Kate was still trying to come to grip with how much her old friend had changed and deep down she knew it was her fault, the day he left, the day he found out she was to wed was the day that Humphrey the fun loving omega died and Humphrey the vicious lone wolf was born.
Meanwhile…
Humphrey was currently drinking from the stream that ran through the forest, when the wind changed direction and a familiar scent entered his nostrils and his closed eyes snapped open. His head rose, ears perked as started looking round to see where the scent was coming from, that was then he hear shallow breathing coming from his left, behind him.
"Alright…you can come out now I know you're there" Humphrey stated in a bored tone before the bushes began to ruffle and out stepped a female omega wolf who wore a stern expression and cold blue eyes.
"Long time no see Humphrey" she stated.
"Yeah, eight years if I recall correctly" Humphrey replied after a thoughtful look "So how'd you find me?" he then asked.
"Followed traces of your scent and the destruction you left in your wake" she replied.
"Should of known" Humphrey sighed "So how have things been Serena?" he asked.
"Good, hated that you left my pack…while searching for you to give you a piece of my mind I had a run with an eight year old pup, an orphan, she decided to tag along with me…meet our 'new' daughter Thorn" Serena replied as a smaller omega came out from behind Serena, stopping just behind her 'mother' and stared at Humphrey terror evident in her eyes. "She's sixteen now, it took me eight years to find you" Serena added.
"Sixteen and terrified, either you've gone soft or…" Humphrey began before been interrupted by an angry growl.
"I haven't gone soft, but you don't exactly appear friendly you know…besides we just had a close call with a small hunting group of northern wolves" Serena replied, the anger grew in Humphreys eyes.
"So those chumps are still at it huh, I may have to pay them a little visit" Humphrey mused.
"Honestly, Humphrey your worse than the day you left…do you have anywhere we can stay while we are in the area we're tired and you and I have some things to talk about don't we" Serena replied, Humphrey then sighed before leading the two wolves to his cave where they would stay while they were there and Humphrey had a feeling that they were staying for a while. Humphrey made a mental note to pay the northern wolves a little visit.
