even harder to escape Jormungand. He continued to struggle, he wasn't paying attention to Hela, but I was. I watched as Hela formed an obsidian black scythe, almost like Ember's, and brought it back like she was going to swing. Where Ember's scythe had a flaming blade, Hela's was pure black but somehow glinted blood red in the sunlight. That was when Thanos finally noticed, disbelief etched in his face.

"Good bye." Was all Hela said, then she brought her scythe arching down.

Thanos's head fell to the ground.

The chitauri all froze like a switch had been flipped, then they all fell simultaneously. All across the world the chitauri once again fell dead, this time, finally, for good. Hela's spirit warriors, Asgards warriors, SHIELD's agents, HYDRA's agents, and all of the world's fighting soldiers were united in a moment of confused.

Then they cheered.

I could hardly believe it, it was over. It was finally over. Our group was silent before Fenrir raised his head and howled triumphantly into the sky. Everybody immediately relaxed, they knew it was over too. I went to hug Ember but when I turned I saw that she and Vali were, uh, making out kind of, um, aggressively. Turning away rather quickly Loki was looking at me and grinning happily as was Nari. Bowtie and Jayfeather were running around, barking and purring. Agent Lucas was radioing in her team, Amora looked on with amusement while Skurge nodded once to me before they were both gone in a flash of green. Thor was celebrating with Sif and the warriors three, Clint and Natasha were also making out. Hulk shrank down back to Bruce, Stark was helping him stay on his feet. Cap was talking to his earbud (to Fury I believe). Lastly Peter swung down over to me,

"Well," He said breathless. "That was something, certainly the most interesting christmas I've ever had." I grinned,

"Totally."

"So what now?" He asked looking around, the city was in shambles. Chitauri laid dead everywhere along with some of our own.

"I'm not sure." As I said that Hela came over to us and was holding a large, bloody, Infinity gauntlet.

"I have retrieved the gauntlet along with Thanos's soul, as horrid and deformed as it is." Hela said satisfied. "Lady Chilly what do you plan on doing now? Thanos is defeated, you no longer have a need to stay in this universe, will you return to yours?"

"I think so." I said, "I mean, we did what we came here to do, even if Ember's trip was a bit unplanned, so I don't see a reason to stay except..." I looked at Ember and Vali who were no longer kissing and just holding each other. Bowtie and Jayfeather were playing with Fenrir and Jormungand, and here I was talking to Spider Man and queen of the underworld. "Well, maybe just a few."
